I've been taking my pup in for a monthly bath and grooming for almost a year now. I've been meaning to write s review but just never have. This grooming salon is fantastic. From the service to the final result.. it's all so good! First impressions: They are always busy so make sure you make an appointment at least a week out or 2-3 if it's near a big holiday. The salon is always pretty clean, which is amazing with all the volume that they do. Service: The people who work here are so friendly and so helpful. Whether it's just taking your info or walking you through various products that they offer that may benefit your pups skin or coat. For example my little girl had some really dry skin towards the end of fall and they let me try a hemp based shampoo.. was amazing! Now it's my go to in the colder months. The attention they give to the animals is remarkable. My pup loves going in and getting a bath from Frances. She does SUCH a great job. Pricing: It can definitely run you up but when you think about how a monthly bath benefits your animal and how over 30 days that bill averages out to not very much. It's so worth it. When it's warm out I do the baths myself but when it's cold out... I leave it to the professionals to keep my little girl warm. read more

My dog has been to the Nampa Petsmart for grooming before and we've never had problems until today. I brought my dog in at 9 a.m. for a bath and brush. I was told it would be 2-3 hours and they would call me when she was ready. I ran errands and waited for they're call. After waiting for over 3 hours I called the store and was told the groomer was at lunch and I would have to wait for them to call me back. They did not call so at the 4 hour mark I went to the store to see what was going on. I was told I needed to wait an additional 15 minutes because my dog hadn't been brushed yet. I finally was able to get my dog and take her home. They discounted the service by 10%, taking $7.60 off the bill. When I got home I noticed my dog's right eye was very red and watery and she was having a hard time holding her eye open. After a trip to the urgent care vet, we were told her cornea must have been scratched during the grooming. They're excuse for the delay was short staffing. But regardless of staffing issues they need to ensure the safety of the animals in their care. read more

I had scheduled a grooming appointment for my Shepard mix. In order to get the appointment sooner I booked with Karla, as she was the only one with availability. Upon arriving, she seemingly lacked any personality or zest for the job. She started questioning whether he was matted or not, which was very specific and I've never been questioned about. She stated he was matted and I'd need to reschedule with someone that can cut those out. As a Shepard mix with a double coat, his hair is thick and can be brushed out. I told her that he could be brushed out and every groomer in the past, at that PetSmart, had no issues. Since I was 45 minutes early I asked if I brought him out to the car and brushed the "matts" out, would she groom him. She responded that she wouldn't. Her flat out refusal to work with me, alongside her snarky smile, like she had accomplished something great by refusing to take my dog, made me cancel my other dog's grooming appointments. I won't be back and I absolutely recommend not taking your dog to Karla. It took me 10 minutes to brush out his hair. read more

I have been here once but my fur baby has always been nervous to go to the groomer and unfortunately I believe my previous groomer was not a nice person and therefore was not kind to the dogs. I really enjoy the deals and how many options their are for all types of pets, but can't enjoy when there is a dog with a employee just barking its head off in the store when they see another dog. All their barks echo through the store and it's just really loud and overstimulating. I hate to be that customer and I love to see the improvement if they are training the dog, but maybe a less stimulating store will help them achieve that goal. read more

No wonder this place has low ratings. The manager and groomers are unprofessional, and they lie about our visits to attempt to get out of grooming our dog. The last time I took the dog to get nails trimmed, they hardly cut them and had to pay $20. When we tried to make an appointment, they lied, saying we refused to pay. Subpar results, so if anything, they stole our money! The snowflake girls can't take when a customer is unsatisfied and wouldn't accommodate our need for a leash. You can't find help when you go in, and they are very overpriced. Very bad customer service and poor management equal 1 star! read more

We were 15 minutes late getting there due to construction and traffic getting into the shopping center. We were bringing 3 dogs and they stated because we were 15 minutes late our groomer could not take any of the 3 dogs since she was already over booked! I completely understand not taking all 3 dogs but it is not my fault that you overbooked yourself! read more

I had high hopes taking our dog here to get groomed. But when I got her back it was the worst cut I've seen. So uneven, they didn't clean out her ears or trim them, she has long pieces of hair in areas she shouldn't. I simply asked for a complete even shave so it wasn't a super hard or complicated cut. I got charged a handling fee, and I'm not sure why. Our dog is very friendly and kind, a little timid but never aggressive or mean. So I'm not sure why I got charged what I did? Definitely not worth the 144 dollars I spent on something that looks like I did it myself at home. 0/5 stars if I could give this zero stars I would. read more

I really liked the groomer for my dog and the ease of use of scheduling online. After going here for 2 years , I was late this one time and they refused to take my dog for grooming. I stood in the waiting area for 10 minutes before anyone even looked up to help me. I was 15 minutes late due to traffic but after the extra 10minutes waiting like a dummy in the waiting room , they said I was too Late. I remember several times that the groomer told me she was running late and would have to put my dog in the holding area. But I guess this only goes one way. This place seems under staffed or poorly managed. I would say customer service is lacking too. They offered another appointment but that won't be happening. I'll find someone new. Time to move on. What a pain. I won't be shopping at Petsmart either. read more

