I am a new patient to Crescent Dental. Dr. Zufari took me in same day as an emergency.. He is patient, knowledgeable and very caring. He was very concerned about not causing me any pain and also that I got the proper treatment needed. He wasn't worried about the money, he was worried about what is best for me. There are not many dentists out there anymore that aren't salesmen.. He is 1 in a million! His office staff also all have his same caring and welcoming nature.. Everyone from A-Z have been great to me.. I am so glad he was recommended to me by my co-worker. I now have a pleasant outlook on going back to the dentist instead of dreading and avoiding it. Dr. Zufari was the best dentist I have ever been to. He's extremely knowledgeable, truly cares about you as a patient, and was so quick and efficient! I had a tooth that was bothering me tremendously; he explained that I would need a root canal. He fit me in right away and during the procedure, he kept me well-informed on everything happening and ensured all my needs were met. I am still shocked that I felt no pain during a root canal! and am so happy to now be living pain-free. I'm so happy to have found this office. It was beautiful, everyone was wonderfully friendly and kind, and very little wait time. My teeth cleaning was so quick and really painless where I have had some hygienists poke, grind or use really cold water which has been uncomfortable. Dr. Zufari was awesome at explaining some of my options about some jaw pain I've been having - not cavity related, but teeth grinding at night. This is actually my fifth time at this office. The first time I came because it was the closest dentist that accepted my insurance. I walked in, surveyed the waiting area paid a visit to the bathroom and was about to leave. The office is very unassuming and quite plain, absolutely no frills. The women at the receptionist desk were just soooooo darn nice I couldn't force myself to walk out. Thank Goodness!!!! All the frills that weren't visible out front were clearly visible in the training and professionalism of the Drs and assistants! I brought husband next who is NOT a good dental patient.... His first impression was the same as mine, but he was in pain so he stayed. Now he won't think of using anyone else. Now it's my daughter and she went through the exact same process. Come, get past the outdated waiting area and wait for the surprise. Great Drs great staff and overall the only dentist in Orlando to touch my family again! The ONLY reason for not getting five stars is the initial lobby shock. read more

I'm from out of state and they were incredibly helpful making sure I had everything completed correctly and set up. My experience comes with a story. Many moons ago, I went to a dentist who had a fancy office, gave you paraffin wax hand treatments while you had your work done; all that hoity-toity stuff. They told me I needed a root canal. I was self-pay, mind you, and in my late teens. This ended up costing me $1,600. They then told me I needed 3 more, otherwise they would have to extract my teeth, and I'd end up with a mouth full of gaps. I never went back, and in fact avoided the dentist for years because of this. Enter Dr. Thakur's office. I went in, and everyone was incredibly sweet. The office is clean, and pretty, nothing over-the-top. Exactly what I think you should look for in a medical office. The hygienist I saw was knowledgeable and patient. After my x-ray's and cleaning, what do they suggest? 3 fillings. FILLINGS. If I'd known that all these years, I would have gotten it done a LONG time ago. The moral of my story is this: offices with too many bells and whistles are like that for a reason. Dr. Thakur's office does not seek to rip you off. Recently had to have some work done and things could not have went better. Dr. Zufari did such a great job, I had zero discomfort or pain during the procedure and was eating like normal the same day! They were so accommodating and got me scheduled to be seen quickly. I've been going to this practice for years and have always had a great experience. Going to the dentist is never a pleasant experience... except if your dentist is Dr. Thakur! I had a root canal done here, and had zero (yup, you read right.. ZERO) pain during and after the procedure! None. Zip. Nada. Pain-free. What an incredible dentist. Dr. is awesome she explained to me during my visit that my teeth needed deep cleaning. I was shocked ! Deep cleaningI had gone to my previous dentist few months ago. She took some X-rays and showed me where the areas in my teeth have not been touched for cleaning; I always thought my previous dentist was always going to fast. I had one of the best experiences of my life. Dr.Zufari is an ANGEL! Omg! I needed an extraction right away and his team for me in on a Saturday. I'm so thankful to God that I went here. Nice staff but terrible doctor...just kept talking about money and trying to upsell me! Definitely will not return! Please be warned!

