Instead of gently redirecting her or asking me to take the pen, the doctor Kelley Von abruptly took it out of her hand in a way that didn't sit right with me as a parent. I completely understand wanting to protect office furniture and maintain professionalism, but I also believe young children should be treated with patience and kindness. A simple request to me would have been enough. As someone who has trusted this office with my entire family's care, I hope more consideration is given to how small children are approached during appointments.

She did this for me personally following multiple ER/hospital visits. Then I'm told they don't do their own billing so there is nothing they can do. I'm going to report them to my insurance company for billing irregularities. Also in the notes post appointment I was told to exercise more even though I told him I run 20 miles a week. Sometimes no matter what you do it isn't enough.

My father sees NP Kim Plummer. My father is 76 years old with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In November of 2022 he got very ill with a virus (dangerous for a cancer patient) & ran around 103 degrees fever for three days while we tried to get in touch with NP Plummer. After the fourth day, we finally got a phone call back (after talking to the answering service in Ohio). She told the answering service to give her about 30 minutes to call my mom back (she was the on-call doctor & it was 6am. We were ready to take him to the hospital). When she finally called, she told my mother, in a very impatient manner, that she had already called in a prescription for my dad two days ago. No one in the office, including NP Plummer, took time to inform my mother of this. When mom told NP Plummer no one had informed us, Plummer's response was "I did my part". Apparently, bedside manner was not a course she took in medical school. Don't go here. Not only is she dismissive and uncaring, but the office is completely unorganized and obviously has communication problems.

I have been dismissed by many doctors who thought my symptoms were just anxiety. After many years and seeing many doctors I was finally diagnosed with POTS. I thought the hard part was over, but I was wrong. Finding a doctor who wants to treat POTS is even harder. Dr. Hartman doesn't shy away from hard. I've seen Dr. Hartman for many years and he is one of the smartest doctors I've ever come across. He listens, understands, and partners with you to come up with solutions to help manage my conditions. He has run tests that most doctors don't that have uncovered causes of some of my symptoms. He is constantly learning new information, thinks outside the box, and shares this knowledge with his patients. Not only have I had such positive experiences with Dr. Hartman, but I have had positive experiences with both of his nurse practitioners Jodi Caddell and Veronica Porterfield. Recently, Ms. Porterfield saw me for an illness and possible tick bite infection and she spent so much time with me and followed up with me when I was having issues and questions, even calling me on her personal time on a Sunday night. Never have I felt more cared for. I have not seen Dr. Jenski but know people who do see him and have just as amazing things to say about him. RIFM is filled with providers who truly care about you and want to help you find solutions to feel your best. Don't hesitate to join this practice - you won't regret it!
