I went in for a tour and information and I wish I didn't. all they did was trash other dog boarding companies. Covid has been long over, yet they used that as an excuse to NOT let me see the kennel my dog would be sleeping in and or play area. I was told to look online f I wanted to see it. When it comes to my lovin pet I would want to see with my own eyes. From the start the staff was a extremely rude. if they treated me that way I would hate to see how they would treat my defenseless dog. Camp Bow Bow is not what they are advertising. We took our dog there for boarding because they advertise ALL DAY PLAY. We have a bigger dog with a lot of energy and he needs the stimulation through out the day and can not be cooped up in a kennel all day. Thursday and Friday went well because they have doggy daycare so they were out all day playing, which is what we expected. Saturday and Sunday was a different story. I checked the cameras on Saturday at 7:30AM out of curiosity what he was up to and noticed that the dogs were not outside, an hour later still not outside, finally outside at around 9:00. They were outside for about 2 hours. My husband called to find out if something was wrong and Tom, the owner, immediately got defensive and got an attitude with him and said it has been like this for 17 years and they had been out and would go back out at 6AM the next day for 5.5 hours. 2 hours is not enough for my dog let alone the fact that he would sit in a kennel from 10:45AM until 6AM the next day. I was appalled but we were out of town so nothing we could do but wait until the next day to pick him up. I checked the cameras at 6:30AM on Sunday morning when Tom said they would be outside and there was no dogs. The cameras are date and time stamped. Finally I see them outside around 9:30, they were put back in their kennels around 10:30. They were only out playing for an hour on Sunday. When we got to the kennel to pick him up I asked Tom how long were the dogs outside yesterday and today and he again immediately got defensive and started yelling at me that he talked to me and my husband yesterday and this has been like this for 17 years and they were outside the whole time but the cameras weren't on. For one, they advertise cameras so if they aren't on then that is false advertising and two they were too on because they are all date and time stamped and I checked all morning on Sunday because I wanted to know. He then explained bloat to me and that the dogs have to be kenneled after eating for an hour and a half, that should not count as part of their play time if they are kenneled. After we told him we would be posting this on social media, because we were getting no where with him because he couldn't have a conversation with us and was just yelling, he told us we were never allowed back and that he was going to call the cops on us. He stood up and was yelling at me and my husband (I am a 5 foot tall pregnant woman), I was calmly trying to have a conversation with him. This is clearly not the first time he has had someone upset about not getting all day play because he was prepared for it. My biggest complaint and concern is that they are advertising things they are not providing. I would never leave my dog some where he was going to be kenneled 20+ hours out of a day. That is cruel even for a dog that doesn't have the energy level that I know my dog does. As an owner he was also the most unprofessional service provider I have encountered. If you expect ALL DAY PLAY choose another kennel. All day play to me is him going out in the morning and going back in a kennel in the evening hours. read more

I walked into inquire about the place and potential boarding. Front desk rep was on the phone. Very loud n abrasive. Reading clients CC number out loud as she keyed in as I waited two staff came up from the back she ordered the first girl to go do something and smarted off to me to wait she'll deal w me. Barked at the second girl too. Awkward n uncomfortable. A guy walks in behind me and as this lady gets off the phone she addresses him first and makes some comment that she needs to talk to him and he says the same thing well I need to talk to you implying there was some drama there then she rudely turns to me and gives me that look like "what do you want" and before I could ask a question she said what kind of dog do you have an I said a boxer beagle and possibly some pit or hound in him but he's not a pitbull and she said no we don't take those they're liability and I said well he's not at all a pitbull and she goes I don't have insurance-nope. I walked out. What a NASTY human on every level and that poor staff. Woof. Got in my truck and called Kenl Inn they could not have been more kind professional courteous and helpful. read more

