We were able to manage him good while he was still small, but boy did Sniper grow quickly! He started pulling and jerking me on his leash so bad that it was actually knocking my spinal alignment out and causing me to have repeated visits to my chiropractor. Something had to change. Thank goodness we found Drew!! After a few discussions and a free consultation to make sure Sniper was a good fit for the program, we sent Sniper away for about a month-long board-and-train program for off-leash obedience. While I did pay Sniper a few visits because I missed him so bad, I had full trust in Drew and his methods. When Sniper came back home, we were absolutely amazed at his transformation! Whereas before we had a stubborn puppy that we couldn't get through to, Drew broke down all barriers of communication/understanding and Sniper was obeying all commands. What was really nice was that Drew also provides in-home follow-up sessions to ensure that the training authority transferred to us from him. This training was so essential for Sniper because we were living in a townhome that was close to two school campuses where I walked him in the mornings and at night. The principals and staff at both institutions fell in love with Sniper and gave permission to have him off-leash on their campuses because they saw how obedient he was. This made our lives so much easier - Sniper got to practice his training in real situations every day for his exercise sessions and I wasn't having to visit my chiropractor every few days! Two years ago, I was surprised with a Bloodhound puppy for Christmas. While Bleu was a tiny puppy at 8 weeks of age, he grew very fast. We knew that Bleu was going to need the same training as Sniper, and need it even more - we now live in a home surrounded by forested land, and we all know how Bloodhounds love to follow their noses. During the 4-year period from when we had Sniper trained, Drew relocated from North Carolina to Tennessee. That did not stop us from entrusting Drew with the training of our sweet Bleu. Yes, it was a 12+ hour one-way trip to drop Bleu off and then again to pick him back up ... but it was so worth that investment of time. We knew that Drew would take the best care of Bleu and that when he came back home that he would be transformed into an obedient puppy. Both boys are both off-leash at home, but they are on-leash when I take them into town for walks. While Sniper has topped out at about 80 pounds, Bleu is now at 120 pounds ... and still has about half a year to keep growing. I cannot imagine the difficulties we would have managing them and their behavior now if we had not invested in Drew's training. Whenever encountering new people on their adventures, everyone is amazed at their good manners and obedience. I cannot say enough good things about Drew and his ability to break through barriers with dogs. He worked miracles on our two boys! I still refer folks near and far to him for getting their dogs trained. Not only will it change the behavior of your dog, it will truly change your life - lessening worries and frustrations. Danny took a personal interest in my dog and really focused on helping him and me both. He really FOCUSED on MY DOG. He isn't at all concerned with trying to train too many pets at once or running as many dogs through his program as possible, and he never passed my dog's training over to another trainer. He's a compassionate trainer who understands the bonds as well as the behaviors to be addressed. What's even more amazing that all the wonderful things he did while my dog was in board and train with him is the amount of active support afterwards. He's made so many trips already to make sure that *I* am taught what to do and how to do it... and has made more plans as well. Danny is determined that Ramses and I are going to have a good life with clear boundaries and ingrained positive behaviors. He explains the concepts behind the techniques so that I can understand them. Also, the level of care that my boy got while with Danny and Erin was exceptional! I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Meredith and had really high hopes - she just said all of the right things about how she works with dogs, really listened to my description of what I was struggling with and honestly just made me feel like she was going to be able to help. And she has done wonders for both Cam and I! While he was in puppy school (or the adolescent dog school in his case!), she was so great each day about explaining what they worked on, what was easy for him and what I needed to keep doing with him at home. Having the homework was great - it let me practice and kept reinforcing what she had taught him! He "graduated" from school within a month or so but we have continued going to daycare at both the Germantown and Collierville locations.
