Five stars truly don't feel like enough for the grooming salon at PetSmart in Rocklin Crossings. We have always been happy with the care our boy, Tommy Lee, receives here, but what happened yesterday showed us exactly how exceptional this team really is. We dropped Tommy off for his grooming appointment as usual and headed home to wait for the call that he was finished. Not long afterward, the salon called to explain that while grinding his nails, Tommy had bumped his foot against the wall and landed directly on a skin tag. In a wildly unfortunate twist, because apparently a regular skin tag would have been far too simple, it was connected to an artery and began bleeding profusely. The salon team acted immediately. They bandaged his foot, transported him directly to Loomis Basin Veterinary Hospital, and contacted us so we could meet them there. When we arrived, they were already checking him in and making sure he received the care he needed. PetSmart placed the urgent care visit on its account and covered the entire cost without hesitation. Before leaving, the team even asked whether we wanted them to remain at the hospital with us during the appointment. That was far more than we ever would have expected. By that point, they had already exceeded our expectations by miles through their quick response, transparency, compassion, and willingness to take care of absolutely everything. Any business can provide good service when everything goes according to plan. You learn what kind of people you are truly trusting with your pet when something unexpected happens. This team treated Tommy with the same urgency, concern, and care that they would have shown their own pets, and that means more to us than I can adequately express. I wish I knew the names of every employee who helped so I could thank each of them personally. Brooke called today to follow up and ask how Tommy was doing, once again going above and beyond. We had booked the appointment with Koaleen, Tommy's favorite groomer, and I'm sure she also played a part in making sure our boy was taken care of. We were already loyal customers, but the way this team handled such a stressful situation has earned our loyalty for life. Thank you to everyone involved for acting so quickly, taking full responsibility, keeping us informed, and caring for Tommy Lee so genuinely. We could not be more grateful. read more

This specifically concerns the dog training classes. We attended a beginning dog training class at this location for our 4-year-old dog. This six-week class teaches all the basics to train the owner in how to get positive dog behavior. The small class size makes it possible to focus on you dog even though it is a group class. Zander, the man who teaches the class is very knowledgeable in dog behavior and helps to explain why we do what we do with the dog to get the desired behavior. He also teaches what not to do so that you do not enforce the wrong behavior. I would highly recommend this training. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in to purchase some cat food lid covers, since unfortunately I purchased the wrong size cans. We found a 3 pk with cute cat faces, my favorite is of course the pink! My dog is a special needs dog. He has an underdeveloped brain stem that causes him to have these huge and, devastating seizures when he is overstimulated. So, we came to this pet smart (like usual) for a nail trim that should take no longer than 5 minutes. We were there for the worst 10 minutes of my life. A new girl was working there and she was THE WORST at her job. She took forever and caused him to have a serious seizure when we got home. This is because she brought him right next to the loud hair dryer, had the collar on EXTREMELY tight and,made him severely overheated. None of that would have even happened if she took the time to read his file that they have of my dog but i guarantee you she was careless and didn't even look at it. If she hadn't taken the tip I gave her before even starting the nail trim I would have never given her one and I might even ask for a refund. I never comment on how people do their job because that's not the person I am and I always try to be classy and respectful but if I was different I probably would ask to have her fired but she clearly needs the money from this job to get her roots done. We have a v1ery passive cat who has been going to a groomer for 4 years. Went to pick her up. She was half groomed and I was told they had to stop grooming her be cause she was aggressive. Her nails were 1/3 done and she had a cut 1with fresh blood on one paw. When we got her home and opened her carrier...there was a blue harness..with a choke loop...still on her. The person in charge said the cat was "ornery" and "having a bad day". I guess it is true..you get what you pay for. This was one lousy experience! read more

Just took our dog, Luna, to PetSmart for grooming. Allison did an amazing job. Best grooming Luna's ever had. I dont know the name of the other groomer this morning, but they were both very pleasant and sweet. I felt bad they had to work on a holiday, but they were there smiling and very helpful to our nervous little girl. I pre paid for dog training here, and ended up cancelling and forfeiting my investment. I found the trainer to be ineffective. Now, he does know what he's doing, but the majority of the private session is lecture and no practical application. I just can't learn that way! He also made a remark THREE separate times about my dog not being pure bred (although he IS purebred, but what does it matter) and how he's a "weird looking dog". I came here for training not for his opinion on my dogs breed or my dog being mixed ? Like, how rude is that ?! I never asked for his opinion on my dogs looks. Good evening fellow pet shoppers, I normally choose this PetSmart as it is clean, has all of the products and is in a stellar location. However, my experience this evening was not the best. I went into the store and no one greeted me. I proceeded to walk to the dog aisle where the dog skin care products were. I was not asked if I needed any help. Instead, three employees on the next aisle over were talking amongst themselves. The conversation included how customers annoy them as this store does not do cat adoptions. This is very unprofessional talk on the store's main floor. I found what I needed just fine, however I am very disappointed in the customer service. Hopefully this is not normal behavior. My appointment was at 4pm which I dropped our dog off promptly. I was told it works be an hour. I showed up at 5pm and was told they haven't even started yet. She hasn't been away from us and we had anxiety about taking her in to get groomed. They should have called us or let me know she was going to have to sit in a kennel in a strange place. I signed up for puppy classes and had a horrible experience with scheduling and general lack of professionalism from multiple staff members. 1) the class I signed up for was abruptly canceled only a few hours before my scheduled class, the alternative and apparently new class time was on a totally different day and different time that did not work for my schedule, and it was multiple weeks out from when I had scheduled to start training. 2) when my wife called to ask if there were any classes sooner the trainer was reluctant to work with us, and in asking about our puppy (before even meeting us or our puppy) proceeded to tell my wife that the breed of our dog was "probably like a terrorist and you better get in here soon." After this comment I refused to have a trainer who prejudged our puppy be in charge of our training and decided to cancel completely. 3) when I called to cancel the women who was the manager was rude and short with me, made me wait on hold for 15 mins to cancel the training and told me no one else was available to help. I will literally never come to this store or take my puppy or any dog here. read more

