I had a very disappointing experience with the grooming service at this PetSmart. I brought my French Bulldog in for a bath after taking him to a dog park. Before the grooming appointment, I took several photos of him, and there were no visible injuries, redness, or marks on his face or nose. When I picked him up after the grooming service, I immediately noticed that his face was extremely red and that there was a noticeable red mark/scab on his nose. I was still inside the PetSmart when I noticed it, so I went back and asked what had happened. I had previously informed the staff that my dog is sensitive to the blow dryer. Instead of being given a clear explanation, I was told that he may have been scared, hit his nose, or scratched his own nose. However, this appeared to be speculation rather than something they had actually witnessed. What concerned me most was that no one informed me that my dog had any injury or unusual redness during the grooming appointment. I had to discover it myself after picking him up. I have photos from before and after the grooming appointment showing the difference. I have contacted PetSmart and requested that they investigate what happened and review and preserve any available surveillance footage. I hope management takes this seriously and provides an actual explanation rather than simply assuming that my dog injured himself. read more

For grooming services... I chose PetSmart grooming after being told it was an affordable great reliable option--almost $25 less than my usual groomer--so I decided to give it a try. On Saturday, 12/13, we arrived for our 9:00 a.m. appointment. Upon walking in, we were not greeted until I initiated the interaction. One associate who had just finished assisting another customer did say good morning, but the groomer assigned to our appointment, Alexandria, approached in a noticeably sluggish manner, yawning and rubbing her eyes. There was no attempt to interact with my dog in a calm, friendly, or reassuring way. I previously worked in a veterinary setting and understand how important a gentle and positive approach is when handling animals. Unfortunately, the initial assessment felt rushed and rough. My dog--who is normally very sweet, playful, and has never shown aggression--reacted by growling, which immediately shocked me as she has never showed this. Right after, Alexandria stated she would not be able to groom my dog that day. When she handled her again, my dog reacted similarly, and I was told to bring her back another time. At that point, we left. Later that same day, I took my dog to my usual groomer, where she was handled without issue and groomed normally. This further confirmed that the reaction earlier was situational and related to the handling approach, not my dog's temperament. This experience was disappointing and inconvenient, as I had scheduled the appointment specifically so I could run errands in the area during the grooming, especially since this location is not close to my home. Additionally, both of my sons (19 & 12) independently commented on the groomer's demeanor and how uncomfortable the interaction felt, confirming that this was not just my personal perception. Ultimately, this experience reinforced why I am willing to pay more for proper, attentive care. I will be returning to my regular groomer, where my dog is handled with patience and kindness, and where I feel confident in the level of care she receives. In the end, paying a little more also means supporting a small business that consistently provides the quality and professionalism I value. read more

The fish department has really gone downhill in the last few months. The bettas are not taken care of. Their cups are always dirty and cloudy. No matter what day or time I go in. Bettas are not well. Well we came in for a harness for our dog. Was told they would be with me in a few minutes. There were at least 8 people in line. Then they got a second person to help check people out . Then it appeared that the checkers don't know what they were doing. Meanwhile we were standing there and watching more people getting into line and was wondering when we would get any help. The Pet Hotel completely screwed up our reservation for our animals. We made our reservation 4 months ago and were very specific on the treatment of our animals. We followed up three times to ensure we were all on the same page. The day of we were told that our arrangement was no longer valid. I was originally going to give my experience a 1 star (only because that's the lowest amount permitted) due to a negative experience with a young man today 2/16/26. When ringing up my items a mistake worth $150 was made. I noticed it in my care before I drove away. I went back and made him aware of it and showed him the mistake in the receipt. He immediately got defensive and started arguing with me how it wasn't a mistake, I returned the same energy of course and pointed out the mistake again trying to be as clear as possible. I asked for the mistake to be corrected and to double check the rest of the items, he kept arguing with me until Deedra (I hope I'm spelling her name right) stepped in and she not only corrected the mistake but double checked everything else and sure enough she found more mistakes. She showed outstanding customer service and professionalism. She apologized for the incident even though it wasn't her apology to be given. I appreciated it. Because of Deedra and Deedra alone I'm given my experience a 5 star. Although I hope the young short man who caused the bad experience doesn't treat other costumers the way he did me. Very Disappointed with PetSmart Grooming Salon. I had a grooming appointment for my dog today, and when I arrived, I was told they couldn't take my dog because they had a few call-outs. I understand that things happen, but what frustrated me was that no one bothered to contact me ahead of time to let me know. When I asked why I wasn't informed, I was told that it's the manager's job to contact customers, yet no one did. It's extremely inconvenient to show up for a scheduled appointment only to be turned away, especially when this could have been easily avoided with a simple phone call or message. Very poor communication and customer service. I won't be bringing my dog back here. read more

