I think it is absurd and inhumane for petsmart to have companion animals in small cages alone without any stimulating things for animals who are not mindless, but very intelligent creatures. it is also ridiculous you cannot socialize or pet the animals and the animals do not receive any affection or physical care. Is it wrong that I take my little one here to just see the animals? And that she thinks it is a zoo? It makes me laugh. I am waiting for the day when she realizes it is just a store to buy pets. We always stop in here to see the snakes, lizards, the lizard from Geico, hamsters, rats, mice, rabbits, fish, cats and dogs being groomed. Yeah it is a fun 20 minutes adventure. The staff is always very friendly here. They always say hi to us but I feel they secretly know we are not going to buy a frog today. On a recent trip we saw a cricket making a break for it. Poor guy was hopping for his life. We looked the other way and let him go and be free. Hopefully the Petsmart Police do not catch him. We also had a chance to play with the cats too. I love cats when they are kittens because they are so playful and fun but then they grow up and get attitude. I hate that. Why can't they stay young and fun forever? This store also has everything for your pet needs. Food, beds, leashes, rocks, toys, aquariums, clothes, etc... So if you have a pet then stop on in and stock up on your supplies or pick up a tree frog. The parking lot is huge, so no need to worry about that. read more

Terrible customer service and business practice. Salon called 30 minutes prior to my pups appointment time to cancel, stating staffing shortage. They stated they could not reschedule for 2 weeks. There were no apologies made. My pup was in great need of grooming due to her allergies, and they were not willing to try to accommodate her. They would not even put her on the call list for cancellations, because it was a long list. I will no longer be having her groomed at Petsmart in Kenosha!!!! read more

Very rude people, a manager named Dale was so rude it was unbelievable. Said he was too busy to sell me a parakeet and it would be at least a couple hours before he could help me. When I asked if he could give me a time to come back he said he couldn't. Not the first time someone who works there has been unreasonable. Guess I was supposed to keep driving to the store until he could wait on me. Only two customers in store but think he was busy with curbside orders. There was a large section of food for various animals and reptiles. Many of them name brands, and each section of the store was organized for each particular animal or reptile. It was very easy to find what you were looking for. Not many live animals were in this particular store. They were out of cats and dogs. I did see some dogs being groomed, and the associates were doing a very good job at it. Most of the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Amazing place to be for any questions you have for your pet! The staff is so friendly and helpful! The pet grooming area also washes your dog and pampers it with nail cutting and all sorts of requirements to keep them clean and happy! The dog training classes are great with experienced trainers! Lots of variety of dog essentials needed from training pads to toys and no chew spray! Great help with the staff for all your questions! Good to try out the product first and then buy with a discount they offer usually. Great experience always here! The facility looks like it is not cleaned everyday with the animals walking, playing, and being inside the place. Overall, the friendly and helpful employees is what make it a great place! read more

Took my dog here for a haircut and came back with her completely shaved in multiple areas as well as her tail completely shaved, nothing was even and looks like it was cut with a weed whacker. One of the worst jobs i've ever seen done on a dog will never be coming back here again for any of my dogs. A complete utter joke. read more

I took my pet out there to get his nails trimmed. He is 5 mos old and he had been out there once before. He got his rabies at 4-1/2 mos and had his tag. They would not cut his nails without proper paperwork. I am happy about this but they would not assist me in attempting to get ahold of Vetco who did his shots. I left there and went to Petco. They phoned Vetco and got the info they needed. So because they went the extra mile to help me I have to give props to Petco, although all in all I prefer Petsmart. I went to Petsmart to get some supplies for two kittens I am about to adopt. I went into the Petsmart website to see if there were better deals and found I could save 15% if I ordered online and picked up in store. So I placed an order. The website was being difficult and would not allow me to continue to put things in my cart so I checked out online and continued to shop in the store. When I went to check out at the register I explained to the cashier about my frustration with the website. She said, we will price match our website. I said wow that is great. So I gave her the bigger items and showed her the online price. This cashier not only price match my larger items. She helped me find other items and price matched those as well. In addition to this they helped me load my purchases into my car! The pick up for my online order was as easy as could be, they even allowed me to help pick out which color cat tree I wanted. This is a great Petsmart! I highly recommend driving the extra distance from Gurnee to go to this store! read more

