My last experience at Phia was great! The wait time before my appointment was appropriate, staff was nice and accommodating and I always enjoy being offered a beverage. Shout out to Lindsey Hyde for giving me an awesome cut. I have seen her twice and each time I've been extremely satisfied. Not only did I receive compliments from fellow staff members about my new cut, my friends and family ranted and raved about it! After talking to Torre (Mgr-co-owner), I can calmly write this review. My wife, who like all loving mothers, devoted her time and love to their children. She RARELY ever does something for herself. So I took it upon myself to find a place for her to get her hair done. And I found Phia on yelp, based on the reviews and the responses from the manager/owner. They appeared to take that extra step of providing great care to their customers based on yelp reviews I read. Well, today, I can safely say Kelly (one of the co-owner) is someone who is the complete opposite. Kelly decided to belittle, patronize and attack my wife while she was cutting her hair. To the point that my wife was crying, no, as Kelly said her eyes were teary while she was cutting her hair. What would you do? When you pick up your wife from a salon and she starts crying in front of you and her children. My wife is so loving and kind to everyone. She keeps me in check when I'm being rude to someone. And she makes me be a better person. Kelly for some reason and I don't care to know the reason decided to berate her. When my wife calmed down enough to tell me what Kelly said to her. I had to talk Phia and talk to the manager(Torre) and Kelly. After talking to Kelly, she definitely has no empathy and could careless about you. She made it clear to me on the phone she didn't care what she said to my wife and how her action and words hurt my wife. I have encountered people like Kelly numerous times. They feel nothing they do or say is wrong or how their actions and words can hurt you. They blame you and take no responsibilities, blaming the victim and making excuses and that's what she basically said to me when I talked to her. Blaming my wife and blaming me! And how she sarcastically told me that she is a co-owner, I'm sure she had a smug smile on her face when she said to me over the phone. I apologized profusely to my wife for choosing this salon for her. And nothing I can do or say to her will erase what Kelly did and said. The only redeeming thing for this salon is Torre, who was empathic, apologetic and understanding when I spoke to her. She said, she would have her other co-owner call my wife to talk to her. Oh, Kelly didn't even apologize, she ended my phone call with I'm not going to talk to you anymore I'll only talk to my client. She ended the call when I pressed the point, why was my wife teary while you were cutting her hair? It's safe to say, i definitely would not recommend this salon. Thank you Torre and the nice receptionist who initial took my call. Also, thank you to the stylish who cut my children's hair. I wish you the best. BUT NOT KELLY! UPDATE!! After talking to Elizabeth (owner) today, who was so empathic, understanding and kind. She listened to me and my wife for 30 minutes as we talked to her about the incident. And after talking to her, I truly believe she means what she says, when you visit her salon she wants you to feel like the most important person there. If you are unhappy with their service. They really want to know so they can fix it. It's not just lip service. She truly means it. She went out of her way to text my wife and she even reached out to me. Then she spent 30 minutes today talking to us and apologizing for what happened. She was wonderful, truly. Thank you Elizabeth for your kind words and showing how much you cared about my wife. I've been getting my haircut here for the past two years. I've recently decided to explore my options and find a new salon. It has nothing to do with the talent and everything to do with the environment. The staff is friendly here and they greet you with a smile and ask you if you would like coffee or tea. I appreciate their hospitality and down to earth nature. But, once I get in the stylists chair my experience turns from relaxing to chaotic. My stylist is always needed else where. She cuts my hair while talking to another stylist , afterwards hands me off to another person for a blow dry and then proceeds to cut another clients hair. This has happened on 3 separate occasions. I've never had this experience any where else. Usually your stylist shampoos, cuts and blow drys/styles your hair from start to finish. Did I mention I was paying top rate for a curly cut with a master stylist. I've never been wowed by my haircuts, but never horrified either. I was told it would take several haircuts before my stylists understood my curls. On my most recent visit I showed up on time for my appointment, sat down in