We love this Petsmart. They have a wide selection of cat food. So many different brands and flavors. The store is always fully stocked and all the aisles are clear. All the employees are very helpful and greet us all the time. They greet us when we walk in and greet us when we leave. Im sure our fur babies love Petsmart too. Oh my! My dog is in a special rx diet. I went there today 1/10/26. The food is in the shelf, so... I get 4 cans, I showed my card - expired 10/18/25. Why wasn't I told 2 weeks ago? If you have a Goldendoodle or any kind of dog that requires a lot of maintenance, you probably understand where I am coming from when I say it is hard to find a good place to get your dog bathed/groomed. I have been to some places where Maui has come out semi-dry and at times when Maui looked better coming in than coming out. Today, was the third time Matthew bathed Maui. We have been specifically requesting him his last couple bathing appointments because Matthew does such a thorough and clean job and Maui always comes out nice and FLUFFY! Thank you for taking pride in your job and for taking care of our baby, Maui. I came here and was looking at fish. There were three dead betta fish that had decayed and turned the water brown. Additionally, there were dead fish in the community tanks that had been picked at by the other fish so much that their fins and heads were gone. Disgusting... THIS REVIEW DOES NOT PERTAIN THE STORE, GROOMING SALON OR BANFIELD I was going away for a weekend trip and dropped off my 15 year old pup for a quick two night stay. I added on the option for day care play time during the day, but informed the staff that he's really old and might get overwhelmed because he's not used to being around many dogs. The staff assured me that my dog would be taken care of and checked on frequently, even telling me that they would give him breaks from the play area if they saw him looking uncomfortable. I picked him up on a Sunday afternoon and was able to peep at him through the large window of the play area. This picture is from a video of how I found my dog. Eyes closed, trembling, looking so sick. An employee was just walking around him cleaning not paying any attention to how sick he looked, or even if she didn't recognize he was sick it's apparent to anyone with eyes that he's uncomfortable at the least. I was so in shock at how he looked that I couldn't even think of what to say to the staff... I just wanted him gone as soon as possible. My dog died a week later. He was old and I'm not saying that they could have saved him but Banfield pet hospital (where my dog is insured) is literally at the back of the store. They could have at least had him checked out... Do NOT bring your dog here. The staff do not care about the well being of your pet. They walk around doing tasks waiting to clock out. Your pet is a piece of furniture in their way. read more

