I used this service about 20 times for babysitting needs. The app lets you choose from a list of providers to send the job to but that doesn't mean you're going to get any of those sitters, in fact I never once got any of the sitters I chose from. That being said, we had one woman who repeatedly babysat for us and things seemed fine with her the first 6 times or so. Then one day my 11 year old tells me he and his little sister (3 year old) were left in the toy are of target for half an hour alone. Being that kids don't have the greatest sense of time I asked how he was sure it was that long, he stated there was a clock on the wall that he looked at. I asked if the sitter said anything when she left or came back and he said she acted like nothing happened and just asked why his sister was upset (she was getting restless and hungry and my son was doing his best to make sure they stayed in the same spot). He doesn't have a phone so no way to reach the sitter or anyone in this situation. I checked with the store and they reviewed the tape and confirmed the timeframe. Aside from this incident the sitter was late twice, which as I mentioned to the company that normally I wouldn't even bring up but when you pair that with the target incident and other things, it paints an overall poor picture of the services. Another sitter we had (that I had not met before, remember the send you whoever is available and you may not even get to speak to the person before they show up, as was the case with this young woman), let the kids play in the rain on a chilly day and didn't have them shower or anything afterwards. Again, in the grand scheme of things not a huge deal but that's an odd choice to make when it's your first time babysitting for someone. It's not like my kids are used to playing in the rain so this isn't something they would've asked to do normally. Just odd. Yet another time when we were due to have a new sitter she texted me at 1am to introduce herself. Overall for the price they charge it's not even close to being worth it. You're better off finding someone on Facebook and interviewing/calling references.

She is so caring and I know our fur babies (cats, dogs and rabbits), as well as our turtle, fish and even my husband's hawk (he is a falconer) are in excellent hands. She sends pictures of our pets which eases the worry while we are gone. We have had other pet sitters and Kathy has been the absolute best. I can go away without worrying at all. We have some odd things, (feeding the hawk raw quail) that we needed done and she has been a trooper in doing them all and then some, like bringing in the mail and putting away garbage cans from the street and even watering plants. Kathy has also done some in home dog training consults with our dogs and I really like her style of dog training, very practical, respectful, and realistic. She is so knowledgeable and she's such a joy to be around. We are really going to miss her when she moves but are so grateful to have had her in our lives over the years. She spends at least 30 minutes with my cat at each visit, writes notes to me about the visit, how my cat seemed, what his behavior was like, how he was eating, etc.. Sue also writes down everything she did while she was there at my house, i.e. she doesn't just dip the litter box---if it smells, she empties and cleans it! She sweeps up the litter, and wipes out the sink at every visit. When I get home from my trips, I always find a happy cat and my house in very clean condition. I was excited to bring them back for a second appointment. I scheduled their appointment for 12 PM. I received a call at 1030 AM from the shop asking if I wanted to come in earlier than 12. I said "I will try to make it when I can." At 1201 I received a call from the shop asking when I was going to be there. The woman said, "I have been waiting since 1030. Are you almost here because I have to leave soon." I never promised to be there at a certain time other than their scheduled appointment which was at 12. Each of my dog's baths take at least half an hour so it did not make sense that she said she had to leave soon. Unprofessional and rude that this woman is frustrated that I did not come in earlier to accommodate HER.
