This company installed a brand new system in our house less than 3 years ago due to our old one continuing to have issues. We have been having issues with the new system since about a year after he installed it. Unfortunately, he had moved away and would not return any of our calls. I left a review at that time and he reached out, explaining he had moved away. After having had a number of companies out to fix this new system which stops working every few months, we finally found a great company who explained all of the issues we have had are a result of this system not being installed properly. Picked Petter Built based on the ratings. Had a leak coming from my AC, through the ceiling, and into the first floor. Came out and cleaned the drains. Next day it started leaking again which was Friday. He said he'd come out on Monday to look at it. I took it apart myself and found water sitting in the air duct below the AC and I used a shop vac to get it out and it halfway filled it up, so it was 2 1/2 gallons that was overlooked. I pressed him to come out Saturday to look at it and then he admitted he was out of town. I had to put large bowls under there to catch the leaking while I waited for Monday. The real problem ended up being dirty coils which he cleaned for an additional charge. read more

This is an updated review. Caleb and his colleague still get six stars in my book. These guys are awesome and really know their stuff. Our coil went out on our HVAC. It's still under warranty, but because of supply chain issues, it wasn't available. Even though Caleb didn't install the system, he filed a warranty claim for us, and then followed up with the company on a weekly basis until the coil came in. I feel that this review is overdue. I had the pleasure of working with Petter Built Heating and Cooling in May of this year. My wife and I were thinking of installing two mini split systems, one in our MBR and in an upstairs bedroom. I had four companies come out to give us a quote. All four showed up over the course of 3 days to look over the job, first company that came out never bothered to send me a quote ( even with repeated calls and texts). Second company came and quoted but their electrician never came out so I couldn't get a complete bid. Petter and another company came out and both got quotes to me within 24 hours. Both could do the ac and electrical and they were approximately the same cost. The difference was this. Mr. Petter told me that I had a cheaper alternative for the upstairs BR. They could install a blower fan , that while wouldn't cool the room AS GOOD as a separate unit it would lower the temperature significantly. He was the only one that even mentioned this option. We decided to go with Mr Petter. He got with us on their schedule for the following week. He told us that the job would take approximately 2-3 days. He made a confirmation call the Friday before the job was to start and the evening before he was due. He and his father were early both days and he did just what he said he was going to do. The install is bang on and integrates perfectly with the house ( even the conduit cover matches perfectly). When we had an issue with the blower a couple of days later he was right over and corrected the problem. The thing that I have appreciated most about working with Caleb was how he did what he said he would do with us. Customer service seems like a foreign concept to a lot of companies but not to Petter Built Heating and Cooling. His company will now be handling all of our ac/ heating issues and I would recommend him to anyone that wants a local small business that follows through. Extremely happy with the level of service these guys provided. I woke up this morning to a leak coming through my laundry room ceiling. Turned out to be my upstairs A/C unit. I found these guys through Yelp and called them up. They responded immediately and were able to schedule an appointment for just a couple hours later. They arrived on time and were very professional and courteous. It was determined that my drain line got clogged up which caused the drain pan to overflow. They got rid of the clog, cleared the pan and the pipe, and checked to make sure the rest of the system was in working order. What's best is that their price for service was very reasonable as well and I felt that I got what I paid for. I'm so pleased with the quality of work and customer service that I've opted to sign up for their annual A/C maintenance plan so I can have the peace of mind that this won't happen again. The Heating and air went out because well because it's hot and that's what they do lol. I called a few places And everyone was busy or didn't answer or call back. After a few days of that I asked a friend who recommend I try this business. Called and got a real live person and even better he said he could be there shortly. Unfortunately I can't remember his name I think it was Caleb. I'm not sure. In no time he and his dad came and he was able to fix the unit very quickly. Turned out the motor was burned out and a new one was needed. I am mechanically inclined and he showed me what was wrong and needed fixing and I could tell he wasn't upselling me like I had been warned about with other places on Yelp reviews. He got the part and had everything in working order the same day. The unit still wasn't cooling the house tho and he said it might need complete replacing which would be very expensive. Now some places might have pushed for me to change it right away and made a big sale but instead he suggested we wait 24 hours and see. Sometimes when a unit hasn't been used in a while it takes time for it to actually get things cool he said. I appreciated that he was honest about it and didn't try to rip me off or upsell me on anything. All in all I'm very happy with this business and his professionalism and honesty. Reached out late Friday night when we realized our heater wasn't working properly. They were able to come out the following day (on a Saturday, with no weekend fee!) to assess the problem. My heater quit working overnight. Reached out to this company 1st thing in the morning. Received a timely call back with them showing up just a very short time afterward. They were able to get my heat restored fairly quickly. I was pretty sure that my heater had not been working to capacity for some time and they discovered that one of my heat strips was out. Woke up one night to find the house hot and stuffy. The fan was blowing, but was only blowing warm air. We discovered that the outside unit was only buzzing or humming, but not operating. Husband called these folks the next morning. The phone call was answered immediately, and he was told that they were not far away and would be here to take a look in 30 minutes. Sure enough, Caleb and his co-worker were here, actually in a bit less than 30 minutes, and were able to immediately determine the problem and repair our outside condensing unit. Total time from making the call to completion of the repair was less than 90 minutes. This was our first time to use these folks, but they were very fast, very pleasant and friendly, extremely knowledgeable and, above all, honest. They repaired our issue at a very reasonable charge. Our system is a little older, and my husband warned that we'd probably have to listen to a high pressure pitch about the system being old and needing replacement.