Went to this location and asked a sales associate of they stocked anything to us on the folds of the face of a bulldog. They pretty much said " well if we have something like that it would be over on isle such and such" . Wasn't helping another customer at the time but I guess to dang busy doing nothing to walk over and show me our help me look. Left that stoe and went to Petco and they were very helpful. Bad service starts at the top so come on Managers train your staff to help people. And also remind your people that the customer pays their wage not their company. Without customers you don't have a job. What the heck is wrong with the new young people working? They act like their doing you a big favor helping you... lazy lazy kids.. read more

We have a new dog and went to schedule a grooming three weeks out. We get there and they let us know then we needed to bring rabies paperwork. The tag wasnt enough. When I call for a problem about dog training this lady always picks up in the rudest tone. And it's not April the trainer. The point is don't bring your dogs to dog training they just talk the whole time and don't even help your dog or puppy, waste of my time. And no one ever asks if you need help. read more

I walked in with my pet and the new manager instantly recognized my lab from the Boise pet hotel and greeted her by name ! The salon took excellent care of my dog she is older and has arthritis in her back legs I would highly recommend this Petsmart ! read more

BEWARE***I had an appointment today with Kristiana for the "Bath & Brush" service which includes: Bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, paw & pad trim, sanitary trim, anal gland cleaning & more... I paid extra for the teeth cleaning. I dropped my dog off at 10am and got a call just before 1 to pick him up. I get there, tip 20% and take the dog to the car. I look him over and nails aren't cut, ears are dirty, teeth aren't brushed and sanitary-clip was not done. I call and ask what in the world could have happened. The Manager Breanna tells me they must have overlooked these things since they have been busy. I ask them if they can please take care of everything that was missed and she assures me that they could and that she would do it herself. I pick him back up 15 min later. Check him over and his ears were poorly cleaned and his sanitary trim wasn't done AGAIN! How frustrating. First and last time I take my pet here.... Shame, shame. read more

Petsmart at Marketplace Nampa- I took my granddog in a few days ago. The girls were super great with him. My problem is that I could not even tell that I had just spent nearly $30 on him. He had a bath, condition, brushing and nails cut (they were super long). The nails still look super long and still curl under and his short coat looked the same as when he went in, also I didn't notice any freshly bathed smell on him, I swear! I can't tell that he was there! So now I have to take him back to redo the nails they are still super long! read more

Had my dog groomed here for the third time. Maddie groomed him the first two times & did an amazing job! This time Rylee groomed him & it went very poorly. My double coated dog was shaved, very unevenly, to the point I didn't recognize him. I asked for a breed specific clip. Shape his chest, ears, feet, fringe, & booty area, trim the body shorter. He is long shaved from head to toe. I literally cried when I got him to the car. I paid over $80 for a shave. I am angry and sad that my dog's coat is basically ruined. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Today is August 17, 2021 I tried to get my little 16 lb dog in for full grooming. I am usually charged around $80 and I tip really well on top of that! Could not get my dog in until September 12th. Forget it ... I will find some other place to go who probably will not charge as much and hopefully will not nick him in the process as well. I had to make sure that I give this grooming saloon RAVE reviews anywhere I can. We have 3 little dogs and two of them need groomed monthly if not sooner. The issue is all of our dogs are rescue animals and the two that need groomed where abused BADLY early in their life's. I called on Wednesday to make an appt for our terrier mix who as a puppy had kids use fireworks on him, and beat him to within almost death. We rescued him after the shelter was about to put him down because he would bite any kid or teenager who came near him. I sat down in his cage with a t shirt. He crawled over to me and crawled up my chest and buried his head in my neck and shaking so hard it was hard to hold it together. He give a large sigh and relaxed... has been my wifes "little man " every since that day. He wears t shirts as a way to comfort him and will bring out a new shirt daily so you can change it for him. All this back story is important as I have tried other "cheaper " groomers only to have them complain he was " stiff, would growl, or excuses why they didnt finish or do his nails as requested " but this has NEVER happened at the PetSmart in the Marketplace. I made the appt (though I wasnt to happy to hear they now charge $3 more because you make a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday appt) I made the appt and arrived at 7am Friday Morning to drop him off. I sat him down on the counter and he decided he wanted to go into the back room and jumped down and let himself into thw back room and stood by his favorite kennel I guess. It was priceless. I explained we wanted him shaved down, have his ears cleaned, and his nails grinded down with the Dremel. His stylist was Selena and he loves her, she understands his background and history. She blocks him from view of teenage boys who maybe in the area so he can enjoy his spa treatment and not mess himself when he sees a "threat." If your wanting a grooming Saloon loaded with groomers who will love your family member as much as you do then pick this PetSmart! Management of PetSmart - work on that extra charge for Friday, Saturday, Sundays.... I usually spend 60+ per dog monthly in just grooms not to mention the Blue Buffalo food, toys, treats, and of course his new shirt after every groom. I honestly felt like being punished because I need them groomed around paydays so you charge me more. Rethink this please! read more

