My first time at this location. Store was clean and well organized. It's an older store inside a strip mall. My son goes to another pet store for special food for his German Shepherd , but since I was in the area I went to see if they had his dog food or mixers. They didn't carry either one. The main reason I stopped here was my son told me they carry his favorite fetch toy which he had wore out and it had a hole in it and some of the stuffing was coming out , so we had to throw it away. It's made by Joy Hound. They 're called Rip Roarin' Tough and they are really good quality made. The material is like a canvas and it can be washed after being chewed on , slobbered on , in the dirt and rain , you get the picture. His was at least a year old. His favorite is the Hot Dog. He also has the Beer Mug and 2 of the Pizza Slices. There was also like 2 other designs. I play fetch with him everyday with these and they are tough ! I highly recommend them. My only complaints would be they don't offer a Military Discount. Also when I gave them my phone number for my old account when I had 2 cats in Vegas , my account must've been deleted since it's been like 2 years since I shopped at PetSmart. So any points I had on the Rewards Program are gone. read more

Other than not always having the dog food I'm looking for, our doodle loves this store. When we say PetSmart, she knows that's her store and she gets to go shopping. I don't use their grooming (bad experience) but the store seems clean, pretty well stocked, and most clerks are friendly and seem to really like the pets that come in. We don't get there often as I order from their parent company and the heavy bag of food is delivered to my door. read more

I have always used Petsmart for everything from dog food, treats and grooming. Buyer beware, I didn't do the research! My last groomer, who I didn't pick, caused numerous injuries on my dog's belly. Those injuries turned into a major staphylococcus infection. This is not what I want to happen to my pup or anyone else's. I will not use them for grooming, but they have lost all of my business. I rarely have bad reviews, only when needed as a caution. They need to screen their employees better and perhaps pay them more for their services. read more

We were on a six week RV trip and, after repeatedly finding ticks on me, I became concerned for my 11 year old lab. We were leaving OK the next day and I was having difficulty finding a vet or groomer who could schedule her that same day. Petsmart had an opening so I took her in for her first-ever professional grooming. The receptionist (cashier 565452) was an absolute doll and immediately did a tick check, to which she felt none, which definitely made me feel better. "Lilly" had been in every questionable body of water from California to New York to Oklahoma and, although it makes her happy, she really was a mess. Emma the groomer did an AMAZING job, I can't thank her enough, from the ear cleaning to the nail trim to the removal of all that excess English Lab fur; my chocolate came out beautiful and she really enjoyed the experience which I did not expect. But my favorite moment was when Lilly recognized the cashier behind the counter as the receptionist that had checked her in...her face lit up, she proceeded behind the counter and wrapped her body around her to say thank you to her! I realize it is not good manners to allow my dog into her space, especially for the poor cashier trying to work, but I had never seen her do this to a stranger. Thank you both SO much! If you buy dog food at PetSmart, I'd like to recommend that you stop. They have raised their prices during the COVID-19 pandemic the maximum amount they could legally raise it without being charged with price gouging. What a despicable corporate policy. I'll never darken the door of another PetSmart. I'm going to take a personal interest in trashing this company for the remainder of my life, in every fashion and every medium possible. I've been buying the same 35lb bag of dog food from them once monthly, for about 10 years. It has always been $44.xx. It is the same at other retailers all over the metro and surrounding areas. Today, during the pandemic, their price has increased 20%+ in one month's time. Unacceptable. Despicable. You get one star because I can't award zero stars. I hope you are audited and your store managers, district managers, and regional personnel are investigated for price gouging. You should be driven out of business, and I'm going to spread the word, far and wide, and use the internet in my efforts to make your company suffer the consequences of these repulsive and borderline legal pricing tactics. read more

