One of my favorite sites along the Route!

We had an awesome time "Segwaying" our way through Philly on a 2 hour tour. We went all over the city and it was so much fun. A whole new way to take in the sites. Our tour guide, Barry, was wonderful. He was really knowledgeable about the city and had been giving these tours for years. He even commutes to work on his very own Segway! True sign you love what you do. I was nervous at first to get on the Segway, but Barry was really patient and helped us get comfortable with the Segway before we embarked on our journey. Along our route, Barry took photos of us and they were e-mailed that evening. A nice bonus! (except some were a bit blurry) They offer both 1 and 2 hour tours. A 1 hour tour may be enough, I was getting a little tired standing on the Segway for 2 hours, but its personal preference. If you are looking for something fun and different to do, consider the Segway tour.

We didn't book a tour but we did buy a few items from the gift shop. The guy was friendly and helpful with our shopping. Thanks for treating us out of towners well.

This was my first Segway tour. Upon arrival we were promptly seated in the corner to watch their safety video. Unfortunately there was another group literally right behind us learning the Segways. So it was very hard to hear what was being said in the video. When it came time to train on the Segways, each person got 1 on 1 time with the guide. It was pretty quick, but we were all offered more time to get back on if needed. They make sure to stress safety here at Philly by Segway. As for the tour itself, it was perfectly paced. Our guide (Fred i think) was very friendly and there were never any dead spots during the entire hour. He was also very prepared, having several walkie-talkies ready when my girlfriend had two that died on her. One big problem I had though is that it could he hard to hear unless the walkie-talkie is right next to your face. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. We were able to hit most of the popular spots in the city. Some that we didn't have time to fit in (magic gardens, Italian market) and a few we didn't think of (Pennsylvania hospital, historic houses).

Was a Christmas gift for the family. My wife and two adult daughters went on a two hour afternoon tour and besides it being a little cold, had a great time. We already know the city, but our guide Deshon made it interesting and fun. He made everyone comfortable on their Segway and certainly looked out for everyone's safety. It was a good time for sure.

I purchased a private Rocky Tour, my wife is a huge Rocky fan. Trevor was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! He picked us up on time from the AirBNB my family had rented, it was a nice Town and Country Minivan, and we felt like we had plenty of space. Trevor had a very relaxed, easy going nature about him - to boot he was extremely knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics. Everyone in our party of 6 learned something that day. He was attentive to our needs and made adjustments as needed (food, bathroom). It was the best way to experience the city. The best part for me was the stop at Di Bruno Bros cheese shop, I will not say how much as a group we dropped, but the private impromptu tastings they made for us were amazing.

We came across a Segway tour offer on Groupon and decided to book a tour for six. When we arrived, we were asked to sign a "no blame injury" form which states they are not liable for any injuries from the Segway. Afterwards, we sat on the bench in the store and watched a short video on how to operate the Segway. The video was more funny than useful, but fortunately, we were given a trial run on the real thing before taking it out to the streets. After the video, each of us took turns getting on the Segway and perfecting our balances. We learned how to stop, turn, and speed up, at the end of the five minute training, we also learned how to do a figure eight around the cones with the Segway. The place offers helmets and lockers to check our purses in as it's not advisable to carry anything while on the Segway. Gloves are also recommended as well. On a side note, there are NO stopping breaks, you will NOT get off the Segway until the end of the tour, so prepare to stand for a long time. Barry, our tour guide, took us around the city and explained its history and significance to society. During various landmarks, he took photos which were send to our email at the end of the trip, free of charge. We had fun riding the Segway on the sidewalks, streets, and waving to pedestrians. The Segway was surprisingly stable and very easy to maneuver. Our tour guide was also careful to ensure none of us are falling behind and inform us where to turn ahead of time. I absolutely do not regret purchasing the tour and all of us had so much fun. We would definitely use a Segway to see another city next time! I definitely recommend everyone to try the Segway tour once.

The Segway tour included a stop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art - the location of the "Rocky" steps.

