While we never used the services here, I did tour it as a contender for boarding my dog for 6 days. The facility was one of my top picks in terms of cleanliness and accommodation. We ended up going with another facility because they never offered daycare on Sunday. My dog would have been in her suite all day with only potty breaks and no exercise. There also wasn't an outdoor play area. The facility we did go with offered 20% off for new customers along with a military discount. They also offered a free assessment whereas they want to charge $25 here. These were things that made choose another facility along with larger play areas. read more

Maxi's first visit to the spa was very well received by him and I. Making appointment was easy on the phone .when I walked in Shawn was at the front desk he checked us in. I gave him all the documentation Max is up-to-date on all his vaccines. I met Melanie the groomer. She was pleasant handed over the leash. Max walked back in. Two hours later I picked up a beautifully coiffed, Golden doodle mini, there was no stress for him. He was very comfortable with this groomer as he had been nervous for the past grooming experiences. They were loud and he's a nervous dog. The shop is quiet and very beautiful, full of dog finding things treats and blankets and frames and lots of fun. ATTENTION dog lovers do NOT support red hydrant. My family and I have been trusting red hydrant to take care of our pups grooming needs for almost a year now & have always been satisfied with the services. But today we were treated horrifically by the staff. Our pups were brought in to be groomed when we noticed it was taking a bit longer than usually so we called in to check. We were told by the staff that both dogs had "Pooped themselves three times & rolled around in it MULTIPLE TIMES, so they were having to be bathed multiple times because of this" . We were shocked to hear this because our dogs have always been well behaved before. At this time we were not trying to place any malicious intent on the staff at red hydrant, we just wanted to understand how our dogs could have had an accident 3 TIMES in 2 HOURS. Straight away the staff (Lindsay) got defense & said any abuse against dogs could not have made them poop themselves in 2 hours. I was alarmed by this statement and defensive behavior. We were just trying to figure out what happened to our pups & we were met with aggressive remarks back. I'm not sure what lindsay's position is with red hydrant but I would not feel comfortable with her around my dogs again or any dogs for that matter. read more

I've been to their old location a couple years ago. I found myself close by to here and had to stop in. They are a nice boutique and pet spa. Different items for your pet can be found here like snacks, toys, apparel, leashes, and collars. They have treats and snacks as I mentioned, but not big bags of food. I'd come here for a nice doggie present. They also have pet spa services. I didn't look into that at all since I have a groomer for my dog. They have been open for a while at their previous location so I know they are pretty established. Check them out! They are very personable and helpful! read more

We've been taking our Cavalier King Charles to the spot for several months but always found the owner, Roman, extremely rude. Today it was over the top. We had an appointment at 4 o'clock and it was confirmed via email and text. He calls at 3:30 wanting to know where we were because our appointment was at 3:15. We pulled up the email And in fact it said 4 o'clock. He didn't care. He blamed it on his email system. He's a horrible, horrible person. He's gutless. I would avoid this business at all cost. This is THE BEST dog salon ever. We have been with them for 15+ years and will never go to a different groomer. They give the best haircuts, and do exactly what you ask. They always give our boys little bandanas and we used to have a female and they would give her cute bows time to time. When our little girl passed they were so kind and sent a card with their condolences. The compassion they have for everyone's "kids" is something you won't find anywhere else. AVOID. Picture attached is the inside of my labradoodles ear morning after she was groomed at red hydrant. They told us she had some matts on her chest and chin and she would have to be cut shorter than what was originally discussed, but said they would keep her as long as possible and as pictured, they shaved her ears down to the skin. NEVER was this discussed that it was ok to shave her down so close to the skin. Now my poor baby has been suffering with cuts inside BOTH of her ears! We are having to bring her into the vet because of this horrible hack job of a haircut! Not to mention they charged us $120!! Unbelievably upset and would like to warn others so this does not happen to them. When my fiancé called Roman at Red Hydrant he had no resolution or sympathy for the fact that they completely did something unwarranted and honestly cruel! I would absolutely not recommend Red Hydrant. Do NOT bring your dog here unless he is fully trained and perfectly well behaved. If you do not, they will call you to come pick up your dog who has misbehaved, charge you full price and tell you that you need to get your dog trained. Martin the groomer cannot handle one year old dogs such as our one year old labradoodle. Luis was great before he quit. I believe Red Hydrants niche is old dogs who are angels. We picked up our dog and he was not even dry from a bath, his beard was not even cleaned and they charged us a full price of $66. We will never be back here and I hope you never go. read more

The new owners are renovating and the store is changing a lot: expanding, redecorating, and getting new personnel. Not only is there still a focus on grooming and the boutique, but a new focus on boarding and daycare. Taking a tour and meeting the staff you can really tell how much everyone cares about the animals, and you can see how well they manage their animals. I bring my dog here for nail trims because my dog refuses to let me trim his nails! I have to say the place is always clean and my dog is treated with care. The front of the spa has some of the neatest things for sale. From dog toys to collars, pet care products, custom dog beds and art, picture frames and even a tableware line that is so charming. Behind the front counter you will notice a large "doggy daycare" play area and many grooming rooms off from there. I have to say I've found they are a bit pricier when compared to other pet spas in the area, but I haven't found anyone who is able to trim my dogs nails as short as they do without drawing blood! They are filed smooth and he is in and out in 5 minutes. If you call early in the day they can typically find an open spot to fit you in. read more