I think that Petsmart is so-so. I would say that they do have some great items for your pets, but they are almost as over-priced as Zamzows, I hate the sales people, and people do not really know what they are talking about. They have plenty of goodies for your feline friends. They have a variety of treats and grooming items. They have cool collections of toys and clothing for your pet. There is so much that is lacking for as much stuff that they have. I purchased a Red Ear Slider from them a few years ago. It is an aquatic turtle that was added to the invasive species list some time after I bought Dino. Although they are aware of how big a RES can get they do not have the supplies to accommodate the critter. You have to go on a quest on Amazon and Ebay to find the products that you need for your huge turtle. I think they grow to 12 inches. What I find irritating is that they have people wondering aimlessly through the store. Some are sales agents for certain brands of dog food. It really makes it confusing when you have a specific question about what to get for your dog. Then when you are asking someone who is not a sales agent they seem to be lost about what you are asking for. I decided not to utilize their grooming services. They injured Frank's nail and I had to take him to the vet ever since then. Not only that there are numerous horror stories about their grooming services that I really do not doubt. It would be nice to have another place to go for my dog's needs, but across the street is Petco and they are the same exact store with a different name. read more

Adopted a kitten out from under me. Went into store on 7/19/18 and inquired about adopting a all black kitten. They called me about a hour or 2 later and said that they just got a new batch of cats and there was a black kitten among them. I had just got to Boise to gf's house and didn't feel like going back to Nampa to get the kitten, I would have but the girl I talked to said not to worry just pick him up in the morning. Suffice to say that i was there when they opened the doors and found out that Jet was adopted out from under me. Hey you snooze you lose but I have to feel that they screwed me on that one. That gets 3 stars but they are overpriced here as well, so they get the 2. read more

The employees here are always doing the most. They have a TON of product knowledge. And my poor dog had a diarrhea episode happen on the floor, and an employee helped pick it up. THAT WON ME OVER. They have so much compassion for animals. The grooming team is amazing, very friendly. And the dog camp is just outstanding. I just wish they had a small grassy area for dogs who are trained to go outside to poop/pee. I don't know who the manager is but they really picked the best candidates to hire. I am so upset concerning the lack of knowledge concerning aquariums and quality of their fish stock. I am new with aquariums took water samples in and the first young lady side the PH was high. That I should remove the drift wood bake it to sterilize it in the oven. Do a particle water change come back in 2 weeks. Did that brought in water different young lady. PH too high ..told her what the last gal said . She said no you should never have done that it was bacteria and good. Again wait for a couple weeks try again. After 3 weeks again test water now it is good so i am excited to finally put fish in. I buy a couple snails and at the direction of the first young gal I pick out 6 Tetras and 3 glow fish. I notice some tanks were marked "under observation" So I ask why? She say's we just got a shipment in that have ICH . I say what is that she shows me a fish in an isolation tank covered in white spots and tells me about it and that it was being medicated. She bags my fish I take them home and after putting them in my aquarium. I notice 2 of the Tetras have a couple white spots.I wait for a couple days more spots show up. I end up talking to a gal on Facebook explaining it who said you need to treat them they have it. I drive to Ontario and find some treatment as Petsmart is 40 miles away. Treated them it has now been a week and a half and now they are all covered and expect to loose them all. As I read on different aquarium sites my aquarium is and will be contaminated with this ICH and it is a major operation to clear it up before I can start again. I have always bought my dog food from Petsmart but no more . You just lost a customer . Had you given me good direction and sold quality fish this would never have been an issue. I have taken my dog to this location for grooming for the past 3 months and absolutely LOVE Jamilee - she is fantastic! As soon as my dog sees her she immediately stops shaking and is at ease because Jamilee is so calm and loving. She is a great groomer and my little toy poodle always leaves looking like a show dog. I have shopped this store multiple time last and I have always been very impressed with the excellent service by the staff! I have two sons, one with a Mississippi map turtle and one with a bearded dragon. I took my Yorkie in for a haircut and the large lady told me she had to cut the hair off due to matting even though its almost winter. Then they found a flea on her so she needed a flea bath. The worst part though is this lady tried to charge me $7 for conditioner and when I asked why she says that flea shampoo was very drying and basically tried to guilt me into it. The conditioner comed with a bath anyways!!! Then after hassling for 15 mimutes she tells me my rabies are not up to date! She should've told me that before wasting my time! I don't know about the other people working there but this girl was very pushy and squeeze any money she can out of you. Be wary! read more

I took my labradoodle into the groomers and asked for a teddy bear cut. I know she had some matting but it wasn't terrible - it would've just taken some extra time with brushing. The groomer made the choice to shave her down to nothing instead of dealing with the matting. I couldn't believe my dog when I picked her up! My family and I didnt even recognize her. When we got homr we also realized she had random long hairs left on throughout her body, showing they didn't do a detailed job. Her ears weren't cleaned out for hair either. We are very disappointed and won't be taking her back. read more
