My sandwich with bell peppers, mushrooms fried onions and pepper jack. Great French fries, way better than traditional steak fries.

I lived in central New Jersey for 60+ years and practically lived on Philly cheesesteaks! Coming to New Mexico, an authentic version has been hard to find. Spinn's is OK but I always need to order a "deconstructed" sandwich because their version is very oily. If you don't order it that way, it makes the bread so soggy it's really hard to eat it before the bread falls apart. There's a nationwide chain at a number of shopping malls called Charlie's and their offering is a little skimpy when it comes to the filling on the bread. Our real estate agent gave us a couple of restaurant cards and one of the places that accepts them is called Philly Cheesesteaks on Juan Tabo. We took the drive from all the way on the west side of Albuquerque just to check it out. And, we were definitely not disappointed. For one thing, the ability to customize your sandwich is unlimited. You can select your meat, your veggies, your cheese, and your condiments, etc., and there's a plethora of sides that you can choose to go with your sandwich. I love the name, "crabby fries," which actually means that the fries are dusted with old bay seafood seasoning. Very nice touch. Their onion rings are actually made with real onions. The crunch is perfect. In our opinion, the best characteristic of their sandwiches is the ratio of meat/filling to the fantastic rolls they provide. My wife is not a huge fan of sandwiches because she feels like you're filling up on bread. That was not the case here. The bread was the perfect texture and amount for the sandwich. The food and service are perfect. The ambiance reminds me of a Johnny Rockets without the lunch counter or the juke box! The walls are lined with Philadelphia chotchkies, like a framed quote from the fictional icon, Rocky Balboa. So, if you're in the mood for an authentic Philly cheesesteak, made to order, at what is a reasonable price, then drive on over to Juan Tabo and enjoy a slice of Philadelphia in Albuquerque.

I live rightt down the street from this place. Always last but I n finally came in. Glad I did! Clean environment, easy to navigate menu. I got the 6in Duke (New to New Mexico but fell in love with green Chile) very flavorful and that's what matters the most when it comes to Philly steaks (the quality of the meat and the seasoning) loved it I also got the crabby fries I liked them but it was too much seasoning for me (Old bay) But still not bad. Stop by And grab a bite. All this for under 20 buckss

SO YUMMY! The owner miss Stephanie is so very kind, keeping the environment lively, clean and happy. My partner and I both had The Duke Philly cheesesteak and it was beyond delicious! The onion rings were super crispy and every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh. The service was quick and we were checked on promptly, truly the best experience. All the staff were happy and enjoying their time working together, overall a fantastic environment & delicious food. Cannot wait to come back & recommend to absolutely everyone

I wish there was a 4.5 star review, but alas. This place is solid. I've never been to Philly before so I don't know how to rate it's authenticity, but the seasoning is perfect, the presentation is great. The value seems about right. You can tell they put effort and pride into the sandwich, which is about all you can really ask for. The only things I can think of that could be better is the ventilation and the pictures of ingredients on the counter, but those are so minor. I probably wouldn't even mention the ventilation if it wasn't talked about so much. I'll be back and it's absolutely worth a &try.

Saving the other half for another meal. Supper yummy.

I knew this would be good because there was a big group of people from the airbase and that's always a good sign. They seem to make the most out of their lunch time. It was a long line but the counterman handled it with great speed. The guy in front of me comes in to buy sausage and fresh mozzarella to make his own homemade calzones. I chose the full size italian beef and the other sandwich we got was mostly veggies and mozzarella(I can't remember the name). While we waited for the sandwiches we perused the baked goods and the italian market with tons of sauces, frozen foods, cheese and delicious baked goods. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. Even as a big a guy as I am I could have done with the half size, but I did end up eating the second half for dinner. The sandwiches are on soft, delicious hoagie rolls. The italian beef was stuff with beef and gardinera. The juices of the meat and the gardinera leaks into the botoom of your tray and almost makes a french dip like sauce. This place is fantastic!!!

It did not disappoint. I instantly flashed back to an experience of eating a Philly cheesesteak sandwich in Philadelphia. I was amazed and the cheese that was melted on it was absolutely the best melted vegan cheese I've tried. The restaurant is a pop-up on fourth Street and it's open on Saturdays from 11 AM to 3 PM. I found her information and location on Instagram. She is at 603 4th Street NW and I believe that's her standard location but please correct me if I'm wrong on that. We had to call the phone number at the front door to have somebody come down and take our order. It might be a good idea to order it in advance but it didn't take very long to order at the door. There's no area currently open for dining outside because of Covid or maybe because it's a pop-up but we brought our food home and enjoyed every single bite of it. On the side we had a kale Caesar salad and a shaved Brussel salad. Of the two I really enjoyed the kale Caesar salad. While visiting the pop-up I learned that Ruby Reds offers subscriptions to meal delivery services. I came home and researched on the website and there are several different options for different vegan meal plans that can be delivered to your door every Sunday. If you order by midnight on Thursday your delivery will come on Sunday so that you have food for the following week! It's a meal prep service and the menu options look mighty incredible. I did some more reading on the website and learned a lot about Dr. Ruby and her amazing work and experience with a plant-based diet. I'm so inspired by her story and all of her work. I also found her YouTube channel called The Veggie Chest and subscribed. I am always looking for new knowledge and motivation on my own personal plant-based journey. I will be back to try the meatball sub! And Dr. Ruby you are incredible! Thank you for contributing this amazing pop up and meal prep service to the community.

Look, you're going to die someday…read more That day will come just a bit sooner if you eat regularly at Big Boss Hotlinks, but oh what a life you will have lived until then! I tried this truck for the first time today, and my doors are blown off and my socks have been knocked off! The lady at the window was super friendly, and not in a fake, awkward way, but in a genuine, "I love everyone" sort of way. Anyway, I ordered 'The Duke' special, which is a lot of stuff I like: beef, hotlinks, caramelized onions, cheese, and green chile on a hoagie roll. She took my money, and I waited, thinking this was probably a mistake. I hadn't heard much about the place, but it seemed like with all those components, some of the weaker ones would bring down the entire sandwich. Boy was I wrong. The beef was beautifully cooked, with just a bit of pink showing, the hotlinks were smokey and delicious, the onions were soft and plentiful, the green chile had heat, and the cheese tied it all together into a beautiful gooey mess on a soft and inviting roll. I needed the extra fork she provided, as I 'got nasty' with it, caring less and less about what proper eating etiquette is, and more and more about getting it into my mouth as soon as possible. I'm not going to lie to you - this is not health food. Not even close. In fact, there really isn't anything I'd consider 'healthy' on the entire menu. If you're looking for something green, you've come to the wrong place. This food truck's menu is a carnivore's paradise, and it's going to cause long-term problems, but you know what? I live in the short term. It's greasy and brown, and just amazing. This would be the ultimate hangover food if I were hung over, which might just be the best compliment I can give the place. I'll definitely return.
