Wonderful local, cozy diner with friendly staff. Super fast service. The fries were addictive...hot, perfect amount of salt. We had the Chicago dog special and Chicago polish dog meal and both were delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone local or passing through. read more

This place is old school in a great way. I was pulling out of the South Shore parking lot wishing I had gotten a hotdog in Chicago and saw the sign pulled right in and was not disappointed. Great food, perfect french fries, nice people, clean an old school. read more

Best service in NWI, food has never let me down, hot dogs, Italian beef, spicy chicken sandwich, their burgers, everything is so great!

Fast, friendly service for an amazing price. I came as an out of towner and the staff and some of the regulars gave us a lot of useful information about the area. I was really surprised at how nice everyone was. The fries were really crisp, as were the fish sticks. The hotdogs and hamburgers were also good. read more

Excellent burgers! Love the fries ! We will definitely be frequenting this place after it was recommended by several friends. Cool atmosphere and very kind and professional staff. The prices can't be beat for the quality and quantity of food you get and it includes a beverage. I can't wait to try more! Ya just can't go wrong with Arman's if you're in the area it's definitely a must! read more

Love the hot dogs and great conversation with the owner, everyone is nice with quick service and great food

I grew up with Armans. Used to be the best hot dogs around. I haven't been there in a couple of years. Boy did they take a turn for the worst. First I was over charged , the grease in the deep fryer hadn't been changed in weeks and the quality of the Polish and hot dog I ordered was terrible. Save your money and go somewhere more reputable. read more

Don't waste your time. The restaurant is closed. They haven't updated thier listings so it looks open but they are not. New York plate is right across the street and they are open every day. read more

It's really remarkable that I lived in Gary,IN for 20 years and never tried this place until today. This place is a throwback to the 1950's. A small diner with limited seating, a lunch counter, and fresh, homemade, quality food! I'm sure that's the vibe you'll get as well when you set foot in this place. I had the grilled chicken special w/fries and a drink and a cup of chilli, all excellent! I don't know what it is, but I really enjoy supporting small, mom&pop places like this. Next time I'm going to try their mushroom and swiss burger.(that's my favorite!). The owner says that they only use fresh, never frozen meat and all the burgers are made from scratch. I'm sure I'll be bumping my review up to 5 stars on my next visit. The only thing that keeps me from giving the place a 5 star review right now is, service was just a tad bit slow and its' location in Gary. read more

This is one of our favorite "mom and pop" places we love to eat at when we come home to visit. If you enjoy a good Chicago Style polish this is your place. They always have great lunch specials. You can get 2 Chicago Style hot dogs with fries and a drink for only $5.49. So here are my cons about this place. The French fries are tiny, not quite shoestring fries but almost like they were cut in half. Also the staff could be a little more friendlier. The guy who I believe is the owner is usually nice, it's the ladies that aren't very kind. Especially if you ask for something extra like ketchup on the fries or extra peppers. Overall the food is good and that is what will keep me coming back. read more

Simple food done well. Not fancy and not overpriced. You want a good burger, dog, or bowl of chili with some fries? This is a place that will satisfy that need. I go about once a month when I am in Gary, In. read more

Color me impressed. D knew of the place but he thought they only served hot dogs. Thankfully I had a feeling there was more to it and after getting back from finally closing on our new home... (that was a real long dragged out process...so glad it's finally done...now the fun part of moving begins...but Hemingway...) ...I talked D into trying Armans instead of more Sharks (love that place still but a little variety never hurts). Arman is actually the name of a good friend of mine's husband as well. So I knew I would have to go there at least once to give them a try. There were a few cars parked around the shack. It's not much from the outside and definitely has a dated interior. But D and I were both pleasantly surprised to see just how extensive their menu is. I saw they had a special on lemon rice soup. I also spied a taco special that day that caught my eye. D saw something for a pork tenderloin sandwich. We walked up to the counter and while waiting saw even more items on their menu. Bill was working the front and was very pleasant when it was time to place our orders. We noted that they didn't skimp at all on the fries which was nice. D noted that the cook could've browned the pork tenderloin a little longer but he got the sense that the cook thought we were in a hurry. Despite that though he did enjoy the tenderloin and I really loved the lemon rice soup. The soft tacos were good though not necessarily my favorite. I can see why Armans gets busy. I'm glad we were adventurous enough to give it a try. Since they're not far from the new home, I definitely see myself coming back here and trying more items. Happy New Year! read more

My wife and I came here on one of our first dates in 1971. We stopped in today and the food was still fabulous. We had the roast beef and fries. The current owner told us it had been closed a few years ago. So glad it is open again read more

This place is superb. No joke, two hot dog special is 6 bucks comes with the 2 dogs, fries, and a drink. And the quality of the food is well worth more in my opinion. Fun little locally-run hot dog shop in Miller Beach. Not much to look at on the outside, but inside you'll find great tastes and friendly service. My home town favorite. After moving away from Gary ,I soon miss what I couldn't get and that was a Armans hotdog with fries.I like to get it to go! 2 dogs with everything. They had the old fashion hotdog steamer and bun warmer..Gary Ind has the best hotdog and fries around.they wrap the dog and fries together and that's the winning combination .you can't go anywhere in the USA and get the dog and fries wrap like that.In my book it's the only way to order your dog and fries. It's habit forming . read more

The best food in Miller by far! The hot dogs are the old fashion kind with the seeds on the bun. Love the fries and love the service. The owner certainly takes pride in his business. I work nearby and eat at Armans at least twice per week. I've tried most everything on the menu and liked everything I've tried very much. Fries come with most everything and is included in the FAIR price. The outside of the building could use a little facelift, but the inside is welcoming and comfortable. Parking at lunch time could be a problem but the service is super fast - no problems. You can also call in your order for pick up. So happy that Armans is still in business. LOVE THEM! read more

I have been going there since 1965 when I went to school with the owners son Arman. The food was always outstanding when Arman owned the place. After it was sold a couple different people ran it but it was no where close to the Armans quality that everyone was used too. Now that Bill bought the place, he has brought back that GREAT Armans TASTE, SERVICE, and has even expanded on the menu!!! This place is the place to go for fast food. I have 2 brother in laws who moved to Las Vegas and the first thing they say when they get off the plane is "Lets go to Armans"!!!!! Now that should tell You something about this place. I would give it 10 stars, but the system only allows 5! read more
