Phil was amazing. A few friends and decided to have a photo shoot to celebrate our girls trip to Paris. We booked Tuesday evening for an early Wednesday shoot. It was super last minute but Phil was incredibly accommodating. He was quick to respond Tuesday evening to get all the details ironed out so we would have the best experience possible and maximize the time together. He made each lady feel like a star. He took us to amazing locations and got adventurous and captured photos of us strutting down the middle of the street in front of the Eiffel Tower. There is no singular word to capture the essence of Phil and his work, so my review will have to suffice: I DM'd Phil via IG requesting a family photo session in February 2020. Phil responded within 24 hours, confirmed his availability, and directed me to package options. After I selected my option and placed a deposit, we discussed potential locations and monitored for weather. Phil assured me that even with rain, he was up for the challenge. The minute we met Phil at Torcadéro, I knew we were going to have a fantastic shoot. His soft spoken, calm demeanor made it so easy to be ourselves. My 9 year old was jumping and dancing (per usual) and Phil caught him mid air perfectly with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop. Phil suggested that we do different combinations of family photos, and so we did: family, couple, mother/son, father/son, etc. Now here is where Phil is pure magic - the couple images turned out so romantic, but in actuality I'm looking at my husband and asking why he didn't trim his nose hair?! Anyway, the locations Phil selected were wonderful. There was the Trocadéro with the best views of the Eiffel Tower, a few bridges, the Louvre, and Palais-Royal. Whenever we relocated, Phil would check in, "Are you OK to walk?" or "Do you want to take the train?" He would make sure to tell us how far the distances were, how long it would take, or how much it would cost. He was really considerate of our time and money. Our session lasted about 2 hours. We were getting hungry but didn't want Phil to leave! A few days after our shoot, Phil sent me some teasers. They were awesome and definitely got us excited for more. About a week later, Phil sent me a link with the rest. I naturally assumed that the best ones were the teasers, but to my surprise there were so many more that were even better! I'm so happy that we were able to work with Phil. We could've easily taken selfies and carried on, but they would never come close to the joy it brings looking back at our time in Paris through the lens of PhilArty Photography. read more
