The artwork here is incredible, with so many interesting details and creative pieces to discover as you walk around. There's something new to look at in every direction, and it's a really fun place to explore at your own pace. We even took part in the scavenger hunt, which was a great addition and gave us another fun way to experience the space! It does get a little crowded in places, which can make it harder to take your time looking at everything or get photos without other people around. That being said, it didn't take away too much from our overall experience. One thing worth mentioning is that you might not need to set aside a huge chunk of your day for this attraction. We spent roughly 45 minutes here and felt we had a great visit. Of course, if you're really into art and want to take your time appreciating all the details, you could easily spend longer. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend Philadelphia's Magic Gardens, especially if you enjoy art, creativity, and unusual attractions. It's unlike anything else we visited on our trip, and we're really glad we got to experience it. Definitely a must-visit when exploring Philly! I was able to get everything I needed here for my tiny amateur container garden. This place has tons of herbs (the scent in their mint section is heavenly), an unexpectedly HUGE selection of peppers, basil, etc etc. Was also able to get some beets, tomato and cucumber plants. They have so many flowers and shrubs - I wasn't able to resist getting a beautiful hibiscus plant that reminded me of my Caribbean childhood. The staff was extremely knowledgeable - helped me plan my containers in such a way as to prevent overcrowding, helped me with soil selection and volume and the specifics of caring for my hibiscus. They carried everything to my car for me and packed the soil into my trunk. Any place that has dedicated parking always gets an extra point from me. They accept cards. Price is ok, not too $$$ but not the best prices ive ever seen but the place is convenient and I'm happy to support local.

Dan is a creative, caring, and communicative business owner. His team, led by Seth, was an absolute pleasure to work with - they did a truly fantastic job and were so nice and helpful throughout. After they were done, we had a small issue with drainage (because right after they laid down the patio, there were torrential downpours for days, not allowing our pavers to settle). I'm not kidding when I say within five minutes of emailing Dan on a Friday evening to let him know, he called us to say he and Seth were coming over right away to take a look. Because of continued bad weather, they had to come back a few times over the next few weeks to make sure everything was good. Yes, they made our patio a little slice of heaven, but we were actually the most impressed with their post-project attentiveness and customer-focused desire to make everything right. But its a very interesting experience because it shows off plenty of plants that were grown in Philly during the 1700s. Everything was well-kept and clean, done by volunteers from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. You'll even find a spot that was dedicated by then-First Lady Lady Bird Johnson in 1965. It's definitely worth taking a stroll through. Be good to all the plants!

Live energy, little activity tables, and a small plant sale that was honestly very tempting. One of the coolest things I learned is that they have what's believed to be the oldest ginkgo tree in both North and South America. That alone made the visit feel a little special. I spent some time walking the trails and made my way around the water too. It's really pretty back there. Lots of flowers in bloom, open space, and quieter areas if you want a break from the crowd. I definitely liked the more shaded, tree-heavy sections the most. Some of the booths were set up fully in the sun and it got a bit intense after a while, so having those cooler, shaded areas made a big difference. Staff were very helpful and the trails are clearly marked, which made it easy to just wander without worrying about getting lost. Only downside is the location can be a little tricky to get to, especially if you're not driving. But once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. Overall just a really enjoyable, laid-back outdoor spot with a lot to explore. I'd come back, especially for another event.

I love the dawn redwoods, which remind me of my time in Northern California. There are interesting sculptures to see. The formal gardens are lovely, with lots of gorgeous roses. I've not yet taken the railroad. Beyond the carefully curated gardens and arboretum are the wetlands along the Wissahickon. You can spend a lovely day in nature exploring the trails.
