This review is strictly for Banfield. The assistants working always tells me different things. I called to ask questions about flea control for cats and the assistant told me no appointment, just come in, they'll weigh the cat and give her meds. OK, no problem. I come in and they tell me no such thing as coming to pick up meds, doctor has to prescribe. That wouldn't be a problem unless you told me beforehand. There is always just ONE girl working the front desk. If you have a line of 7 people, you need to be more staffed. Wait time to speak to someone is atleast a 30 minute wait. The whole "you're not under the account, therefore, you cannot be authorized" thing is a hassle. I understand the whole theft of a pet thing, but even if I wanted to make my own account so that I can put whoever's name to pick up my pet, they wouldn't even do that to me. I HAD to be under my mother's account. Why?! I usually attend the Katy location, but since moving to this area, the Eldridge location is more convenient. They just need to be more staffed so that they'll pick up their phones (i called a few times and waited 30 min just to speak to someone) and they can attend to their clients in timely manner. read more

Pets Hotel Review Only. I can tell they treated them well. My dogs boarded for 3 days, day camp is not included, we paid extra for day camp. They came home and behaved like they always do. I have no complaints other than the price is a little high. read more

This is a petshotel/ dog training review. I consistently take my dogs for day camp and they have a blast. Most of the attendants are really great and know both my dogs by name. I always feel very confident leaving them there to play for the day, especially if I have an event after work. The 7am-9pm hours are great specially useful for me. In terms of training, I had both my dogs go through the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes with Sue, the trainer in this location and I absolutely loved it. She is completely devoted to helping you train your dog and you really see results if you work at it. She still says hello every time she sees us around the store, and will happily give advice/suggestions if we have any questions on behavior, even after having graduated her classes. Great place if you want to create a stronger bond with your pup. read more

I've been using this store regularly for years, and overall it's pretty good. Sometimes the cat grass you sell at the registers is already turning brown, or you're out altogether. I miss the older cashier with the prosthetic arm, but I understand he retired. He was always very friendly and attentive. The cashier I had today, number 640028 on my receipt, was chatting with another employee throughout my transaction. I hope that doesn't become the norm. read more

SCARRED FOR LIFE -- DO NOT GO HERE. Worst and most traumatic grooming in my dog's life! My little angel came out of the groomers shaking and bleeding from her nails! The lady groomer was totally incompetent and unfit for the job. When we arrived for my puppy's appointment, I bought the biggest package offered ($80), and the petsmart groomer acted like she was taking notes. However, I found out afterwards that she didn't listen at all! Calling my dog a boy while wrapping a bandana around HER neck. They trimmed all of her eyelashes off giving her a boy cut! My dog's named Winnie and she's a delicate sweet girl with a pink flowery collar & leash. I definitely told the groomer that she's a girl! Plus you'd think they'd be intelligent enough to know the difference between boy or girl based on their sexual organs, right? They are groomers, they gave my dog a bath, shouldn't it be obvious what gender my dog is? I also told the groomer to avoid trimming her nails because they were recently trimmed, and she comes out bleeding from her nails! UNACCEPTABLE. I can tell they were rough with her by the way she was shaking and twitching after her appointment. I will never go to a petsmart groomer again. They should be shut down for the torture they put my little angel through!! read more

I give this place 1 star ! It is the bad service ! I bring my dog go to overthere 3 times already . But they dont wanna take him for get hair cut because his hair get tangle , they told me it take couple hours for take it out , they dont have time for do that . They just want trim his hair really shortt short for fast ! We took our dog to get her nails trimmed today at the Petsmart on Eldridge. Our dog was afraid and didn't want to go inside. The groomers pulled her in with the leash. To begin with they should've tried to pet her and talk to her to put her at ease. She's a very sweet dog. Instead of trying to put her at ease they just kept pulling on her and the more they pulled the more she froze and wouldn't budge. Another groomer got three more leashes around your neck while they tried trimming her nails. They were pulling in opposite directions and this only frightened our dog more. They pulled so hard that her eyes were turning red. We then told them to stop and we left. They were completely incapable of this task- their job. Furthermore they were cruel the way they were pulling on our dog. We will never return to this store again. read more

