I ordered a dog crate online for my new dog. I went in to the shop and asked someone where I pick up online orders. They asked me what I ordered, brought it out to me and someone carried it out to my car. Boom - 10 minutes or less in the store. I actually didn't get a chance to see any of the store but it looked super busy. They had some other rescue dogs in there waiting to be adopted. Makes me want to take all the puppies. read more

I had brought in my husky mix dog to get a haircut for the summer. As I had arrived to the grooming room, they had asked me what I was wanting done. I had specified that I wanted behind her ears cut to avoid matting but to leave the fringe at the front of her ears. I then told them to cut down her stomach, chest, and butt enough to where she felt comfortable and it looked good, but not too much where it was too short with her double coat. When I had picked her up, her ears and the fringe had been completely cutt off and I automatically noticed how choppy her ears and her chest was. I got home and as she was walking in front of me, I notice that there is one part on her back leg shaved and the other side is not. I was shocked to say the least and disappointed with the end result of her haircut. I have pictures down below, one being a picture of her with her fringe and one after the haircut. During this COVID-19 era, I adopted a beagle that my friend was fostering. So of course I wanted to get her some treats! Plenty of natural or organic options, some reasonably priced. They even carry some products from dog bakeries. When I signed up for a PetSmart account, I got a complimentary bag of treats and toy with my first order. The staff at this location were friendly and thorough when it came time to do my curbside pickup. The store requires staff and customers to wear masks if shopping in the store during this time too. Overall, this store and location provides a great experience when shopping for one's fur friend during these times. read more

Had an issue at checkout but Liz 'Lizard' was absolutely amazing. Petco honors petco.com prices in stores!!! The computer glitched. She put the numbers in right & the computer still charged me full price but wouldn't let me return them, only would refund me the sale price she keyed in. Anyways, we walked through it & she gave me the customer service number and tada customer service added my refund to my reward card. So remember sometimes, just be nice & everything will sort its self out. read more

Had scheduled appointment for grooming of my Service Dog (certified) but on arrival was informed that their 'call center' had cancelled my appointment and scheduled others in my time slot. I have been shopping here for years. I love this store. I've been welcomed by the same nice lady every week. We've recently switched our pets to Grain-Free and it wasn't easy finding something they would eat. So week by week I would buy some cans and return some cans. Never did anyone make me feel like I was wasting their time. Returns and refunds were given with a smile. Petsmart carries many brands of food for every price point. This is a store where you can shop for everything your pet needs. They carry items for rabbits, birds, fish and reptiles too! I love that they have an adoption center and do adoption events. So I dropped my dog off for grooming knowing that it had been a while since the last groom but consistently washed him. I was aware that they would have to shave home pretty short to do a reset but I've always maintained his private area by keeping the hair trim(with shears) pretty low. For whatever reason, they decided to use a razor on my dogs private area and it wasn't noticeable when I picked him up from his appointment but I noticed he was walking with a limp and couldn't wait to lick the area. My God is it extremely noticeable now he has severe razor burn on his penis/sack area. I can tell the area is overly irritable because my dog is constantly licking the area(a lot more than normal) and he is walking with a weird limp. He is not neutered so the razor clipped some of his sack area as well. He doesn't even want to sleep in fetal position like he normally does. He only stands or lays on his back in resting position now. The only thing the groomer mentioned to me at the time was that he didn't really care for having his paws touched & that was normal behavior for most dogs and other than that they had no other issue with him. Upon walking into the store the customer service was severely lacking. In my years of working in customer service I was trained to welcome people upon arrival, not to simply glance at them when they walk through the doors and to bring my eyes back to my phone. The greet, or lack of one wasn't an issue until the service continued to decline. A couple in front of my friend and I were taking an exceptional amount of time looking up their pet perks information upon checkout. An additional couple separated us from the register with over 20 items in the belt. When MICHELLE opened up lane 2 she told the couple with the plethora of items to step over to her lane while looking at my friend and I with one item in our hands. They took a while to get their items together and I asked if she could scan us out in the meantime (as the lady was clearly still struggling to get all her cat food off of the belt) she simply looked bewildered and gestured for the other couple to come over. She didn't even acknowledge us and as I walked back to the other line I let out a confused, "thanks?!" And it wasn't until that moment she let out a loud, "you're welcome!!" The sarcasm was clearly heard. I don't know if this was because of the way I dress or my sexual orientation yet when that sort of behavior is displayed it leads me to think that's what it was. I've been a fan of PetSmart for years and will remain loyal, just not to the Hixson, TN location. read more

I'm very disappointed in their fish care. They have more dead fish then live ones in the tanks. I got 10 neon tetras yesterday but when I got home 2 we're already dead in the bag. It's a horrible place to buy anything at I feel absolutely horrible for all of the poor animals read more