I called this morning to get some information since because of Covid-19 they are not offering tours. I asked about the size of the space the dogs are in and was told that I could go online and see on their webcams - which of course I did before I called, but it is difficult to tell how big the space is, and it seems like there are a lot of dogs crammed into a small space. I asked Colleen about how many dogs were typically grouped together with a staff person and was rudely told that I was asking a lot of questions about "proprietary information" and that the information could be found on their website. I again mentioned that I had been on their website and did not see any information and in fact checked again after getting off the phone and did not see any information about a staff to dog ratio. I was again informed that it was proprietary information and that she would not answer my question. I can't accurately express in writing how rude she was and how icky the call made me feel about potentially leaving my dog there. Here's the thing...we are in the middle of a pandemic and as a business you are asking new customers to drop off a valued family member at your facility, sight unseen. A valued family member that cannot speak to share their experience at said facility. And you can't even politely answer a few questions about what my dog's experience will be like if we choose to entrust you with his care? After being so completely unpleasant to me on the phone, you want me to drop off my unsuspecting dog to spend the day with you and pay you for it??? Appalling. No thanks. read more

Our dogs love this place!!! I love that they "interview" the dog for a couple of hours to see if the dog is a good and friendly candidate with other dogs. I love that they are not stuck in a kennel all day. One of our dogs has medical issues and needs special medicine and they are happy to comply with this regimen. Tom and Colleen, the owners, have become like family and love our dogs and care for them like we do. We love the fact that we can "check in" with our dogs while we are traveling via their app video cams. The dogs are exhausted when they come home as they have played a lot with their friends. My dogs have been behaving better with other dogs due to the increased amount of time spent socializing.Going to day care over the weekend when we go on day trips helps them get accustomed to boarding routine when we travel.Better service for the same price as other day care and boarding.Staff friendly and accommodating.We love checking in on them via webcam. read more

The interview and "on boarding" process can seem daunting and frustrating but it is well worth it. Our 2 year old golden LOVES coming here to play for daycare and he doesn't protest overnight stays either. One huge turnoff to other boarding facilities is that they basically keep your loved family member in a cage all day and walk them two or three times, feed them, that's it. Camp bow wow lets your pooch play with other dogs ALL DAY except right after meals (smart-no stomach turning) and during nighttime, which makes sense. After playing as much as he does, our puppy doesn't mind sleeping in the kennels at night. The best feature is the puppy cams! You can make sure the staff aren't doing anything questionable (never an issue) and just check in to watch your dog play. They also have an app for the cameras. Blake gets a huge shoutout for always being friendly, knowing my dogs name, remembering me, being super into the crazy requests that overprotective dog owners have and just all around awesome and genuine. We love Camp Bow Wow! It's great to see our pup on webcam during the day and know that he is having a blast. He comes home happy and tired every time. Also great for boarding. There's shorter play time on the weekend, but he still gets more exercise than he would at other places. All the staff members I met are very friendly, kind and attentive. We have used several Camp Bow Wow locations and really like them. The playtime is well supervised and our dogs have always had fun. Even though our golden could get a little bit feisty with certain breeds she did very well in this controlled environment. Unlike other doggie day cares in the city, one reasonable price includes all daily services like playtime, administering meds, and anything else to make your pet comfortable. I can't say enough good things about the care Henry has received at Camp Bow Wow. He's always thrilled to arrive and happy (and tired) when he comes home. Henry is an older dog, and the staff attend to his special needs, letting me know when they notice changes in his condition. When Henry developed high blood pressure, the Camp Bow Wow folks were the first to notice he needed medical attention and called me immediately. They must be petting him frequently, because they've discovered lumps and bumps and belly issues--again, telling me right away. And they're just great folks, always extending a warm greeting when I arrive at the end of a long day at work. I've referred two friends to Camp Bow Wow without hesitation. Henry will go to Camp Bow Wow for as long as he's able. read more