In December 2016, Dr. Thakur started a bridge for me that cost $2,900.00 (plus approx $1,200.00 in prep costs) and took 4 months, 6 different appts and also having to have the bridge itself remade twice. In the process of him trying to fit the multiple bridges into place, a crown I paid a different Dentist to install several years earlier, came loose. When I returned to him to show him that the crown had come loose, he denied any negligence and then quoted me a price of $5,000.00 to replace it. I left his office discouraged and vowed to not return. In January of this year (2020), I hired a new Dentist who happens to have the most up to date and professional technology in the industry. In the course of his exam, he discovered that the bridge that Dr. Thakur installed (less than 3 years prior) had become fraught with decay which he was able to show me on screen and with high resolution photography and explained to me that it needed to be cleaned up and replaced ASAP. In comparison, he showed me that a bridge that I had installed in 2005 by a different Dentist and is directly under the bridge installed by Dr. Thakur had zero decay anywhere around it. I am not a Dentist, but I imagine that in my many visits to Dr. Thakur to have the bridge fitted, in his frustration, he likely neglected to do a final and thorough cleaning of the area before sealing the bridge in to place, or that maybe the sealant itself was compromised, causing the tremendous amount of decay to occur only in that area of my mouth. After working with this new dentist, I have realized how outdated that Dr. Thakur's practice is. All said and done, it cost me $5,002.00 to repair the work done by Dr. Thakur from less than 3 years earlier (including the crown he dislodged), so I sent a letter and photo's to Dr. Thakur's office explaining the situation and asking for financial assistance in this matter. I received a response from his partner, Dr. Zufari, who blamed the decay on me (even tho the only decay in my whole mouth was under Dr. Thakur's bridge) and then offered to reimburse me for less than 20% of the final cost to repair Dr. Thakur's errors. I responded further with a demand letter, in which Dr. Zufari's response was for me to sue them. ***A warning to anyone attempting to file suit against a medical practitioner in the State of Florida...be sure to look up and understand Fla. Dr. Thakur is a very fair and honest dentist. I went to him after having a bad experience with another Orlando dentist and am so glad that I decided to switch. The other dentist gave me a list of issues, had awful bedside manners, and made me fearful of dental work which I had never been in 30 years. I just wanna say that Dr. Thakur is amazing! I called early in the am and his office was able to get me in quickly. I was having extreme tooth pain due to filling falling out. He immediately did an xray and was able to counsel me as to which direction I needed to go to fix it. Unfortunately I do not have insurance so without hesitation he was able to extract the tooth for almost nothing in price. I had been to 2 other dentist who quoted me just for extraction at least $600 and then some. I was afraid of the pain but Dr. Thakur made sure I was all numbed up before starting. Easiest dentist trip ever. He extracted everything and during that short amount of time I did not feel a thing! As well as he is an extremely nice family man who made me feel like I was in his home. I want to gives kudos to Crescent Dental for being such an awesome patient centered office. I have been going there for many years, even before there was a yelp. I have never been as confident and comfortable at any healthcare providers office as I am there. The front staff treats you as a person not a number and the work Dr. T. Dr. Z, Sylvia and the other hygienist do is top notch. I am in healthcare myself and judge every medical place I go to from cleanliness to patient care to pricing. I've never felt pressure to get any products or have any unnecessary procedures. I recently recommended crescent to my coworker who is as judgmental as me and she called me when she left to thank me for the recommendation. In the past she has had horrible luck with dentist. Today she told me she's going to switch her whole family over. I describe the office as the best of old and new. They have the old values of calling you by your name and working you in when you have an emergency mixed with the new like 3D imaging and text follow ups from..get this... the doctor himself after dental procedures to make sure you're ok. I would not think of sending my friends or family anywhere else. I trust Dr. Zufari and Dr. Thakur more than any of my other doctors. I went to the same dentist for 25 years since I moved to Florida and she retired. I started going here 3 years ago and was recommended by friend. Now my whole family goes here. I had tried other places but didn't like them but I love it here. The doctor is very sweet and cares about your teeth. The dental hygienist is awesome and does a great job cleaning your teeth. They don't tell you you need something when you don't like the other places I went to did. The dental hygienist is Cuban and speak Spanish they are bilingual here. They take insurance but I pay out of pocket for my visits and the work they do on my teeth as it is worth it to have a good dentist that you can trust. I've been meaning to sit down and write this, I have always had the worst experience with dental work so much so that I've avoided the dentist for the last six years despite needing dental work. I woke up in the middle of the night with throbbing pain about a month ago . I called and went to see a different big chain in town the next morning. When I went in my experience was the usual terrible one I was accustomed to. I decided not to return and ignored the root canal I was needing for another week it got to the point where I wasn't sleeping and decided to do my own research and happened to stumble onto Crescent Dental! I was referred by my wife/friend/and mother in law to this location. The staff cleaning the teeth are friendly as well as the woman in charge of manning the front counter. However the "gentleman" (if you would like to call him that) with the long hair that works in the back office portion, is as rude as can be. He not only double charged my card twice but had the audacity after I clearly showed him that it was ran through the first time tell me "well I didn't think xx amount would put you in a financial situation". How dare you ask someone about there financial capabilities especially as a place that I have been referred to by many. I not only pulled myself out of this location and will never go back but I also have pulled 5 other members out of this location because if you have the audacity to ask me about my financial situations when you work in a office dedicated to helping those in need of such services, you don't deserve mine or my families business. If it wasn't for this one individual that works here the whole business would receive amazing marks but this discourteous individual lost more then one person he cost your business many. read more
