I love this PetSmart location. It is always clean and well-staffed. The staff love seem to love greeting my pups when we come in and always ask to pet them. We usually find some good deals here on everything. The manager is smart and efficient in his job. The pets for sale seem to be well taken care of and there are plenty of variety in-stock. We have used the Banfield here and didn't love them, but they are a separate business. The grooming dept is so kind and easy to communicate with. My dogs have never had a noticeably bad experience here. We did the training for one of my dogs. We learned some great things that we still implement, but we probably could have just researched and found videos to teach the same stuff. read more

I took my cat Peanut to get groomed and a dematted here. Sharon was so kind, to and did an amazing job! Peanut is usually a little nervous around new people, but I watched Peanut interact with Sharon and her helper and my cat looked very comfortable in their possession. Checking in was easy, and picking her up was easy as well. I checked out with Kinsley, and she is such a gem! The best thing about this PetSmart on Watt Ave is I can get parking in front of the store whenever I am here. Make it so convenient if I want to purchase something quickly after work. The store is nice and clean, like most of the PetSmart stores. The merchandise in the store is well organized and easy to locate. The prices are reasonable with many choices. The animal cages and fish tanks are very clean in this store. I enjoy to check them out every time when I'm here. They look happy! I called PetSmart yesterday to set up an appointment for my puppy's first grooming. A bath and a trim. I asked as many questions and I could and was met with short answers. I set an appointment for 6PM, I made my way to the grooming section and stood there for about 10 minutes while a lady was clipping another dog's nails, she did not make any effort to let anyone know I was here and just told me to wait. So I did. Eventually another worker walked in and i got my puppy all checked in. They told me to come back in FOUR hours, I looked down at my puppy (3.5 pound toy poodle) and asked why it would take so long, she stated a bunch of lame excuses and then added the groomer just went on lunch. Why would you schedule me in when you know the groomer goes to lunch at 6? Unprofessional and weird experience. read more

They really do have everything a puppy needs. LOCATION: Across from the Arden and Watt shipping mall with plenty of on-site parking. DECOR: Typical superstore warehouse setup like Walmart or Costco but for pets. PRICE: I picked up doggie treats with a bit 3 bags, get the 4th free deal and it was totally worth it. Also, the process depends on the brand of products you're buying, but had some reasonably priced items they my pup loved just as much as the more expensive ones. TREATS: They have a massive selection of treats. My particular favorites are the training treats. They are smaller pieces designed to be given multiple times during a training session. FOOD: I haven't landed on a brand yet. My pup is a rescue and uses the brand e got from the rescue center. There were plenty to choose from so I'll have a look soon. STAFF: They know their pets and are super helpful, friendly and personable. Colorful selection of employees always makes me feel better as well. EXPERIENCE: I went in and was over consumed by all the choices and labels, but a staff member was able to point me around. Sometimes they were hard to find, but when I found them, they always knew the answer to my question. It's fun to see the other pets walking around the store with their owners. It's a happy vibe in the store even asking the customers. I mean, who can really be mad when their loving pet is by their side? read more

