Came in for lunch mid day on a Saturday. First impressions were not great, the owners children occupied majority of the tables to include an infant in a crib between two tables. Seating was limited and the inside felt unkept. The options for donuts were not as advertised, they had maybe a dozen donuts left. The drink options were limited to refrigerated bottles which needed to be restocked. Once seated outside another one of the owners children was running her scooter in to wall beside our table completely unsupervised. We received our Philly cheese steaks which were actually really good as well as our donuts. I appreciate family owned businesses but I got the impression that the business would be more well kept if the owner was less distracted by her children who occupied majority of the restaurant. Great local hole in the wall spot for authentic Philly steaks. Be expected to wait during the lunch rush but those Philly steaks are worth the wait!! They are going under a renovation so be patient as they upgrade their restaurant. They also have a donut shop. read more

Food was fast and hot. We were the only ones here on a Saturday for lunch. I was glad to find it was not salty as I find most cheese steaks to salty for my taste. My husbands sandwich had pepper flakes which was odd to me since it also had a bit of green and red pepper. To me this is a take out option. The decor is hodge podge of old and worn out tables, chairs, basically everything. It could use a good cleaning and fresh paint. The service was fast polite we would eat here again. Update: went in again. The service was ummm not bad exactly but not good either. We asked for a menu item and the lady said we couldn't have it because she didn't know how to ring it up. Same lady never changed her glove (as in 1) even after going to back room, walk-in and restocking items and eating something behind the counter. I ordered 2 cheese bombs. Was suppose to have cheese wiz and american cheese. I asked for fried onions and sweet peppers. No wiz, 1/3 of the roll missing meat on all 3 steak sandwiches. I called and they said that you get less meat when you order onions or peppers. And the girls working we're both getting loud and had an attitude. This one is a bit of a tough one to review. If I was basing it on the food alone, it's a solid 4 stars. We were both charged the same thing but I'm not sure if I got overcharged or she got hooked up. Also, I really felt like they were ready for us to leave. Just the vibe I was getting. After we were done eating, we stayed chatting, mainly because another customer came in after us and was still there after we were done eating. Although we both felt that vibe, we didn't rush out but otherwise we would have! The cheesesteak I ordered had cheese, onions and mushrooms. It was meaty and delicious! Did someone really compare this place to Geno's in Philadelphia?? First off, this place is very expensive for what you get! I ordered two 8" mushroom cheese steaks and with tax it was over $17! I decided to go here for lunch today. I will say this...I come from a customer service background. I was NOT impressed with the customer service! First off when i arrived. The lady at the counter looked like she didnt want to be there when she took my order. She didnt appear friendly at all. Standing behind her was a tall guy leering at me and cook was standing at the counter. Mind you, i was the only patron in at the time. the place was empty. After paying for my food and waiting for a short amount of time to get my food. I left. I didnt want to eat there. I think that Philly's in Ladson is way better. the 'steak fries' were total garbage. i took a bite of one and threw the rest away. As i typed earlier. the sub was good, but not great. What is there not to like about Philly Cheesesteaks? The price is fantastic and the quality of the sandwich is exquisite. It brings back memories just writing this review. They have delicious bread with a hint of mayo right next to sweet peppers. Yes, I know I am drooling too. Their service is decent not the best. I have also noticed that they get pretty busy at lunch time. So be mindful of that ahead of time. They offer four different combos with their sandwiches (Onion Rings, Curly Fries, Chips and Steak Fries). Their steak fries are good and crisp as well as their curly fries. I cannot attest to their onion rings because I never had them. I refuse to switch from the curly fries. Again, what is there not to like about Philly Cheesesteaks? They hit the perfect balance of meat and cheese that seems so elusive to other sandwich purveyors. The Spinach Cheesesteak is transcendent. HOWEVER, their claim that they deliver is patently untrue. I have on several occasions called in for sizable ($40-$50) orders only to be told that the manager/owner was not willing/able to drive. They've gone through a few owners and changes over the years, but one thing that has remained consistent is they do provide the best Philly in the area. My first ever Philly was in Philly, so I'm a bit picky. The menu has been paired down with the most recent owner, which helps with cooking, ordering and timeliness of your order. My only concern with this place is it could use a good updating, but I'll take good food over ambiance any day of the week. I recommend and take all my friends that are in the area to Philly's. I went in to get a chicken philly. Prior To ordering I advise the cook that I had a beef allergy. I asked her if she could use clean silverware and clean the spot she's going to use on the grill prior to cooking my food. She assured me there was no problem in doing that. I then sat down and waited for her to fix my food, and She must have forgotten that fast because she used the same spatula from the beef on my chicken. Then she gets the clean spatula and placed it next to the beef one hoping that I didn't see what she had done. So I asked her did she use the Beef spatula on my food and she said she didn't think so even though she knew I could see everything from where I was sitting.
