We absolutely love our 5 month old Cavapoo, and we always knew the stigma behind little dogs barking, but we were not mentally prepared for just how much our little furbaby loved to talk (he gets that from his mama). Between the puppy teething bites, sled dog walks, terrorizing the mailman, and little dog ego, we knew we needed help. We called Sharon with BarkBusters, and she is an absolute game changer. At home training, No treats, No Tricks needed. Our furbaby is 6lbs of fierceness, and like his dad he wants to establish dominance in everything he does, including over our 2 cats and the entire household. In just one visit, Sharon taught us to think like a dog and how to lead the pack. Learning how to actually say NO in a language dogs understand has been groundbreaking for us. We've had dogs before, but we learned more in one session with Sharon than we did in a lifetime on our own. The future is so bright for our puppy Oliver, and we have Sharon and Barkbusters to thank for that! read more

We love Sharon! We asked Sharon to come help us with our little Staffie who had shown some aggression toward other dogs and failure to recall. We already had a well-behaved, but sensitive black lab mix. Sharon spent hours with us talking about canine psychology and working on attentiveness training. We worked with the dogs on the first visit, both at home, walking around the neighborhood, and at unfamiliar locations so we encountered another dog. The first day of training made an IMMEDIATE, huge difference; we were shocked and thrilled. The black lab was incorporated into the training too. She talked plainly with us and was realistic about interventions we would and would not be able to make for the dogs. She was awesome, we've seen lasting effects with our Staffie, and we plan on having our second session soon to follow up on our homework. Thanks Bark Busters! read more

I think people need to understand exactly what they are getting for their $'s. You are getting one 3 hour visit which is very thorough. The training is impressive and effective while he worked with our dog. My dogs' behavior was miraculous. At the end of your 3 hours you are faced with the reality that you will not see the trainers again unless you call and ask for help ( such is the lifetime training). This review is here just to advise others who fail to throughly read the fine print. This is not your traditional weekly training. read more

Friendly staff and my 7 month old Labrador loves it! I especially love the drive up drop off and pick up. Super convenient!

We are definitely not impressed with this service. I find it interesting that you can't even leave a review on their page...maybe because it's a joke....and very expensive. Never ever have I ever heard of basically barking at your dog, which is what the recommend. They came once, we paid them a buttload of money and that was basically it. No follow-up, no weekly visit, not squat. Basically if you want them to follow-up, you have to call them and keep calling. Terrible. Got their money and disappeared. We are very annoyed. Total waste....DO NOT USE THESE DOG TRAINERS!! read more

Sharon was terrific with our two dogs! We could not believe how they turned into two such angels! Her methods were easily understood and easy to execute. She was very patient and compassionate. We really enjoyed having her in our home. read more

Sharon is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I had my training session with her yesterday for my dog Cinnamon. Sharon understood all of her needs and was able to explain it to me. I learned so much about my dog such as how to lead her and how to use the correct body language and tones while communicating with her. I feel much more confident about keeping her. I know changing my dogs behaviors won't happen overnight but after yesterday's lessons i feel like i have developed the skills to see a change very soon. Although my dog did bite Sharon during the training, she handled it very professionally and calmly while showing me what to do in the future if it happens again. I would recommend Sharon to all dog owners. read more

Pam has been extremely helpful with our two labs. Immediately after our first sessions we incorporated what she taught us and the dogs were very responsive. Her knowledge of dog behavior and how to be proactive and not reactive really helps. read more

I have an appx. 135lb Cane Corso named Zoey, who has territorial/ protective behavior. I was nervous about her reaction to the trainer, but Sharon gave us great tips to ease her nerves before she even arrived. Sharon is a dog whisperer! I couldn't believe my eyes at how well behaved Zoey was and how comfortable she became with Sharon; all after one session! I am so excited for our future and I highly recommend Bark Busters! read more

We started having aggression / insecurity issues with our lab after we decided to add a second dog to the house. We rescued her from a shelter at about a year old and thought the dogs would just get along. We were wrong. Our lab would go after the new dog very randomly. We became nervous because the new pup is much smaller than our lab mix and when the lab would go after her she would just roll over on her back but the lab would continue to go after her. New pup could not even walk by our lab without him lunging at her and wanting to fight. We started considering the reality that we may need to give back the new dog. We tried a lot of things to try to get our lab to respond differently to the new pup but realized after calling Sharon that we were doing a lot of the wrong things, which was making the whole situation worse. Long story short, we called Sharon and she spent a lot of time with us to address the problems we were having. We were at our wits end, but Sharon helped instill a confidence in us that we would be able to fix this no problem. After two long visits to our home and many many things to practice, our dogs are best friends after only a few weeks of working with them. I wouldn't have believed the behavior transformation without seeing it for myself. This is an investment that you will not regret. We went ahead and got the lifetime plan, and feel awesome that Sharon is only a call away when we need her. The training is worth it. Sharon is worth it. If we had to do it again, we would!! read more