Petsmart cares a lot about their pets. I have never adopted a sick pet from this location, and even if I had, Petsmart would be right there to assist both myself and the pet. Most chain pet stores have a reputation of mistreating their animals, but these pets always seem to be happy and energetic. The staff is sweet and always eager to help you when you need it. I have never been to a pet location that made me feel more at ease with the treatment of their animals than with Petsmart. This is my number one pet shop for all the needs of my rodents, reptiles, fish, birds, dog, and cat! read more

They did a decent job with slightly trimming my dachshund mixes fur(which is what I requested and I hadn't asked for much) however they took 3 hours and did not touch her back end, neck and would not do her nails because she was skiddish about them. I don't believe it takes 3 hours to do these things. I was charged 40 dollars for this, and that was after they discounted me because of the above mentioned items. We had our little dog, Bandit groomed yesterday by Stephanie. We were very pleased with what she did. Bandit had lots of matting in his coat and we knew she wouldn't be able to keep his fur long. He looks great and the main thing was that he didn't seem traumatized when we picked him up. It took her a long time too do so i know she was being careful not to hurt him. We are very pleased! And the cost was really great. We highly recommend her! read more

The manager had no care for the animals, all he cared about was the price and whether or not you were going to pay upfront. I like this PetSmart they always seem to have good discounted and clearance deals. Sometimes I can find food that is marked down that does not expire for another month or two and is a steal compared to the original price. Relates to grooming. I decided to try them because they could get my Golden Retriever in earlier than my regular place. 3 1/2 hours and $80 later Penny did not have her feet or pads trimmed and there were still some small knots around her collar area. They said that she wouldn't cooperate with any work on her feet. They said that they took the pad and nail grinding off the bill. I cancelled my other dogs future appointment. I stopped at my regular chain groomer on my way home to make an appointment for him and they did a walk-in foot trim right then. Although she was pretty fidgety, they were able to do it while I waited. Manager at the register said that foot trimming is not part of the bath and brush and that I would have had to ask for a groomer, not just a bather????. Not pleased at all and won't return for grooming. read more

We've gone to this Pet Smart three or four times now for grooming. They do a decent job of cutting our dog's hair, but always take longer than they say they will. Even if you have an appointment, they will take walkups which will make your wait time longer. The last time we were there, they told us it would be 1.5-2 hours for our dog to be bathed. After 3 hours, we went to pick our dog up to find she still had not been dried due to a high number of walk-ins. It is clear the company values profit over good customer service. read more

I placed an order for online store pick up. Website states orders are ready in one hour. Two hours later I get an email stating my order was cancelled. No explanation. I called customer service and was told my card was declined. I called my credit card company and they said it was not declined and there was a pending charge from pet smart. I then called customer service again and told them there was not an issue with my credit card and I wanted to know why my order was cancelled. I was told I have to wait several days for fraud protection to investigate. I asked if they can ship my items instead and after holding for several minutes I was told they could not find a supervisor to approve the shipment. I was given a code for $30 off and when I tried to place my order again with the code, it said the code was already used. Horrible horrible horrible experience. I still don't have my products or a discount code for the inconvenience and I refuse to waste my time calling customer service for a third time. read more

My expectations weren't high for the grooming salon. I assumed with it being a chain the employee turnover rate would be really high. This hasn't been the experience. Finn, my Rhodesian Ridgeback, has had a few negative experiences at other places, so he generally does not like grooming. Although he is shaky when I bring him in, he relaxes quickly. The groomers do a good job - I generally get the Furminator, which really gets that short spiky undercoat. I don't have them do his ears, but they do grind his nails. They would have five stars except they never shave his paw pads, despite my requests. read more