This Petsmart is SMART. This location has a Banfield pet hospital and carries Royal Canine prescription food for dogs and cats. I have to buy prescription food for one of my kitties and this is the only PetSmart I know of that has the stuff I need. Bonus that it's close to home. It's always clean and organized to! I love the staff because you get the sense that they genuinely care about animals. I also really like their selection of cat toys and furniture. You can purchase amphibians, fish or gerbils. Martha Stewart even has a line specifically for canines. Man, that woman is everywhere. If you look puzzled or lost, someone greets you with a smile and tries to help you in any way possible. read more

I've been to this Petsmart location on several occasions to purchase dog food and rat bedding for my critters. I've always found this location acceptable - nothing phenomenal but nothing to complain about really. Recently, I took my two dogs in to their in store grooming salon since bathing them at home can be a hassle when it's too cold to do it outdoors. I always think twice when I take them in for grooming since my beagle, Snoopy, can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to getting groomed. It's just not on his list of favorite things to do and I feel bad for the poor groomer that finds him on her table. The groomer we met today, the quality of her service and her patience and understanding of my little "problem child" is what prompted me to write up this review and recommendation. Ashley at Petsmart is absolutely amazing! I have no idea how she does it but my dog actually listened to her, held still, and seemed happy about getting a bath. He looked much better than before and seemed very calm throughout the grooming appointment. You can tell Ashley truly knows dogs and how to deal with them. I've had other groomers get frustrated with Snoop's squiggling and barking but Ashley was somehow able to calm him down long enough to give him a terrific haircut. She works fast too so I think his grooming was over before he knew what was even happening! I recommended her to my girlfriend who has an older poodle. Her poodle just looks like a big fluffball since it's a big ordeal to haul her in to get a haircut. When I told her I'd found an awesome groomer she took her dog in too and they are now regular customers of Ashley's. The level of care and love of dogs surpasses the groomers we've seen in the past. I give Ashley four stars and encourage you to request her services next time your pup needs a makeover. read more

I love this PetSmart! There are always lots of dogs inside the store and at the checkout counter we get treats! They allow shelters to be outside or inside their store quite frequently which is awesome. And whenever I need help finding something or advice about foods he will like. The trainer, Shannon is very nice and patient with the dogs/puppies. Since my dog has a short & long body, he needed a lot of help with already with laying down. She had lots of different ways to teach him, so I felt like I was getting my monies worth. read more

I don't know much about dog services, but I can tell you that as far as customer service when I get animals, supplies, food, or feeder insects, I have always received great help and customer service at this location. At one point I forgot my wallet after shopping and selecting all of my supplies, and the nice female employee working the register was very cooperative and understanding and held my picked items while I had to run 20 minutes home and 20 minutes back to the store. Please know I take complaints seriously and always believe you should try to resolve your issue with the company directly first. I did that - and it was my experience in doing so - that led me to this review. I called today to get my dog an appointment at 3 PM. He is blind in one eye and has a heart condition. (He is 13). On the phone, I expressed concern over him being kept in a long cage for long periods of time. They assured me that he would be done long before 7 PM. I expressed this concern again at the time of drop off, and again, it was taken care of quickly. At 6 PM, when I was already on the west side of Norman to pick him up, I called to check on his progress. I was told that they needed a few more "minutes" and then it would be closer to seven (not a few minutes - an hour). Again, I expressed a concern over his heart and being in the cage. They assured me he was doing fine. I told my husband to stop by and pick him up at 7 PM on his way home from work. When my husband arrived, our dog was not out in the open, and he was told that they needed at least another 45 minutes to an hour. This would mean my dog would not be ready until 8 PM! It also meant that during my phone call, and upon my husband's arrival, that they had not even started my dog even though he had been there for 4 hours at this time. My husband called me and I was so upset that I decided to call the manager on duty. She told me to hold a few minutes while she checked on my dog. Meanwhile, people kept picking up the phone and asking me how they can help me and I kept telling them I was on hold with a manager. Ultimately, the groomer working on my dog picked up the phone and said she knew I was waiting on a manager but that she was working on my dog and he would be ready in 30-45 minutes. So, when you called to complain about an employee at Petsmart, the manager is simply going to put them on the phone to talk to you directly. Great management skills (sarcasm)! Now, the groomer who is currently working on my dog knows that I have complained about her and now, of course I am incredibly stressed about my dog's well-being. There was no apology, and again, I expressed concern over his heart, and she quickly told me that he was fine. She then told me that if I was really worried about him I should've ordered an "express service." What?! I have been going to this groomer for four years and have never been told of this option. She acted like I was an idiot for not knowing about this, despite her being the one who took my dog from me and heard my concerns about his heart and never once thought to mention this. She told me all about their new computer system implemented today and how much stress it was putting on them, but how she can now text message me as soon as he was done. It never even crossed her mind to tell me that there was an option to pay more to have him done quickly which I would've gladly agreed to? But to then act like I'm the incompetent who didn't order it, was just ridiculous. (PS - how many of these express dogs did they put in front of my bad heart dog?). The manager never got back on the phone. My husband finally got to pick up my dog just before 8 PM, and of course, pay full price for the haircut. I did not expect a free haircut, but an apology or some sort of acknowledgment that they had kept my dog captive for five hours with a heart condition, would've been great. Instead, the groomer lied to my husband and said that she told me when I dropped off my dog that it would be "at least 7:30." There is nothing I can say other than COMPLETELY UNTRUE. People mess up all the time - just apologize - it shows humility and humanness. But to lie and try to CYA,makes me have no sympathy for the overloaded schedule and new computer system. It makes you dishonest and a business that can't be trusted. To the manager that passes employee complaints directly to the employee to handle - you should not be a manager (my call to this manager was at 7:04 PM 6/22/15). I will never bring my dog back to this place, and I would recommend you do not bring yours either. read more

