I really enjoyed the rib tips but I can tell that they weren't smoked on a grill, it was deff good but it would've took it up a notch if it was smoked. The sauce tho omg was so good! I can say that the chicken was just ok, I loved the fries tho. The service was good, when I went the girl said she was new and she was super nice. The food is very good. I enjoyed the turkey tips and links. Sauce is excellent! They give generous portions, and enough sauce for all of the meat and fries. Service is also good. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes on a walk-in order, and my mobile orders have always been pretty much ready when I arrived. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I wish the place looked as good as their food. I really enjoyed the ribs. They were crispy and juicy. I had my sauce on the side. The wait wasn't too bad. One of the cooks was leaving the kitchen and saw me waiting and immediately returned to the kitchen to make sure I received my order in a timely fashion. My first visit, after reading the reviews we felt the need to check this place out. Driving up, this place is not even remotely appealing at least until you exit your vehicle and seen&!smell the 55gal drum smokers. Walking in the service counter is covered with what appears to be bullet proof glass with a rotating carousel to conduct business. Then the door at the end of the counter was wide open. Security obviously being a concern stopped at the wide open door. We ordered a large tip and wing combo and a couple of sodas. The lady behind the counter said "we don't have any pop, we're waiting for the boss to bring us some." After a short wait the Food came out fresh, hot with large portions and amazing aroma. There are very few seats so without something to drink we took our orders back home. Opening the container revealed a mountain of goodness. I'm honestly not even sure if the food there is any good or not but I was there working through Grubhub to pick up a delivery order and the attitude of one the workers was absolutely HORRIBLE! It was a complete waste of my time and the customers time because once 20 mins hit of me waiting after this employees attitude I cancelled the delivery because I couldn't wait any longer. I was uncomfortable and irritated after the incident and I know with this encounter I would NEVER spend a dime of my money in this restaurant. And the crazy part is my Family and I plan weekly to eat out and go back to places I run across working that seems good and I wouldn't dare come back here. 2 miles off I-94, this is a detour worth taking. We ordered a rack and some rib tips, both with sauce on the side. This was clutch. You could tell they put a dry rub on and let it penetrate for hours. The meats were salty and had a delicious cured flavor. The meat has just the right amount of chew. The fries are homemade, and could have used a little salt. But the shop isn't called phenomenal fries so don't worry about it. The sauce is a little sweet for my taste, so ordering it on the side allowed me to dip in as I pleased. There were many people that called in orders and this was the rib supplier to seemingly the entire neighborhood. We placed our order at the window, but calling in would have been faster. Seriously, they are doing themselves an injustice settling for the name Phenomenal Ribs. We arrived around a normal lunch time and had one person ordering in front of us. We glanced over the menu, but there was never a doubt about what would be getting ordered today! Ribs...Ribs...and more Ribs! Our order took about 15 to 20 minutes to come out. While we waited there was a steady stream of customers coming in and placing orders. Note: there is very limited seating available, this place is primarily set up for take out. But, there are three or 4 tables that seat 4 people each, Our food comes out and immediately we are hit with the smell...Amazing! As i tear apart the ribs for my first bite the first thing I notice is these don't have fall of the bone meat, but it's as close to fall of the rib as I have ever seen. As your teeth sink into that first magical smokey bite realization hits that you are in for something special. Perfect blend of smokey flavor to sweet BBQ. At this point everything else that came with the meal (fries and bread) has been forgotten. Nice sized order at a reasonable price. You leave very satisfied from a taste and fullness standpoint. Really my only problem with Phenomenal Ribs is that there isn't one in Birmingham. Thanks to the Yelp community of Gary, Indiana for all the great reviews of Phenomenal Ribs. Well named! I had the regular size rib tips. We the server handed me the bag it felt like a brick. They are not shy about giving out the tips. Meaty and tender with a hint of hickory. They have ruined tips from any other place I have been. Usually French fries with rib tips end up soggy and lifeless and just in the way. Their French fries complemented the tips and sauce. I'm white and don't get to try much food of culture but I love trying new food and man this hit the spot I go there every chance I get, I work nights so I'm kinda sad to check and see if they are open but they are not. Have been looking for a bbq place in the area, I can finally say I have found the one. This place provides you with the most food I had compared to other locations. I ordered the regular rib tip and that was enough to feed two people. The ribs had lots of meat on the bone, hand cut fries were really good.