the chair and then was given a magazine. I waited in the chair for over 15 minutes before my stylist began cutting my hair. I was told the appointment before mine had shown up late and that my stylist was still cutting her hair. My stylist finally showed up and began cutting my hair, then coloring my hair all while multitasking and directing the other staff, She had another staffer checking my highlights while she was cutting a few heads of hair across the room. The whole experience felt extremely rushed. To make it worse after shampooing my hair the other staffer (not my stylist) realized my blonde wasn't cool enough and she needed to fix the color with some color corrective toner. They ran out of the toner halfway through the process. Some of my hair in the back had lifted to an orange tone and toward the front the highlights were a cool blonde. Some of my blonde highlights looked slightly green from the toner. After about a week the green toner-look faded. I had a friend tone the back highlights and now they look great. The placement of the highlights was wonderful but the color was off. I think the lack of staffing and the overbooking contributed to the downfall in my experiences here. I was offered a complimentary blowout at my next appointment due to my hair troubles. I thought about the offer and then decided I would take my chances at a new salon instead. In the end my appointment lasted 4 hours and I paid over 200 for the service. I left feeling stressed and running late to pick up my kids from the sitter. Getting my hair done is my only indulgence and it should be a relaxing and fun experience. read more

I should love this place. Everyone loves this place! But it fell below my expectations. Hear me out: I got a pedicure here with a friend. We were taken to a tiny room that could have been a glorified storage room stuffed with two chairs. The room got even smaller when our pedicurists (is that the proper term?) came in to start the pedicures. My friend and I could not even talk to one another because our pedicurists were so busy talking smack about people. We couldn't get a word in. They came over with a silver bowl I thought would be full of products they would use. Nope. It was for me to fit my feet in. And this bowl was not big enough, even considering my average sized feet. I felt like my feet were being made into soup. And then my pedicurists asked me what was going on with my feet. What do you mean what is going on with my feet? Nothing is going on with my feet! I swear! What does that even mean? It was so weird. Maybe I should have them deal with my head instead of my toes? read more

It's hard to find a great place to get your hair cut, especially when your hairline is racing towards the back of your neck like mine is. I've been totally happy with Phia since I started going to it around two years ago. The place is really cool inside, and the staff is super-friendly and professional. Betsy, my stylist, is awesome, and consistently gives me the best haircuts I've ever had. I don't know how, but she manages to magically hide my increasingly Nic Cage-y widow's peak. I recommend Phia to anybody, especially other guys. Yeah, it's a salon, but the vibe is really chill and not at all frou-frou like some salons, and the cuts are WAY better than a barber shop buzz. Phia offers an all-around fabulous salon experience. I am not one to find a stylist I like and stick with them, but I can say without a doubt that I will continue to visit Phia for my hair needs. The customer service is great. As a first-time customer (using a Groupon) I was given a new client survey with basic questions (how did you hear about us? What salons have you patronized in the past? likes/dislikes, etc.), and it also gave some info about the salon, and let you know that even if you are coming as a first timer using a discount, your treatment will be top-notch. Ross, my stylist, started off my appointment talking to me about my hair goals. We talked for about five minutes, going over different ideas; I was pretty much open to suggestions, and he was so helpful and informative. He also took into consideration that I am very low-maintenance, and planned a cut for me that would allow me to keep it that way! You can choose from a complimentary scalp massage, mini-facial, or arm/shoulder massage. So while he shampooed and conditioned my hair, I got an awesome scalp massage; it felt great! Ross explained all of the products he used in my hair, and didn't use anything that I didn't want him to. I ended up buying a couple of the products- they are simple and reasonably priced compared to products at other salons. One thing that I loved, and what made this an absolute five-star place, is that Ross talked to me about my budget and he suggested one of the lower-level stylists for me to come and get my hair trimmed with in a few months. Then I scheduled a cut/color with him for the end of the year. This is not a competitive environment, and I love that! read more

