My hubs who isn't usually the type to make a comment because he's very laid back pointed out to my furbaby's "chopped" up shaved body as well as face. It was upsetting because it's blocky and we could tell they didn't really care at all about the details. I'd rather take her Humane Society Grooming in this case if it's only $5-$10 more because at this point pricewise it's comparable & they do an amazing job. I have gone often to Petsmart especially when I bought an aquarium kit and built it. I bought most of my fish from Petsmart and been really happy. I wouldn't normally do a review of a chain pet store, but the service at this store was so exemplary that I thought it was important to take a moment to give them credit where credit is due. I have two small toy breed dogs that require special prescription dog food. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty darn pricey and normally I was getting regular coupons from the manufacturer that made the price a little bit easier to manage. Royal Canin stopped offering the register discounts and I mentioned that to the cashier at this particular location. She took the time to explain to me that PetsMart will price match with chewy.com and offered to wait while I looked up the price on my phone. The savings was over $.59 PER CAN cheaper by using the Chewy price at the register. When you buy a lot of dog food it really adds up! So despite it being just your ordinary average pet store, this little tip has saved me over $100 in pet food to date. read more

Sold us sick fish (loach), which died a day later. But before we could return the dead loaches, our other fish in the tank ate them. We went to the store and asked for a refund and they refused. We had purchased other fish along with the loaches and they are still living. When we returned to the tank with the loaches they had the same look about them as ours did right before they died. After expressing this to the associates they still refused to give us a refund. Neither associate we spoke to were understanding of the situation, they had an "I could care less, stop bothering me" attitude. read more

I don't usually stop into pet supply stores, but today, my cat fountain failed me (or so I thought) so I needed to replace the unit, since i never seem to be able to get just the little bubbler that runs them. Pet Smart had quite the selection to choose from and since I have their loyalty card, I was able to get it for $69 vs the $94 it was marked. I also took a few minutes to commune with the felines up for adoption, to look at the Herps and the birds. The biggest draw back? The stink of the reptile cages. RACIAL PROFILING; they stated they use a counterfeit pen on all bills $20s and up for every customer. I called to clarify with manager Barbara and then the cashier Took them 10 minutes to find a counterfeit pen when my African American husband went to pay for our dog diapers but when I went to pay they took my $20 no problem... if you use the pen with everyone's bills why did it take you 10+ minutes to find it? This is my home PetSmart, and I absolutely love it. The staff is so outgoing and knowledgeable. Jay specifically is incredible. Not only does she remember me and my pup, but she goes out of her way to spend time answering my detailed questions to make sure I get the best advice for my pups nutritional needs and more. Waited 5 minutes to purchase feeders, nobody asked what I needed. That's fine. I ask for help with some crickets, wait another five minutes. Get bored, look at the non cricket feeders they have. I notice that most of their insects (night crawlers, meal worms, etc) are all dead and mold is growing in one of the containers. Grabbed at semi live looking insect container because at that point I just wanted to leave. An employee kindly walked up to me as I was walking away and asked if I needed help with fish. I tell them I was waiting to be helped with crickets, but I planned on leaving because I didn't have time to wait. Get in line and see several employees talking together and THEN I was approached to see if I needed help with the crickets. Simply avoid coming here if you need crickets or other feeders for reptiles. read more

This location has the worst management I've ever seen. When you're told by the assistant store manager she is not authorized to do refunds that's a problem. I'm not going to go into the details of the issue I had but I was legitimately making a return. I was made to feel as if I was a low down dirty thief and had no business asking for a refund. I've been a customer of this location for over five years and spend a minimum of $200 per month on blue Buffalo dog food. I was so taken back by the unprofessional mannerisms of the store director Josh it blew my mind. Even more mind blowing was the fact that it took someone from Petsmart over a week to contact me. It wasn't until I reached out to the regional district manager I was contacted by the area supervisor. Unbelievable shame on you Petsmart for treating a loyal customer this way. I will never step foot in another one of your locations ever. In today's day and age with brick-and-mortar's closing left and right they need not be so arrogant. I remember once upon a time when Kmart was king of retail along with many others all who are subsequently closing stores left and right because of shitty customer service!! The area supervisor was very professional and understanding when he finally called me. But that being said it still doesn't mitigate the fact that the company showed no concern at all. I'm not much of a crybaby and I don't write crappy reviews because I'm having a bad day. If that's what you think read my previous reviews all of which are generally fair and balanced. This is a great store for all of your pet needs. I love bringing my dog with me, and letting him pick out his own toy. I've never had any problem getting what I need from the store, they always keep everything in stock. The employees at this store are super friendly and you are almost always approached and asked if you need help. Every employee I've dealt with has genuinely loved animals, and my dog has gotten many treats form the cashiers. The only negative thing is that in order to get the best pricing, you have to sign up for their free card. Now, it is free, but I see no reason why you should have to provide your information get the discount. Other then that though, the store is great and if you are in need of pet supplies, this is a great store. read more

