Back in 2024 I was looking for a new dentist after moving from out of state. I originally came here based on their positive reviews (which looking back feels like a sham as their staff encourages patients to give reviews bc they have competitions and tell you that) and also bc my Invisalign retainer (from my last dentist) broke. I was told that my retainer broke bc of my wisdom teeth and that I would need to get them removed. I was referred to an oral surgeon. I did go to the referred office and was quoted over 10k for extractions, a bone graft and implant. I saved up for over a year. In November 2025 I returned to Fine dentistry for a cleaning. At the time I did ask if they could do the extractions and implant at their location bc it is shown on their website under services it's something they do and their office is closer to me than the oral surgeon. I provided the original quote from the oral surgeon and was told they would get back to me. Fine dentistry did get back to me that day via email and provided an updated quote that was slightly more expensive. I was told that I would also need restorative work before the extractions and Invisalign. I did schedule the restorative work. Over the course of two months fine dentistry completed the recommended restorative work which totaled 4k out of pocket with insurance. I prepaid for each appointment and was thrilled on 1/7/2026 bc I was told I was fully paid and all my restorative work was completed! We discussed the cost of the original quote I was provided from Fine dentistry for the future extractions, implant and Invisalign. I brought up a promotional email I received and was given an updated quote that included discounts for the promo email and also a "paid in full" discount of 5%. So on 1/9, I prepaid over 12k for extractions, an implant and to start Invisalign. My appointment was scheduled. I was happy! TWO DAYS before the first extraction appointment I got a call that my appointment was cancelled bc my dentist I was working with was "on extended leave with no return date." When I asked about rescheduling I was again referred back to the oral surgeon. When I asked if there was a medical reason for me to go there I was told no. This was pretty infuriating to me. Bc I would need to pay for the dental work outside of Fine Dentistry I requested a refund. This is where things really turned. The office manager said I was to be refunded less than half of what I prepaid, claiming it was for Invisalign. When I tried to understand the breakdown of how she got to this amount it turned into multiple email correspondence that showed how messy their records are. I requested receipts and records with CDT codes SIX TIMES and to this day have not received them. I continued to request a refund for the prepaid amount and it was not until I requested a chargeback from my credit card and reported to my insurance that I requested documentation that fine dentistry failed to provide that I was given a refund.. nearly TWO MONTHS after my first request. To top it off the reasoning for not providing the full refund amount was bc they claimed I owed $115. I asked them if I did in fact owe money to bill me separately and my request was denied. The 12k was intended for future work that was never done and was NEVER authorized for past work. Nor should there have been an owed amount as again, on 1/7 I was told my previous work was fully paid. It's extremely disappointing that this happened to me and after looking at reviews it seems like what happened to me isn't an outlier. They have other reviews with individuals indicating similar situations. It's unfortunate because I did enjoy Dr. masoodi, Andrea and marti. They are a good team, respectful, helpful and the work I've gotten done is quality (according to my new dentist). However the record keeping and lack of support and communication with the office staff is unacceptable. Also, it is now May and my insurance is saying they are still being billed for orthodontic work, which is insane considering they canceled the appointment they told me I needed to do BEFORE starting Invisalign. I felt like I gave this business a 12k interest free loan lol. Due to the fact that this happened I would steer clear of Fine Dentistry. Do not pre-pay for dental work here.

We first started going to Smile Dental because it's the closest to home. It was never that good,…read morebut it's gotten worse and worse. What you need to know: 1. Dr. Um is a nice person. But she has arthritis in her hands, her hands get sore from performing dental work, and she sometimes has to cancel appointments because of this soreness. She told me this herself when she cancelled the appointment right after mine because of hand soreness. Your luck is better if you book a morning appointment, before her hands get sore. 2. The employees are always quitting, and the best ones exit the fastest! Every time you come, there's a new dental hygienist. If you like the teeth cleaning you get here, be sure that hygienist will be long gone the next time you arrive. I've never seen so much turnover. Plus, it's always a bait-and-switch game at this office. They promise you a certain hygienist, but when you show up, it's always someone else. No call, no warning. Once I called them on it. The front desk person had scheduled me with one person to clean my teeth, but then gave me another when I arrived. In front of Dr. Um, she lied and said she'd never promised anyone in particular. People here are dishonest, unfortunately. 3. The office is poorly run and no one is tracking anything. The "office manager" tried to charge me for fluoride even though my insurance pays for it. They have wrongly filed insurance claims on multiple occasions. Once we waited months for them to get prior authorization for a procedure. When I asked about it, the response was, "I filed it. That's all I can do." Not their problem! No one here is accountable. 4. Once I was in the office when a product manager from an outside firm dropped by. I overheard his conversation with Dr. Um. He began by reminding her he'd recently taken everyone at Smile Dental out for lunch to a nice restaurant. That's a bad sign, folks. What you want is an independent office, not one accepting handouts from corporations in exchange for pushing their products.

We didn't even discuss my Xray results, or other options for my clenching jaw. She just jumped to my 3 slightly crooked teeth. THREE! Really? They didn't even make my next 6-month appointment after 3 HOURS of appointment time with them. Everything immediately focused on my new braces. They even pushed me to apply for credit. When they asked me for my checking account information, I put the brakes on. All they did, was make me feel like I was being taken advantage of. Cavities? I don't know if I have any. I have been going to Dr. Marte's office for about two years now and I have to say it's the BEST experience I've had at the dentist. The two hygienist I've had have been the sweetest to me! First one I had really made me feel so comfortable being there and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Sadly she ended up leaving and was moved to another hygienist and been with her for over a year now. And just like the first one she always making sure I'm okay and talks me through it. Dr. Marte has been super friendly and always has great tips. In a few months I'll be moving but I will still make the drive just to come to this location. 10/10 experience for me.

I had an appointment scheduled with Dr Kansol for Aug 22nd, and I just got a phone call today (10 days before my appt) to let me know that they changed their name, and that their new dentist is named Dr Jessica Dew(spelling?). I was okay up until this point, except that they then informed me that my 7:30am appointment would no longer be honored, because their earliest appointments are 8:00am. I advised that I work during the hours of 8-5, and the girl advised me that she would cancel my appointment then. So my first impression of this newly re-structured business, is not very good. They can no longer accommodate working individuals who work a normal schedule, and they are absolutely unwilling to work with their clients. So at this point I guess i will be looking for a new dentist.

First off, I've never had to wait upon arrival for an appointment--something that's really appreciated when you are trying to squeeze in a cleaning during the lunch hour or on your way home from work. The couple times I've been here, my butt barely hits the waiting room chairs before I'm called for my cleaning. 5 stars just for that! The dental hygienists here are all super friendly and very gentle with your care. I've been to a few different dentists where my mouth is torn to shreds from the hygienists and that makes trips to the dentist that much worse. I've never had a bad experience here for cleanings and such. Unfortunately, I've had a few cavities filled over the past year (after going like 28 years cavity free...) but the work has been very timely and Dr. Kansol takes great care and pride in his work, so it's been positive experiences both times. I can't really speak on the prices since this is an in-network dentist on my insurance, but I've been pleased with all of the work I've received here and highly recommend this office if you are searching for a new dentist in the Lake Mary area.

While some dentists believe in "preventative drilling," Dr. Ho was not upfront that what he was recommending was merely "preventative." He was also misleading by showing me photos rather than x rays of my teeth while discussing my treatment plan - photos which showed stains but could not possibly show cavities. Completely inappropriate and untrustworthy. Do not go here and if you do, always get a second opinion.