Jess is the best, even in a salon like Phia which is full of rock stars! I moved to Cbus a year and a half ago with a strong ombre haircolor & selected her from the Phia site because she mentioned she's a blond perfectionist and I was thinking of going lighter. Not only has she taken me to a shade of platinum blonde that I never thought would have been achievable on me, we've been through a myriad of hairstyles as well! When I first arrived I had long, super straight (Brazilian Blowout) hair and asked her to cut it all off. Being the more sensible one between the 2 of us, she asked if I wouldn't mind going halfway first, then if after a week or so I still wanted it all hacked off she'd do it for free. Well, she was right. I was happy with my "mid-cut" for a month or so while I traveled Europe. When I returned, I was ready to go all the way and she gave me an insanely stylish yet easy to maintain short cut. After 6 or 7 months, I of course changed direction & suddenly wanted to go long - like all the way down my back "mermaid style" long. Jess patiently explained everything to me while I fretted on the decision of possibly getting extensions. I chose to go forward and WOW, she did an amazing job (I had no doubt she would). It was my dream hair! Overnight, long, perfect, Goldilocks style blonde tendrils! I'm now back to "natural" (ha ha) hair & ready for the next look - flame red! I just know she's going to nail this one as well! I've also interacted a lot with the rest of the staff & you can't go wrong with anyone at Phia; they're just a talented bunch of stylists. Even the owners are involved in the day to day operations & when I had a teensy problem I didn't even have to ask to have it fixed - it was taken care of before I even said anything. I came here primarily to get feather hair extensions. I ended up also booking a haircut too since this place had such good reviews. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and was asked if I'd like some coffee, tea, or water while I waited. He also brought out 3 jars of feathers so that I could make my extension choices. It was $35 for 7 feathers to be "installed". I was pretty disappointed with the color selection of feathers. I had arrived hoping to get a mixture of purples and blues. I found a lone purple feather and a few very small blues. The jars seemed to be primarily filled with whites, neon oranges, neutrals, and greens. I asked if they had more to choose from and they said that they did not and that these feathers were hard to come by all over the country. I kind of find that hard to believe when I am able to look online myself and find a plethora of colors that I could order. Ah well. A lady who was in charge of washing my hair came over and asked if I had made my feather selections yet. I told her I was pretty unsure what I wanted since the colors I had hoped for weren't there. She seemed kind of impatient with me as I sat their trying to quickly pick 7 colors that wouldn't look stupid on my head. I ended up picking, 2 small blues, a purple, green, yellow, and 2 whites. After washing my hair, I met the actual hairstylist who was going to take care of me. Pheww. Her name was Tiffany and she was very patient, friendly, and AWESOME. She went over the pricing with me so that I didn't have any surprises once it came time for payment. The haircut she gave me was probably one of the best I've ever had. I love it. I have been going to a Japanese hair salon for awhile and didn't think it could be topped, but Phia proved me wrong. I highly recommend Tiffany. When it came time for the feather extensions, I told her how I was unsure of my color choices and how I felt like what I picked was going to look like a vomit of colors all over my head. She played around with them and came up with two clusters that separated the colors into two more similar color families. She also asked if having the feathers might be a problem in my line of work. I was unsure so she placed them where I could easily pin them away if need be. I love them! I went ahead and booked my next hair appointment for 6 weeks from now (something I never do in advance). I am VERY picky about my hair. So much so, that even after moving to Columbus a year and a half ago, I was still driving up to Detroit to get my hair done. After this become a little impractical last June, I decided to start searching for a new salon. One mishap with another salon almost had me driving back to Detroit, until a group from Phia came into my workplace to advertise this awesome salon. I booked an appointment with Sarah, one of the specialists at Phia. I loved how she took the time to sit down and actually discuss and educate me about hair care-my hair never looked better! I had booked a color appointment, but work called me out of town which ended up turning my hair