One of the ladies at front desk was rude when I asked if they had a hose I can borrow because my dog threw up all over kennel, she seemed very hesitant about letting me use a hose or the bathtub to wash off her tray that goes in her crate. Very unwelcoming, which is surprising considering how many years we've been coming here. Might consider a different vet. read more

Grooming Salon- This store had the RUDEST groomers and the worst customer service. It made me not want to shop at PetSmart mart anymore and I spend about $200 a week there normally. I filed a customer service complaint. I swear if I don't hear back I'm never shopping at any of their stores again. Here is what happened: I had an 8 am grooming appointment for 3 dogs. I got to PetSmart at 7:55 and waited and waited at the grooming salon. There was no one there. At 8:20 my mobile phone rings and it's a woman and she says you had an 8 am grooming appointment. And I said I know! I'm here!! She said "where?" I said "I'm in the salon but no one is here!" She said "Where? In Rocklin?" And I said "no, I'm in Roseville" I was thinking crap, I drove all the way to Roseville when Rocklin is closer! I said " Ok, I'll be right there!" It's 10 minutes away. She said "You missed your appointment and we're booked. We don't have time." And she hung up. I had three dogs. How did they suddenly not have time. She didn't try to work with me. Didn't offer to do two of the dogs. Didn't offer an alternate time. She was curt/rude. The people at Roseville were very nice and tried to make it work. But a male groomer there grabbed my great Pyranees' ear and she threatened him and he said "I'm not able to groom your dog because it's unsafe for me". She's been there three other times and they groomed her. I think the PetSmart groomers are young, inexperienced, are paid a salary and not based on how well they do or the number of dogs they groom and honestly don't really care about their jobs. That is the impression I get anyway. I'm done there. While Iv'e been writing this, I've been on hold with their customer service for 34 minutes and counting. They suck. read more

Britan has a horrible attitude in front of customers to his other colleagues. He seems very lazy and instead of helping me when he was doing nothing but sitting down he told someone else to help me. The sweet girl that helped me had long hair, glasses, skinny and very sweet. She was knowledgeable and very helpful. This is not my first time in there to deal with this boy but it will probably be my last time in there because of him. I know it's hard to find employees nowadays but I know he can easily be replaced because of the crap he has turned this place into. Thanks for listening. Stay clear of him if you can. read more

Groomer Allison at the Rocklin location did such an amazing job of getting my baby looking absolutely fabulous. But I will also add the most important part, he didn't even have a seizure after his grooming. He suffers from epilepsy and usually after being groomed he can have one to two episodes. The care and love she had shown my fur baby will be the reason she will be my baby's only groomer Thank Allison and can't wait to bring back my little guy in December to see you. read more

We took our chiuaua and chaweenie to the petsmart in Rocklin to get their nails grinded today and had such a good experience. Both of our dogs are on the older side and very finicky when it comes to grooming but the young ladies in the salon were very nice and gentle with our babies. So, thank you Cole and Karina and a special thank you to the store manager April of this location she assured us that the groomers we chose were very professional and amazing at what they do. I ended up with 4 orphaned kittens while traveling for work in Stockton. Stopped by a PetSmart in Stockton and the team there was very helpful getting me started. Continued on my drive to Reno and stopped here to pick up more feeding bottles because the kittens seemed pretty hungry. The 3 Associates working at the time jumped into action outfitting me with the basics, including some more bottles and premise formula. Then, they each took a kitten and hand fed them so I could get all 4 fed and back on the road. read more

I came to this new Petsmart location because I was in the area and decided to see how it stacked up to my usual neighborhood Petsmart locations. I arrived early on a Saturday morning so I was excited to see that they weren't busy at all and I could easily find a parking spot. The inside was kept very clean and organized, and I noticed that a lot of the items that I looked at were kept in stock and in good supply. I came looking for Science Diet Wet Cat Food for one of our cats who refuses to eat anything else. I easily found what I was looking for and they seemed to have as good of a flavor selection as other Petsmart locations I have been to. Prices are good as well and they have nice sales often so you just have to keep an eye out and come back regularly. Cat stuff is the whole left side of the store, dog stuff is on the right side of the store and there is seasonal stuff down the main middle aisle. Oh and they also have a nice selection of fish and supplies along the back wall. I would come back when in the area! read more