This PetSmart is very close to me and is my go-to stop for anything pet related. It's surrounded by other stores that I frequent to often, so this location really is a convenience for me. The store itself is always clean, and the aisles are very organized, making it very easy to find whatever your pet needs. I don't go here for their services like grooming, so I come here soley for the products. PetSmart boasts a wide variety of pet food, accessories, toys, and other household products that range from more affordable to higher quality brands. You are sure to find what you are looking for, or at least something very similar to it. The staff behind the cash registers are always pleasant and very friendly. They seem to truly be interested in your pets and easily strike up a nice conversation. The only thing about them compared to other retail stores is that they tend to be a little slower at checking customers out. It's great that they are extremely friendly, but for those who are in a rush, it might be a bit of a nuisance. The employees on the floor usually are very helpful. You are greeted at the door and are asked if you need any assistance with anything. The ones in the aisles are for the most part pretty attentive and knowledgeable on the products. There are a few however that seem to just be walking around or talking with another employee. This PetSmart is great, and without grading the grooming, pet training, and other services, it deserves a solid 4 stars. It is a very convenient location with a wide variety of products, clean and organized aisles, and very friendly staff. read more

Took my schnauzer here and his hair cut seemed fine. But when I took my poodle the woman cutting his hair seemed agitated and annoyed with her job. And when I brought him home found 4 cuts on his neck. Don't know if it's from the leash being too tight, or the lady being care less. But I will never take him there again. read more

omg they suck. I wanted my puppy checked and picked up by grooming. I had to call each department separate to get them to work this out. I was told end the end that the grooming department would pick Nelson up and I will check him out at 7:30. I get a call at 7 from banfield saying Nelson was not picked up. Call grooming and they say I didn't fill the paper work out. If I was told that I would have done it. This is crazy. I pass a petsmart and two PETCO s to get here. My loyalty was high now its over. Forget what I said they are amazing. Well Chelsea and the manager of banfield. Once I got there Erica on of the manager was very rude but once I talked to Chelsea in grooming she took my baby and cleaned him up on the house. He looks amazing and I thank Chelsea for all her hard work. Way to go team!!! read more

The store itself is fine. KAY the trainer, however, is fantastic. My husband and I trained our puggle since he was a puppy. We trained him a lot of the basics (sit, stay, lie down, go to your bed, shake, turn around, and a few "tricks") but I wanted to sign him up for the "intermediate" training. I went with Jules to the petsmart at dunvale/westheimer and the petsmart at bunker hill and looked at their calendars for classes to figure out which location would offer classes at the most convenient times. I lingered for awhile at each booth to see if there was someone I could ask questions. No one ever asked me if I needed help, had questions, etc. When I did the same at this location, Kay greeted us both. She smiled, she talked to Jules and pet him--and he ate it all up. He loved her. Unfortunately, Kay taught classes on a night that was inconvenient for me, so we signed up with another girl (I've forgotten her name now...it was almost two years ago now). The start date of the class was pushed back several weeks because she was having some kind of surgery. You can't always predict something like that so we were understanding. We went to the first class and there was very little turnout. Then we showed up to the second class to find it had been cancelled. The third class had a much better turnout but the instructor acted as if it were the very first class. We didn't like her way with people or with dogs. Frankly she was annoying, and we didn't feel like we learned much. We immediately contacted Kay and switched into her class. Unfortunately, it was not at a convenient time for me, so my husband had to take Jules. But Jules learned quickly and immediately fell in love with Kay... in fact, my husband suggested that he thought sometimes Jules would actually behave better in class than at home almost like he wanted to "Impress" Kay. He passed his test at the end of the course with flying colors (and it was hard! He had to walk down an aisle at Petsmart OFF LEASH to my husband PAST toys and treats scattered through it after being told to "leave it"). Now, any time I am at Pet Smart and Kay is there, she sees and recognizes Jules immediately. He gets so excited and almost goes bezerk...he starts whimpering and squealing with excitement! He will see the "classroom" area and start pawing at the door because he thinks she has to always be there. Since then, we have paid for a private one-hour session to work on his barking at our neighbors when they are in the apartment courtyard, and it has been going well. We love her straightforward approach and suggested techniques. We like the way she communicates with us, and most importantly we love that our dog loves her and that she treats him well. That is by far the most important thing to me. read more

GROOMING- my pup has a terrible time getting his nails clipped. I had his vets cut them and they told me they had to back him into the corner to get them all trimmed. I didnt like that at all, and because they were just trying to get it done, my dogs nails still looked long, but chopped. I took him here and they did a fantastic job! His quicks were long but they were able to trim and grind his nails. It took two of them, but my dog was pretty calm and I was able to watch the whole time. I have taken him back twice since and his quicks are starting to recede! Couldnt be happier. Thanks! read more