We'd never ridden Segways before, and it was our first time visiting Philadelphia. We have 2 teenagers, 15 & 17. They gave us a good training session, and all of us were real comfortable operating them in pretty short order. The equipment was in good shape, and they used Wallis talkies for the guide to talk to us on the tour. Our guide, Mike, did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable about Philly, it's history & cultural events, as well as entertaining - even enough for teenagers! We did the 2-hour, 10 mile tour. It was fascinating and a great way to see the city. I highly recommend them, and would do the tour again when we come back.

My bestie and I on the 1 hour Segway tour. We were preparing to head out on the tour.

If you need to use the restroom before the Tour, use the one in the Betsy Ross House because the one in the Starbucks across the street didn't have any toilet paper. We had a very big group but Toni kept us all together. She is such a gem - a much better storyteller than the Tour guide from the Independence Hall. This tour with Toni made up for the anticlimactic one from the Independence Hall. She was very thoughtful and made sure we always stopped in the shade since it was a very hot day. Her stories were entertaining and engaging. I loved all the historical snippets she'd give us about the timeperiod of the founding fathers. We got so lucky because Benjamin Franklin's printing press was finally opened after a 10-year closure. Such a great addition to The Tour. You donate whatever you want at the end and I would highly recommend it if you're in Philly.

Our guide was Clark, he was very knowledgeable about the historical information that was included on the tour. It matched up very well with what we had already learned in previous areas of the city and other historical areas in the country that we have visited. I wish I had been carrying cash at the time, as he deserved a generous tip, for his attention and for his excellent tour. He carried pennies for his guests to throw a penny on Franklin's grave and explained the custom. I found that incredibly kind and attentive to detail for his guests. He took us to multiple sites and shared small details wherein I learned new information, even after having visited several of the sites before. He was careful to stop in the shade as much as possible, to take the easiest routes when feasible, and he asked questions of us in return to ensure engagement. It was very enjoyable! His closing stop at the liberty bell and the story he gave, gave fresh perspective, and was incredibly moving. I am very glad we made the choice to take this tour! There are certainly many to choose from in the city - and this proved to be an excellent choice. Thank you Mr. Clark!

Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and brought us all over the old part of Philadelphia for a great tour. We stopped often to listen to 2-3 minutes of history provided by our tour guide at each stop. We walked all over the Old City to talk all about our Founding Fathers, the Revolution and the start of the United States. It's a great tour to take if you're just arriving in Philadelphia and haven't really done anything else yet. Our tour guide took us into the Liberty Bell Center to see the bell, gave us a talk about it outside (the workers inside wouldn't let us stop in there to discuss). We went to a couple of parks and walked on the grounds of Independence Hall, but tickets to that aren't included on this walk, so we didn't go in. We proceeded to see the country's first stock exchange, taverns, Founding Father's residences, churches, etc. He even threw in some older history (like a former house of Edgar Allen Poe) and information about sports. Our tour guide was definitely knowledgeable and gave a nice tour. At times I'd even say he was a bit over-enthusiastic, which is fine since this was a tour four out-of-towners. He even played to our group, which was nice. We were a bunch of French Teachers visiting Philly for a conference, so he threw in a lot of history about our relationship with the French and showed us some famous French spots around town. Awesome! You can get tickets right at the Independence Visitor's Center if you're interested.

Over the course of 2-3 hours, we walked around South Philly with our very informative and friendly guide. We tasted bites at several different businesses in the neighborhood: donuts, bánh mì, tacos, horchata, whitefish salad, pastrami smoked salmon, mini ricotta cannoli, and a little wine! Along the way, we learned about each business and their histories. One of the businesses we visited has been open for well over 100 years, others opened in the last few years. All of them have great stories - about why the owners make the food they make, why they opened their restaurants - amazing success stories. Over the course of the tour, we also learned so much about South Philly - the history of immigration to the neighborhood, the story of businesses that helped newly arrived immigrants feel at home, acclimate, find work, or have a taste of home, information about how the neighborhood has changed over time. I learned a ton. Ate a ton (all delicious). I love food, but food often tastes even better when told with a story. And that's what Tiny Table is all about - food and its context and history. If you love food and/or history, I highly recommend taking the Beyond the Italian Market tour. I hope to go on another tour sometime soon!