What an amazing experience! Sharon is so knowledgeable, patient, and she's great with my Jax. He responded so well to her! We learned immediately how to read his body language, how to walk on a leash, and how to lead and not follow the dog. We went from him dragging us all over the neighborhood and not responding to commands, to him walking beside us and responding when called. My dog is terrified of his crate and Sharon gave us the techniques we needed to leave him free at home while we're gone. I am so impressed with her knowledge and ability to switch to another method based on the dogs needs. We look forward to seeing Sharon again and continuing to work on getting our little Jax socialized and keeping his anxiety down. read more

Let me start by being completely honest here. The first thing I realized from our first training with Sharon is, there truly aren't any bad dogs just bad owners. Now don't get offended, I, like potentially you reading this review right now thought well I'm giving him/her the best food, greatest toys, best care and love what more can I do but just accept the certain behaviors that aren't all that great. That was me. Until I realized it was time to start seeking help for the behaviors that he portrayed towards strangers (strangers that were simply walking by minding their own business) he would start barking and just going off. This held us back from taking him to dog parks and walking him at all times of the day because we were afraid of his reactions. He's a bully so you already know all of the judgment they already face based on breed. This was deterring him from his true greatness. Let me cut this a little short by just explaining that on the FIRST training with Sharon, we covered so much and the way she identified the issues and came up with the solutions instantly -- so awesome. We saw a DRASTIC change in ONE SESSION. We were able to walk our pup that afternoon without him barking and going off on people, thanks to her tricks. He has some more work to be done, but just based on the first session I can confidently say, he is going to be off leash walking with us by the end of this year! That is insane! Let me tell you you and pup NEED Sharon in your life! She will show you how YOU can teach your dog to do what the alpha (you) need him to do. I was a little afraid being that our pup is so big compared to miss petite but never judge a book by the cover because let me tell you SHE GETS IT DONE! 100% recommend! We are anxiously awaiting our next sessions with her :) extremely informational as well! read more

Sharon spent 3 hours with our puppy, Oreo and I yesterday. I cannot say enough good things about this training. She spent time training me how to communicate with Oreo, the way she understands. I am so glad I consulted a professional trainer, instead of using google to teach me how to train my dog. I am looking forward to continued training, as Oreo grows and matures. Thank you, Sharon for your patience and efforts. It is obvious that you are passionate about what you do. read more

I hired Sharon because I was a new puppy owner and I was having a tough time. I was exhausted and frustrated about my puppy's biting. I felt guilty that I didn't understand him better and I was desperate for help. Sharon helped me to understand why he was doing certain things and she provided me with tools to help curb some of the less-desirable behavior. Her advice really helped to turn things around and was truly indispensable. All of my training was virtual, so I can't speak to what the in-person experience is like. Overall, I would say it was money well spent. read more

I contacted this busines...they want you to fill out online surveys and give them all of your contact info just to send them an email. Instead of replying to my questions by email, I got two generic spammy emails and then someone called me. She didn't want to answer when I asked her for a price for the dog training services. She kept trying to dodge the question and tell me it depends. When she finally answered, I found out that it starts at $350 for one session. No wonder she tried to avoid answering! read more

Sharon was fantastic! Within the first 5 minutes my mind was blown with how much control she had over our wild little 6 month old puppy, and I feel empowered with the tools she provided us. She really took the time to address our concerns and identify other areas we could work on. And our puppy loved her! Would highly recommend. read more

First, I would like to disclose that I never became a client. I spoke to someone named Daniel who made the experience sound very positive. Daniel did not give me his last name, or his call return information. So I then tried to call him back on the number that showed up on my cell phone when he called me. However, when I tried to call him back at that number, I got a recording that said, "This is a non-working number." To me that means this non-working number was programmed to show up as coming from his phone, even though it wasn't his phone number. -- that is the only way that can happen. I work in cybersecurity and I'm familiar with these types of tools. I then read the other reviews on Yelp and was put off by some...especially the one that said Marsha acted like follow-up visits were a burden to her. I decided these were enough red flags not to use the service. read more

I am extremely thrilled and delighted that I hired Sharon to work with my puppy Niko. From the moment Sharon arrived at my home for a consultation, I immediately knew that she would be able to provide myself and Niko with the behavioral training needed to address his separation anxiety and barking concerns. After our initial meeting, I was able to apply a few techniques that were helpful in addressing Niko's behavioral issues. With a household of two dogs, I needed to ensure that one dogs' behavior would not negatively impact the other. Sharon is patient, knowledgeable, and professional in her approach. She allowed me the opportunity to perform return demonstration to ensure that her teaching was clearly understood. She was able to answer all of my questions and my dogs adore her. Sharon provided me with a detailed schedule of reminders to implement throughout my in-home training sessions. Being able to train a dog without the use of treats and punishment was unheard of to me and I wondered if this training would even be successful. But after I met with Sharon, it was clear that she is an expert in this field of dog training. I sincerely believe that every dog parent should have the opportunity to work with a Certified Behavioral Dog Therapist. Due to Sharon's training with both Niko and myself, I am confident that I will become a better dog owner. I really don't know what I would have done had I not found her. Sharon helped out so much in just the first session. My 8 month old Siberian Husky, Zelda, took to the training quickly. The guidance not only helped Zelda but it helped train me as well. Sharon is knowledgeable, timely, passionate about care, has patience, and really customizes the training to fit the combination of fury family member and household. I greatly appreciate her services and look forward to many more productive sessions. I would recommend her for anyone seeking to have a closer connection with their fury family member. read more

