Great selection of items for a variety of pets. As far as animals for purchase they have cats available for adoption, fish, birds, snakes, lizards, geckos, and spiders. I recently got started with fish in an aquarium, and bought all of my supplies here. The staff could probably be a bit more enthusiastic at times, but they seemed to know what they were talking about at least. One thing I thought was cool is their obedience courses for dogs. They have this glassed-in area where you can watch the trainers work with the pets. I would recommend this store for most any pet needs. read more

I stopped at the store to get one bag of dog food. I made a mad dash A across town to get there that took 20 minutes. I got there at 8:55 and the store closes at nine. There was an employee outside getting cards and said they were closed Because no one had been shopping there for the last half hour and I saw someone coming out of the door with their purchase and heading for their car, it would have taken me two minutes to purchase a bag of dog food and I spent 40 minutes driving there and back because they wanted to close the registers early. I would not recommend shopping at this store. As they are more interested in getting out early than taking care of customers. read more

My dog needs her nails clipped, a 10 minute job at the most. On the website it states that appointments are encouraged for grooming, but not a rule. The last two times I came in without a appointment the staff was rude- unbelievable because there was two people working one sitting on her duff and there was one dog getting groomed! Today stopped in - same situation one dog and two staff. They refused to clip her nails because I didn't have a appointment. I mentioned that there was only one dog being groomed- I don't consider a dog getting her nails clipped hardly a grooming appointment! Go to Petco on 47th and O ST. Professional staff and they did a much better job. I am done with the rude lazy staff. read more

Terrible service and ridiculously expensive. The girls need way more training on grooming. My dog had one side of her face longer and fuller than the other, they just brushed out her tail and her nails were still long. Had to come home and finish the groom myself. I will never take my dog or any other dog there again. Shaina sounded confident and professional on the phone but was a true disappointment all the way around. I've paid a lot less money for grooming to way more talented groomers. Don't waste your money. read more

Absolutely done going here. When I first got my dog and he started needing grooming we decided to bring him here the first few times he always looked great and exactly how I asked them to cut his hair and he was excited and willing to go back with the groomer. The last 2 times I've taken him here to get groomed the groomer (Anna) was 30 minutes to an hour late to his appointment and he was scared to go back with her the second time. I decided to give this place one more chance and booked an appointment for today but with a different girl (Paige), I told her exactly how to cut his hair even showed her where to shave to on his tail and told her to not really touch his ears. I come back to pick him up and all the fluff that's supposed to be on his tail is gone except for a tiny little bit at the end of his tail (he supposed to have longer hair on his tail) and she completely took all of his fluff off his ears (he's supposed to have longer hair on his ears). What is the point in asking me what I want done if the staff can not do what they are told? Anyways I will absolutely never be getting my dog groomed here again read more

Yay, I love to shop with my dog! This store is always very clean, very pet friendly and a fun a/c place to visit to cool off after trips to the park and the such. They offer classes for your pooch as well as grooming. They also have fresh water available in the back by the bathrooms for your pet. The prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection of just about everything...even rabbit toys! This place is "Lilly Dog Approved" and a favorite place to shop with the family for our pets. read more

I have taken my dog here twice now to get groomed. The first time she didn't even look like she had a haircut. I asked them to cut her shorter while I shopped, so they did but it still was not short enough. The second time I didn't even get a call saying she was done. 4 hours had just passed so I was wondering what was going on. When I showed up they had already left. I was able to get her from one of the cashiers. She also looks all choppy this time. Would not recommend grooming services at this location AT ALL. read more

Don't take any of their advice on taking care of animals. They are a typical big box petstore that gives bad advice.

Their grooming services have been awesome. My dog is always clean and fluffy and happy when they're done. The training classes are a good start, but having them in the store can be a negative as the atmosphere is so distracting. I will likely follow up somewhere else to continue training for my dog. read more

Never again! Had an appointment over the phone, explained that I was from out of town. No problem, I wad told, after I arrived however, I was turned away, because I didn't have the current rabies shots information for my dog. I didn't know I needed this paperwork. After the initial phone consultation, I feel this should havr been addressed. Big waste of time. read more

I'm only talking about the Grooming. They may do a good job but they don't give me a chance to find out. "I'll be right with you" is all they need to say. When I've gone in to set up an appointment and get prices, etc, I end up just standing there like a dope. They can see me and sometimes they are helping another person but all it takes is a little acknowledgement that I'm standing there waiting. I've gone in and attempted to give them my money but I wait quietly for about 5 minutes (which is a lot when they can see me waiting). I suppose they have enough business that they don't need mine. read more

As a rule of thumb, don't trust big pet stores to give reliable advice on small animals. Really, they should only focus on dogs and cats. Do your own research. I really only go here when I need superworms or reptile supplies urgently (they're constantly out, but I order live insects online frequently and understand it's a difficult process). Went here a couple weeks ago with a friend who was stocking a freshwater tank and had the employee grill him on his tank size, refusing certain fish that me and him both know would have been beyond fine. Meanwhile, a mother and her under 5 year old child asked for a ton of GloFish and she didn't ask them a single question, got them and checked out without any inquiring. Doesn't seem fair. I'm genuinely not trying to sound like a d*ck, but I'm almost certain the mother just wanted fish to make her kid happy, with 0 regard or knowledge to their care (Asked a question like, "If we go out of town for two weeks they'll be fine, right? They're just fish?"). If we're going to get interrogated over two plecos, they should too. read more

I got a puppy back in December and was excited to take my new pet to Petsmart to shop and to use their grooming services. My puppy is a Morkie, Yorkie/Maltese mix, so she is pretty sassy, but a huge sweetheart. I questioned that when I took her to Petsmart though. They suggested getting her a puppy trim a few times, which includes a bath, scissor cut around face, feet, and sanitary area, and nail trim. I was all for it. We did that, but she was nearing 6 months old, her hair was so long and she really needed a full hair cut. They suggested a hair cut with clippers, they do not offer full scissor cuts. I made an appointment with Melissa for a full clipper hair cut. An hour after I dropped her off, the groomer called and said she was halfway done, but could not finish because my puppy was biting her. Now, of course I don't want my puppy to harm anyone, but I also know her bites were not life threatening and she would stop if told no. She was still learning not to bite considering that she was a puppy. The groomer made it seem like she was acting like an awful dog so I did not argue with her, I simply drove over to pick up my puppy. I arrived and immediately noticed the groomer's anger while my puppy was on the table in front of her. She told me she wanted to try and even it out so it didn't look as bad. I apologized and told her she didn't have to and that I could just take her. She insisted so I perused the store. I walked back in since I could see the groomer obviously pissed off at my dog and I did not feel comfortable about it. The manager of the grooming salon was very sweet and was trying make sure I felt okay about their decision. The groomer, however, stood there with her arms crossed and her face showed anger as she made snappy comments about my dog. She asked why I looked upset and I said that her apparent anger was making me upset. Her response, "It's been a long day." I understand people have bad days, but I or my dog should not be treated badly because of it. I was charged for a full hair cut, even though it was not finished and they did not even do the grooming they do for a puppy trim. The manager was nice and took $8 off I guess. I got my receipt and went to the register. Between that moment and leaving the store, three employees approached us to say hi to my puppy. They then made comments such as these: "Oh I hear you're pretty naughty," "I heard she is pretty ferocious and mean," among others. By the time I got to my car, I just wanted to cry. I knew my puppy wasn't mean, she is still learning and needs understanding and discipline. Since then, I've been trying to find a new groomer and I ended up taking her to one while we were out of town. I picked her up and was nervous to hear how she was during the haircut.
