I had an extremely unprofessional and inappropriate experience with a groomer at this location. This was my first time visiting this specific location, and it will absolutely be my last. When I walked in, there was no greeting. Instead, I was immediately met with, "I thought you'd be here at 9:40," in a tone that was rude and unnecessarily authoritative. While examining my dog, she made an unprofessional comment about his face looking "raggedy." I had lightly trimmed the hair around his eyes so he could see, which has never been an issue in over six years of getting him groomed at PetSmart. The situation escalated when she attempted to charge a $50 dematting fee upfront, bringing my total to $173. This is completely inconsistent with my long history of grooming services. I have never paid more than around $130 total, and any dematting fee has historically been about $10 and applied after the service, not before. Even after I clearly stated that I was fine with shaving any matted areas and wanted a low cut, she still insisted on the $50 charge. When I calmly said I would call corporate to clarify the fee, she responded that she was "uncomfortable" with me doing so. That response was inappropriate and immediately raised concerns about the legitimacy of the charge. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable leaving my dog in her care and asked for him back. Her behavior escalated in a way that was completely unacceptable. She began making loud, aggressive "oo-ing and ahh-ing" noises and stood over me while I bent down to retrieve my dog. Her coworker had to step in and tell her to "back down." As I was leaving, she handed me my dog's collar and then falsely claimed that I "snatched" it from her. That accusation was completely untrue and felt like an attempt to provoke or escalate the situation further. It came across as gaslighting and an effort to create conflict where there was none. This entire interaction was unnecessary and handled in a way that was hostile, unprofessional, and concerning. A simple pricing question turned into pressure, intimidation, and false accusations. I left feeling disrespected, uncomfortable, and concerned about how both I and my dog were treated. I will never return to this location. read more

We are in town while my husband undergoes chemotherapy at JH and so I took my dogs in for their routine grooming. They returned to me still damp and hardly deshedded (my car was immediately covered in their fur which never happens after a proper grooming). Normally, we groom them ourselves but they needed their nails trimmed so I took them in for the full service considering our family situation. When I arrived to pick up the dogs I was informed that neither dog had their nails trimmed because they were "feisty." They are corgis which are known to have attitudes but they are 8 and 5 years old and have never left a groomer having failed to do a nail trimming in their entire lives. Since neither dog was tended to and not a paw trimmed I assume they hardly tried. Also to add insult to injury, while I was paying the other person tending to another dog kept talking about how they couldn't wait to leave. 0/10 do not go here. The service was also not discounted after failing to trim their nails. Complete waste of time and money. Now I have to take them somewhere else which was already challenging the first time while being my husbands care giver through chemo. read more

LAZY! LAZY! LAZY! - Imagine going to the barber who's charging $125 for a haircut, and the barber says, "You haven't been cut in a while & there's a little matting. The ONLY cut we can give you is a complete bald head, and it will still cost you $125.00, like the styled cut you asked for." This has been my experience here for the last 2-3 years. This is the jankiest petsmart store I've ever been to, and unfortunately I've had to come here too many times. The biggest issue for me is the line at checkout. Every. Single. Time. Doesn't matter if there's 2 people in line or 200, plan on standing in line for 2 hours while the cashiers carry on with themselves while barely moving. It's repulsive. If you can't find people that can scan items in a timely fashion, maybe buy some damn self checkout machines. No one has 2 hours to stand in line for a can of dog food. I took my little dog to get a hair at 12 they didn't get to him till like 3:30 by that time, my dog was very restless, waiting all that time in a strange place the guy that cut his hair was the worst haircut 84.00 for me to have to go home and finish the hair. Groomer was aggressive, got upset because I stated I would call and get clarity about the departing fee..wanted to charge me $50 , in other locations, the most I'm charged is $10 and it's after they completed the process. She said she was "uncomfortable" with me wanting to call corporate to clarify the fee. so of course, that made me feel uncomfortable leaving my dog there. So I just told her to get my dog, for.. to which she reaponded by "oo-ing and ahh-ing" ..from what I know, that's what people do when they are so angry they can't control themselves. The Towson location is my go to for my dog's grooming. Been coming here for many years and the groomers have always been great. Today's groomer was Emily and she did a wonderful job as she has done before. My girl is 7 but always comes back looking like a puppy again. read more

