If I could put no stars, I would. My dog was boarded there just for a little over 2 days. When my mom went to pick her up, her front elbows were almost raw and she had bruises on her face. She was having trouble walking for a few days. She was taken to the vet to be checked out and they said that my dog, who is 60 pounds) was kept in a small crate the entire time she was there. We also provided them with medication to give her if there were a thunderstorm because she gets horrible anxiety. This boarding place decided to give her the medication because she "couldn't" deal with her barking. Her barking was most likely due to being in a small crate the entire time when she doesn't fit in it! Who does that. No animal should've been treated the way that they treated my dog. She is an absolute sweetheart and this place treated her poorly.

We brought our dog in for boarding on Friday, 6/4/21 - Sunday 6/6/21. She is given medication only when there's thunder or fireworks. We explained to Salma to give only if there was going to be any thunderstorms. We picked up our dog on Sunday and she was sedated and according to Salma, it was because she couldn't deal with our dog barking. After we got home, our poor baby had bruises on both her elbows on front legs and looked like bite marks on her face. This is not ok. Will never return to this location and will deter anyone from bringing their beloved pets to this place.

Awful cut, asked for a Puppy cut and dog was shaved. Since it's changed hands, quality is not the same

My dog successfully completed his surgery and we can't wait for him to get back to his normal self this summer :) Thankful is an understatement. The whole team is amazing.

Being fairly new to the area I inquired on NextDoor if anyone had experience with a surgeon. The majority of the answers pointed us towards Dr. Paul McNamara with Hudson Highland Veterinary Group. Upon our first visit we quickly discovered Dr McNamara was surgeon for Dutchess County K9 dogs and has been awarded commendations for his years of dedicated service. He demonstrated a gentle approach towards Mia and quickly determined she had a luxtating patella that did require surgery. Our consultation was not rushed he answered every single question and you can imagine trusting our baby who is never had any issues prior was absolutely terrifying. Dr. McNamara was thorough and even sent us home with a video explaining the procedure and after care with regards to this particular surgery. They even took the opportunity to allow us to view the operating room and after the initial consultation,we knew that we had selected the best choice possible for our little girl. We arrived at7AM for her drop off and the team was easily reachable with the dozens of questions throughout the day and night. The next day Mia came home a little woozy but overall in good spirits. I hear a lot of owners saying the cone to prevent licking the stitches is stressful. The team here uses a Lick sleeve which was a pant leg that was fastened on the surgical leg to prevent her licking the incision. This made for a less stressful environment for all of us. Dr. McNamara, Colleen, Allison and Tara were super kind and supportive throughout the entire process. She is now 12 weeks post surgery and doing quiet well. We are thrilled with the outcome and would not hesitate recommending them in the future.

But none of this would be possible without the exceptional guidance and personalized help we've had over the past several years from the team at Good Dog. Do yourself a favor, and sign up for class today. You won't regret it! Here's the reality... I had no idea how to train a dog. I thought it was something you do for a couple of months, and maybe you get a dog that listens to you. But Anne's approach of really helping dog owners understand dog psychology and effective techniques for breaking skill-building into bite-sized chunks helped me reshape my thinking and develop the patience and consistency needed to get an incredible result. I never dreamed that I could have a dog that listens as well as Sierra. How well does Sierra listen? Well, her recall is so good that she came running up 2 flights of stairs when I previewed the video I chose to include in this review. Just from the whistle in the video. I thought that kind of behavior was outside of my abilities to achieve. But Good Dog helped me realize that training a dog doesn't have to be a burden -- it's a lot easier than you think. It just requires consistency and a bit of oversight from a knowledgeable expert. Point is... You could have this for your dog, too!

I can't recommend Nancy at Know Your Dog Training highly enough…read more After doing extensive research to find the right trainer, I'm so glad I found Nancy. From the beginning it was clear that she has a deep understanding of dogs and brings a calm, confident, and professional approach to everything she does. My dog Kane completed a training program with her, and I was extremely impressed with the experience and the results. Nancy takes the time to truly understand each dog and provides the kind of structure, guidance, and consistency that helps dogs thrive. Since then, Nancy has also become my trusted go-to whenever I travel. Knowing Kane is in her care gives me tremendous peace of mind. He always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. What really sets Nancy apart is the level of attention and personalization she provides. This isn't a typical boarding situation -- she genuinely gets to know the dogs she works with and creates a thoughtful, structured environment for them. Nancy is trustworthy, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I'm very grateful I found her and would recommend Know Your Dog Training without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled trainer or a safe, reliable place for their dog while they're away.

Having a city dog isn't easy -- our 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier (female) has tons of energy, a stubborn streak, and some anxiety and reactivity issues around other dogs. We were looking for help with leash training and overall confidence, and Nancy was the perfect fit. From the very first interaction, Nancy was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does and cares deeply about every dog she works with. I enrolled our pup in a month-long board-and-train program while I was getting married, and Nancy made the experience completely stress-free. She stayed in constant communication, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that showed the progress and the specific behaviors being worked on -- plus advice for us as owners to reinforce at home. When our dog came back, the difference was night and day. She's calmer, more responsive, and walks beautifully on a leash with far fewer distractions. Her reactivity around other dogs has improved dramatically, and she seems much more confident overall. Even after the program ended, Nancy went above and beyond -- she included additional follow-up lessons at no cost and still checks in to see how things are going. Her board-and-train setup is amazing too: the dogs aren't kept in kennels but get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I can't recommend Know Your Dog and Nancy enough for anyone looking for dog training, board-and-train programs, or boarding with a personal touch. Nancy truly changed our dog's behavior -- and our lives -- for the better.
