I've been going to Petsmart for a couple of years now, and this was my first time to the Store in Fontana. My Appointment was for 11:30AM , so I arrived with my puppy at 11:20AM. I was told to return for her by 2:00 PM....sooo I arrived at 1:40PM...and she was still in the pet cage. She had not been attended to since I Ieft her at 11:20. I was told come back at 2PM..so at 2PM she was still in the groomers arms getting her nails trimmed, and when I picked her up she was soaking wet. I was told she growled at the groomer...I would growl too if I was left in a cage unattended for 3 hours...and then RUSHED to take a bath to be ready in 10 min. I think this is unacceptable for a company that is so well known in the area. I was very disappointed in this Store. read more

I am very disappointed and irate by how poor their grooming service was. We specifically asked for a teddy bear cut and they literally just shaved my poor dog down and left practically no fur! Furthermore the groomer had poor customer service and was very rude. At the end we did not receive a report, which I typically had received from other locations. We paid for a wash and cut and my dog came back smelling like she was never washed. It will take this poor pup months until she gets a normal length back. This review is for the training department, specifically Sam. My puppy is an extremely energetic lab rescue. The fact that our Alabama responds to commands now is really mind-blowing. Sam took extra time reassuring us that all that energy causes dogs to do crazy things, that our dog really was a smart, good girl. We were ready to call it day, but we never gave up. She still goes nuts when she's over-stimulated, but its manageable, and I no longer feel defeated. If you're dog seems like a real slow learner, DO NOT GIVE UP! I came into petsmart And made an appointment for my dog Daisy to be groomed. The appointment was for 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday I was a bit surprised when they tell me I would need to stay in the store the entire time Because she had a history of seizures. I I told them I had been bringing Daisy there for over 10 years and never had I been told that I needed to wait for her but that that was fine as long as I could be out by 9. On Tuesday I received a phone call confirming my appointment for 12:30 that was not my appointment time I made 4 attempts to contact The groomer I finally got someone on the phone and was told That they had to change my appointment because of an issue with another dog and I explain to them that that was unacceptable that I had made the appointment in that they needed to stick with the time that I had scheduled. The person i spoke with was rude to me I eventually spoke to the manager And he confirmed that I could bring her in 8 o'clock the following morning and that I did not have to wait for her. I brought Daisy in completely healthy no problems no limps nothing. When I picked her up and got her home I realize she had a huge contusion on her side and she was limping .She was not injured when I brought her in to be groomed and quite frankly I think that someone Hurt her purposely To get back at me for insisting on my original appointment.I am simply heartbroken that someone there would harm my dog. I will be taking her to the vet to have her leg looked at and X-ray however this happen while she was in the groomers care. Someone needs to be accountable. I like the store and the staff however, I did have a pretty bad experience with one of the rescue groups that go over to the store on weekends. My sister and I were walking by with our dog, when our dog started barking at the dogs in the kennels we just decided to walk away. One of the bigger dogs was very upset and was barking. He managed to break out of the kennel and ran straight at my sister and her dog. He started jumping on my sister to try to get to my sisters dog. I was terrified when i saw that dog run towards my sister. Then the people in charge of the rescue group came to get the dog and they didn't say anything to us. The thing that made it worse was that they apologized to a lady who was closer to them because she had a little girl with her. It was a scary situation but i believe they should have apologized to my sister not the other lady. My sister is 17 and while she wasn't exactly a little girl she was terrified that an angry dog ran at her. We were so upset we just left so we didn't find out the name of the rescue group. read more

This is a review of their grooming salon. I took my dog there for a bath, haircut, and nail trimming. They did an outstanding, thorough, and professional job. My dog is a good dog, but can get very agitated, nervous, and panicky when a bath or haircut is involved. I was worried that he would try their patience, but they were very patient and caring towards him. When they were cutting the hair around some of his, how should I put it ... "sensitive" areas, they had another person holding him and trying to keep him calm. I was skeptical about this place because I had never tried them before, but I will certainly go back here the next time my dog needs a groom. read more