When I left Chloe as requested, early in the morning, they could not tell me an approximate time. I finally went to pick her up at 3pm after a call. Six hair cutters were busy. The back room must have a lot of dogs waiting in line. The noise level was awful. Chloe was frantic when they brought her back. I paid and left a tip. Chloe is a very laid back dog, she's 12 yo. She got in the car and was so hyper we had trouble getting her to settle down. I could hardly drive. She was bouncing around like a ping pong ball. We got her home and finally she settled down. Her hair cut was awful! Her feet weren't trimmed well, she had a long hunk of hair hanging from one eat. I will never take my dog back there. read more

The petsmart in Hixson was kind enough to sell us 20 feeder fish for my red ear slider turtle, but they refused to sell me a betta fish with a half gallon tank for a temporary habitat, even though they leave them in a cup the size of a dang coffee cup, but thankfully. My turtle gets to eat some goldfish and minnows. read more

I went to PetSmart today on Hwy 153 in Hixson Tn, and as always they have some of the best customer service ever and I've cheated on them and went to a store on the other side of the river and I will always be going to my store even if I move! I'm assuming they're reorganizing their store because everything is moved and the tags that mark the isles to tell you what they are aren't accurate at all. Also, a dog came around the corner and snapped at my child who was looking at the snakes had my husband not pulled him away the dog would've bit my son in the face. SEVERAL employees watched it happen and nothing was done. I realize it's a pet store and they allow pets to come in the store but such an aggressive dog should've been told to leave the store. Asked for help buying a new crate for my anxious dog. The associate was clearly annoyed to be asked to assist. She told us that a cloth crate would be best for an anxious dog who crews and claws to get out of her current metal crate (it also happened to be the most expensive). We took her word for it. Then got home and read the packaging "not for dogs who bite or claw when crated." I understand that associates make mistakes, but the fact that she was incredibly rude is the reason for my low rating! read more

I needed a nail trim on my dog. After a very disappointing experience at a competitor I stopped in here. What a difference. Six groomers on site and no waiting. They gave me a receipt with a bar code to pay with. By the time I had paid and was halfway back to the groomers they were paging me that my dog was done. The store was clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and professional. This will be my store of choice for grooming my dog from now on. read more

I moved away so I tried out Petco in Cleveland. NEVER again! I'll take the time to drive back to you for my dogs grooming needs. They were horrible. Y'all are always super friendly and do an excellent job with my dogs! I took my 2 dogs to Petco in Clevland to get baths and one to get clipped. Picked them up and the one I had clipped had several places where he was shaved right to the skin. My other dog was shedding just as bad as when I took her in. After a good bath, she stops shedding for a while. She didn't even smell good. And to top it off the staff was horrible! Very rude, no smiles, thank you, nothing. I only went to this store bc I had moved but I will now take the extra time to drive to Petsmart in Hixson where staff and service is wonderful AND cheaper for the same service! I miss y'all! I needed to get my dog groomed and the Hixson Petsmart was the only location anywhere in town that had any openings, it's further than I wanted to go but we were going out of town and I needed it done. Apparently I booked the wrong day went in a day early, and that is my fault, but while i was there they asked if I would move my appointment back to 1:30 instead of 3:30 the next day so they could be done by 5:00. I work and can't get off any earlier so I was very annoyed that they would ask, it seemed like they just didn't want to be there late. If they don't want to be there at certain times, then they shouldn't offer bookings then. When I took my dog back the next day I was very displeased. The package I purchased was supposed to include a bath, brush, nail trim, sanitary trim and anal gland expression and they called after only about 20 minutes and said they were done. He still didn't smell like he'd been bathed much, he very obviously hadn't been brushed because you could run your hand over him and fur just bunched up and when i asked if they had expressed his glands the girl said "well he didn't really need it so we didn't do it". That was part of the package I paid for, so it should have been done whether they felt that he needed it or not (which he did). I really think that they were just wanting to get out early since it was a Friday and rushed through everything. I will definitely not be going back to this location. read more

after taking our dog in for nail grinds several times we noticed that there were a few occasions where it looked like they missed nails, or simply didn't cut them at all. HOWEVER this last time, there was a blue haired girl in the grooming center 6/9/19 at around 4pm. she took MUCH longer than we are accustomed to waiting for a nail grind, but low and behold, this was the best nail grind that has EVER been done on our pup. you'd get more stars if I wasn't surprised by receiving the service I've been paying for this whole time. that girl is great for your reputation. Avoid these so called groomers. I took my dog in for a nail trim and they ripped the entire top of his nail off exposing the quick. As if that wasn't bad enough, they said nothing to me. Once I saw what they had done, I returned back to the store and their response was " they didn't notice they had done that". That is a load of bull. There is no way they could not have noticed that the entire top half of his nail was ripped off. Granted, my dog is a hand full, but they way they string the dogs up noose style, I would be pissed as well. Not only will I never let them touch my dog again, I will never shop in their store as well. What they did to my dog is bad enough, but to not inform me, then try to feign ignorance is reckless, inexcusable and absolutely poor business practice. read more