Sharon has been a huge help for us and our one year old Pitbull mix, Tucker. He is a smart and highly energetic boy but tends to think he is the king of the castle and often forgets his manners. We were having issues with him listening to us (unless we had a treat) as well as jumping up, nipping, and pulling on his leash. Sharon has taught us how to communicate with Tucker in a way he understands, instead of having to use treats to get him to do what we need him to. She is very patient and explains her reasoning behind everything, which helps us better understand Tucker. We are learning how to give Tucker what he wants (which is usually just attention!) but doing so on our terms so he grows to respect us and see us as his leaders. We have had three sessions with her so far and each time notice a huge improvement in Tucker's behavior. One time she even met us at the dog park to practice with lots of distractions. Sharon is always accommodating and available to answer any of our questions by text. She responds quickly with lots of detail to help us stay on track. She also recommends toys and other training tools to suit our needs, like making sure we have the correct harness, etc. Other issues she has helped us with include greeting people and other dogs politely, crate training, anxiety, begging for food, recall, and more. Tucker loves it when Sharon comes over and we do too! Thank you Sharon for helping us gain control of our silly playful pup - we are all much happier as a result of your guidance and support. We would highly recommend Sharon and Bark Busters to anyone seeking any type of dog training. read more

Sharon is a gifted dog trainer and explains concepts well to the owner. I adopted a 10 year old Maltese with some anxiety issues and Sharon has been so patient with me as I learn how to best communicate with Burberry so that he has the smoothest transition possible. Her passion and love for dogs is evident and greatly appreciated. She gives you the tools to speak in a language that your dog understands. I've learned how many of the things I done in the past were more for my benefit and actually gave a mixed signal to my pet. I now truly understand when people say it's the owner who needs to be trained and not necessarily the dog. I highly recommend Sharon and Bark Busters. read more

WOW, we just had an awesome training session!! Sharon is great, we played phone tag and texted each other all week, lol. We set our appointment for Saturday, Sharon met with my entire family, my daughter(10), son(14) and my oldest daughter(19) skyped in from college, and my young lady. Comet is our wonderful puppy (8 months), is having trouble with being house broken. Sharon spent 4 hrs with my family and it was the BEST! We learned so much about COMET's personality and how to read him. So is definitely the "Dog Whisper", lol. I will recommend her and the Bark Busters to anyone and everyone!! read more

Sharon provided great customer service! As a Bark Busters's representative, Sharon came in when we needed her the most and taught us how to relate to our dog and how our dog is supposed to relate to us. Our Greta- a full blooded Germen Rottweiler, is now trained in the Bark Busters - loose leach trained way. We was playing in a park and saw another dog pulling its owner. Greta sat quietly and waited next to me while the other dog pulled its owner. The owner of the misbehaving dog watched Greta sitting and being so good. I was very impressed with how Greta took to the Bark Busters Training and how Sharon helped us display good behavior. After the other dog left the area (so we thought) we let Greta run around and play on command. Greta was having fun until I noticed the misbehaving dog owner around the corner watching us. I called Greta, she came immediately to me, put her back on leach and she (Greta) again sat quietly and watched the misbehaving dog pass by. We left and went to a dog park to have more fun. We could not have done all of this without the professionalism and wonderful person that is Sharon!!! Thank you Sharon for being you!!! God bless you!!! read more

I searched online for dog trainers after my once lovable English Bulldog started becoming aggressive towards our other dogs, small pugs, that live in the house. I had come to the point with his aggression that I had considered removing him from our home because I could no longer trust him around the other animals. But, at 7 years old, it was hard to give up a member of the family, so I decided to find a dog trainer to see if we could work things out. At first, I was looking for the "cheapest" trainer but after reading Sharon's profile, I decided to call and make an appointment to see if she would us. Immediately when she came in the door she assessed Sam and saw issues that I originally stated in my online questionnaire and other behaviors that needed to be corrected such as jumping and door rushing. She talked with my husband and I and demonstrated techniques for about 3 hours before even discussing price. I was so happy that in the short time she was there, I was already seeing positive progress and thought that her training would really help Sam and begin to restore the order in our household. I purchased the lifetime training package and worked with Sam for about 4-5 weeks before having Sharon come back for another session. In that time between sessions I have seen DRAMATIC improvements in Sam's behavior from simple changes such as feeding 2x daily instead of once and implementing daily walks with leash control. Sam still has bouts of "training forgetfulness" but he has not attacked any of the pugs since the first session and I now feel much better leaving him alone with the other animals without being separated. I can't thank Sharon enough for taking the time to help my husband and I understand what was going on with Sam and take back the "alpha" role of the family. Sharon has saved our family and I highly recommend her for your dog training needs. I wish I would have reached out sooner because she really has a way with speaking "dog language". read more