into a color nightmare when having to visit salons in Chicago and Madison. I went back to see Sarah again to see what could be done with my hair. I will never let anyone else touch it again! Again, she sat down to discuss whether or not I was concerned with time, the process, EVERYTHING! She even brought out a book showing me the prices of what everything was going to cost-a big plus in my book so that you're not surprised when you think you're getting a $60 color and your end result is over $100 (has happened to me before!). The color turned out so perfect and was exactly what I wanted. Hair that had been fried was now soft and the cut looks great and is easy to maintain. They show you recommended products, but there is no pressure to buy. The personal attention, coffee service, free facials, lack of pressure AND a stylist that actually LISTENS to you will keep me coming back and will having me recommend this jewel of a salon to everyone in Columbus! read more

I got the absolute best service of my life here. I have never had better color, and I have never been treated better by a stylist. I have only ever had one stylist here (Sabrina), and I wouldn't ever want someone else. She really listened to me on what I wanted to do with my hair, and when it was done I felt like a whole new woman. The atmosphere of the place is very nice, usually busy but comfortable. I feel like it's a place that I would want to be in. Everyone I have interacted with has been so nice and helpful, not to mention fun. I feel like I have a good time when I'm in there. I love Phia! After trying a few of the big "chain" salons in Columbus, I came to Phia and never looked back! Everyone on the staff is really friendly, and I love how every stylist in the salon seems to work together to make sure all the clients get the cut/color they want. It's so cool to see stylists (if they are less experienced in certain areas) ask questions and offer constructive feedback to each other to make sure the client gets the best style. It's a level of teamwork notably absent in most salons. Annah is my regular stylist, and is AMAZING! I trust her completely and, more often than not, end up saying "do whatever you want!". Every hair cut is great, and grows out perfectly. She's a great colorist as well, and chooses different foil placements to achieve my different color looks throughout the year. I truly wish I liked this salon more. I had heard great things about it and was overall disappointed. First, the parking situation is a nightmare. Try to make your appointment not during evenings or weekends or you will be circling the block looking for a meter. Once I got into the salon, I was shocked at how teeny tiny it is, there is no waiting room and its all one space. It was also super packed and very loud. Definitely not what I am used to as far as a calming spa experience. The girls are also in a hurry, the clients are booked back to back and they are in a rush. Phia is truly the best and totally one of a kind in vibe, talent, comfort level, etc. One of the hardest parts of moving away from Columbus was saying goodbye to Annah, a master of master stylists. When you sit in her chair, she works two ways: you can ask her to recreate a style in a photo, which she will duplicate to perfection, or you can ask her to use her amazingly creative brain to think up a new look, and it will be equally as perfect (and better than something you could have imagined on your own!) I always tell her I want my blonde to look natural and not fake (even though I am not a natural blond any longer!) and it comes out perfect every time. There are always people in the salon walking by to tell me how great my hair looks. You will want to go out after your hair appointment because you will feel so beautiful. Annah is professional, yet super friendly and fun. It is truly a "snob-free zone". I am actually flying back to Columbus from California next month and refuse to let anyone else touch my hair while I wait to get back in Annah's chair! Horrible color. I sent Alyssa 4 pics and told her my hair pulls red and gold and I dont want brassy or ash color. I am not a colorist but beige or soft. IT is now day 11 and I am pouring violet on my hair to try to tone down the brass all over. She was just touching up my roots the rest of my hair was beautiful. This review is for PHIA and PHILOSOPHI there new salon. Most of there clientele is from groupon deals. That's why they appear "so rushed" and busy all of the time. Elizabeth is now so desperate about my bad review she is communicating with me here on yelp. And I see according to YELP she attempted to delete my review. Thanks YELP. The customers need to know how unprofessional PHIA and PHILOSOPHI are. I came in 5 five minutes late. Not 60 minutes. So you are resorting to lying now ontop of everything else. Also my stylist Alyssa spent maybe 5 minutes on me throwing this bleach onto