I've had poor experiences with this store. First was trying to buy a gift certificate for grooming. Staff were confused about specials and how the certificate would be issued Second: I stopped in to schedule a grooming. The salon was empty and I waited 10 minutes to get service. Third: I called to schedule a grooming and was put on hold for 5 minutes Fourth: Their business card indicates they have services that do not require an appointment. I had taken the dog to a park and decided to stop and get her nails clipped. Sorry was the answer. I can schedule you for later today or tomorrow. I will try another location in Lincoln. read more

We have a black and white Border Collie that sheds like fur storm sometimes. I can bathe and brush her myself and use a furminator brush but I never can do it as well as a groomer. I am always a bit nervous about taking her to a groomer I do not have any experience with. Fiona was really acting more afraid than usual when I dropped her off early in the morning on Dec. 29th. Diana gave her a good check over and her confidence helped allay my concerns. Two hours later I picked up Fiona and she was excellently groomed and as shed free as I have ever seen her. Oh my gracious - we took our basset hounds to petsmart grooming last night to get their nails done and had the best experience! Our almost 15 year old basset is hard of hearing and starting to have some vision and mobility issues. Jessica was so great with him, she gave him lots of extra cuddles, some time brushing and talked to him the whole time. So comforting and fabulous- great job!!!! read more

I have been regularly taking my German shorthaired pointer (and my wire fox terrier, until she recently passed away) to Doggie Day Camp and the PetsHotel at this location since I moved to Lincoln 2 years ago. The staff are all wonderful and seem to truly enjoy working here and caring for the dogs. They offer a valet drop-off service in the morning which makes the commute go much faster. Judging by how tired my high-energy pointer is when I bring her home in the evening I know she's getting lots of play time. I would never hesitate to trust the staff at PetSmart with the care of my best friend. read more

I was in to find a dog neck cone when I found myself at the back of the store at the, "pets hotel". The dogs seemed to be in some type of play room where you can view through glass. There were two female employees, neither saw me. There was one in the room, and one just outside a door leading to the play area. As the other was coming into the play area she immediately sprayed all the dogs in the area with water for no reason. These dogs were not aggressive or being anything over playful. She continued to spray the dogs for awhile then blatantly left the room without doing a thing while in there. The employee who witnessed this then saw me and was making very awkward eye contact. I am a dog lover and it absolutely broke my heart to see such animals be treated with such disrespect and disregard. Will never be shopping here again. And truly disgusted. read more

My favorite pet store ever in any city around the USA. Customer Service here sets the standard for any and all other stores. Employees know my dog by name and are always smiling. It's the happiest place in town for sure. Great dog food selection. Awesome clothes and toys too. The doggie daycare area is great and gives pups a place to play away from the elements. They even have cats for adoption from the local shelters. We come in to go for walks, say hi to the nice people and buy lots of awesome stuff all the time. Thanks guys! read more

I had been to the other Petsmart in Lincoln before for a Spa day for my Jack Russell Lilly after her "brother" passed away, unfortunately she is no longer with us. So with our fur baby Zoey it was time for a haircut and I just happened to get a coupon in my email. I had set the appointment and accidentally showed up 24 hours early. We all had a good laugh. So I figured since this was her first time and they needed her records we can get that squared away since we were there. I got to me Tim who was the one to cut Zoey's hair the next day. I was very worried with all the media news about animals dying at these places but he honestly put my mind at ease. I could tell that he really loves animals and does his job well. Well the next day my husband and I brought Zoey in. Tim was very helpful with helping us decide how to cut her hair as she is a Yorkshire Terrier teacup size. He did such an excellent job, I will for sure be coming back and requesting him for her next haircut. Also found out she still has enough on the top for cute bow clips ha ha read more

I took my dog to the groomer at petsmart on Pine Lake rd. and they cut all the hair off his rear and then when he wouldn't hold still for them to shave him evenly they called me to come and get him because he wouldn't hold still. The couldn't bathe him until he was all combed out, so I had to bring him home still dirty with nothing on his rear but little clumps of hair here and there. The groomer was rude and snippy and incompetent. I only took him to petsmart because my regular groomer was busy and I couldn't get him in till the following week. I had a pretty bad experience when attempting to make a daycare appointment for my puppy. She is an import and had her vaccines before she came home. The first man I spoke with told me that I needed to take her record to a vet and have them write a note stating that the vaccines were equivalent. (This man was actually very nice, but I did have to spend quite some time on this phone call.) While this was irritating because they are good enough for the various European governments, good enough for the airlines, and good enough for the CDC, but were apparently not good enough for Petsmart, it wasn't the end of the world. He stated I could take the record into their associated vet for this. I told him I live out of town, so that would not be possible, but I could take it to my vet. As it turned out I was in another town that had a Petsmart 2 nights before, so I attempted to take the shot record into that vet and have them do it so that I wouldn't have to bother my vet (who is pretty busy). They didn't have the slightest clue what I was asking for, and wanted me to come back the next day (which I of course couldn't do since I don't live in that town either). The following day, I received a call from someone in the store who left a message stating that they needed the vaccines done at least 48 hours before the appointment, so she wanted to make sure they had been done the day before????? Since I had a long conversation with the gentleman the day prior when I made the appointment and he had stated that he left a note about all of this, I wasn't sure why I was getting this phone call. I returned the call, and no one in the store had any idea who had called me or why. After telling the entire story to one girl, she promptly sent the call to someone else (without even telling me she was going to) without giving her any idea why I was calling. So I spent another 5 minutes explaining it to her. By this point, I was getting pretty irritated with explaining the situation over and over again to every employee in the store. This girl told me she needed to call my vet (apparently they weren't in their system - not surprising since they are in my town, AND, as I told her, she had the name wrong), that the note wasn't good enough either, despite the fact that I had been told the day before it was. After a little while I went in to my vet to pick up the note. As soon as I walked in the door, the teenage girl that works the front desk said "have I got a story for you." Apparently, the girl from Petsmart called my vet and was acting snippy with the young girl at my vet!! She was insisting that the dates weren't correct since the vaccines expire in different amounts of time???? (Since this is a puppy, all of the vaccines were given at once and only 3 months prior to this, so none were expired.) By this point, I was so upset that I decided that I wasn't taking my dog there at all. I have since learned that this store has made some gigantic errors, such as checking out the wrong dog to a client, not putting dogs in group play-times but telling the owners that they were, putting dogs in the wrong play-times with incompatible dogs (that they knew about) that have resulted in dog fights, refusing to promptly break up dog fights, etc. I'm just glad I didn't trust them with my puppy. read more

My review is about the Pets Hotel. I have a puppy that I don't like to leave home alone for long periods of time so I have been searching for a place to take him while I run errands. I decided to try the Pets Hotel when I found a coupon for a free first visit. I am very impressed with this place. The staff is always extremely friendly and seem genuinely happy to see my dog. The prices here are very good, especially in comparison to other places in the area. I also get coupons in the mail and email every now and then that help me save anymore. I will keep bringing my dog here as long as I am in the area. read more
