Wow, just wow. I was there looking for a new stand and saw a good deal on fish. They have a 50% off sale on their fish right now so two baby angels for $5. Man, oh man. You better hope you have a 75 gallon tank with nothing in it cause with a 55 gallon planted community tank (1 angel and a few guppies) and I could not walk away with two baby angels. I understand if someone doesn't know what they're doing with their tank or new. You want to check that they won't be returned dead the next week and go to a good home. At least ask better questions than what size tank, what fish I have, and then with an snarky attitude go "you know how big angels get right?" and proceed the show a full grown adult. Yea I know how big they get. I owned angels; I have 5 planted tanks; hell I keep adult angels with guppies with no issues in a separate tank of mine. Of course not everyone's experience with these would be the same. The attitude was not worth going back and forth. Improve your professionalism and check yourself. Hopefully they won't be a floating corpse like the other 3 dead bodies in the tanks. Reinforces why I go the local fish stores in the area and never buy fish here. read more

This is a franchise. Do not expect great service, don't expect the staff to be knowledgeable, because they are only there to get their time in and leave. I adopted a cat here and it was the most horrific experience I could imagine. The process was horrible, misinformed, sloppy and unprofessional. I came over 3x and asked about the cat. One person told me she was not spayed and I would have to do it myself. Then the last person I talked to said she was. They only take cash for adoptions, which I was told $55, but after tax it was gonna be $60. No bill for me to look at just their word. I handed over the $60 with no receipt in return. Completely suspicious. How am I supposed to know if it was actually $0 or $10 and you're just scamming me. They told me she eats this brand of petsmart food and nothing was wrong with her. I bought the food they told me, and when I took her home she kept having diarrhea from the food. I bought new cat food and her diarrhea cleared up. It's just a terrible process. I rather go through the actual shelter, which is the Women's Animal Shelter than these guys. read more

I took my mini schnauzer in for a grooming after trying twice at two other petsmart location, my dogs groomer Taylor G was nothing short of amazing. I called to make an appointment for a nail trimming for my dog .They said , first we have to ask you is your dog up to date on her rabies shot .I said yes she is .They set up an appointment for the next day . I take my dog there and they say no , we can't cut her nails because it hasn't been 48 hours since she had her rabies shot .Like they couldn't tell me this on the phone .They refused to cut her nails after making the trip there with an appointment. They are so rude and nasty .My husband and I are senior citizens with a dangerous pandemic going on and they couldn't tell us this while on the phone . The SPCA just reopened their vaccine clinic this week and it was only 27 hours since my dogs rabies shot , not 48 hours .My husband and I are considered high risk for Covid 19 .Thanks Petsmart !! This review is only for the grooming section! Absolutely horrible. The people are beyond rude. When I made my appointment, I asked if I needed to make sure I needed anything since another petsmart I went to needed records of his rabies. They said no, he's all set to go. Well, upon arriving there, I was turned away. They asked "Do you have his paperwork of his shots?" What?!?!?! no I do not bc you said that everything was good to go (I didn't question it on the phone bc maybe all Petsmarts are linked somehow.) NOPE!!! I drove all the way there with my dog (whom gets extremely car sick) just to be turned away bc someone didn't tell me on the phone that he needed his paperwork. Oh, btw..I did have his yearly rabies thing they give to all dogs that gets the shot. I visited this location while I was on vacation in Philadelphia. And the groomer Victoria is absolutely amazing! I had to book her last minute because my normal groomer in Detroit couldn't do them. And my dogs look absolutely fantastic. I think this is the best groom they've ever had. They had a considerable amount of matting on the back of their legs and butt, and she was able to remove all of the matting while still keeping length and shape. She was also very polite and listened to all of my ridiculous requests with their haircuts. And they came out looking better than they ever have before. If they weren't so fat they could be show dogs with how good they look. I'd recommend her to anyone! read more

We have been bringing my dog here for over 13 years, now never will they see our dog again. We brought our dog in on Thursday for the usual, wash, haircut, nails, and ear plucking. We received our dog back like this. His head, face, and ears weren't cut at all. Nails weren't trimmed, and ears weren't plucked, but guess what, we were still told to pay FULL PRICE for the service even though the job was half done. We were told that 3-4 people had to hold this little old dog down. Absolutely not in the 13-14 years we have been bringing him here has this happened. Our dog is not vicious nor bites. He only gets scared and bites when he people hit him or scare him. We were told to call the next day to speak with a manger only to be hung up on and on hold forever then hung up on. We are never bringing our dog back here, I don't even want to know or think about the things they could've done to our little dog. We don't care about the money, I want to see security footage. Poor service. I walk in the store and stop at the Parakeet cage. An employee or manager approached and asked if I needed help. I said yes I want to buy a parakeet. She says, "We don't sell animals after six-thirty because I don't have the staff." Her arms were not broken; she could have reached in and got me a bird. That would have been good service. Instead, I got no service. I drove five miles to give them my money. When I called earlier in the day and asked if they had parakeets, they said yes; but again, poor service because nobody told me they don't sell them after six-thirty. Just imagine a manager telling you there's no one there to help you. What kind of management is that? She is supposed to be there to get the job done, not turn away customers. If you're in charge, take charge and satisfy the customer. That's what business is all about. read more