my hair. Than leaving me with an apprentice or student for 2 hrs while she hung out downstairs and cut other people's hair blatantly ignoring me. This is when she should have been checking my color. Elizabeth emailed me back twice Monday thats the next day. And seemed professional and genuinely concerned by sending a generic note. Acting like she was just too busy with customers and said she was investigating the matter. The next msg was she was confused what the problem was. And that my botched hair was really because of my being 5 minutes late. But the were planning to fix it by having me come in again and do even more highlights expecting me to pay for that. The next email was 3 days later and that email was to try and blame ME somehow for botched color. It was due to my being late which was 5 minutes. If it wasn't that reason she said my perception is off. My idea of what my pics looked like and how I told her no ash or gold were somehow miscommunicated. Afterward she just ignored me and when I contacted the salon she hung up on me repeatedly. I seriously doubt that my being 5 minutes late contributed to this. You have untalented stylists. Who are recent graduates of a beauty school. Please refund the groupon at the very least. I don't even care about the products I got that you pushed on me or the $41.00 you added on. I hope some one reads this before going to any phia salon. Or the philosophie salon. This is the runaround you will get after they botch your color. It is now day 7 and I would like my money back. So I can go to a convenient place to fix this. I have a colorist I see for disasters near where I live. I want to add how pathetic it is that you are supposedly the owner and are more concerned about a negative review than a clients satisfaction. You have not called me or emailed me once since Monday. Yet, here online you are acting all concerned. It's a small thing to ask. Since you seem to be taking this so lightly. I guess it must be a regular occurrence. My hair is thin, straight, and used to become greasy simply from *thinking* about working out. No longer! Between the beautiful hair coloring, cuts, and glorious Aveda shampoo from Phia, I can think about working out... and then maybe actually work out... all while remaining gorgeous the entire time. I began going to Phia almost three years ago, because I was a fan of Aveda products. I consider myself to be pretty picky when it comes to maintaining my hair, both in terms of color and cut, so I figured that I'd have to try a few places in Columbus before finding my soul-salon. Nope! Not only is the staff welcoming and friendly, but the aesthetics are reviving, and the prices are quite reasonable! Betsy performs my color, cut and style when I visit Phia. Talented, intelligent, adaptive, creative, and 100% amazing, Betsy is incredibly insightful when it comes to reading my mood, and listening to my interests regarding my hair (and non-hair too!). She is honest, and derives absolute joy from helping her clients feel beautiful and happy with their hair. She also massages a mean mini-facial that I highly recommend if a sensory experience is included with your visit. I always feel like the center of attention when I visit Phia. I've been to both Phia and their sister location Philosophi on three separate occasions. I went to philosophi for a color correction after my last visit to Phia, and unfortunately, I won't be going back to either location. I'd asked to have my hair balayaged, but walked out with streaky, chunky highlights. It truly looks awful. I felt as though I was given a sort of attitude by both stylists (the one who'd done my initial color and the one who was assigned to correct it) and they seemed annoyed that I came back to fix a problem that could've been eliminated if I'd gotten my initial request (balayage) performed the first time. I don't believe that the stylist who was assigned the color correction was skilled in performing the balayage treatment, which is fine, but I would have preferred that I'd been paired with a stylist who is. Rather than continue to go back and forth between the two salons hoping to have my initial request fulfilled, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