I hate this place, especially Angela who was doing hair and nail cut for my dog. After I came to pick up my pet, my dog was crying, trying to tell me something, looked sad and agressive. Angela told me that my dog was mad and did not let her do a good haircut. My dog is always calm and nice, no barking, no agression. I never had a complain from any salons. My dog was not properly showered, so I had to shower her again and remove the cut hair. I had to fix the haircut myself. After getting home I noticed blood on her feet and under nails. I would not recommend anyone to take their dogs to Angela, absolutely never. read more

We ordered and paid for our purchases online only to find out that their computer system crashed leaving us with out merchandise and out the payment already made. Upon arriving at the store we were told that we could find the merchandise ourselves and it would be taken care of at the check out. ( gee thanks) We had a copy of everything from the verification email so we rounded up the stuff and proceeded to try and check out. Petsmart said we had to pay for everything again and when the fixed their computer we had to come back in again to cancel the original order. She couldn't say when that money would be refunded. Needless to say we left with out our merchandise that we had already paid for and with out a refund. Also with out any sort of apology. Went to this store to pick up some items. As always I had my pet therapy dog with me. I put the dog in a close down/stay and dropped the leash as I compared a couple of items. An employee or manager walked pass and in a rude voice said, "Keep your hands on your leash at all times". Okay no problem but the rudeness, really? I have been coming to this store for years and never encountered such rudeness. Although the other employees were helpful they did not seem to be their happy selfs. Totally different atmosphere. The manager, Cathy, is a rude human being!!!! I was checking out and I was buying a guinea pig and I had two cards to pay with and she was not willing to work with me. She kept on saying "It's not gonna work, it's not gonna work" and she gave me a really bad attitude and I was not down with that. I even apologized saying "I'm sorry this is so difficult" because I only had a certain balance on each card and I could not pay the whole amount on one card. All I asked was for them to cut my dogs nails, as I watched from the window, I saw that my dog was bleeding. He was in pain and crying and instead of stopping, they tried to muzzle him and hold him down to keep going. I ran in there immediately and told them to stop and that I was taking my dog. She showed absolutely no concern and told me that it was normal for dogs feet to bleed and that it was not her fault. She was extremely rude and dangerous for dogs. By the time I got to the car, my dogs foot was totally covered in blood and the blanket he lays on covered. I took him back and demanded the vet tend to him. She was still giving me extreme attitude and tried to tell me that dogs feet bleed every time you cut their nails. Do not bring your dog hear to get groomed!! read more