I don't mind coming to this location regularly. The store is always clean and the shelves are well-stocked. They also have a great selection of products, particularly natural pet foods. The animals I see in the store always look healthy and happy. PetSmart also has a great discount/rewards card. I am happy shopping here and will continue to do so. read more

Our experience with our groomer (Victoria) has always been great. My dog, Mia, is always happy to see her and that's a great sign. Victoria is professional, pleasant and very sufficient in grooming. As far as the rest of the employees, I've never had any issues with any of them. I would definitely recommend this store for grooming. However, I only make purchases during the weekdays or online due to crowds during the weekends. But, that's a positive sign that it's a five star store. :) read more

I love this location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They always greet you when you walk through the door. They are always available for questions and very knowledgeable with their answers and if they don't know the answer they are honest and tell you instead of giving false information. They accept coupons from their competitors. I was able to use a Petco coupon there. The manager is extremely nice. Their selection is phenomenal as I've never been able to not find what I need. I cannot comment on the grooming aspect as I have never had the need to use it. read more

I take my 3 and a half year old Miniature Schnauzer to the grooming salon regularly. He has been going there since he was a puppy. Ashley is his groomer. She is so patient and loving with him and all the dogs. He is always thrilled to visit her. As soon as I say we're going to Ashley's, his ears perk up and he gets very excited. He loves to see her. Ashley does a wonderful job. He always looks great when she is done. All the other people in the salon and throughout the store are very friendly and greet us when we arrive. This review is for the grooming salon specifically. Ashley has been grooming my doodle for almost 3 years now, and she is fantastic. She always does exactly what we ask. Though we did everything "by the book", my guy still hates being groomed. He will literally lay flat on the floor and needs to be dragged to the salon. BUT, if he sees Ashley through the window he wags, picks himself up and walks through the door. So my conclusion, loves his Ashley, hates being groomed! This is my go to store for all of our pets needs. The staff at the store are very helpful and will become familiar with your family and pets. The store is typically crowded, but they are great with having enough lines open. The groomers are very experienced and do a great job with caring for our cat and dog. Yesterday I went to this persmart and was extremely pleased. I strolled into the fish depaetment with a million and one questions, and Ruby answered every one of them. She was so friendly and funny, very knowledgeable. She recommened products to me, and only one day after doing what she told me i see an extreme difference in my tank. Only reason this is a 2 star instead of a 1 star review is due to past fairly decent experiences and for Cheryl, the Blue Buffalo representative who comes to the store on Saturdays, sometimes with excellent coupons for Blue Buffalo products. Today on my day off about 10:10 am I went into this location with a coupon for a free bag of Nutro dog food, and associate Holly refused to honor the coupon, claiming it came from a bogus e-mail address (FALSE - it came from a legitimate Pet Smart e-mail address; since I have printer issues at home I forwarded it to my work e-mail address since I have a color printer there. I explained this to Holly several times but it fell on deaf ears - she finally got manager Kathy there after I bitched her out - which I hate doing). Kathy finally listened to me and honored the coupon as a courtesy, claiming that only coupons with my name on it were valid - but no apology. Later when I got home I saw that it was indeed from a valid Pet Smart e-mail address?! (I've received legitimate Pet Smart e-mails from the same address - AND the coupon in question had a bona fide Pet Smart logo on it!). I was intrigued to read prior reviews stating this location honored competitors' coupons (e.g. Petco) but today they wouldn't even honor their own coupon?! Guess I'll have to focus more on online shopping for my furkids or going to PetValu on Huntingdon Pike (where they always treat you well and lower sales tax to boot since not in Philly). IMO I feel I am not only entitled to a sincere apology from Pet Smart from management upwards but also that Holly should receive severe written reprimands for poor customer service & falsely accusing me of having a bogus coupon, if not outright fired. read more

I've bought my dog to this location a couple of times to get groomed. The first few times, I was so mad at how they were not caring about how nervous he gets around his feet. I do admit, I am an anal mother when it comes to my baby. But hearing him scream from the viewing window was so heart dropping to me. I have been taking my dog here for 14 years. Minus the times they were closed for renovations- in which case I took her to the one on the Blvd by Target. I am always happy with the grooming, the staff, the stock, and the front end store associates. ( My dog just gets bathed, teeth/ears cleaned and nails trimmed. Never cut b/c she doesn't have fur like that. The prices are reasonable. Any occasion I didn't have my vet records/her rabies tags on me the staff just called my vets office and verified she had her shots. I agree with the policy- I want my dog to be protected from other dogs- just as much as the staff wants to be protected from my dog. Highly recommended. read more