If I could put 0 stars I would.... I went here once for my dog's grooming appointment and loved the results. Second time we chose a different groomer. They couldn't finish my dog's haircut because he was being "aggressive" which has never been a problem for him. He came back with his eyes blood shot red. At home he was squinting and was just sad the rest of the day. I'm not sure what goes on in this store, but this has NEVER happened to me or anyone I know. I would never wish this upon anyone else. Please do not take your dogs here for a grooming appointment ever. They simply do not care for the dogs. I had an appointment for 6pm tonight. I got a call at 5:40pm from a groomer asking me if I planned to come in for my 5pm appointment. I said my appointment was at 6. She said it was at 5. I said ok well I'll come in at 6. She said ok but "I'll be on my lunch" I said ok when are you back from your lunch and I'll come then. I started coming to Petsmart to have my dogs groomed after my original groomer moved out of Sacramento. I prefer supporting smaller businesses when it comes to grooming and other things, but some of the local groomers I've called were either booked or just would never answer the phone, return calls or just flat out flakier than a biscuit. I always like to keep my dog freshly groomed, so I made the hard decision to allow Petsmart to groom my dogs. So far so good, I've had nothing, but good experiences when I comes to my dogs being groomed. I was kind of bummed that the girl who was originally grooming my dogs left Petsmart and went to a grooming place I refuse to name. I did to a review on that particular grooming place and gave it one star. I have a different groomer grooming my dogs and she's just as good a the last gal that left so I'm still content with my dog cuts. The store manager is always nice when I come in and thanks me for patronizing his store. Before, I ever considered getting my dogs groomed here, I only came to buy my dogs clothing, greenies and toys. I have to give this Petsmart location a solid 4 stars. An employee called my elderly mother a bitch when we asked for help. We were looking for the pink bag of fancy feast and we asked an employee working on the floor (a short, Caucasian male with big glasses, late 30s, sometimes works in the dog grooming area). He started muttering when we asked him for help. He gave my mother the dirtiest look, made snide remarks as she asked him questions then called her a bitch as we were leaving. Went to the manager but she didn't care. This is the third time something like this has happened with the same employee. Worst attitudes at this store. Going to call corporate this time. My dog had an appointment at 8 am this morning. I made it to the site, admittedly late. 5 min. Then I get to door and no one watching for incoming customers. I see sign that says "Ring bell if here for service prior to store opening ". So I ring bell. 3 x waiting in between. Finally around 8:20 or so, an employee reporting for his shift lets me in. Next obstacle. Lines. There was a line of 1 other dog in the general area, so I get in line. How long were they waiting?.. if I was waiting outside. So I wait. Then I overhear the lady in front saying she was waiting for banfield. How do they not have designated line areas for both services. I understand they are together (proximity) but I waited for no reason. Skip ahead and go into grooming. Bather can't take my dog so they cancelled my appointment. This review is for grooming services only. I took my dog there today for a bath and haircut. Service was fast - took about 2.5 hours until they called me for pick up. What was not okay was that my dog came back with FLEAS. My dog is an indoor dog, does not live with other dogs, and is on flea preventative. Not sure if they didn't clean their tools or something but this is not ok! I had to bathe her and clean my entire house in an attempt to prevent infestation. read more

My God went to grooming. I haven't have any problems before, but had recent visit. Late weekday, male groomer. I paied for nail cut and tooth brush. However, only few nail was done. Teeth were durty. Also he said my dog was aggressive before, so previous people charged for aggressive dog fee. It was NOT. I remember it was NOT. I brought my dog, Blue in to be groomed. They called an hour into the appointment stating they could not finish the dogs grooming as my small 15 lb puppy became aggressive. I rushed over thinking my dog had hurt one of the employees only to find the groomers being incredibly rough with other dogs on the grooming tables and to find the groomer had shaved Blue down to his bare skin so badly he had open wounds. Took my 2 dogs in at 2:30 for grooming appointments. I was rushed while describing what I wanted & my pups were put into kennels. I was told the appointment was going to take 4 hours. 3 hours later I was told 1 dog couldn't be groomed because he would not come out of his cage. My other dog was crying while being brushed because he saw me. I didn't let them cut him. I took both dogs & left. It seems crating dogs for 3 hours is stressful. How can you expect dogs to be calm when you lock them in a cage for 3 hours. I don't recommend! read more

Employees are extremely lazy. Was sitting for over an HOUR and nobody came to help, I went around the store politely asking, regardless of how frustrated I was, for help and still sat for another 30 minutes. I then called to speak with a supervisor and he was absolutely no help. He told me to "wait" while he helped someone else so I hung up. They have sold me crickets that have all been dead the next day as well as faulty reptiles. Incredibly disappointed with this entire store I've received no help anytime I've ever went went here. I called to get my cat a rabies vaccine and they said it would cost roughly $54 for the exam and $29 for the vaccine. I explained that my cat was just seen in December for a wellness exam and that she was healthy. They still insisted that they had to perform an exam on her in order to give her the rabies vaccine. So, it would cost $83 just to get her a rabies shot. I think this is a prime example of gouging customers. I picked Banfield bc that's where I adopted my cat. So, bc I knew $83 was not fair, I called my regular vet Reagor Pet Hospital, they said it will be $15 for the tech fee and $25 for a rabies vaccine. That's a total of $40! Literally half of what Banfield charges. That's way more reasonable and they are able to get me in today. GO TO REAGOR PET HOSPITAL! They are amazing and always affordable. read more

I ordered a product for curbside pickup yesterday 10/05. I called ahead and was advised to park my car in front or a designated parking spot and to call when I arrived. A store employee by the name of Bridgette came outside and said my order wasn't ready. I let her know I was informed it was and to wait outside. She then said with much attitude: "like I said, it's not ready, did you not hear me?" I let her know I didn't appreciate her tone and she didn't respond and walked back in. I am incredibly displeased to be treated like that. I am a long time customer of this location. read more
