She trained here as a puppy and goes to daycare (or "school") a few times a week. I've boarded her here a couple times, too. I tried one of the newer places a couple times to see if my girl would like the pool or bigger yard...nope. She wants to come here and see Meredith and Kaley and all her doggo friends she's known since she was a pup. What a relief to have somewhere reliable, with people who care about you and your dog.

My new puppy, Shiner, was not interested in being the ideal dog. She was full of energy and had difficulty in paying attention. I tried everything I could possibly think of to help motivate her into a functioning member of my household. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with Meridith Caver of The Polished Pooch and knew she would be able to help. Meridith Caver is amazing. After the first session, Shiner was able to sit. Meridith is great at explaining what Shiner worked on during the day and what we should do at home to help further her training. We have learned how to make Shiner a part of the family, not the master of the house. We still have work to do, and we know Meridith will be there to help us alone the way. Shiner is a different dog since she started puppy school with Meridith. In the mornings when Shiner has puppy school/day camp, she is excited and knows where she is going. When she sees Meridith and Debra, she gets so excited to go and play. I feel very comfortable allowing my Shiner to go to puppy school/day camp w/ The Polished Pooch. The staff cares about your baby, just like you do!

One feature I especially appreciated was that they offer both indoor and outdoor play areas, which is very important to me given our hot summers and the fact that I have a brachycephalic dog. I highly recommend this daycare -- the entire staff was friendly, accommodating, and made me feel confident that they genuinely care about both the dogs and their owners. The Brown Dog Lodge - Germantown was a doggy blessing-an unplanned trip out of town! Aléjandro, my…read morehandsome 12.5 pound FurBaby, is an 18-month old Chihuahua. In the last 11 months I "discovered" he is smart, curious, but also stubborn! He is not particularly fond of other little dogs. On day 1 - I saw him nervously walking around until he bonded with another dog and they started to play! The indoor outdoor arrangement by size is just wonderful as I watched him play in & out side. I checked in with the FurBabySitters and they said he was nervous at first. I watched him for the rest of the day and saw him do his "prance walk" around the indoor perimeter and I knew he was home! The FurBabySitters are really dog folks!! They are invested and courteous and treat their FurBaby guests as their own. I was unable to see Aléjandro's room camera and due to my asthma I did not personally visit the area though I was offered the opportunity during intake. The cameras did not work consistently-at times I could see other areas, but not the little dogs'. At the end of his stay the FurBabySitters confirmed by phone the scheduled pickup date & time and when I wanted him bathed. Upon pickup he was happy and well taken care of. He had not been overfed and was surprisingly calm and jumped into his wheeled carrier only to snooze on the way home. My only concern is the lack of human folk overnight; though I was reassured they had a great camera system for employees. Staffing one person who would be allowed to sleep and be paid 1/2 (as they are sleeping) would cost a little, but not too much... The owner/operators might be as to who would actually l volunteer for the overnight shifts. Overall, this facility is a well thought out and executed. The extras far outweigh my concerns and included a stocked area of doggie supplies if owners forgot to bring something. The FurBabySitters are exceptional and seem to enjoy working with FurBabies!

Danny took a personal interest in my dog and really focused on helping him and me both. He really FOCUSED on MY DOG. He isn't at all concerned with trying to train too many pets at once or running as many dogs through his program as possible, and he never passed my dog's training over to another trainer. He's a compassionate trainer who understands the bonds as well as the behaviors to be addressed. What's even more amazing that all the wonderful things he did while my dog was in board and train with him is the amount of active support afterwards. He's made so many trips already to make sure that *I* am taught what to do and how to do it... and has made more plans as well. Danny is determined that Ramses and I are going to have a good life with clear boundaries and ingrained positive behaviors. He explains the concepts behind the techniques so that I can understand them. Also, the level of care that my boy got while with Danny and Erin was exceptional! Not once did I have the first fear that my baby wasn't being well treated.... which shows in how affectionate my dog is with them! I really can't say enough positive things at this point. Like I said, my life has changed, is changing, and he may very well have saved my dog's life. I am happy and comfortable with the balanced training approach. Not only that, but I feel that I've made a lifelong friend in the process. If you know anyone who has a difficult dog - or just a dog that needs some training - DEFINITELY call Danny Spooner at Ultra K-9.

She is a pit mix who had most likely been on her own most of her life and needed to become fiercely independent to care for herself and her pups (don't know what became of them). The first time I tried walking Hera on a leash she literally dragged me down the street on my abdomen. We hired a private trainer to help us teach her basic commands and to walk on a leash. Lots of money later, training was over but Hera remained less than a well-behaved dog. Thankfully, we ran in to a stranger at the dog park who recommended Dogwood. OMG, what a life save!!! After just 6 weeks of classes Hera is well behaved, listens, has wonderful manners and best yet, I can easily walk her on a slack leash!!! They have attentive trainers, small class sizes and are VERY reasonably priced (to name just a few attribute). Thank you Dogwood!!!!!

After 10 exhausting months of battling with my dog, Theo--who treated his kennel like a personal torture chamber and barked like he was auditioning for a siren competition--I was completely worn out. We're talking nonstop, ear-piercing, dramatic barking for hours. I'm pretty sure the neighbors considered moving. Then we met Rebecca. Within ONE WEEK of obedience training, Theo transformed. He now goes into his kennel willingly--yes, willingly--and actually sleeps in it like a peaceful little angel. I still catch myself staring in disbelief. I spent nearly a year trying every trick in the book, and Rebecca came in and solved it like she had a cheat code for dog behavior. Her training style is calm, clear, and somehow makes you feel like you can actually do this. She understands dogs in a way that's almost magical. Theo loves her, and honestly, so do I. If your pup is testing your sanity and your sleep schedule, stop what you're doing and call Rebecca. She is the real deal, and Paw Paw's Pets has been a total game-changer for us!
