Words simply cannot describe Megan's passion for her job. I was referred to Megan by two friends...one who had used her services to train her pitbull and the other a BARCs employee. I needed help to train Piper my 3+ year old pit mix. She is one of 4 dogs residing in my home. I turned to Megan for help. My lack of training was apparent as Piper was the alpha dog out of our pack and even our home, however what I quickly learned from Megan was Piper was co-dependent on me. Her confidence was low and she wouldn't interact with any dog due to worrying about me. Megan welcomed her in and started her on an intense training program for 3+ weeks. Patience is a virtue and Piper pushed every button Megan had, Piper is like that. When asked to work she was often like "no, not now you can however rub my belly." Megan made her realize she was no longer Miss Alpha. Piper quickly learned commands and began to blossom. She was running and playing all while training and learning those valuable skills Megan taught daily. I would get daily videos and photos to assure me that training was progressing, successful and Piper was thriving. After two weeks, I too began training with Megan two days a week to ensure Piper's transition back in to the home would be successful. Megan was there every step of the way. You can teach an old dog new tricks. Megan has a way with animals that is innate... she just gets them. Piper is a new dog and one of her brothers who used to stay on different floors to avoid her now lays next to her and even interacts with her. The transformation in my dog is unbelievable. Megan has been incredible with our dog. We adopted him from a rescue organization and knew he was not good with strangers and if not approached slowly and in a very specific way may bite. Since he came from an abusive situation, he needed to learn not all people are bad and how to deal with his own anxiety. The best way to show how he has progressed is through the notes from our dog walker: 06/13 - was clearly on edge and def wouldn't let me leash him up. (lots of elvis lip curls) 07/05 - ugh. today was going so well and then we had a close call 07/13 - another good day but I don't feel comfortable sending any of my other walkers over until i've worked with him a bit more. 07/27 - HIRE Megan! 08/02 - doing really great. no issues leashing up,etc. i brought a new friend for him today (charlie) and the instantly loved each other. 08/14 - so nice to meet the dog. our meeting went great! no snarls or growls :) he let me leash him right up and was ready to go out!he had a great walk with his new friends gave him treats :) 08/15 - he was all wags when i showed up :) 08/30 - love my visits with him! we are such buddies now! Our sweet dog went from super high anxiety and reactive to everyone, to a calm dog who (mostly) listens. What do I have to say about Megan? Where do I even start? Megan came into my life after I became a first time dog mom and I couldn't be more thankful for the help and guidance she has provided me and my dog (Luna) with. Aside from being an amazing person, it is clear that Megan is in the right field. I have never seen someone have such a strong connection with any dog she comes across, and I can certainly say Luna gets excited any time she sees Megan. I have used her services for both training purposes and dog walking. Megan is a great trainer and understands the processes in which dogs learn the best and has certainly nailed it down. After any session wit Megan, Luna is significantly more attentive, well behaved, and listens a lot better! I know that if I ever need any help with dog walking I can trust Megan to be above and beyond. Luna and I are both so lucky to have such a great person to trust when it comes to walking or training and I could not reccomend her services enough! Megan is amazingly talented and has been a gift - for both us and our dog! I frantically visited k9dness website in the late spring with a desperate need to help train and correct resource guarding in my 10 week old puppy. She responded almost immediately! From our initial correspondence via email to our first meeting and training session Megan spent time getting to know both our family and our dog, she calmed my fears, and is extremely knowledgeable. We were referred to Megan and her team at K9dness when we were looking for a dogwalker early last year for our two rescues. After a failed local pet training class, we reached out to Megan for training advice for one of our dogs. After a few short sessions, we had a totally different dog-- immediately, you could tell how much calmer and more secure he was. It made for a happier home all around. Our dog is now great on walks and we are able to let her off-leash, when appropriate. I cannot recommend Megan and K9dness enough for any dog training needs! I can't say enough good things about Megan/k9dness! She came recommended by a family friend and I'm so glad I went with Megan! I have two very loving but horribly behaved (my fault) dogs and with a growing family I knew I needed to get some kind of control over the situation. Megan is the Best dog trainer hands down! We had recently gotten our second puppy from the same breeder. Within the first month of having this dog we realized that she had issues. Crying whenever we left the house (all day while we were at work) fighting with our older female dog of the same breed. Our apartment complex had issued us a final warning about the noise and after spending a lot of money of this dog it looked like we were going to have to either get her a new home or get evicted. We found Megan online and she transformed our puppy in a short amount of time the crying stopped. The fighting and aggressiveness ended. Megan has been so incredibly amazing working with our dogs. When my girlfriend and I adopted our dog Sydney it was like she had never walked on a leash. She was also really nervous and never knew how to calm down. Megan was an absolute godsend. She really empowered us with the tools to correct Sydney's behavior. Megan is the best! Megan was able to teach me how to alter my puppy's behavior. She was so patient and understanding as I learned how I needed to change my responses to bad behaviors. I highly recommend Megan as an excellent dog trainer. Our 2 year old shepherd rescue was a flight risk--any time she got out of the house she was running away at top speed. Megan observed us with our dog in our own home for about 30 minutes, and then succinctly diagnosed the problem (us) and taught us how to change her behavior through firm but positive behavioral training. 4 sessions with Megan over 6 weeks (and daily independent practice on our part) later, our pup walks at our side for miles without a leash, recalls instantly, and is an absolute joy. We contacted Megan when we were really at our wits end with our then 1 year old golden retriever, Tennessee. We were struggling with some obedience as well as anxiety issues.