When I came to pick him up, he is shaved, he has bruises from the razor on his belly, which look like they bleed. The associate who was there couldn't find any notes as to why my dog was shaved with a size 1 blend instead of a 4. She left his tail bushy. I asked for his nose to be trimmed- it wasn't. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FUR-BABIES HERE!!! We brought our Baby boy in for a weekend stay, 10/11/24 he was happy & excited when we dropped him off! On Sunday 10/13/24, we arrived at the hotel in the morning, our baby was so sick, he looked drugged, lethargic, skinny & has had diarrhea & vomiting since.. I immediately contacted petsmart hotel & asked for the manager (Michelle) to find out what had happened to him, if he had been in a fight with another dog, or injured and the young girl said she was at lunch & would call me back-I didn't receive a call back, so I called again the next day & AGAIN, the manager was at lunch! I did receive a call from the manager, (Michelle) she said Niko had no issues, ate well, & that she would contact us in the morning to check on him & if he wasn't feeling better, to have us bring Niko in, so she could take him to the Banfield Veterinarian there at this location to have him checked out..She NEVER called, finally at 2:00pm we took our boy in, the manager (Michelle) argued with us, said she didn't say she was going to call us in the morning, nor take him over to the on-site veterinarian..I was furious, she was so insensitive, rude, & flat out lied to our faces!!! She then asked us to hold on went into a side room, came back out about 10 minutes later, she said "we could take Niko in tomorrow morning & that she was just going to call us before we came in" okay so which is it, you were going to call us, or you never said you were going to call us!! Completely unprofessional, rude & insensitive!!! I will be contacting the Corporate Office & if my boy doesn't recover, I will contact an attorney for negligence on their part!! I've been taking my dog here for grooming for over a year with no issues, but today I had the worse experience with the groomers. They claimed my doodle was overly matted (a complete lie - she only had some matting which they could have easily been worked through). We thoroughly de-matted her before the appointment. They said they can only shave her completely which is totally lazy. They also refused to give her a bath, leaving me with zero options. These people aren't groomers. My snakes heating pad randomly stopped working and i'm traveling out of cali for a couple days and today was the only day I could get a new one. I was going to be a few minutes late to the store(the store was closing at 9pm) so I called frantically to see if they could just wait a little so I could get a new heating pad for him. Not only did they keep the doors open for me which is not their job to do, they also brought different options for me to choose at the register. I am extremely unhappy with the PetSmart Glendora doggie hotel. I left my dog there for 8 days while I was on vacation, and when I picked her up, her blanket and linens had a terrible smell from urine and even had visible pee stains. My dog is very well trained; she never pees in the house or anywhere she lies down. She absolutely will not pee indoors. You have to take her outside. There was no reason for her linens to smell like urine. Additionally, she was very itchy. Once I got her home, I had to wipe her down to alleviate the itching. I was informed that they would take her out three times a day for play and bathroom breaks, but I'm not sure if that actually happened. It's really disappointing to spend so much money and receive such poor service. I have no idea what kind of care she received while she was there. I am very disappointed with PetSmart Glendora doggy hotel and will not be taking my dog back there. I even canceled her appointment for next week. Since picking her up on Tuesday evening, I have tried to call customer service and the store directly twice, but each time my call dropped after 12 minutes. The promotional materials look great, but the service was lacking. For the price customers pay for an overnight stay, the service was not worth it. Never again; my pet deserves much better. Also, I never received a survey about the service, which I would have used to report my experience. read more

Horrible experience. My wife and I went to inquire about the dog hotel service they offer on 9/6. Everything went well with our consultation, however, on 9/7 when my wife arrived to drop off the dogs, she was told that they would not be able to accept one of our dogs because it was from a breeder. This should have been brought to our attention during our initial visit! To make things worse, the employee working on 9/7 couldn't verify the date on our dog's paperwork. She had to go find a vet to read the date... My wife had to eventually flag down the worker and find out what was going on. The whole process took an hour long, just for them to tell my wife that they couldn't accept one of our dogs because we got it from a breeder. Thanks to Petsmart, my wife and her wedding party were late to the rehearsal dinner for our wedding. read more

I took my dog here for grooming a few times. The first couple of times were fine, but now my dog refuses to go in there. Unfortunately, my dog cannot talk, but I suspect that maybe something really bad happened to him there. My dog has never had any problems with other grooming places. Also, on once occasion, one of the dog groomers (a guy) did not use the prescription shampoo, even though I left explicit written and verbal instructions to do so. Very poor management. I had witnessed an incident here where an employee was out-of-control and very unprofessional. I watched the whole event from start to finish and it was disturbing. Needless to say I ended up speaking with the manager about this incident. The manager herself was very unprofessional blew me off and told me I don't know the whole story. In the end, none of that matters, what matters is my own experience that I had there that day which the manager did not acknowledge. When I called corporate to complain they never called me back as they said they would. Very poor customer service for such a highly reputable store. The only thing I recommend now would be the dog trainer. Debbie, she amazing and very helpful, but the rest of the store doesn't seem to care about it's customer's.
