This time I had "Antoniette". Once again I was very pleased. My tiny girl's puppy fur was was a knotted mess but Antoniette worked her magic. Queen Tut (my 9yo tabby) and I find this location adequately stocked and staffed. We decided to do an online order and pick up as we had some errands in the area. The estimated wait for pickup was two hours but our items were packed and ready in less than 1. We were notified by email that our order was ready and given a link to let the store know when we arrived. Too late for curbside pickup (ends at 7p) we headed inside. Greeted as soon as we walked in, we let the cashier know we were picking up an order and gave our last name. The cashier went to a well organized shelf, found our order and thanked us. If I could less than a star I would, this isn't the first time one of dogs have had "behavioral problems" after the third visit. The first two visits he was "such a good boy" but this time around I only wanted a trim and leave his fluff, which should only be 40$. This was his birthday cut so when I got the phone call that he was "nipping and biting" I was shocked because my puppy who is a year has never showed any aggression at all. When I picked him, he had matted clumps of hair and uneven hair because they simply didn't brush or attempt to give a proper hair cut. I was charged 90$ for her to simply blow him out and put his sanitary areas and paws with nails. I was outraged at the price and how my puppy looked for his first birthday. I will never step into this grooming place again. They are fake dog lovers and will do anything for an extra penny. This is first ever review on this app and that's how mad I am. read more

Grooming department is horrible!! Walked in, there were three women, one was a manger. One woman looked at my dog and said how cute she was (so I know they acknowledged I was there). The manager said to the other woman, " we can talk about this here." All three then proceeded to walk into a back room, never saying to me that they will be right back or please excuse them for a minute, nothing. I waited about 3-4 minutes, and decided to go to Petco. I was taken right away at Petco to get my 4 lb dog's nails cut. We'll never go back to PetSmart for grooming again. Customer service is horrible read more

I don't visit that often unless I'm looking for more options or something in particular for my pup. On my most recent visit, I wanted to find some new toys for our lab who's a heavy chewer and destroys anything that's not durable. They have a pretty decent number of toys but can definitely be pricey. I don't mind spending the money for good quality though. I don't really buy anything else here most of the time. I don't mind coming in but the lines can definitely be an issue. There's usually only one register open and you end up waiting for a while. On my most recent visit, after waiting for quite a while in a long line, another register opened up. The cashier was definitely very pleasant but sometimes the lines can be time consuming. The grooming is a scam. They charged me $60 for a little Maltese who didn't even weigh 5 pounds at the time, for just a wash and said that they "gave a trim" when my dog literally looked the same as before. Better off going to a local groomer than to this overpriced scamming place. The lady who groomed my puppy thought she did her thing when she was done grooming, it was pathetic because she literally didn't do a thing! Also prior to getting the groom, they said that it would be $30 for a start which I was hoping was the case but it was double that which is insane. Unprofessional to say the least. PetSmart has a decent selection of products (at least for dogs, as that's what I'm there for), at prices that aren't too bad. In fact, as a lad who adopted his dog (through DCSPCA and PetSmart's partnership), I was gracious enough to receive a book full of coupons to help offset the cost of products I'd need for the little one. That was a tremendous help, by the way. This facility is also very clean and well-organized, with friendly staff available for assistance at any time. The shining stars are the groomers. I've requested the expertise of both Kara M. and Samantha S., and both have exceeded my expectations with my shih tzu. My dog came out looking good and wasn't the least bit terrified. The care and pride that they take certainly shows in their work, and that's something that doesn't go unnoticed. Their washes/cuts are certainly recommended, and I'll certainly be back. read more

I took my mini schnauzer here to be groomed for the first time. They were super busy and i was so lucky to be able to find an appointment there today. He's pretty anxious around other dogs particularly larger dogs. Crystal was amazing, she groomed him exactly the way I was hoping she would, he looks beyond cute. She also gave me a rundown of the moments he was squirmy & the moments that he was anxious with the other dogs which I really appreciated because he is a puppy & I'm trying to desensitize him at home to the motions of being groomed & to other (larger) dogs! The entire staff here was so kind, they're handling the covid protocols like pros & the prices were totally reasonable. I also found the selection of dog supplies to be much larger than other stores I've been to. I will definitely be making the trip up here again!! read more