Came to Petsmart to help a friend with her two pets. The check in was super fun, but then the appointment went left whennone of the techs tried to explain their program and appointment payment. The individual was very combative and really failed to explain the policy. I think it ws language barrier but he began to become very argumentative with both myself and my friend. If I ever had a pet I would just take it to a neighborhood vet. The program somewhat sounds helpful but costly in my sight. While waiting for the vet to call, we browsed the store and yet we were accosted by a female when we asked about items in the store. read more

This particular location is completely unprofessional. I booked an appointment for my 2 year old Rottweiler for a bath and brush, something she's had there twice before. The first day I was advised she wouldn't go in the cage and became excited when two groomers tried to get her in the cage by pulling her by the neck while the other pushed her butt. I asked if she needed sedation, like some cats needs for their bathes and trims, and was advised if they was a route I was taken she would need to go to a veterinary groomer. Chrissy then told both my father and myself that my dog wasn't aggressive she just gets excited. I say again, Chrissy (the manager) said she WASN'T aggressive. When I called later that day, as I was put on hold for 15 minutes and no one returned to the line, to reschedule her an appointment (express) I was told that was the service she needed as she wouldn't have to go into the kennel. However, the day before her appointment Chrissy called me and stated she's canceling her appointment because one of her groomers, not a licensed but a groomer, stated the express service wouldn't help her. At this time, I will be reaching out to Chrissy's boss in corporate to file a complaint of discrimination, you cannot discriminate against a never done anything to any person or animal in that location. Chrissy continue to make up reasons as to why my dogs appointment should be canceled in. This is her second time canceling my appointment without my consent. She then said my dog needed to be an area where there are no other pets, again Chrissy is the same manager, who told my father and I my dog was not aggressive. My dog has never had an incident with any animals in that location and has been saying, walking past them, not even sniffing around the locations where they were. This location discriminated against her because she's a Rottweiler. I have three different vets from two different offices that the sweet Roddy because attacked anyone in those statements will continue with my complaint of discrimination for this location. I will never be back. My second dog was and now they're discriminating against him for his age. For these groomers to not have in veterinary science, they sure do Suggestions and opinions as to what your dog needs without reviewing the animal. read more

When I called to ask about diapers for my dog the guy tells me they aren't allowed to do inventory checks, which is is a lie because I just called 4 other pet smarts before calling this one and no one gave me an issue as far as checking or telling me the price of the items they had available. So this was an excellent experience for me! I was here on a Thursday at 5:00. I made an appointment previously to have my Toy poodle Sadie groomed. It took less than two hours so I was happy about the time. I decided to drive to Towson mall to do some shopping while I waited. So all of the staff here was very patient with me. I just got my dog on Halloween so I had no idea on how I wanted her hair cut. Since she is a toy poodle there were so many different options. I couldn't decide but there was never a time that I felt rushed in making my decision. Holly ended up cutting Sadie hair. She was so nice and I was happy that she gave me a rundown of everything that was done. Tangerine Shampoo was used, she was brushed and blow dried out. Her fur was soooo soft and smelled so good. She got her ears cleaned and nails trimmed too as well. Holly also wrote a note advising me that Sadie did an amazing job as well. I feel confident with going back to get other services here. read more

After going to four pet stores looking for my dogs new special diet dog food, I decided to go to PETSMART in TOWSON. I was tired, frustrated because I couldn't find the pet food anywhere and no one was willing to help me order it for my dog at any of the other stores. There was a guy in your pet store named Raymond who worked at the Banfield Clinic. He not only helped me, he was extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. He showed me exactly where the dog food was, what I have to do with the prescriptions for the dog food. He was great. Again his name was Raymond and he made my day much better by being a really good employee who knew exactly what I needed. read more

I buy my authority grain free cat food all the time from Petsmart, and other supplies. Today I went to this location to pick up a Purina Breeze litter box, to replace an old litter box. I should have known something was wrong when I wasn't greeted upon entry because I'm ALWAYS greeted at other locations in Maryland. When I went to checkout, the cashier didn't even bother to attempt and scan a corporate issued coupon. I spoke to petsmart over the phone while in the store and they stated they would issue me a coupon to my email, for the inconvenience (within 24 hours). I drove 31 miles from Glen Burnie, in rush hour traffic, to get the in-stock item!!! The woman in line behind me used a coupon just fine! I don't want to believe I was discriminated against but I'm not sure and really hope not. I just received the email and it's the SAME coupon. I will be following up with this store and if I have anymore issues I will switch to a new store. Very disappointed. UPDATE: I updated my rating. I went into the store this morning to speak with the manager Mark. I explained to him the discussion I had with the Petsmart customer care line. He was very understanding and sympathetic to my poor experience. Very helpful. My feline babies will be very happy with my purchase. read more