This review is based on the customer service I received when I called to inquire about camp for my two dogs. I asked what the procedure was for having my dogs enrolled into the camp and whether I was to bring them in and go from there, she scoffed at me like I was an idiot and was like "no thats not how we do things"...umm duh thats why I am asking you WHAT YOUR PROCEDURES ARE and whether or not I had to bring them in ahead of time for an interview. The woman who answered the phone stated she was busy and that she would call me back, asked for my number, and when I gave my area code she asked about why it wasnt local. I stated that I was originally from California and I lived in the Bellevue area, but informed her that I commuted to Lincoln everyday for work. She simply said, "Oh I have questions for you", repeated that she would call back and then hung up without so much as giving me an estimated time. An hour later, I called again, again, she answered stating that she said she would call back after hours...that would have been nice to know in the beginning. Received a call another hour later and she stated there was a hold on receiving dogs due to a puppy flu? Since I was from the Bellevue area she was not going to accept my dogs since I was not from the Lincoln area. I asked when this "Puppy flu" started she stated it has been in effect for the past six months and to check back after summer.... First off I understand, yes to protect the dogs you do have in your establishment you would be hesitant, but wouldn't you ask the dogs you to receive to be VACCINATED and UP TO DATE ON THE SHOTS? She didn't even ask that. Our conversation lasted FIVE MINUTES.....I WAITED TWO HOURS for her basically to tell me NO....Could she not have simply said IN THE BEGINNING " I am sorry we are not accepting dogs outside our general city" That would have been WAY more courteous and PROFESSIONAL rather than having me wait and be rude and belittling. I was looking to put my dogs into an establishment that would take care of them and I wouldn't have to worry about said puppy flu...shes right, if there is puppy flu going around in Lincoln, then I DEFINITELY do not want my dogs to get it. read more

We love this place to take our dogs for day camp to run off some energy. We love that we can watch them playing on their webcams as well. We have used them for boarding and had a pleasant experience as well. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they are pretty pricey. read more

I boarded my 3 yr old doodle at Camp Bow Wow for nine days from 4/27 until 5/6/19. My dog contracted canine pneumonia from Camp Bow Wow. My dog has never been sick before. My dog was treated by the vet. I contacted the owner, Tom, who told me my dog was the only sick dog. I then found out from Ehlers Animal Care that two of their employees dogs had gotten kennel cough from Camp Bow Wow and that Camp Bow Wow had put up a sign saying they had an outbreak. I asked Tom to pay my vet bills which totaled $360 which included x rays and blood work. He refused, blamed me for my dog being so ill and continued to yell and talk over me. I did tell him I would leave bad reviews on social media and he threatened me with his lawyer. Dog owners please be aware that I dropped off a healthy happy doodle and was given back a seriously ill dog. Tom told me to never bring my dog back again. Duh, I never will. I would suggest that Tom and his partner take some classes on costumer service practices because they are sorely lacking these skills. read more

Our 2 dogs LOVE to go to Camp Bow Wow in Lincoln whenever we go out of town. Before they started going to Camp, if the dogs sensed we were getting ready for a trip, they would sit in our suitcases, sulk around the house, etc. Now they sit by the door waiting to get in the car to go to Camp. There are pretty strict rules about vaccinations and behavior issues at this facility, but I appreciate that - knowing that my dogs will be protected from sicknesses or aggressive dogs. I have taken them to another "kennel" where that's exactly what it was. My dogs were put in a kennel, and I'm pretty sure that's where they stayed the whole time. They came home sad and skinny because they wouldn't eat while there. At Camp Bow Wow, they play with other dogs, get baths, get their nails trimmed, eat all their food and come home happy. That's worth any price to me!! The facility is clean, the workers are engaged, and I appreciate that they go to great lengths to keep my dogs safe and happy. read more

I have been taking my boxer Jo Jo to Camp Bow Wow for about 2 years and I can only speak of my experiences. There staff is very well trained and all very professional and caring. The facilities is top notch and clean and organized. Our experience on Wednesday, July 8 at Camp Bow Wow was insulting. We stopped in with our Lab to learn more about vacation boarding and were asked to leave the front lobby even though our dog was quiet and well-behaved on leash and we had brought documents as proof that she'd had ALL of her vaccinations. The desk attendant continued to be confrontational and argumentative with my husband after the dog and I had gone outside to wait. We saw absolutely nothing welcoming about this place and will not become customers. read more
