The staff are always so helpful and friendly. The store is always clean. The Lee's Summit location is easy to get to.

I wish I could type faster, I have so much to say!…read more We love D.O.G.! My 8 week old puppy entered their "Puppy Start Right" program and immediately became accustomed to being handled, trained, and exposed to a lot of household items... crutches, canes, wheel chairs, hair dryer, grooming shears, extension cords, pots and pans. He became a very confident happy puppy quickly! However... the best part of that experience was what the trainers taught ME as the puppy mom! They taught me to always give my dog, a choice, never force him to do something that he is adverse to doing. They taught me about positive reinforcement. They taught me that always carrying my dog around is actually hindering his development, and that I need to allow him to be a "big dog" even though he talked out at 10 pounds. We continued to the adolescent program and I truly enjoyed the 4 weeks of daily day training, and Satchel loves his trainers! We were treated to a end of session handoff meeting, where we were taught how to continue teaching him the good manners, and the good behaviors that we all like seeing in a well trained dog. It was wonderful to be able to see him interact with his trainer. His trainer answered all our questions. In fact, it's important to know that every single day I took my dog in for training, I would greet a trainer who would ask if I had any questions. I knew that this group of fine humans loved my dog as much as I do, if not more at times. It is wonderful to see how satchel behaves in public, how he handles a leash, and how he behaves at home as a confident, young puppy. This center is very careful to not over populate their staff meaning they only take on a safe number of dogs that can be taught properly during the amount of time. Their facility is extremely clean my dog had access to water, food, treats and enrichment at all times. Satchel really enjoys the obstacle courses, and now he is currently being trained for the canine good citizen distinction. I really appreciate the fun activities like Easter egg hunts and group walks that allow me to interact with other dog owners.

We highly recommend this training program. We had a dog that we adopted and unfortunately she was a…read morerunner, was very aggressive towards people, and would not walk on a leash. Lisa and Mike completely changed Stella and our lives for the better. I can now walk her in my neighborhood without a leash and if by chance she gets out or runs away she will come back just by calling. She is the sweetest thing and their training program is worth every penny. I highly recommend them to anyone. Plus Lisa and Mike are just wonderful people and huge dog lovers

The husband and I fostered and adopted our dog Johnny -- a Black Lab/Great Dane mix -- from the KC…read morePet Project back in December. Now, we've never had such a big dog, and it was clear from the start that Johnny had a great temperament. But, he's big, eager, and was on track to accidentally hurt us or someone else, and we definitely had some moments of "Are we sure about this?". After another frustrating morning, our dog walker told us that we really, really needed to invest in some dog training, so I pulled out the pamphlet our vet had given us and made the call. Ken was very reassuring on the phone and described the program as being all about leadership. We opted for private training, which, not gonna lie, is pricey -- $1,000. But, that comes with all the private lessons you need (we only needed four), a year's worth of follow-up (we can call any time with questions), and an initial package of materials including the training book, Gentle Leader head collar, leash, beanbags, etc. To be honest, it's not so much about training the dog as it is about training the people! Once we started consistently using the tools Ken taught us, Johnny became a happy, well-behaved dog who everyone loves. He is still excited to see people, but he doesn't jump (and on the rare occasion that he does, we have a method to quickly correct him). He knows where he belongs in the "pack" (aka us) and doesn't try to take charge. He walks nicely on a leash. We're able to take him to daycare, where he socializes well with other dogs, and doesn't go crazy when he sees other dogs on his walks. And we easily trained him out of "nuisance barking" at things like the mail delivery. Most importantly, Ken taught us a "magic word" that helps us bring Johnny back if he gets out, which, let me tell you, has come in handy. If you amortize the cost of the training over a ten-year life, that's $100 a year for a dog who is a pleasure to be around and everyone is happy to see. That seems cheap! Given where we started -- incredibly frustrated and stressed out -- and where we are now -- everybody's happy -- I can't recommend GentleDogTraining.com highly enough. Spend the money, put in the time, and get the results!

We purchased her puppy package for in-home training sessions with our French Bulldog, Greta. Not only did Pam teach us how to interact with her, but Greta LOVED her and learned so much from her visits. At only four months, Greta is now potty trained, comes on command, sits on command, gives, 'hi-fives,' is crate trained, started to learn how to go on walks with a harness, knows command, 'up,' and 'off,' can fetch, and we learned how to calm her when she gets over stimulated. She even began some skateboarding with her! Of course we have to put in the work to continue to in grain these things in a puppy, but I can't even begin to convey the wealth of knowledge Pam imparted on us, so that we could acclimate more into puppy life and so Greta fit into ours. Pam teaches the human as well as the dog giving you a wealth of information, going above and beyond so that you know why a dog does the things they do, how to manage the behavior, and how the dog will absorb the training. She eased my worries and I was pleasantly surprised how expertly she worked with little ones. I can't recommend her services enough.

Then there was a multi-week gap in communication and eventually a text saying she didn't have the time or energy to help my pup out, all despite me having pre-paid for a 5 session pack. To make matters worse, she overcharged me by $100 for the pack. The only silver lining is that I was able to negotiate a partial refund. The whole experience soured me on Pam 4 Paws.