They always do a great job on my poodles when I bring them in for grooming, and my dogs aren't exactly the easiest dogs in the world to groom (they hate baths, brushing, and haircuts). The boys always look wonderful when they're done. read more

Store #214 Norman, OK June 4th, 2015 , Grooming issues My 11 year old labra doodle was trained as a service dog and has helped me for several years. The last 5 years, I have been unable to bath him, so I have been taking him to PetSmart's grooming with no problems. I dropped him off at 10:30 a.m. and was told that he would be finished at 1:30 p.m. At 1:30, I was told it would be another 40 minutes. I waited. At 2:30, I was told it would be another 15 minutes. I waited. At 3:15, I left the store with my dog not finished. One ear was cleaned but not the other one. Two feet were grind but not the other two. His hair was shaved but his glands were not excreted. I am aware of you "guarantee" but the manager of the store told me that he was proud of her (Chris), the groomer, who never mentioned any problems with the dog. I was very exhausted from all of this and worried that I would not get my dog returned to me. Now, I am taking my dog to the vet for an ear infection in the one ear that she cleaned. Here is my question: Can I expect this kind of treatment toward me and my pet every time I need a groomer? It seems that the new manager approves of this treatment. Where do I begin? My first experience with PetSmart was overall very good; I was looking for a new goldfish and PetSmart had a very nice selection of goldfish. I tend to buy feeder goldfish because A. they are cheaper and B. there are more of them to choose from. I wanted a feeder goldfish that was excluded from the main feeder tank and I asked an employee if it was for sale, and it was, so I purchased it. Because of this good experience, I recommended to my friends, who were becoming first time fish owners, to get their fish from PetSmart. They also decided to pick feeder goldfish from tanks other than the main feeder tank. This is where the trouble started. A different employee would not let us buy the goldfish because she said we didn't have a proper home for the fish.We found this statement extremely hypocritical because a lot of the tanks in the store, especially the feeder tank, had no filtration or bubblers in there for the fish to live comfortably (not to mention the vast amount of poop and dead bodies floating in these tanks). We weren't buying fancy goldfish or tropical/salt water fish. We were buying feeder fish; fish that are destined to die if first time fish owners, like my friends, weren't there to buy them. My friends were not putting then into a bad home either; I am a fish owner of 8 years and I know the difference between good and bad homes. I was upgrading to a bigger tank and sold them my 3 gallon fish tank that had a filter and bubbler in it, and my 6 goldfish were happy the whole time they were in that tank (4 months). After explaining the circumstances with the employee she still refused to sell us the feeder goldfish we wanted; she basically would't let us have any fish from the store, including the feeder fish tank. After a point in time the employee was very reluctant but still allowed us 1 out of the 4 fish we wanted. We were not happy to say the least. The next day I decided to give PetSmart a second chance, so I went to go get a couple more feeder goldfish for my new tank. A different employee yet again denied me the feeder goldfish I wanted, this time for a different reason; the goldfish that were separated and previously purchasable were suddenly not for sale because they could die from "shock" if taken out of the tanks. I got that other fish mentioned above in the same week, so there was no policy change or quarantine, and it is living happily in my new tank. I did not get the fish I wanted again, but I was able to adopt two more feeder fish from the putrid feeder tank. I don't understand why they have these fish if they are reluctant to sell them; that defeats the entire purpose of owning a pet store. I understand PetSmart somewhat cares about the well being of their animals because not everyone is capable of adequately take care of fish. But feeder fish were meant to be sold as food, so why should PetSmart even care if we are giving them a second chance. The fact that they also don't physically care for their fish (dirty tanks without filters, bubblers, etc) makes me question the quality of treatment towards their other animals. I was surprised that their fish are healthy in the first place. All in all, DO NOT SHOP AT PETSMART.... that's if they even sell them to you.... at least I was able to save a few lives.... read more