Went in for a collar for my cat. Thought I'd check out grooming her since I just moved here from being Active Duty Military. There's no sign on the grooming entrance that says one customer at a time so when I walked in while one other customer was present I was rudely told to wait outside. Never take your animal here, they are liars and the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with, the store manger PAULINA laughed when I explained the situation that occurred, they have done nothing to resolve the situation and are careless, they have no care for animals. The manager of the grooming salon, was the one who serviced my animal she was very irritated with him and abused him and sent him home with split jacked up nails, his back legs are hurt and he has cuts all over him. This issue is not taken seriously and it's very sad that these employees do not care about animals and only receiving a paycheck, they refuse to allow me to watch the tapes from that day to see what encountered. The store owner has refused to talk to me stating that it's a store issue and not his problem. There is no customer service here, all there managers at this locations are unprofessional and rude, you can not trust your animals in there care. Worst experience with a groomer ever! I will never come back to this groomer or this store period! I brought my 1 year old Golden Retriever (on her birthday) to have a basic grooming (washed, trimmed, nail grinding) after making an appointment online the evening before. I show up to her appointment (with Michelle) at 11 am and check my dog in and am told that Michelle is at lunch for 20 more minutes but that my dog will be ready by 2pm to come in then and that they would also call me when she was ready. I was a little hesitant to leave her as I realize that's 20 minutes she'll be in a metal kennel and already, there is a very large and loud barking dog that had been non stop barking since I arrived, but against my better judgment, I leave her. By 2pm I still had not heard from them. As I'm leaving to get her an appointment, that I was unaware of, showed which caused me to run late. As I'm driving to pick her up, feeling anxious because I am now so late, I realized they still haven't called me to say she is done and it is now 3pm. I arrive to see her on the table still being groomed. They also have every other table full and a person working with each dog. My teenage daughter walked up to the window not realizing that this would cause my dog to start freaking out and barking, so we both hid on an enclave of an isle. 20 mins or so pass and another lady hides next to us and watches as her dog is being groomed. I ask her if she has been waiting long and she said, "oh no, I was a walk in". Seconds later they bring out her beautiful, looong haired yorkie, and she is on her merry way. Another 10 mins go by and my daughter (who was across the store looking at the fish and who was also not with me when I dropped off my dog) comes to me with a paper saying a lady gave it to her and that is would be 20-30 more mins! What the heck?! Why is there such a delay but a walk in had since come and go!??! The paper she was handed was the recipient so I pay at the register. After, as I am waiting (still), I am still hiding and watching the groomer (which I can only presume is Michelle since I hadn't met her at the drop-off due to her being at lunch) and she is clearly frustrated and being very rough with my dog and yelling "No!" And "Bad Dog!" At this point my blood is boiling! This goes one for a few minutes until I can't take it and just walk in. Right as I do "Michelle" takes her to the back and puts her in the kennel and comes to talk to me. I was like just give me my damn dog so I can get the hell Out of here! But she goes on to explain that she couldn't do the nail grinding and do I want the money credited to my account for next time? Bahaha! Next time? No, there will be no next time! I told her to issue me a refund. So she goes to get my dog and I ask why did it take so long? She looked confused but said that it was busy and they got behind and apologized. I pointed out that there had been a walk in that came in after us and left a half an hour before us. She just gave me a blank stare so I rolled my eyes and went back to the register for my refund. My poor dog is panting like crazy, jumping all over me, barking, crying, has her tail between her legs the entire time, and is just outright frantic! The nice gentleman issuing the refund is just about done refunding the money to my bank card when the manager, Bud, walked up and told him he was doing it wrong, so we had to start over. In the meantime, my 80lb dog is pulling me all over the place and is just stressed out like I have never seen. As they are, step-by-step, re-doing the refund I am about to lose it. The manager walks away and the young man is trying to do the refund as quickly as he can but it's just an unnecessarily long process and I finally lose it. I tell him I can't wait anymore and that I had been there 2hrs later than I should have been, my dog is stressed, and I needed to leave. He quickly grabbed cash from the drawer and the receipt and handed it to me. I felt horrible that he caught my fury but he obviously knew it was ridiculous to keep me waiting. My poor dog didn't stop panting for hours, I was so concerned that I contacted our vet and they gave me instructions to keep an eye on her and also told me that they have seen so many horrible situations with groomers and their lack of care for our pets. They guessed that they probably bathed my dog in the first hour and then put her in the drying kennel where she probably stayed until just before I showed up to get her, and that is when they finished up with her. She was probably overheated, stressed from the loud dryer, and obviously treated poorly by the staff. My Dog spent a total of almost 5 hrs with zero water and no potty breaks. She is still very stressed and just wants to be in a dark quiet room. She is definitely not her happy energetic self. I will never take her back to this store again! read more

This store is great! It has wonderful people who are always really helpful and very knowledgeable about the product and pets. I get all of my pet stuff here and have been a loyal customer since they opened last year. They are much better than the other petsmarts in the area that I've been to and definitely more helpful and better prices than petco.
