I grew up with Armans. Used to be the best hot dogs around. I haven't been there in a couple of years. Boy did they take a turn for the worst. First I was over charged , the grease in the deep fryer hadn't been changed in weeks and the quality of the Polish and hot dog I ordered was terrible. It's really remarkable that I lived in Gary,IN for 20 years and never tried this place until today. This place is a throwback to the 1950's. A small diner with limited seating, a lunch counter, and fresh, homemade, quality food! I'm sure that's the vibe you'll get as well when you set foot in this place. I had the grilled chicken special w/fries and a drink and a cup of chilli, all excellent! I don't know what it is, but I really enjoy supporting small, mom&pop places like this. Next time I'm going to try their mushroom and swiss burger.(that's my favorite!). The owner says that they only use fresh, never frozen meat and all the burgers are made from scratch. I'm sure I'll be bumping my review up to 5 stars on my next visit. The only thing that keeps me from giving the place a 5 star review right now is, service was just a tad bit slow and its' location in Gary. read more

This is one of our favorite "mom and pop" places we love to eat at when we come home to visit. If you enjoy a good Chicago Style polish this is your place. They always have great lunch specials. You can get 2 Chicago Style hot dogs with fries and a drink for only $5.49. So here are my cons about this place. The French fries are tiny, not quite shoestring fries but almost like they were cut in half. Also the staff could be a little more friendlier. The guy who I believe is the owner is usually nice, it's the ladies that aren't very kind. Especially if you ask for something extra like ketchup on the fries or extra peppers. Overall the food is good and that is what will keep me coming back. read more

Color me impressed. D knew of the place but he thought they only served hot dogs. Thankfully I had a feeling there was more to it and after getting back from finally closing on our new home... (that was a real long dragged out process...so glad it's finally done...now the fun part of moving begins...but Hemingway...) ...I talked D into trying Armans instead of more Sharks (love that place still but a little variety never hurts). Arman is actually the name of a good friend of mine's husband as well. So I knew I would have to go there at least once to give them a try. There were a few cars parked around the shack. It's not much from the outside and definitely has a dated interior. But D and I were both pleasantly surprised to see just how extensive their menu is. I saw they had a special on lemon rice soup. I also spied a taco special that day that caught my eye. D saw something for a pork tenderloin sandwich. We walked up to the counter and while waiting saw even more items on their menu. Bill was working the front and was very pleasant when it was time to place our orders. We noted that they didn't skimp at all on the fries which was nice. D noted that the cook could've browned the pork tenderloin a little longer but he got the sense that the cook thought we were in a hurry. Despite that though he did enjoy the tenderloin and I really loved the lemon rice soup. The soft tacos were good though not necessarily my favorite. I can see why Armans gets busy. I'm glad we were adventurous enough to give it a try. Since they're not far from the new home, I definitely see myself coming back here and trying more items. Happy New Year! read more

The best food in Miller by far! The hot dogs are the old fashion kind with the seeds on the bun. Love the fries and love the service. The owner certainly takes pride in his business. I work nearby and eat at Armans at least twice per week. I've tried most everything on the menu and liked everything I've tried very much. Fries come with most everything and is included in the FAIR price. The outside of the building could use a little facelift, but the inside is welcoming and comfortable. Parking at lunch time could be a problem but the service is super fast - no problems. You can also call in your order for pick up. So happy that Armans is still in business. LOVE THEM! read more

I have been going there since 1965 when I went to school with the owners son Arman. The food was always outstanding when Arman owned the place. After it was sold a couple different people ran it but it was no where close to the Armans quality that everyone was used too. Now that Bill bought the place, he has brought back that GREAT Armans TASTE, SERVICE, and has even expanded on the menu!!! This place is the place to go for fast food. I have 2 brother in laws who moved to Las Vegas and the first thing they say when they get off the plane is "Lets go to Armans"!!!!! Now that should tell You something about this place.
