We had never used a kennel before, and were a little apprehensive due to our lack of experience. However, my daughter was very familiar with Sundance and highly recommended it. So, we decided to give it a try. I reached out and got a quick response. After confirming the dates I was looking for, they were clear in their communication with rates, what was needed (up to date Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines) and what was available (food, walks, playtime and medical administering). Dogs have their own "runs" with indoor and outdoor spaces and comforts from home are welcome (your own food, treats and toys). Morning and late afternoon hours are available for drop offs, which is very convenient. We added 3 walks a day and 3 playtime sessions. The outdoor time really helped our tripod acclimate to her new surroundings, even though she was a bit timid at first. The staff was very understanding of our initial concerns, and very reassuring. They took good care of her, making sure to keep an eye out and give us up dates. If you've never used a kennel before, Sundance is a great place to start. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, well kept grounds and immaculate kennels. I'm happy we found a kennel we can trust!

About 2 years ago I have noticed that my dog has been getting aggressive towards other dogs while on walks. I called several other trainers and nothing seemed to work. I spent a lot of time and money on training techniques that were unsuccessful. I finally took advice from a friend who also had great success with sit means sit. Within a couple of lessons everything clicked and my dog has been well behaved ever since. I never thought I would have my dog completely off leash walking by my side 2 years ago. Now he can do so much more! I love the way they work with you and make you feel confident when training your dog. They will work with any dog and help you with any problem! Thank you sit means sit!

My…read morereview is for this particular employee's behavior, not for their actual services... this guy who works there came out of the facility with a small dog on a leash and a much bigger dog with no leash on,I was walking towards the MMA MECCA place that is located across this doggy care, his dogs were barking at me and my children and then the big dog with no leash on went onto full attack mode at my 2 very small children, he didn't care his big dog was barking and attacking my kids, very much trying to bite my youngest child, THIS GUY cursed at me because I said to him to take his dogs away from my kids and that the big dog should be on a leash !!! Police were involved and all. I hope he gets fired from this place he works at. Another mom from a kid that attends the Mecca place BJJ came forward and told the police officer she and her kids were attacked by the same dog too in a different occasion and the guy didn't care to pull the dog away. Very bad to have a person who behaves like this working for a doggy care. Very irresponsible and careless to whatever that could have happened to me or my children,he didn't care, but instead chose to say to me to shut the &#_ up. My little 3 year old was terrified and crying because the dog was on her face trying to bite her meanwhile the owner kept walking away from the dog and wasn't even trying to stop the dog. I hope he gets fired,at least. And I hope he enjoys the ticket that the police department is giving him. The guy proceeded to get into his vehicle and then left with the dogs.

Like many people during Covid-19, we finally found ourselves with the opportunity to adopt a dog from a local rescue, after several months of deliberation. Per the recommendation of the rescue, we signed up for a group class and quickly realized our 4yo/58lb/ Pointer Mix wasn't ready for a group setting due to her anxiety around other dogs. After I sent a long-winded e-mail unsure about what to do, I received a prompt call from Montana, who calmly addressed our concerns and offered to do a house call. We live in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, and the Big Sky classes were being held in Winnetka, 30 minutes away. Without batting an eyelash, Montana was in our home the following day, arriving 15 minutes early and ready to hear our worries and concerns. My boyfriend and I felt relieved to hear her perspective and observations, and couldn't believe how fortunate we had been to have her as our trainer. As a note: The reason we were so impressed was due to her accessibility and a clear dedication to doing what is best for the dog. We had signed up for her 6-week Dog Obedience Basics (only 6 dogs per group, masks required) in Winnetka for approx. $180, and she charged us "only for gas" for the 1-hour house call. Prior to meeting her for 1 class, we had no relationship with her or experience with many trainers as several of the "premier" places in Chicago were booked. We were essentially strangers to her, and yet we felt like we received personal, premium care and service. Montana has set the bar high for our Dog Trainer expectations. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated professional, there's no reason not to call Big Sky Dog Training first. If you need more convincing, just remember that whatever you decide, in Montana's own words, "the needs of the dog comes first."

I spoke with the trainer about the program and was told I needed to purchase an E collar off of Amazon. They train owners how to use the e collar " humanely " and the training would cost in total $2,300 for approximately 5 lessons? It was also mentioned that the trainer that would be working with us doesn't like cold weather, so we would train inside? I am not actually sure how this would fix my dogs issue if he wasn't actually outside being trained near other people or dogs and for $2300 you should to enjoy all weather! I have consulted a canine behaviorist and she mentioned that e collars cause dogs with fear and anxiety to become aggressive because, the dog will begin to associate what they are already fearful of with pain. Thus causing more fear. After listening to the trainer sell his program, I was provided a demonstration by him with his own dog. The dog walked perfectly at the trainers side and seemed perfectly obedient until...The trainer removed the e collar to complete the demonstration. The dog took off running! I watched as this man tried to recall his pup, but the dog was not having it at all! This trainer had to get in his truck and go find his dog! Guessing the moral of the story is, if your dog only listens with a shock collar around its neck, it is not really trained, and will get away quick!