Customer service AND STOMACH BUG! Let me explain... Do not take your dog to groom here. I would truly hate to think there's dogs going into grooming who would go through what my dog is going through. Not only did they try to hold her down and file down her nails while I was at the register (an hour after they had called and said she was ready) but when I called the manager, Brad, he was rude and unapologetic even though he watched the entire situation happen. It was because she was "being squirmish" and they didn't do it before, yet they watch me pay for the service they never completed. Customer service offered me an ultimatum "do you want a gift card, or a formal complaint sent to the manager and district manager" and was of no help at all either. She also smelled worse after grooming and was very anxious. 2 days after, I realize my dog was not bettering from what I thought was an upset stomach, so I end up taking her in on Father's day to the 24/7 clinic and realize she caught a stomach bug. I have no doubt it was from PetSmart. I feel terribly guilty for taking her there since my local groomer had no appointments that day. NEVER again and you shouldn't do that to your doggie either.. read more

excited that theres a groomers by my house. We take our dogs here a few times a year and every time he comes out, he's looking cuter than ever. The groomers are very nice and good at their job. We recently even was able to have a walk in with our dog. so convenient. The rest of the store is decent. If you come at the right time, you can see the dogs staying at the hotel hang out in their play area. I love being able to take my dog to places :) read more

I brought 4 beautiful guppies from them and you know what happened the next day? They all started dying! I did nothing wrong and brought them to company my two guppies that I had for long time, then they died on me (the ones I brought from PetSmart) Specially my male guppy died the night because this lady/woman has no training to handle or care for the fishes! She manage to drop my male guppies to hard, cold, and not seem clean floor to his death out of the net? How you drop a fish from its net?! I was so shock and scared that she hurt my dear fish (R.I.P. Aki, Star, Mabel, and Ty) Petco does a way better job and they keep their water containers hang on the tank to drop the fish in, then this lady didn't even done that, she just place it on the desk and climbed up and down from the ladder. I'm never ever going buy my pets from his place again and I even had my dog bathed here and they say she going be done in 2 hours but it ended up being 8 hours! How long does it take to bathe one medium size dog? Btw they should keep their floors dry around the aquarium area because someone could had slip and hurt themselves or could be worse. read more

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are pretty good about keeping the shelves stocked. However, the groomers need to pay closer attention to the directions on how short you want your pets hair cut. I will still go there for pet supplies and probably will still have my pets haircut there, but the next time, I will stay and watch to make sure they don't cut my baby's hair to short. Absolutely the worst groom my dog has ever gotten! Can't believe I paid $70 for my dog to come out looking like he did. The groomer that handled him was all tatted up - not that it matters, but don't use her, if you ever go there. His nose was shaved down to a nub and yet his beard and jaw áreas were left long. This was the last place Chloe, my Australian Shepard, visit before she died. I took her for her yearly grooming on 4/8 and the groomers were very nice and friendly and they did an awesome job grooming her. I got a very sweet review of Chloe. She was happy I was happy she was great. She died this morning from plant poising, I just wanted to share this positive review which I will never forget. The staff is very unprofessional in the grooming Department. I dropped off my dog to get groomed and told them specifically how I wanted him groomed. The manager was the groomer so I thought my dog would look great. Boy was I wrong!!! The only thing that was wright was the length of his coat on his body. The manager(groomer) did not cut the top of my dogs head nor did he trim his ears like we asked. Also, the sanitary cut he missed a patch of hair to the right side of his rectum. To top it all off his nails were not cut nor grinded down which I paid extra for! Oh & no cologne like they said came with the package!!! We took him back the very next day and they said when the manager came back in he would fix him. We left and at 10:04 am I get a call from the manager/ groomer & he tells me that he grinded the nails to the vain and if he did it any more he would cut the quick. But my dogs nails were long and were barely grinded. Anyway, he said when you get him back his paws might be a red!!! And, sure enough when we picked my dog up the second day his right paw was all bloody, there was even blood on the floor & my dog even had poop stuck to his hair where he missed a patch of hair. He literally hurt him so bad he pooped himself!!! This is premeditated abuse!!! I will never take my poor dog back here again!!! read more