I am incredibly disappointed in the professional courtesy of this company. As the owner of a high-needs, rescue dog, where my dog struggles to trust others, given the fact that two separate shelters have tried to have him put down, it was a relief to find that Red Hydrant specifically addresses taking care of dogs with special needs. Once our local veterinarian stopped grooming, the first place they recommended was Red Hydrant. Upon making our dog's first appointment, we explained his needs and his issues, and was hesitantly still accepted as a client. He was the first dog seen and was promptly in and out, with great service and a great cut. I'm not upset about that - I'm upset at this company's inability to communicate. Now, in an attempt to make a second appointment, we were hesitantly, but firmly told that our dog should not come back. Rather than be professional at the end of the first appointment, and decline to see him again, they have led us to believe that this would be a new place for him - one he would to grow trust with. Now, we are left in the same predicament as last time - trying to find a quality groomer who will not forcibly sedate a dog in order to do business. For shame on this company. read more

THE OWNER IS A HORRIBLE MONSTER. I refuse to even call him a human being as there is no sign of humanity in him. The owner is absolutely terrible! He has no customer service skills and no heart. He is extremely patronizing and needs to be knocked off of his high horse. Never in my life have I been treated so abhorrently. I wanted to support a small business in these hard times but this was the biggest mistake. I received a call this morning with the owner rudely declaring to me that I had an appointment at 8am today and where was ... am I coming inI?! He made it a point to say that he had confirmed with me yesterday. I had confirmed it with him but the time was not discussed when I confirmed it and I innocently got it mixed up and thought it was at 9am. I had set an alarm and everything thinking it was for sure at 9am. Let me point out that, mistakes happen, I'm HUMAN, I didn't maliciously decide to miss my appointment and come at the wrong time. There's a lot going on right now ... something called Covid! We all have enough to deal with these days. In these trying times we should all treat each other with kindness, respect and understanding. Besides all that, I profusely apologized even though he was talking to me in such a patronizing tone and continued to make me feel like a horrible person despite all my apologies. After I had profusely apologized for the confusion I asked if he would still be able to take my dog today and he said yes but he didn't know if I he could get him in and then mumbled about how he would have to be there all day and they would see what they could do. I thought this was a very odd way to answer a simple question but I felt so horrible for not being there on time and didn't want to inconvenience them with losing an appointment so I rushed on over there. I thought my berating had finally ended after that initial call but when I got there it continued. He gave me this annoyed look when I checked in and said in a patronizing tone to me how he would try to squeeze him and wasn't sure if they could get him done. He was so rude to me despite the fact that the moment I got in there I again apologized for the mix up. Then he continued to patronizingly ask me if I get the texts from red hydrant which I did not know if I did or not. I had it at this point as I had put up with his rude and patronizing attitude all morning and I had already apologized so much to him. At this point I felt verbally abused and bullied by him. He had driven his point all morning about how annoyed he was and would not let up with his attitude despite my sincere apologies. I kindly said to him that I did not appreciate the way he was talking to me. I literally had tears in my eyes because I was being treated with such coldness. The response I got from him was to tell me that he was trying to locate the PROBLEM so that this wouldn't happen again and then he accused me of being a liar about not knowing that my appointment was at 8. I told him I didn't appreciate the way he was talking to me and treating me (while tears are in my eyes) and he got angry and said that I should leave and he would walk me out the door which was completely unnecessary as I was very calm and was only asking him to please not speak to me in the disrespectful way he was addressing me. As I was gladly departing with my dog he screamed at me that I was a liar. So for a recap I innocently got my appointment time mixed up, I took responsibility for it and profusely apologized, rushed over there and then got berated even more. You can't go around being a bully and treating everyone like they are less than you. I pray that he finds healing and learns to treat people with kindness before he goes out of business. I also want to note that if you look up this place and read the reviews on yelp, google and angies list you will see many reviews stating how awful the owner Roman is an how bad his customer service is. It's sad how despite how rude he was being to me I was still willing to give them a chance and was even going to give a big tip since I got my times mixed up. It's sad that you didn't even remember me or maybe you did and you still didn't care. Apparently your customers mean nothing to you. When I moved back into the area I immediately returned to your pet salon and was loyal to your place since I had taken my dog here before. I have made it a point every time I've been in your store to compliment your shop and the things you sell. I even make it a point to buy something whether I needed it or not to support your shop. I've been nothing but nice to you every time despite me noticing you've always had an attitude about you as if you were better than everyone. I have been going to red hydrant for 10 years plus and thought they were wonderful until I took my 1 year old puppy. They claimed that the puppy bit the groomer and would not elaborate on the situation, said they couldn't put their employees in harms way. My puppy is 15 lbs. and my question is ... what did the groomer do to the puppy... why is it the puppy fault? And why not tell the owner exactly what happened. I was treated as if this was my fault. Isn't a groomer of animals trained on dealing with 15 lb animals. Horrible experience after 10 years of loyalty not to mention the customers that were recommended to them... not any more. Took my little rescue mixed breed dog to Red Hydrant. She has wirey hair that basically made her look wild. She had never been professionally groomed or clipped. Alex, the groomer, was very informative and made great recommendations on the best cut for her. Love, love the new cut and Alex indicated that she was so good that he couldn't believe it was her first time being clipped. When I picked up my dog this morning, the owner approached me about the review I posted. My review was about his attitude towards my dog having an accident in the lobby. He did not say a word as he was cleaning it up but the way he went about it, said he was not happy. I was very put off by his demeanor. He proceeds to tell me he hurt his back the day prior. That had nothing to do with the accident. Then hours later, at home, my daughter shows me a spot on my dog where he was clipped too short. Brought my little Chihuahua in to get his nails cut, after a while the groomer came back with my dog, truly upset and mad, and told me that he couldn't cut the nails because the dog wouldn't hold still and that he feels that I neglected the dog because of his long nails, he also told me that he wishes for the dog to find a new home and that I should leave and not bring my dog back to him.