When I dropped off my puppy the staff seemed nice but I paid money for nothing. I was told my puppy was great but he still smells bad, still has dirty ears. It's like they did nothing with him and it was a waste of money and time. 2 hours for them to call me that my 10 lb puppy is done. I got the lowest package for $15. Only a bath and small things done like trimmed nails, trimmed paw fur, sanitary trim. Took my puppy there for a bath today and I am very pleased. All of the staff members were friendly and more than just one even said hello when we walked in. Upon check in I let the woman know that my pup has had dry skin lately resulting in white flakes on his back and she suggested I purchase the upgraded apple oatmeal shampoo and I am so glad she made that suggestion, thanks Denise! Fabulous first grooming experience! Thank you to Yelper Rob W. for your review, I had the good fortune of having groomer Kara take care of our 6 mo. old Havanese, Donut. She was so great with our doggie. Donut looks (and smells) great, has an excellent cut and was very well taken care of. She came out to greet us completely relaxed and happy to be there. I couldn't have asked for more, since this was one of her first grooming experiences as a puppy. Not only was the cost appropriate and affordable, I also did not make an appointment, I walked in and they fit us in their ongoing schedule. 90 minutes later I got a phone call that Donut was ready for pick up. I used this place for grooming for two years prior to getting our new puppy. We took him here for his first groom last December, they claimed they couldn't keep his head still enough to shave it, and left him with a shaved body and full hair on head, and charged me the full amount for a dog groom instead of a puppy. I decided it was a one time thing and I'd give them a second chance, I tried to book both dogs and kept getting Error call this number, I call and get well we can do the older this day but nothing yet for the younger ( he's almost a year old now), I went somewhere else, I just tried again, and the same thing happened, I got this really snotty customer service girl who talked to me like I was slow and finally I said screw this I'm going somewhere else. I also just found out that the grooming salon only gets 2 weeks of training before they are let lose on your pet. Be careful. read more

I love PetSmart. I think their prices are reasonable and they have a lot of pet supplies for whatever your pet needs. I am a fish lover. I am writing a review for their fish department and staff who run it. Every time I go to PetSmart's fish department there is never any staff members there to assist you. I have to usually wait 20 minutes to get a staff member to assist me. I go there often so it's a reoccurring problem I'm dealing with. What really got me upset and the reason for this bad review, is what happened 1 day when I went into PetSmart in poughkeepsie to purchase a $300 fish tank. There were a lot of people standing around waiting for a staff member to assist them. I was 2nd in line. The staff member came out from the back to help a customer with fish who were ahead of me. She answered a couple of their questions and then that was that, the customers continued to look around at fish, the staff member was standing behind them for 5 minutes waiting for them to pick their fish, instead of going to the next customer in line. You can tell she clearly saw all the other waiting customers, but stood behind the first customers in line and it appeared she was wait for them to pick the fish they wanted. After I witnessed the staff member standing behind those customer for 5 minutes , and not doing anything. I asked her about a fish tank, she looked at me like I disturbed her from helping customers, which she wasn't, all she was doing was standing behind them while they were looking at fish for several minutes , I said I want to purchase a tank and I started to ask questions about the tank. I started walking over to the tank because I want to point something out and ask her a question about it, this women acted like she was helping those first customers out, which was over 5 minutes ago and she refused to take a look at what I was pointing at, as if like she was busy assisting other customers, which she obviously was not. I waited 10 more minutes afterwards, and I literally watched more customer form a line and I watched this staff member follow those first customers around for almost 14 minutes not assisting them with anything, not talking to them, just stand behind them like she was waiting for them to pick a fish. 15 minutes of this staff member standing behind the 1st customer in line , she started to collect fish for them that they picked. I ended up leaving because of the horrible customer service and they lost a $300 purchase because of the way I was treated. I mean she had 15 minutes to go to the next customer in line, and she could of went back to the other customers when they were ready to purchase a fish. I blame this on their management and I hope their staffs rude behavior gets adjusted . The women was very rude to me and the other customers online and that is the reason I may never go back to PetSmart in poughkeepsie, I did end up getting a tank at PetSmart in Newburgh and they were very friendly and helpful staff in their fish department.. The staff member I am speaking of was a older short white women, , with short reddish hair. The reason I gave description is hopefully her manager sees this post and teaches her about customer service 101. Horrible. read more