I took my Goldendoodle in to be groomed in the Petsmart in Webster, Texas. When I picked her up, she was covered with razor burns across her chest and they had shaved her ears. The groomer handed her over to me as if nothing was wrong. I asked for the manager who took one look at her and took her over to the attached veterinary clinic for treatment. They even shaved her ears which I have never seen done on a Goldendoodle and yet left the base of her tail fully grown out. Their excuse was that the groomer that worked on her was a new employee. Despite this being one of the furthest Petsmart's around me, I frequent this store location at least once or twice a week. I have always been pleased with the customer service, however my experience at the pet hotel tonight, drastically changed my opinion of this store. I called earlier today to make reservations for my dog to board there tomorrow. I was told to bring in her shot records when we checked in. To avoid some of the hassle, I brought the shot records in tonight (the night before boarding). Boy, am I ever glad I did! I was told that my dog could not come in because her vaccination records indicated she had just had a shot today. The woman at the desk repeatedly told me that dogs cannot come in within 48 hours of an injection being given. I explained that my dog did not get an injection, she had nasal drops. When I had made the reservation, I specifically asked about this. They assured me that it would be OK for my dog to board as long as I brought proof that the previous vaccination had not expired. I confirmed this with my vet, too, because the last thing I want is a possibility of my dog getting sick while in boarding. The woman at the counter, however, was very snippy with me. She then proceeded to tell me I didn't have a reservation. I explained that I called today and made a reservation. She said, "No, you called the reservations desk in Phoenix, Arizona". I said, I called the store's number and apparently it rerouted me there then. She said that I did not have a reservation. OK, correct me if I'm wrong but if I called and made reservations desk to make a reservation, and shouldn't I have a reservation? If the main headquarters of Petsmart and the actual store locations don't have a way for their computers to talk, then this shouldn't be the customers fault, right?!She then made my reservation, and at the same time made me feel like she was doing me some favor. I am seriously considering calling in the morning and canceling my reservation due to how I was treated. I'm very concerned that the same woman might mistreat my dog. I'm very disappointed with the way I was treated this evening, especially since it's not what I've come to know from this store location's customer service. I guess it's time to start going to the closer Petsmart's in the future. I just wish that they also had a pet hotel. read more

I worked for the Petshotel for about a year. I have to say it was one of my favorite jobs. Debbie was a great boss and Jana G. was a great assistant manager. Good customer service starts when a customer walks through the door. It took the grooming team at least a minute to greet me. Each of them looked at me and didn't say hi, hello, are you here for an appointment, nothing! After I received a phone call that my two dogs were ready for pick up I noticed my bill for a haircut and top dog shampoo had 2 extra charges for a "de-mat".... Is it just me or isn't this why I paid them to shave my dogs hair off. After asking what this was and questioning why I am being charged extra when there was no need for a de-mat because I asked for them to shave his hair all short (which they did) the lady then changed her response to "oh well it's because of how we had to shape his hair around his head" WHAT!!!!!! She said all pet smarts are supposed to charge extra for his haircut... Even though he had the same haircut last time at the same place and nothing was charged! I have 4 dogs and we will not be going back due to this one day of horrible customer service... And the fact that I believe they are over charging me for my dogs now!!!!! It was that bad!! read more

I took my dog in for grooming and after two hours they called to tell me they were getting her out of the cage. I told them I was going to wait for her and came in to the store where I saw four groomers standing around doing nothing. After over 20 minutes they came out to tell me that my dog was aggressive and biting they couldn't get her out if the cage. She has never bitten anyone and only shakes with fear at the vets and other groomers. I think they didn't like the fact that I wanted to watch since there was a daschund screaming bloody murder when I went in when they were filing his nails. They said they were afraid I would accuse them of doing something to my dog since she was aggressive. What were they planning to do that made them so nervous I would be watching? Because I don't buy the aggressive bit for a second. read more

The pets hotel is great, my friend works here so I can guarantee they do a good job in the area, pet grooming- not so much, they are very inconsistent and i always get mixed results sometimes it doesn't even look like they trimmed my dog much & I end up paying 50$ for nothing (I have a yorkie btw) the only person who grooms my dog properly is Celeste (the manager) but I will not be going back to grooming after the job they did this time. read more

I have been a very loyal customer of PetsMart for 12 years. I now find that I am a second class customer as I refuse to give out my personal info to receive a "Loyalty Card". I purchase a special premium dog food that is only available in pet stores. I thought I would just go to PetCo for my supplies but lo and behold they also require a card also...........I will not lie about info so I have resigned myself to a being a second class customer. Shame on PetsMart for this...........I am trying to find my supplies somewhere else in Houston. read more
