They seemed to do an OK job & they were reasonably priced. But I wanted the groomer to be closer to home. We always passed by Pets & Things in downtown Wauconda but there were no Yelp reviews to determine their credibility. Then a neighbor of ours mentioned she took both of her poodles to Pets & Things for a grooming appointment & they did a great job. So my husband & I decided to try them out. After making an appointment, we took our two dogs (who are such scardy cats) in for their Spa day. The owner asked us what we wanted in their hair cuts. She explained that she takes notes so if there is anything we did not like, she would not repeat it the next grooming appointments. I appreciated that because sometimes the other groomers did not completely listen. When we came back to pick them up, my dogs looked great (I'm trying to avoid using the adjective, adorable). They not only have a bandana around their neck but they leave with a "new hair cut" scent. I'm very happy with this groomer & their prices are very reasonable. Warning: They state they accept credit cards but prefer cash or checks. It's probably because of the fees the credit card companies charge.

They offer two great "first timer" special packages. Needless to say, she has gone back for 2 days of daycare since and absolutely loves it! After her first visit, I was amazed at how happy and at ease she was! Even more amazing is how excited she is to go back every time since. The prices are reasonable as doodles are high maintenance dogs and doodle owners know this. Henry looked great and was fresh and clean. When she would not honor the remaining nail trims she offered a new package at a "discounted price" which was actually the same price every one else got. I would suggest that people not pay ahead for her services as she is both unreliable and she won't return messages. This review has been a long-time in happening but it's mostly my fault for not knocking it out…read moreweeks ago. I was late to the pandemic dog/puppy party, I started work with a new shop that didn't require me to do the regular run & gun previous shops had me doing, and I finally felt ready to get a new puppy after two years of grieving on the loss of my last girlie. As soon as my new girlie had all her shots, one of the things I wanted to start doing early is getting socialized with as many different dogs as I could with her. Woodstock Canine was the first I visited and the only one that would take her as young as she was at the time. As time went by, she also visited a few other doggie daycare locations, one I avoided will go nameless, but it was a huge deal on Nextdoor about how they treat their four-legged clients and I promptly scratched them off the list. Another doggie daycare was going along great until I had to bolt out of town for a business emergency and let her stay the night at this 'other' location, I had gotten an alert from their staff that she wasn't walking great and was wondering if I could take her to my vet. The vet discovered that whatever the daycare/boarding facility used to clean the place burned a couple of her pads and I was out $900 in vet bills because their staff was probably more interested in Facebook updates than client health. One other scare sealed it for me never taking her there again. Woodstock Canine Clubhouse is exclusively where she goes for daycare and an emergency boarding if I get stuck with something, or I forgot about a party happening and didn't add it to Google Calendar. My girlie starts bouncing around when I make the right turn onto the road where Woodstock Canine Clubhouse is on and as soon as we're parked, she can't wait to get inside and play with her friends with the staff and all her other four-legged friends on the inside. At the end of the day, and as soon as we're barely out of their lot, she's crying that I'm taking her away from her friends, but that doesn't last long as she's fast asleep on the drive home. After dinner at home, she's fast asleep until around midnight when she asks to do her business (and dinner has digested) where she makes her way to the couch, bed, sometimes the crate and is back into a night of sleep only I can dream about having. Don't take my word on this, give your dog a day off and give Woodstock Canine Clubhouse a try, and see if your results mirror mine, I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

My dog struggles with grooms, he has a short threshold and gets anxious albeit the training. Ray got as much as he could get done, and I am greatly happy with the result. He did an amazing job with my samoyed. My only critique is catered towards booking appointments-- it is super easy to call, get connected with someone and/or to book online. However, my first appointment was cancelled 15 minutes prior to the set appointment time and had to be rebooked for a later day. This was disappointing as Groombar was not able to accommodate an appointment for that same day. Groombar is quite aggressive in securing your booking, such as repeated phone calls and texts. But, they are easy to reach! The prices are also quite high, but the service done for my medium/large sized dog is worth it. Overall, I'd recommend Groombar to my fellow friends and family who are looking for a mobile grooming service for their cats/dogs. I am very grateful that my dog's groomer had the patience and skills in dealing with an anxious dog during grooming.

She was foul as soon as I opened the door and began unloading on me. My dog is a rescue so he gets anxious and shrinks a bit when people are loud and aggressive & she scared him to death. She did not even say hello, she just began berating me from the hall. She did not return my attempt at cordial words or reconciliatory behavior. Not even a hello, no meeting the dog. She didn't even set foot inside. She caused a loud scene. She has cost the company what would have been a $160 plus travel plus tip service every 6 -8 weeks. I am out of the hospital and in need and this was unnecessary escalatory nonsense. Today, N _y- didn't even enter my unit & in under three minutes in my condo hallway, called me "Rude as f_ck!", audibly for the neighbors. A medical professional was on their way to meet me for an evaluation & before greeting me stated "What was her problem?? She almost ran me over stomping off in a huff!" Common courtesy is part of the service industry. This woman imo should not be working with vulnerable animals unsupervised in a van. She couldn't display compassion for the dog in front of their owner so I shudder to think what would happen alone with a defenseless animal in a van. Her Jerry Springer level antics were unwarranted but this nasty woman N_ y _ swore and stomped away for no valid reason. There was a technical issue. I spoke with a gentleman first thing in the morning, hours prior to the appointment to explain the issue and how to navigate to avoid any problems. It was easily navigable with minor effort. Appliance delivery, a hospital worker, grocery delivery and a physical therapist had no problem with me today. I had other appointments, but my dog was my priority. This alleged professional acted like a sitcom over the top nasty DMV worker with an irrationally irritated attitude, like my mere presence was a hassle for her. I no longer trust this company, because they did not even check on me or text to ask what occurred. That shows (imo) their endorsement of her swearing and lack of concern for customer experience or loss of customers. She refused to listen to explanation for the technical issue & raged like a wrestler on steroids. I planned to rely upon this service every 6 -7 weeks for the foreseeable future while I recover. Her unnecessary actions & dropping the F Bomb have cost them a customer, but they clearly aren't concerned, because they didn't check in or follow up, And that makes me worry for the animals in the care of people knowingly employing someone like this woman, I don't trust my dog with aggressive hot headed persons - nor should anyone imo.
