I will keep this review short and sweet. I've come to Philly Grill a few times. The service has been friendly on each visit. I was excited when I first walked in and saw all of the Philly paraphernalia on the walls. They do serve beer here. They don't have cheez whiz here. Instead they use a melted cheddar cheese that should only go with nachos or a hot dog in my opinion. I guess this is why they don't want you asking them who is from Philly lol. They do put a decent amount of meat on the sandwich. They don't season the meat which is a no no in my book. The roll is toasted on the grill. The cheese steak here is OK at best. The only thing Philly about this place is the fact that they use Amoroso rolls and that's it. read more

Food here is really good. I've been visiting this place on Mondays fairly regularly for about a year or so when I learned about their Monday night dine-in special which is effectively half-off of two sandwiches. However, They suddenly started to enforce a new policy. They will only let you have the special if you're accompanied by a guest... I learned about this when they refused to give it to me one Monday evening... Upset I left without purchasing anything... I returned a week later with two of my friends. They let the two of them have the special but refused it to me because I was not accompanied by a fourth... It just seems like bad business to allow some to have the sale price and deny others. It doesn't make any sense financially either. If four people come in and all planned to order two Sandwiches that table would pay for four sandwiches. Under the new policy the group of four would only order four sandwiches and pay for two, but take up the same amount of space in the restaurant leading to less overall sales. I hope that they will reconsider this policy so that single indivuals can enjoy the same promotions. read more

Ordered a cheesesteak for takeout today, then proceeded to get lost before I could pick up my order. (The phone wouldn't take a charge.) Although I hate what styrofoam does to marine life, I was grateful they used it, because my sandwich was kept warm until I arrival almost an hour later. The bread was good, but wasn't toasted as I requested. Also, the onions are chopped, as in diced quite small, rather than sliced into the rings I enjoyed in the DeBellaware Valley. SPOT ON! Can't believe we found this on our last night in town! Husband grew up in PA, and he is ALWAYS looking for the right CHEESESTEAK. This is the correct meat, the correct bun, done right. I am a Philly girl and ecstatic that we are lucky enough to have thus Authentic Philly restaurant. From the time you walk in to the time you leave it is a clean friendly environment. The staff is exceptional. They just expanded the menu and everything is fresh and delicious. My favorite thing as a kid was a Philly Italian water ice and Birch beer. The Philly Grill has them both!! I liked this one better than Big Al's & Jersey Mike's philly's. It's right near my house so that's an added bonus. The staff is friendly. The only thing I remember not liking was the drink cost and selection, so I usually just get mine to go. I was having a rough day and ate one in my car and every second was like pure ecstasy, but it was a pretty hard comedown on that last bite when I realized there wasn't any left. I was like one of those people stranded out at sea when they are trying to get the last drips from their canteen because there isn't any water left. The only reason I don't go here every day is because I'm poor and I think it was in the neighborhood of $8 for a full sangwich. Monday is the day where they do buy one get one free - dine in only. I went to tell them about it hoping they would remake it. I told the lady at the counter, there is very little meat on the sandwich. Having lived in Philadelphia for six years (in college) and another year nearby, have a pretty high standard for cheesesteaks. This cheesesteak was about average. The combo with fries and a drink was only $2.00 more. That was a good deal. The cheesesteak was not memorable. My wife makes cheesesteak for me and her's are better. (She is a good cook). The fries were also average. We were served by the owner and he was very nice to us. This food is nice if you are hungry, but it is not worth going out of your way, to eat there. read more

Had a really good Philly at this place. Would recommend it but upon entering saw a couple come in with their dog. They ended up dining inside with the pooch under the table. Restaurant staff did nothing and said nothing. If you want to eat in an animal free restaurant don't go here. Hope they implement an animal free policy, otherwise I'm moving on. read more

I'm very disappointed with the food. For what we paid for three small sandwiches drinks fries and onion rings, I expected better. My biggest complaint was the bread. It was dry and hard. I ended up just grabbing a fork and eating the meat that way. The fries were ok, but the onion rings were overcooked. On the way out, I mentioned to an employee about the bread. Although their cheesesteaks are VERY good, I will not be ordering from this location again. Went on Tuesday, 06/09/2020 to pick up my order. First, the front door was locked. A worker was standing right in front of the store and ignored my knocking. This was at 4:15 in the afternoon. When she finally came to the door she thought it was funny. Meat was dryer than the Sahara and was on par with frozen steakums. Fries were soggy and I had to wait 20 min with no other customers in sight. I have literally had better meals at a gas station before. If you have to choose between this place and starvation, i suggest eating the tire of your car.