The store itself is nice. However, hazel has gone to the grooming salon 4 times they say they only have her in their system once. My dog is a mixed breed (one half of her breed has very low hair while the other half has a lot of hair). They claim because of the one half of her breed they can't cut her. While at the store the manager told me he would meet Chewy's price if I found Chewy to be cheaper. What I did find out is that the only way to get a cheaper price is to buy a case at Chewy. I tried to buy a goldfish here but the girl working there said she could not sell it to me because my empty 10 gallon tank was too small. It was a tiny goldfish. So she suggested a betta, which I bought. It was dead in 2 days. I have 4 fantail goldfish in my 30 gallon tank (I got the fish somewhere else) and they are happy and healthy and a joy to care for. This was not my favorite Petsmart ever. I stopped here to get the dogs a couple more chew bones that taste (to them) like wood. They had a lot of empty spots where toys were, and no wood chew bones. I wandered around for about 5 minutes, and the only people that said hi to me, and we chatted, were other customers. I got cat food because urinary tract cat food is limited where we can get it. All in all it just did not seem like the staff were excited to be there, much less have customers there. I will try it again another time....maybe it was just a bad day there. read more

THE GOOD... -usually have what I need for my cats -pre-made crickets bags is a great idea -e-mail receipt option -can bring your dog in THE BAD... -grooming staff lacks any kind of customer service...bunch of liars -vet on-site tried to con out of money -if no crickets are pre-bagged there is rarely anyone available to help -cashier staff can be very patronizing and at times ignorant -reptile supplies are overpriced -they don't carry Taste Of The Wild brand pet foods Overall I go here cause I need crickets and special diet cat food. Love this petsmart. We have done 2 obedience classes there with our dog and have had great experiences. The trainer knows what she is doing and always remembers my dog. She even went in to pet my dog when we were having her nails clipped there and my dog was scared. She helped calm her down. My Dog also loves it here, she runs in whenever we go buy. Recently, the manager was excellent when I needed to return a bag of food. Sometimes the service is great and other times it is mediocre. I bought the Hills Science dog food because my regular Royal Canin Brand was not in stock. It hasn't been in stock for about three months. Unfortunately, a few weeks after my dog began eating the Hills food, he developed a severe case of diarrhea. Upon my vet's recommendation, I ended up purchasing the Royal Canin prescription brand. My dog was immediately better and hasn't had a problem since. Had Petsmart had the food in stock, I might have spared my dog the pain and saved hundreds of dollars on veterinarian bills. I am thinking of switching to another store. Or, I may order items online from another company. If you ever need to return items to the Petsmart, keep in mind the return receipts are not transparent. It can be difficult to decipher the transactions. read more

I have not taken my pet to get groomed at this location before and I NEVER will again. The person grooming my dog must have been new. His haircut was choppy, his face was still dirty (and the people tried to tell me that his face was that way because it was a condition of the breed!?!? What!?!? Does that mean you still don't clean it???), and I had to brush hair off of him for 30 minutes when I got home. Why am I brushing my dog to remove hair when I just paid a substantial amount of money to get him groomed!?!?!? Never again. read more

This is my first time at this location since we recently moved and we took our dog to be shaven. Yes he was matted, but I was told that there was a deshaving fee. I was in a pinch with time and I regretted the service. The lication we been going to at White Marsh Pulaski Highway did not add this fee if a dog was to be shaven with the closest blade. Bottom line with this knowledge, I would never go to the Petsmart grooming salon in Towson again for any of my dogs as I found out they are a ripoff after the fact. Got me once but never again. I have to share an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. This is probably the WORST experience I have ever had with pet grooming. It was a shabby grooming and the customer service was horrendous. The manager (Heather I believe) was rude, condescending and arrogant. She would not listen and only defended. I will NEVER use this location again. I didn't want a refund. Only for the groomer to shape up and fix the issues they created. They claimed since my dog is a pup they couldn't work with him. Hmmmm. I brought my dog here for a beginner's training class about two years ago and it was unsuccessful. The group class training didn't work all that well and the atmosphere was distracting for him. I felt as though he was pushed through the class to graduation, based on the assumption that I would be bringing him back for the next level. I'm actually writing this review because last night I took my dog to get his nails trimmed (I've probably taken him to this location over a dozen times). The groomer was incredibly unprofessional. There was one lady ahead of me it was very clear that the store employee was overwhelmed. She asked me what I wanted to have done and I inquired about the Paw-dicure because I saw coupon on the website. She was quick to tell me that all she could do is brush teeth and trim nails. I told her that I would just go with the basic nail trim to be safe. I tried to be understanding, but her energy and unprofessionalism was very off-putting. She told me that she would service the dog that was waiting and then call me over the loud speaker when she was ready for my dog. She called for us about 5 minutes later, and we went back to the grooming salon. She tried to ring me up for the Paw-dicure package but made it clear that she would only be able to do three of the six services listed on the package. I told her that I did not want to pay for the package if my dog was only going to receive some of the services. She trimmed my dog's nails and I watched through the window toward the end and noticed that she required the assistance of another associate to trim his nails, not only that, but she also had styptic powder out. My dog is typically nervous at the groomers, but his tail was completely between his legs and he seemed extra upset. I went into the grooming area after she gestured that she was finished. She told me that she had cut the quick of his nail and he had begun to bleed. I've never had such a poor experience with the groomers at this location. The trim job on his nails was half-ass and to make matters worse he was left with a bloody paw and a limp a day later. I believe the store associate's name is Corrine, and I would not advise you to allow her to groom your dog. read more

