They blamed in on her having "thin" skin, but our dog's hair has been cut short several times without issue. To top it off they said that she was cut once, but we got home and discovered that she has stitches on BOTH of her hind legs. My baby now has a cone around her neck, can't jump and has to be taken to the vet in 2 weeks for the removal of multiple stitches. read more

We had great luck in the past with our elderly dog that can no longer make it on the table and did trims on the ground floor. Terribly sad how last we heard from the owner she was out of town and didn't know when she would be able to groom again. (Also, partly due to covid regulations). Drove by yesterday, open and greeting people/bringing in dogs for grooming! We never heard back or knew we could schedule again. Have been clients for a couple of years now for our dogs' curling nails. When you call you have to leave messages more often than speaking with someone! Sad we have moved our business elsewhere due to the lack of communication to their loyal customers. We have moved to PetSuites or PetSmart. I most definitely expected better. I brought my Golden Retriever into this place to have a full groom. I have them very specific instruction on the length of her coat. Instead the stupid bitch Heather SHAVED MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER ALL OVER!! she looks rediculous. I called pampered Tails to report my dissatisfaction. I spoke to Lisa first who was nice. She GM went and got Heather on the phone. She claimed she groomed to my specs but when they read back the instructions they wrote down from what I said it was completely wrong. Instead of admitting her mistake and apologizing she put her husband Eric on the phone who proceeded to scream at me that I was wrong and that they have cameras etc etc. I yelled back and then hung up. Used to love this place, but recently very disappointed. Very bad customer service on the owner's part. She chargers my entire family from different households different price after the Covid shut down. In the past, she used to charge the same price no matter the dog's hair. But apparently that is not her policy anymore and she'll up charge $15-$20 if the dog's hair is matted without early notice. The interesting thing is that my sister-in-law's dog's hair was also matted, but she didn't have to pay an up cheese. I used to recommend this place to everyone I knew. After the lockdown we got my Bernese mountain dog in right away and we have been using pampered tails for several years. My dog has a few fatty cysts that's he's had for 2 years that the groomer was aware of and have always left alone. I had a different groomer this time and when I picked my dog up she told me she saw the cysts and popped them! She didn't call to ask or consult me. About 3 weeks later I noticed a smell from my dog and took him to the vet. He had a terrible infection from the popping of the one cyst. He had to be shaved down in about a 4 inch by 4 inch area. He is now on antibiotics, anti inflammatory, and a special spray so it can heal. The vet said it was worst spot she's ever seen. I called to let Pampered Tails know and they were I totally pretty rude. Then called back without even talking to the groomer and said they were already popped when he came in which is lie. I am now out $200 in vet bills and so upset that my dog has such a large infection. I will not return and never recommend to anyone again. Already told my neighbor who I just recommended to a month ago that she should not bring her 3 dogs back. read more

The owners are friendly and put quality into their services. Recently a new practice seems to have been implemented. MINIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNTS IN ORDER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. The individual in front screens callers for "pricey" jobs and pushes lower dollar jobs to the rear when they feel like calling you back...if ever. Could you imagine the Salvation Army only accepting large donations or only Gold Coins and turning all pocket change away. How long would it survive? Our dogs love Pampered Tails! This is a clean shop, and you can see all the pets being cared for from the entrance. Our dogs get their nails done for $5 which is less expensive than any shop I know. They not only cut them, but also file them down so there are no sharp edges. The bath they provide is so good for the dogs. We get ours the oatmeal bath to help them prevent itching from their allergies and the dry air. The owner is always very friendly over the phone, and in person. She even helped us pick out the perfect size sweater for our little Chiweinie. The groomers give our Cavachon a perfect cut every time. The lady I spoke to on the phone when I made my appointment was very friendly and listened to all my concerns. She made sure my dog was paired up with a caring groomer and made my appointment for the morning time when the shop is quieter. First off the salon is extremely clean. Definitely one of the cleanest dog grooming shops I've ever been to. All the staff was very friendly. The groomer, Jeff listened to all my concerns and asked me questions about my dog. When I picked my dog up after being done at the groomer she looked so good!! Instead of being cooped up in a cage while my dog waited for me to arrive, she was sitting on her groomers lap! During covid it has been difficult to get an appointment which I understand so I had my appointment for about a month which I took of my weekend job in order to take her. They said they would call back to reschedule. I never heard back so I called a few days later and left a message. Their voicemail says they will call back within 24 hours, never heard back. Two days later I called again and left another Message. Never heard back. I guess I'm just incredibly disappointed as I had nothing good to say about this business and was a loyal customer. Lisa and Eric do an awesome job with my mega shedder. I've taken him to several groomers only to have him still raining fur upon pickup. The two of them get him to reduce his shedding for a few days until his coat starts growing more new layers again. They are always friendly and accommodating. I'm sad to see such negative reviews of them because they have been so helpful to our family, especially with reducing dander and therefore our allergies. We have another dog too and he's lower maintenance when it comes to grooming, but they help him when he's backed up (which happens a lot). read more

Been coming here for several years and been very happy with the services and staff alike. All that changed today, brought my two dogs like always after a long wait due to Covid- after a few hours the lady owner called back to tell me there's a surcharge, my digs hair was matted that is true but my dog was already half groomed (by me) and the lady owner started giving all kinds of reason for the $20 additional charge. I remained calm and told her that three of my relatives have had same experience ; when it dawn on me that she's charging "Covid fee" to come up with loss revenue while they were shut down. It's still not fair or legal - I'm an honest man and I believe in paying from honest work- this lady is exploiting people for not having many options due to other places losing their businesses. Can I give them negative stars?! The last time I took my dog there, was in the fall of 2019, and it was the LAST time! It has taken me this long to calm down enough to write this review. We had taken our Newfoundland there for several years. Never had a problem. He's a Newfie, so yes, he had mats-always did (his back haunches). I always told them to go ahead and shave those out. The person who usually groomed him did not work on him this time. The owner and her husband did. Not only did they shave out his mats, they shaved random chunks out of him (not matted) including his tail. We usually paid between $70-$90 for his groom. When I picked him up they asked for $200! When I was surprised, the owners husband came out and started yelling at me. Telling me it took 3 people to handle him. All of those years, never a problem. They were so aggressive with him that now we can't even approach him with a brush. Based on other reviews, this does not seem like a one-off, this seems to be standard practice there now. My advice is to stay far far away from this place! read more

OMG, stay away! I took my doodle in for the first time. I spoke to the groomer and gave her instructions on the cut I wanted, I even provided pictures. I just wanted a trim. I cannot believe what they did to my beautiful girl. She was shaved in some areas down to the skin. I don't even recognize her. I brushed her out before I took her in so she wasn't matted.
