I called on Monday because I had been experiencing gum pain and wanted to be seen. I was told I would be referred to the oral surgeon as in a previous visit I was told I needed my wisdom tooth pulled. She refused to see me after suffering 3 days of pain and no sleep. I called to schedule an appointment with the oral surgeon and they don't even take my insurance. So I made an appointment with the urgent care office and they gave me antibiotics. So I called today to see if she would please squeeze me in as today makes day 7. I was told again she couldn't do anything as she believed it was my wisdom tooth and wouldn't be able to see me. After pleading and having to over talk her to explain that the pain was nowhere near my wisdom tooth she finally decided to schedule me but told me she wouldn't be able to do anything about it. This is unacceptable. I am 8 months pregnant and never thought I would have this experience from a doctor. Doctors have to learn to take black pregnant mothers more serious across the board. It's not just a medical provider issue.

We came upon this practice and were a bit skeptical but as soon as you get in the door you can feel this is someplace special. Both my husband and I got excellent cleanings, exams and X-rays done in just over an hour. It seems the corporate places just want to upsell every chance they get. Here it was straightforward and reasonably priced. We didn't use our insurance but quite honestly, in the long run we will SAVE money by paying for cleaning and exams out of pocket. First, there were the repeated billing issues. Duplicate billing to my insurance companies, billing in excess of the charges incurred, unclear explanations for these events. I've had to reach out to my insurance companies to gain a better understanding of how these matters should be handled, I've explained it to the staff more than once and have been told (repeatedly) that the information was included in my file. Yet...it keeps happening. Next, is the lack of communication and failure to follow up and through. I've left multiple voicemails without receiving a return phone call. When I've been able to get someone to answer the phone, it's usually the poor receptionist who only passes along my messages (which I've been assured time and again was done); however, I've yet to speak directly with the person(s) that keep screwing things up. I have spoken with the Officer Manager (who also happens to be the wife of Dr. Junca). She's very nice. However, even she fails to follow through on what she tells me she's going to personally do or have done. My most recent appointment was the last straw. Apparently, I needed some additional work but the Billing Clerk did not want the staff to schedule me until pre-verification. I was told someone would call. After a week, I called multiple times with no answer and finally left a voicemail. During this time, more billing issues for that visit. I sent to emails. I called again asked for a return phone call from the manager. We had a nice discussion and I thought it was resolved. I was promised that detailed billing would be emailed to me with 20 minutes. It's been more than a week and...crickets. So, I finally made an appointment to see a new dentist. Crossing my fingers! Dr. Junca is nice and the hygienist I had was very sweet, too.
