One can only ascertain that the $6K + in membership fees is meaningless to them if they expect potential clients to track them down to give them money. It also makes one wonder if, after forking over 4 figures a year, the difficulty in getting to a physician during non-business hours. Let's face it, if the first impression is this bad, it does not give hope for a positive experience thereafter. Although irritated after having my time wasted, I'm going to put this experience in the win column. I can understand how sure, maybe the first time from my out of state doctor the files got lost or maybe they didn't get sent when they said...but now it's TWO doctors and they've not received files that have been said they were sent. Dr. Popovich has been wonderful in taking charge of our health care needs and has referred us to excellent specialists when we required them. Then, it was lost in translation between the front desk and the medical staff. No one bothered to apologize for the extra 30 minute wait. While I was waiting, I overheard a patient saying she was there, by phone request, to sign a document. After receiving the same methodical, unfriendly service, she was told they couldn't find the document, but IF they found it, they would call her back. After she left, they made negative remarks about how it had been several days since they called and she was 'just now' coming into the office. Then, I heard the same person who was supposed to call when she found the document say she found it, IF the patient calls back. I wanted to yell "BUT YOU SAID YOU'D CALL HER!!" I also overheard several other phone calls regarding patient's issues. On my first visit, I overheard the medical staff chatting negatively, almost gossiping, about patients, too. Anyone heard of HIPAA? Once I was called back, I felt the friendliness and professionalism continued to be lacking. I feel that Dr. Habib did not do a good job of actually listening to me, but instead seemed to only pick out bits and pieces of what I was saying and proceeded to go off on a tangent, to the point that she offered a prescription for an antidepressant which was completely unrelated to my medical issue. We never even discussed my lab results (of which some tests were left off the lab order) which was WHY I WAS THERE, before she suggested I make an appointment with a specialist. I told her on my first visit, I no longer wanted to see a specialist, because they didn't focus on the whole person, i.e., why I made an appointment with Internal Medicine in the first place. I want to figure out how to get ALL the dominos in order, not just one of them. But, per usual, she didn't listen then either. When I mentioned I'd need a medication refill, she told me I'd be okay if I went a little while without meds until I could see the specialist. I felt the lab work and both appointments with this office were a complete waste of my time. IMHO, steer clear of this medical office. The patient is NOT the priority.

Doctors Lorena and Kevin Harvey opened Physicians of Family Medicine over twenty years ago, at their Oxbridge office. I do not know the exact year, but I have been a very satisfied patient for over twenty years. I have been extremely happy with her husband (Dr. Kevin) as my primary care provider for most of those years. When he retired, I was worried about getting another primary care physician and tried his replacement, Dr. Marshall. I was not happy with him and was told I might like Dr. Lorena better. The office staff was correct and I have been very happy with Dr. Lorena Harvey. She has seen me through many rough times and I have a great respect for her. I have a hard time scheduling appointments around my work schedule and they are always willing to work around my schedule to be sure I get the great service I desire and need. She works out of their Cloverhill office located at 13861 Hull Street Road, Midlothian VA. 23112. It is not exactly on Hull Street Road so I do not know how they got this exact address, but it is across from Food Lion and Burger King just off of Hull street next to Outback Steakhouse. Also, a quick note that if she does not have an appointment available when you need one, there are a number of other doctors in the office that may be able to fir you in their schedules, and their Oxbridge office is open on Saturdays for walk-ins, no appointment necessary. It's hard to verbalize, but you'll know exactly what I mean if you choose to see her. That's exactly how my experience was--people told me about her and I couldn't understand what they meant, but when I saw her the first time, it all made sense. Her nurses are downright rude to top off her complete lack of emotion or genuineness. I've heard that, despite the negatives I mentioned, she knows her stuff, but she's not what I'm looking for. I have several chronic medical conditions and have been going to Patient First which isn't the best for someone like me. I was looking for someone who could give me all my prescriptions etc. Dr. Cella spent about an hour with me - she talked to me, took a full history, and I got a physical with lots of extra bloodwork because she wanted to test my vitamin d levels as well as screen me for celiac disease based on what my symptoms are. She was really nice and I walked out with 2 prescriptions for my insomnia and my anxiety disorder, as well as 2 referrals for an allergist and a dermatologist. Her office even made the appt for me for the dermatologist before I left. I'm excited to find a good PCP. The office is located behind JW hospital in the medical office park.

As an anesthesiologist, who is more than familiar with the failed back surgery syndrome, I was interested in alternative therapies. I looked up Dr Groopman, who is boarded in internal medicine, emergency medicine as well as acupuncture. He brings a broad perspective to his practice and he is very thorough in his initial examinations; as a physician, he is able to bring a multimodal approach to pain control, not just using acupuncture, and his treatments of my wife's back pain have proved extremely effective. A more caring empathetic physician would be hard to find and we both feel very grateful that he is taking care of us. We both recommend him very highly. As an addendum, I recently developed trigeminal neuralgia. After seeing a neurologist who prescribed a MRI and medication, I went to Dr Groopman, who had just recently presented a case report on his successful treatment of trigeminal neuralgia using acupuncture. I received a course of treatments and it's been two weeks since my last one. It would seem that the condition is in remission. I am thrilled.