So I'm pretty blasé about who does my hair. I haven't had a regular hairdresser ever, and that wasn't as issue for me. However, now that I have met Dave, I'm pretty sure I'll follow him to the ends of the earth. No man has ever treated my hair with such elegance and respect and boy oh boy do I appreciate him. He laughed at all my jokes, and there were many! He told me what I needed to hear AND what I wanted to hear. Dave never hesitated to ask if I needed anything. And not only was Dace great, I made a little connection with many staff members who were all excited to see me hair! I was complimented on my shirt upon walking in, and the lovely girl at the front desk is someone I could see myself being friends with! All in all, my experience was great and I'll for sure come back as a regular. My only qualms come down to price and product. Dave was accommodating to show me two different prices depending on what I wanted, and I went w the more expensive, longer lasting choice, admittedly. However, both were a bit high for what I feel was done. This won't necessarily keep me from coming back, though. Also, I didn't care for the smell of the product. Most of it is plant based and perhaps that's what made me miffed by the odor. I can still smell it on my washed hair, perhaps I'll ask if I can bring my own product in next time! That's all I got. I have a unique haircut and it's tough for me to find a stylist who feels comfortable cutting it AND can get it right. (I've got a lot of hair but like wearing it long so my cut has very short layers up top around my crown and then gradually the layers get longer to about my upper/mid-back) I recently moved to LA, went to a new hair dresser and she totally missed the mark. I was really hating my hair so while on business trip in Columbus I asked for a recommendation, called Phia and begged them to work me into the schedule. They were more than accommodating and the gal who cut my hair, Rania, was absolutely amazing. She explained that my cut was challenging. That it was more texturizing than a true hair cut - a cut she had actually had about 10 years ago. She asked me questions, listened to me and gave me an amazing cut! She wasn't scared and took all the weight out of my hair. She made me feel and look great. The staff was amazing and the so was the price. I had a wonderful experience this afternoon with Liv as my stylist! Booking the appointment online was a breeze and Liv texted me the day before my appointment to ask a few questions and give some recommendations before my appointment. She also offered parking tips if needed! The salon was super clean, inviting and all the staff was very friendly. They offered me a drink when I arrived and then got a free scalp massage with my haircut. Liv was super attentive and great at giving suggestions for how I could keep my hair healthy and looking great until my next trim. I've had nothing but awesome experiences going to Phia Salon for the past few years. As a guy with an oddly-shaped head I've found it pretty difficult to find someplace that doesn't always mess something up with my large noggin. Those $12 haircuts just weren't cutting it. First off, you can do all of your reservations online, which is super-convenient to get started. I began by randomly selecting any available staff members to get a feel for who was out there. They all have their own unique personalities and ways of interpreting your needs. I have pretty basic direction for my short haircuts, but you always get a different creative interpretation of what you've asked for with varying success. I'd recommend sticking it out and trying a few people over several months to see who clicks with you (unless you fall in love with the first person you get, which is quite possible!) After getting a fantastic cut from Ross, I decided to stick with him. For the past couple years he's been nothing but super-friendly and attentive and has quickly learned a great combination of what I wanted and what actually works for me in a cut. In addition, he knows when I've had a rough day and I'm not in the chatting mood so he keeps conversation to a minimum, or when I'm feeling particularly lively and happy to talk about everything under the sun. This makes for very pleasant and relaxing visits that I actually look forward to. I can't overstate how awesome this guy is. All-in-all I couldn't be happier with Phia. read more

If you'll take a look at my profile picture, you'll see why Phia gets 4 stars. This review is mostly for Donna, my stylist. Note that she did not give me a cut or color, just a style. Phia Salon (an Aveda concept) is a really, really tight space and it got overly crowded after 2 wedding parties took it over. Even though it was super crowded and we were packed in like sardines I still felt like all of Donna's attention was on me. We had a loose idea of the style I wanted and she really made it come together into perfection. I went from a little worried to really happy and my style stayed put all night! She didn't really try and push any products on me, although I feel like maybe she was just too busy to woo me into any. The receptionist was nice and attentive. The style cost $45 which seems like a lot, but I believe it's on par with most salons. In my case, it was worth it because it was a great style. I'd surely go back if I ever need a formal style again. However, I'm gonna stick with Kevin at Great Clips Thurber Village for my cuts. Love you, Kevin! read more