Good section of pet supplies, toys, housing, bedding, and general pet things. The prices are a bit high, and Ya you can prolly find it cheaper online, but hey, it's convenient and nice to shop at a place you can bring your pet into. The workers here are great and usually have a smile on. They always greet me if not on the way in than on the way out, even I don't end up buying anything. It's nice to shop here and have the feeling that the worker love animals just as much as you do. All in all I enjoy coming here and getting things my pet needs...and things my pet doesn't really need but gets anyways. read more

After having an unpleasant experience at the Petsmart grooming salon at citrus park, I was a little hesitant to bring my girl in to Petsmart again. I had several recommendations to try the Westchase location, so I made the appointment. My Yorkie poo is a puppy, and she's very shy. From the moment we walked in, she seemed calm. I explained to the groomer our hesitation, and spoke at length about my concerns with the previous groomer. Side note: during the previous visit to citrus park, the groomer called about an hour in, sounding extremely frazzled "I need you to call me about your dog as soon as you can" needless to say, I thought something terrible happened to her. Long story short, she was too scared, and had slight matting on her hind legs. So he shaved her body, left her face, feet, and tail, and said i should take her to the vet to be groomed under sedation. Her nails weren't clipped, ears weren't cleaned, teeth weren't brushed. And I was still charged full price. I paid $60 to bring her home and attempt an at home hair cut. Anyway, getting back to today's visit... Katherine was wonderful. She was kind, she took her time petting and talking to my puppy while I still held her, ensuring she was comfortable before taking her. My puppy came back to me with the cutest haircut, smelling great, with a super cute bow. She wasn't shaking, freaking out, whimpering, any of the things that occurred the last time. I will continue to book appointments with Katherine. I am so thankful that we found her. I highly recommend her services, and highly recommend that you avoid the citrus park location. read more

PetSmart is a great store but avoid the Banfield Vet. Clinic. I always have a long wait and they will recommend test after test to run up your bill. I'm from out of state and my previous vet never tried to run up my bill like Banfield. I've given them multiple chances and have since gone to another vet that cares about my pet and doesn't order unnecessary tests. Pet owners beware. read more

The vet was great saw my dog the same day and ended up performing surgery. But there is always a long wait to get in. The groomers on the other hand are very rude and unprofessional. I actually walked in and one groomer was yelling at a dog that he was trying to groom. I won't be bringing my dog back for grooming service. I don't need attitude from someone who is suppose to be providing me with a service. I've been taking my dog to Petsmart for 10 years and just relocated here. Very, very disappointed. read more

Hey PetSmartI went into your Oldsmar, FL location today to get my dog Abby's nails. I told the tech Willy that my dog Abby was good on grooming tables because she was a retired show dog so doing her nails was easy. The only reason I don't do it is because my nail grinding died so its cheaper to have you do it. I've never had an issue at this any location until now. I took her in explained her situation and instead of listening to the OWNER. The according to the grooming manager they were the "professionals" and disregarded my request. Two people physically held my dog Abby, on the cold tile floor to do her nails because it was "easier way to do it." WHAT? After I already said she is good with grooming table you choose this?! This makes no sense if you even know about dogs. Yes, she is very big- but any dog being held down on the ground will be distressed and possibly aggressive. I spoke to the manager and stood by this. Everyone there needs to retained. Abby came out very stressed out and I'm still trying to clam her down. And you employees say it's my dogs fault! F them! I'll even had a problem util today. I've been there 3 times before. read more