Twice I have gone to get my dogs nails clipped over an hour before they close and found all the groomer had left for the day.Though the website, Yelp, the recording when you call and the signs on their own grooming door all say they are open to 9 this is NOT TRUE! If they want to shorten their hours they should let customers know. I went in two days ago to buy a bag of Blue Buffalo dog food and went to look at the snakes. All 3 of their ball pythons were emaciated and had no water in their tanks, which I pointed out and got some BS excuse for ("they're going through a shed and can't consume water during shedding") from the girl working at snakes/rodents/fish. Now my fiance and I are both huge snake enthusiasts and that didn't ring quite true for me, so I called a friend who's a herpetologist and confirmed that the employee's statement was absolutely untrue and inaccurate. I then found a male crown tail betta with severe fin rot which I tried to buy to bring to a friend of mine for rehabilitation and when I pointed out his horrendous condition to the manager Jenna, she not only refused to let me buy him but literally took the cup out of my hand because it's not their "policy" to "sell sick pets". I am all kinds of ticked off and horrified and will absolutely not be returning. read more

I must respond to Lo A's review I shop at Petsmart at least 3 times a week and have never experienced any of the issues you have stated... They actually have 1 snake there which when I asked about purchasing it I was told that the snake is blind and they have her under the care of a vet if I agreed to purchase it I would need to commit to making sure she is well taken care of and that her medication is given to her. As far as the fish (I might have at least 40) out of all the fish I have bought there , 1 was sick I called and was told to bring the fish back for care I was a little concerned since at PetGoods it is their policy to euthanize sick fish :( . When I explained this to the manager on the phone she assured me they have a medical room, which Jenna showed me. My dog is also groomed there no issues at all, my bearded dragon was also purchased there with specific instructions on how to care for him.... read more

Had my dog trained for Beginners Puppy Classes with Sarah Smisko. She was attentive and well handled. She made sure my dog was properly addressed and showed me acceptable commands to use when handling her. Ill be honest I'm stuck in my ways thinking i could do a better job and instead of conflicting with me she let me show her my way and helped me improve on my training methods instead of telling me I was wrong and showing me a "corporate taught" way to do so. The facilities were clean and she used only approved treats by me and my fiance (we have our dog on a grain-free diet) I also was extremely impressed that no matter what, even when we weren't there for the class she remembered my dogs name and stopped to chat with us like we were old friends. I felt very comfortable and would rate her much higher than 5 stars if given the opportunity. I'd highly recommend that dog owners take her classes. You will not be disappointed! read more

Will never go to petsmart again with one of my dogs, he is only 7 months old and went in yesterday for nail trim. There were 3 girls in the grooming section. So one of them started to cut his nails and he got upset showing his teeth. He doesn't like his feet touched but nails were long. So she put cone on him and got his back feet trimmed. When she went to do front another girl named Denise told her to stop because he was showing his teeth again. Maybe Denise should have told her to wait and the 2 of them did his nails. Instead they just gave him back to us and had us pay full price for a job that was only half done. This is not the first time had issue with this Petsmart. Two months ago took him in for bath and he was bad and the girl acted afraid of him. Told us not to leave the store when he was getting bath. He went home wet. Very poor Service at this Petsmart and do not recommend them!!!! read more