I recently had a color from this salon that was not accurate to what I requested and did not receive what I felt was an adequate attempt by my stylist to correct the situation. I had a wonderful experience, customer service-wise, and an amazing cut, but my hair color was very disappointing in terms if what my expectations were. The color was very well done it just wasnt what i had requested. Although I didn't immediately get the situation resolved by my stylist (which is why I wrote my previous review), I did have one of the sister salon Philosophi's co-owners, Danielle, reach out to me to fix the situation. She got me in within two days of contacting me for a color correction, rearranged her schedule and spent 3 hours correcting my hair color. I am absolutely ecstatic about the results and couldn't be happier. I know that in any business that offers services, customer satisfaction is critical to your success, and Danielle at philosophi took her time to make sure that I was satisfied and was extremely pleasant throughout the entire process. No business is perfect, you can truly tell the quality of a business in how they address customers who are less than satisified. I got an amazing response, I truly appreciate it and am glad that my bday present to myself ended on such a positive note. I would highly recommend and will return in the future. I moved to Columbus from out of state and left my favorite stylist of 5 years. I searched for about a year and finally found a great stylist who had a great way with blondes! I've been going to Aveda salons for the past 10 years b/c they are eco-friendly and make my fine, thin, blonde hair look lively and soft. I really like this salon b/c my stylist listened to what I wanted and recommended what was going to be the best option. They give you the price before even starting your hair so there are no surprises. This is so refreshing! There are different levels of stylist seniority so the price varies (which is why i didn't assign a price range). Everyone in the salon is super nice and laid back. Fantastic!! I am so a permanent addition to this spot. They do it all! Phia salon is a wonderful place, I was in need of a somewhat emergency cut and they somehow fit me in right before close when 3 other salons couldn't. Right away the vibe was a better feeling than most salons.. Firstly, they had more guys working which makes me more comfortable because I know the stylists there arent totally cutting ladies all the time. This place is a pretty hardcore Aveda salon as well, which means you get all your pricing up front without hidden costs, a welcome change from your other high end spots. You also get to decide on a facial, head massage or arm and shoulder massage which is included with the haircut.. I took the head massage and it was great, girlfriends havent treated me so well. ;) My stylist Sunshine was just stellar. Her artsy style was just what my head needed, and she filled me in on some great tips to cover certain secrets I have with my hair as well as correcting some mistakes I have been making. Usually I'm a cheapo but I totally bought their product (a bit pricey) and I'm really happy with the results. This is really a five star place! read more

I tried to cancel my appt with Lila and she couldn't understand my name, put me on hold two timers and told me to call back. Then when she handed me off to someone else who was able to cancel the appt, Danielle asked me if everything is ok because she thinks I'm an unhappy person. Then she asked me if my hair was ok??? I felt very uncomfortable with her line of questioning and was taken aback as I felt tag teamed and bullied by Danielle and her only for cancelling. I've just lost a family member and have to leave for FL. If I would have known these girls would have been so mean, I wouldn't have even called to cancel. read more

Great service! I don't know if it's a Midwestern folk thing but the employees and stylists here are so nice! I loved them all. One con: I noticed their level one stylists are not very skilled, but their prices are still mad high. Maybe I'm too poor, but if I pay $100+ per session, I expect a bad ass haircut. On the upside, both their level one stylists were honest with me about not being confident enough to give me the cut I originally wanted. Thanks for your kindness and honesty, your prices are unreasonably high though. read more

An Aveda devotee, I'd been to Phia a few years ago when my regular stylist was on maternity leave at another salon. After that appointment, I vowed not to go back for a haircut. (side note: that stylist is no longer with the salon) However, when one of those deal sites had a special for a facial, I thought "why not?"... the verdict? I absolutely LOVE the esthetician services here! Helene is amazing! I have very fair skin that can easily be irritated. Helene does an excellent job at recommending and providing the appropriate service. My skin feels amazing when I walk out, and any skin issues that need to be addressed get resolved. read more

