They squeezed me in last minute with a puppy none the less! It was unfortunate that my pup needed vet care before I was able to send him to The Doghouse. She loved to tear up newspapers, tissues and all sorts of paper. She ate headphones and remotes. She listened when she wanted to and turned everything into a keep agame. She is still the happy loving pup she always was but now she has boundaries. She doesn't pull me on walks, she doesn't jump up like she used to and will stop when given a command. She has yet to grab a remote, we are still careful with them especially when we aren't in the room. The transformation it incredible! Carrie, Samantha and the whole Doghouse gang are highly recommended! Thank you for laying a good foundation for us to follow! We are happy and proud to be part of the Doghouse family! Update: Poppy has been home a while and she and we continue to learn and grow. People who meet her are amazed she is so young yet so well behaved! We can not thank all the gang at the Doghouse enough, especially Sam! She has been patient with us and continues to help as needed.

I have a 3 year old pit-mix named Blu. He is not absurdly disobedient he just had a few problems…read moresuch as extreme pulling on the leash and easily excitable around other dogs and new people. Angel was a very nice individual and the training price was very appealing compared to other trainers. I was not informed that the training relied heavily on the e-collar until I arrived at the training location to drop Blu off. I have already had an e-collar at home for a while and it only improves his behavior when he wears it. I thought the training would be something like positive reinforcement training or any other training technique besides using the e-collar. I went with it only because I figured she was a professional dog trainer and not a first time dog owner like myself, so she probably knows how to properly train with it. I went with the three week board and train program that is offered because it was the best option for my work schedule. From day one of the three week board and train program Angel assured me that communication would be top tier and I wouldn't have to worry about that. She was very nice and said everything any dog owner would want to hear when entrusting their dog with a complete stranger. Nonetheless during the three weeks it was extremely hard to get in touch with Angel. I would text for a check in to make sure everything was going good every now and then, but I wouldn't receive a response for days on end which was very alarming and I was extremely worried. I gave Angel the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to be that she was busy training Blu. However this lack of communication continued throughout the entire three weeks which is unacceptable. On the day of pick up Angel offered to take me on a walk through in Home Depot with Blu to demonstrate the process of continuing the training at home. This walk through was explanatory and she provided useful information that I could use at home with Blu to keep up the improvements. This was a pleasant experience and I felt she explained and demonstrated very well. Once we were departing from Home Depot taking Blu home I noticed wounds on his elbows paws and his back legs. I immediately messaged Angel and asked for an explanation. I waited two weeks to give her a chance to respond before leaving my review, but I have yet to hear anything. I am very frustrated that Blu was sent home with injuries and no explanation as to what happened. Upon returning home Blu's behavior such as jumping on strangers from excitement seems to be the only major improvement. It still happens occasionally but not with everyone like before. He also continues to pull on walks even when I use the e-collar, the pulling seems to ease once he's exhausted himself. I follow all the routines and instructions Angel provided at Home Depot, but Blu reverts back to his previous behavior anytime the collar is off. I was informed that it would take time and repetition to see real improvements but it seems as though his good behavior is reliant on the e-collar. Angel informed me this would only happen if I put the e-collar on only when going on walks. However he wears it all day and I remove it at night as instructed. Overall the experience was not great but I would assume this is the reason the other training prices are so expensive. I believe the service was extremely overpriced for what I received, and I feel as though I've just paid $1400 for an e-collar and a few pointers.

There aren't enough good things I could say about Angel and her work with our Baylee girl. Still in…read moreher "puppy" stage, Baylee came with a lot of energy, excitement, and curiosity. Angel was able to use all of that in a constructive way to help Baylee learn some boundaries. Thankfully Angel was very open with communication and sent updates frequently which was a big ease on our minds because we felt we could trust Angel, even not knowing a whole lot about her beforehand. We picked up our Vizsla yesterday and there is a huge difference in discipline. Obviously the first week back with us will be the most challenging, but if we do our part, there's no doubt in my mind that these new "tricks" will stick for good. We highly recommend Angel as a loving and hard working dog trainer.

I explained to her that there were a few areas that he and I could use some help in, and we got the ball rolling. Brent showed up on the day of pickup and walked me through the process of what to expect during the time he would be training Kona and what kind of updates I would get. I got daily pictures and updates on his status. All I can say is wow, when Kona came back, he was a different dog. Brent spent about 2.5 hours with my family explaining how to integrate the training he used into our lives and how to use the tools he provided us with to make sure Kona succeeds. I think he trains the owners more than the dogs (lol). After we went through his training it was time to put it to use, he had my wife, and I walk Kona, and he gave us tips on how to correct behavior and relax and enjoy the walk. Thank you to Brent and his staff for helping us help Kona be a successful rescue and a huge part of our family.

Our dog went through professional behavioral training through another company years ago. He had a solid baseline for learning and commands (sit, heal, place, etc.). Our primary issue was our dog's reactivity. We needed more help on how we as owners could manage this better. We decided to go with Ridgeside K-9 based on their stellar reviews and 4 week behavior modification board and train. Brent picked our dog up and was very thorough on what the plan was. We received a picture/video just about every evening with minimal communication attached. We were trusting their process. During the turn over, everything went well. We did notice our dog had lost a good amount of weight. He was never over weight by any means, but now we can really feel his ribs, spine, and hip bones. Nothing unhealthy though. We also noticed his bark was very different, and we figured it was due to him barking in the kennel during the turn over. Just over a week went by, and our dog's bark was still extremely weak. That coupled with our dog's weight loss had us a little uneasy. When confronting Brent over a phone call out of concern for our dog he became extremely defensive. He heatedly said our dog about drove him insane for 2 weeks due to his barking (which he never thought to mention previously), and then asked if we see a difference in him considering the training. I said not significantly. As mentioned, we've worked our dog for years, and the technique Brent taught us regarding our dog's reactivity is new to us. It had been just over a week and we were still learning to manage and get the results we need. However, before I could elaborate on any of this Brent completely flew off the handle. He was literally YELLING at me over the phone, saying I don't know what I'm talking about, we are the problem, and that I am a person who worries too much. I simply wanted to talk to him out of concern for my dog, and I felt like that meant nothing to him. My husband intervened on the phone due to Brent's disrespect toward me and it only got worse from there. We didn't get a hint of this instability throughout our prior interactions with Brent, and this left both of us completely in shock. Once things cooled down, Brent went back into a mode of wanting to help. Although this was appreciated, the damage was done. Brent has a lot of passion and pride in his work, but his temper concerns us greatly. It was like a switch, and there was ABSOLUTELY no excuse for that level of disrespect towards us.
