I called today, only to be met with some laughing and being asked to be placed on hold. After about 8 minutes on hold, I asked about my prescription refill that the pharmacy called in almost three business days prior. I was placed back in hold only to then be asked if I had checked with the pharmacy. Less than helpful.

I always felt like the support staff would rather be playing on their phone than assisting me, and I would have a very long wait while I was in the office to see him. It would also take a significantly amount of work to get refills called it. I felt like I was bothering the staff to do their jobs. Then, two years ago I had an injury and made a 'first available' appointment, and was seen by Dr. Miller. Well, she was FANTASTIC! She took the time to listen to me and really was far superior to Dr. Veech, so I called to have my annual switched over to Dr. Miller. I had to wait 6 months to get an appointment, but it was worth it. I have been going to her for the last year and a half, and then I get a letter in the mail that she is leaving the practice. So now I'm leaving the practice too.

I have a few health issues I was concerned about- no good veins , allergies to every kind of medication, fear of nor surviving the procedure since I had suffered anaphylaxis years ago at a big city hospital. Though this is a big city hospital, the people on staff operate like a small town community hospital where everyone knows your name and your needs. Free parking ! WiFi for the people who are waiting for you. Cafeteria Very clean. Did not smell like a hospital. It was a two hour drive for me to this hospital from rural Virginia. It was well worth the time.

I visited in person, had an appointment at 1pm but they chose to extend their lunch for another half hour so I wasn't seen until almost an hour after waiting. Don't make appointments during your lunch hour then. I don't make a lot of money to afford healthcare or I make too much to qualify for assistance but that's the problem with it, you either afford it or cant. When you can't afford it, you're discarded. Just like these people did to me. They don't care. They know my situation & still turned their backs on me.
