Molly after her visit to The Barker Shoppe
    Lynsey H.

I have been taking Molly to The Barker Shoppe since we moved to Antioch almost three years ago and Brittany is wonderful with her. Not only does she do a great job grooming but more importantly she takes such good care of her which is more important to me. Molly is almost 18 years old. Brittany is so kind and patient and gives her the attention she needs with little breaks so she doesn't get too anxious. I'm sure Molly is not the easiest to groom with her old lady lumps, bumps and moles but Brittany does an amazing job. I'm grateful I can drop Molly off and feel confident she's in good hands. She always comes home with an extra pep in her step after her spa treatment

Great place. They listen pretty good and take good notes for future visits. They place is very clean and calm.

Happy boys all cleaned up and pretty!

This was our second time there and they did a fabulous job and they do not take long which I know is very nice for my dogs. They also do not cage them up at the end and I have found that keeps my babies so much happier. They don't come home stressed at all.

My Golden loves coming here! Not only does he smell and look great after leaving, they are not caged and are free to roam around with the other dogs. They also get a cute bandana to come home with every time. The groomers go above and beyond for every dog!

    Looks great! Thanks again!

My bully mix, shelter pooch has always been welcomed with open arms. I think they do a great job and are a real asset to the community.

I had my Maggie a 17 and a half Cocker Spaniel down 4 weeks ago. My experience was completely…read moredifferent from another reviewer, but I called and discussed all the financial options first. I had Maggie cremated and paid for a paw print. I'm really a mess after losing her. I paid a bit over $500. The doctor and staff was extremely supportive and sympathized with me. We could spend as much time needed after she passed and we were told to leave through the side door. Even when I went to pickup Maggie's ashes and paw print the staff was extremely sweet and supportive. I just started crying when I was handed the box.

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE!!!! Do not bring your pets…read morehere!! We brought our dog in to be humanely put down. We had hoped to help end the horrible suffering that began earlier that day. She was unable to walk and was crying/barking so loud it was breaking my heart. She had lived an amazing 15 years and it was her time. Once we got her into an exam room after filing out unnecessary paperwork, a vet finally came into the room and began examining our dog and asking all kinds of questions. Pushing on our dogs stomach making her cry even more. Then she tells us the she might have a growth in her stomach. Then walks out the door. Our dog is crying in pain and struggling to breath. We wait for about 15min before I walk out of the room to the front desk. I ask them when they will be in the room and why they thought pushing on my suffering dogs stomach was necessary. They didn't know what to say. I walked back into the room and continued sitting with my suffering dog. Around another 10 min goes by and my dog begins to vomit. She is unable to lift her head at this point and is choking on it. I could not watch her choke to death on her puke so I had to lift her head and try to get her airway clear. Finally able to get her to stop choking, I lay there holding my suffering dog as I listen to the vet and vet techs laugh and joke in the office area behind the exam rooms. A few minutes later a vet tech opens the door to find me and my vomit covered dog. The look on her face was panic. She ran to get an IV started and was screaming down the hall for the vet to get into the room. Once the IV was started and the VET casually with no urgency made her way to the room. We were pushed to the side and only able to touch our dogs rear legs. The VET injected the drugs so fast and never said any to us about what she was doing. The only thing she said when they all finally moved to the side was she has passed. It was one of the worst experiences I have gone through. Please do not bring your dog to this place. Please bring them to people with empathy and compassion who actually care about your pets and won't let them or you and your family to suffer the way we did while losing one of our fury family members.
