Penn's Landing is a great place to ring in the new year! It's crowded but festive. Tickets can be purchased that include a viewing area and other things but you can also find a spot to watch the fireworks.

This was a cute area to check out while in Philly. Like the water view of super area.

What can I say about this quintessential Philadelphia gathering space. Great place to stroll or bike from piers to parks. Great place to see street performers. Great place for festivals and fireworks but I love it just for the water. It can get pretty crowded during events but for the most part there's always a place to sit and enjoy the water front views

Pretty area right along the Delaware River. From my understanding they hold concerts here during the summer which brings out more people. There is also a Dave & Busters that is right near the pier so that is an added bonus. I like that there's a lot to walk past and that there seems to be an added nostalgia as you are walking along an angry river on a cloudy day. Maybe that is just me.

We paid a visit to Penn's Landing to take in the sights and the monuments. It turned out to be an AOK park. Walking here from downtown was pleasant, and the weather was mild enough to make the experience enjoyable. Tip: The monuments were very nice, with some very striking detail; they do their subjects justice and make a visit here worthwhile. While it's not worth making special plans to come here, if you find yourself with opportunity and time on your hands you'll probably enjoy a visit.

Great location but pricing is absurd. The rides were empty so we purchased tickets for the ferris wheel and carousel. They were $5 per ride per person. Despite being the only people on the rides, they lasted 2 minutes. The ferris wheel went around 4x and it's quite a small ride. Major rip off for these activities. We went skating and that was fun, but almost $50 for 2 adults and 1 child. There is not a time limit, so that's a bonus, but the skates had busted laces. Parking is $20. It's rare to find street parking. The view of the water and boats is great and they have bathrooms accessible. High price, low value.

Hammock area

I have been to Penn's Landing a handful of times. I have had a good experience each time. However, it does get pretty packed and it is almost impossible to get a spot on the hammocks unless you arrive first thing. There is a ton to do, with a floating bar that has above water hammocks, a Ferris wheel, an arcade, a roller skating rink, food trucks, a music venue, and a beer garden. Not the most socially distant place to go during COVID, other than the floating bar which takes reservations. Masks are required there unless sitting down at a table. I would definitely go back.

Rubber duck (baby duck)

We came here to see the world's largest rubber duck. It was a cluster....$12 for a multi-day pass. They had drinks and food - overpriced. The baby duck was on land available for photo ops while the mama duck was deflated...no bueno. It's hard to find parking here so I recommend taking public transportation. Spruce harbor park is located here (pop up beer garden in the summer). I wouldn't usually come here unless it's for an event.

I'm kind of mixed on Penn's Landing. I've been to some real fun things here like Irish Festivals, and Concerts (Saw Yeah Yeah Yeahs for free way back when and it was freaking awesome). The Moshulu is a good boat restaurant and it has some good historic boats that are worth checking out. you also can't go wrong with Jam On The River, and it's one of the best places to watch fireworks on 4th of July. But the brown water can be pretty unattractive to the eye. And for a riverfront pier side view it doesn't really give you a whole lot to look at. The Christopher Columbus memorial that's here can be another turn off.

I love Penn's landing no matter the season. In the summer time they have a roller skating rink paired with an arcade. If you walk along the river you'll also land at spruce harbor where they have hammocks set up with lights dangling from the trees and all the food trucks you could want. In the winter the roller rink becomes a winter wonderland. There's a skating rink where it's only a five dollar admission fee, or free for up to four people as long as someone has a blue cross insurance card. Skate rentals are $10, or free if you bring your own. Holiday music plays and you can enjoy a cabin filled with heaters and a lodge like atmosphere.

USS Somerset Commissioning

Only 3 stars due to the overall condition of the space. Maybe they have plans for the future, but there are numerous areas where the grouting is crumbling and light stands are damaged or missing. We walked from the hotel (Penns View) but parking in the general area is very, very limited. That said, it is a wonderful amenity for the city of Philadelphia, adjacent to the Maritime Museum. We were there on March 1 for the commissioning of the USS Somerset. The ship had pride of place at the base of the amphitheater - an awesome sight. Next to the amphitheater an ice rink was in full use. There is a beautiful monument across the highway dedicated to Irish settlers who landed here. Looks like a great place for any kind of festival so we will have to keep an eye on the calendar for a return visit in warmer weather.

Nice place to visit if you have a half a day and just want to stay in city , enjoy some ice cream and take a seat by the river . Would suggest to have couple more food vendors . You can kayak or ride the swan boat there . Good place family outing

The old chairs(tilting and broke), bathroom, and skates looked to be from the 80s. I guess the rink was closed, and it sat, and someone brought it and opened it with everything from back in the 80s!! There's security at the door, and they frisk you down! Look in bags and even went through the party food. The staff was nice and the woman who tended to the party was very nice and accommodating. If you have a party you can't bring in burgers and chicken because they sell that. When I put on the 80s style skates, I didn't feel comfortable because they were wobbly! Some people who I was with were skaters and refused to put the old skates on. Some people brought their skates. B.Y.O.S. the floor was warped in some places. The rink makes you sign a waiver before giving you a party band. Someone in our group was run over by the speed skaters and was hurt very badly. They announced that the slower skaters should skate in the middle. However, we couldn't get out there because of the speed skaters!! It was very scary trying to get to the center on the floor!!! Most people just stayed on the side all evening. Overall, I was disappointed at the condition of the skate rink but enjoyed the time with the people who came for the party.

The public skating session at 8p was pretty much empty, besides two other families, so it gave me an opportunity to move around and practice on the ice. My boyfriend liked that it was quiet because he doesn't really like when places are too crowded. The staff were super friendly and allowed us to go on the ice a bit earlier than the scheduled skating time. The rink was super smooth, almost slippery at some points, so I had to skate around a little bit before practicing some different moves. After everyone skated around a few times and marked up the ice it was much easier to skate. The only thing I would change is the prices, since I had my own skates it was only $10 for me, but for my boyfriend to skate and rent ice skates, it was $13 total, which I think is a bit pricey. At the rink I usually go to, you can skate for $8 and skate with rentals for $10.

GA shows are not easy to attend because chances are, you will run into a more rowdier crowd. Here is how I prepared myself the day of to ease some of my anxiety: - Go early to secure a good spot to stand at. - Drink lots of water before going. You don't want to lose your space by going to the restroom. Expect to stand for 4+ hours. - Eat a good meal, you don't want to faint. - Wear comfortable shoes. We left on a Friday night from New Jersey to Philly during rush hour in mad traffic. Got to the venue 20 minutes before the show started and I was so surprised to get a spot in the first row in front of the stage. I was like...no wayyyy!!! Acoustic here transmitted pitch perfectly. My videos do not do it justice. The sound was incredible. I think I danced every second of every moment. We really lucked out with some of the nicest people around us. While dancing at one point, a girl tapped me on the shoulder and said..."you're like the only one dancing and I think that's awesome that you're not afraid to do so". I replied, it's frickin Bob Moses, how can you not dance? Loved that I got to dance with a couple of the wild girls standing near me. Lol. Staff here are extremely friendly. One of the security guards below the stage was nice enough to ask if I wanted any water. There are a few bar areas for alcoholic drinks and small bites. Highly recommend this cool a$$ venue. It was standing room only for this show but seats were available for an extra $200 in the upper mezzanine, first come first serve. Restrooms: clean and plenty of stalls. Note: River Casino across the street offers free parking. We got to grab a bite to eat there afterwards.