I have never had a bad experience here. After going a few times you and the staff are basically family. My stylist is Betsy Johnson and we connected on day one. Friendly staff, knowledgeable stylist of all levels, and an environment where everyone feels welcomed. You are always welcomed by a friendly receptionist, offered your coffee, tea, or water. After years of trying to find the perfect hairstylist, I finally found Anaya! Too bad I just moved out of Columbus. But while I was in Columbus, I would only trust Anaya with my hair. She's amazing at short hair. She also really pays attention to your concerns regarding your hair. For instance, I have pin straight Asian hair that isn't very volumous because it's heavy and likes to lay flat. I told her these concerns, and she was able to cut and style my hair in a way that created body. She also fine tuned all her cuts. Since my hair is so straight, you can see where each cut is made. She'd smooth it all out. Everytime I saw her, my hair turned out beautiful. It was both professional and edgy. Exactly what I requested. She's consistent, friendly, and takes her work seriously. The Salon has a nice atmosphere. For services outside of hair, I did have a bad pedicure once with a different stylist. The paint chipped off the next day. Never got another pedicure after that. Overall, I love this place (for hair) and wish I could find someone like Anaya where I live now. If you have short hair, you must see her. read more

Love this place. They are totally up front about pricing and how long you'll be there to get the service done. I have always been thrilled with my cuts (even a dramatic 7 inch chop turned out AWESOME). They do not rush you and really want you to be perfectly satisfied when you leave. I like their online booking system. I haven't had the best service when calling in (called to cancel an appt. And they scheduled me for 2 additional appts?? But it seemed to be a fluke and not a normal thing) I would absolutely recommend this place! read more

Let's get one thing straight: I'm very concerned and picky about my hair. Since I just moved here and I had no clue of where to go to get my hair styled, I was very frightened of anyone touching my hair to begin with. So, by using yelp for reviews, I narrowed it down to three places, Phia being one of them. I took a look at their website and while the style is a bit... plain, I was impressed by their content. I like the fact that you can get a look at the stylists and know their backgrounds and rank before you enter into the salon, as well as what products they have to offer. Its an Aveda based salon, so if you're into that type of product, then this is defiantly the place. Since it recommends booking an appointment for a client consultation for your first visit there, I did one with a stylist named Alyssa. Once there, the receptionist let her know that I arrived rather quickly and she personally came and walked me back. She took a look at my hair, discussed what could be done with it and even booked me an appointment to come back in the next day. In regards to the actual process of styling my hair, she knew exactly what she was talking about. She showed me what products she used for my hair as well as the amounts she used, took her time making my hair look perfect and made sure I left that place feeling comfortable and confident about my hair. She even gave me her phone number to contact her in a week to see how everything would turn out and keep her informed on the progress as well. They do offer you coffee, tea, or water once you are inside waiting to be served and during your wash, they offer you a sensory treatment. I took the mini facial and was pleased. I paid $45 for a wash and cut and my hair was a mess once I entered in. Overall, it was a great experience. I plan to go back. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for a few months now, but kept putting it off. Well, I saw myself this morning in the bathroom mirror at work (complete with scary fluorescent lighting) and thought, "Man, my hair looks GREAT today!" I didn't have time to dry it, style it, even condition it this morning, the weather has been horrible lately, and I am still SO pleased, weeks after a cut. My first visit was with Rania, and she gave me the best haircut of my life. I'm usually fairly nonchalant about haircuts, and had never been happy enough with a cut to go back to the same stylist, not even once. I returned to Rania last month, and she gave me an even BETTER cut. She said she had been gentle on my style the first time around because I had told her I'd been burned (hacked?) before, but this time she went further with the cut and did her favorite kind of layers. They're perfect! Rania is super, super nice and genuinely interested in getting a cut just right. Not only that, but the atmosphere of the salon is very dreamy and chic. It's so relaxing!