My husband and I have been bringing our chihuahua here for over a year. We have her nails cut and grinded regularly and have also had her teeth cleaned. We have always been very satisfied. Our dog has never yipped or cried during her nail service. Today however, my husband and I were at the register checking out and I heard loud yipping coming from the grooming room. Brandon, who was doing her nails, was sitting down with her on his lap while grinding. Which I have NEVER seen. Usually the service providers stand while she is placed on the table. He continued to do her nails, and she kept crying loudly and jerking away from him. Brandon also kept looking up as he noticed we were watching him at this point. Her nails were not grinded down well enough - they are still sharp and more jagged than they were to begin with. I'm extremely disappointed. read more

I had a bad experience last year with the groomer named Angie. I didn't realize my dogs bottom was not cleaned nor had it been shaved it was just left messy. When I got home I noticed he did not look clean & I immediately called Petsmart to share my findings & was greeted by Krissy a groomer also. Krissy was very kind & apologetic & requested I bring my dog back so she could personally take care of the issue. I was very happy with Krissy's eagerness to help & I asked her would it be ok if I brought my dog back in 2 days because I had an appointment at Banfield & I didn't want to do the running back in forth that day & she said sure. I arrived in 2 days after my dogs Banfield appointment & Krissy could not believe the condition my dogs bottom was left in. Krissy took my dog to the back gave him a mini-bath cleaned & shaved his bottom, blow dryed him & she cleaned his whiskers because they were left a bit tangled also. I want to apologize to Krissy from the bottom of my heart because my review should have been prepared as soon as this wonderful service was provided. The care & kindness we received that day was overwhelming & it saved me making a report about Angie's lack of care for my dog because this review would have been just 1 star had Krissy not stepped in to assist us. My experience with Brandon who is also a groomer has always been wonderful & he has taken great care of my dog when he has groomed him also. Brandon is always knowledgeable when I call to make an appointment & his customer service skills warm my heart because he remembers me & always asks how I've been. If I have any special request or inquires about my dog Brandon makes sure I am taken care of with no problem at all. I can honestly say I look forward to making my dogs grooming appointment with Brandon because he always makes me laugh. I had my dog groomed today & this is the longest my dog has ever gone without his 6 week bath so needless to say he was a bit scruffy. Well Laura groomed my dog today & I was so happy when I saw him because he was beautiful. Laura, took her time dematting his fur & he was a fluffy white fur ball again with sparkling white teeth. When my dog walked his hair was blowing in the wind & you could tell he had his confidence back after getting all the stink off...lol. I took about 20 pictures of him because he looked so great. I had to call Laura to thank her for such a wonderful job on my baby. Please have your dogs groomed by Krissy, Brandon or Laura & you will not be disappointed. I would steer clear of Angie, hopefully it was just a bad day for her but I'm not willing to find out. read more

I remember coming here as a child and bringing my lab in to pick out his new toys and treats every month! I used to love coming into this store! Now it's like a ghost town with no customer service! I went in looking for a certain brand of dog food walked up and down the aisles searching for the food! Then went up and down the aisle searching for an employee to help me.... Saw no one, then went to the register thinking someone was there! There was not so I just left! This place is kinda far for me and I only used to come here for the memories and to bring my new puppy to gets treats and toys! So sadly I don't drive out of my way to go here anymore but I would return only if I didn't need to speak to a representative and I know exactly what I was getting. read more