I like that this Petsmart has great cats to visit & adopt. However, I can't always find the products I'm looking for. They have a pretty good fish selection and the staff is helpful if needed. Now, I love shopping at Petsmart, but my shopping experience here was awful! My husband and I were looking for a hamster. We already knew what type, color and gender of hamster we were looking for. We had already been to several other Petsmarts that day. One of the other stores told us they had female hamsters at the Fontana store so we gave them a call, even though they are a bit out of the way. We called twice, and got put on hold 5 times total, no one from the pet care department picked up, because the lady who answered had to keep putting us on hold to try to get a hold of someone to help us. Not to mention they hung up on us. We asked over the phone if they had the type of hamsters we were looking for, and after they said yes, we asked if they had a certain coloration of them. The lady said yes. We got there, nobody greeted us. We went and stood over by the hamsters. Nobody came over to help us, when it was very clear we were needing help, we even made eye contact with one of the few employees there, but they wandered off somewhere else. We probably stood around for 10-15 minutes, and we looked around, but there were hardly any employees working. We tried waiting for the girl working pet care but she was taking forever feeding the reptiles- who seemed new. The only other employee we saw on the floor was a pet trainer. While we waited, we looked and saw that they did not have the hamster that we called about at all. I feel like when we called, the lady just looked at the picture on the price tag and didn't even bother to ask someone from that department. And the thing was, they weren't even busy, so it shouldn't have been that much trouble to help us. We eventually ended up leaving since they didn't have what we wanted, and were clearly not going to see if we needed anything (we probably couldn't look more in need to help or annoyed if we tried). We will definitely not be shopping at this location again. It was just terrible customer service, or rather a lack of. read more

Took my adorable 5 month old Maltese, Harley Skywalker to PetSmart in Fontana today for grooming. What they did to her was pure horror! Why do they need 3 to 4 hours to torture your pet? If we knew what we know now, we would have never taken her there. The horror begins: We check in and go into detail, with multiple pictures, explaining what we did and didn't want. They tell us to return in 3 to 4 hours. We say we would be waiting which was not received well. We live far from this store so we were waiting. Harley was whisked away into another room out of view. Circling the store, trying to see when they would bring her out again, dragged on and on. We get a phone call 2 hours later asking if we are near. The groomer (if he can be called that) said he was not sure what I wanted (even after the coaching and pictures?) and that they (he and the other groomers) couldn't figure it out. We go back to the grooming department. The small area is crowed with an entire family having communication issues with a groomer who is holding a small white dog who is fiercely shaking. I realize that this skinned, shaking dog is my beautiful, playful puppy Harley. She is listless except for the tremors raging through her now bare body, sans the chopped fur on her head and tail. The shaved fur is not even, but ragged. One ear was plucked, her eyes had been bladed down to the skin and there was still dog food around her mouth. He held her like a piece of luggage. For 10 minutes, he held her while we reached for her, and he dealt with the language barrier family. The entire time she shook. Though they still had more torture to instill, we insisted they give her to us so we could run as fast and as far as we could from that chamber of hell. We will never return. Please, please, beware. I usually take my dog to this location to get a bath. I never had a problem with anything before, everyone is always polite. Friday I brought my girl there for a basic bath, as I said she's been here MANY times before. For some reason after I picked her up and was on my way home I kept smelling what reminded me of an old guy with terrible cologne. I couldn't stand it anymore and finally called them back and had to ask what they put on her. The girl that answers the phone put me on hold to ask the girl that gave the bath. She came back and told me that she put on this new cologne that was like Axe for a boy dog. I told her that it's a girl dog, I mean how could she NOT know that after giving her a bath! She said she was sorry and that I could bring her back the next day and they would wipe her down and put the "girl" spray on her....needless to say I didn't and I'm VERY unhappy. I took my wolfie to the groomers, trusting them with my dog. And I specifically told the not to cut too short and the same cut as before. It should have been like a bearcut with fluffy fur but now they said there are no matting but when I picked my dog up they shaved him and looked like a malnourished puppy. This review is based on the grooming department, I have a 5 month old shih tzu who I took in for service. I asked for specific instructions which they did follow but i purposely arrived 45 minutes early to see how long it takes them to call me to let me know my dog is ready to be picked up. I waited 10 minutes and as a reminder my dog was already done with her entire grooming she was placed inside a metal crate and left to wait while 5 employees stood around chit chatting i then went up to the front desk pissed off because i knew my dog was done and confronted one of the employees demanding they get me my dog. As a surprise they couldn't find my dog because the dumb person who groomed her threw out or did idk what with her paperwork and took off for the day. At this point I was so upset I had to tell them where my dog was because I saw when the worker placed her in the crate. Never again!!!!! read more

Should have listened to the reviews. I read the reviews before visiting PetSmart in Fontana and based off that knew I didn't want Cecelia grooming my Shih Tzu puppy but I also saw positive reviews about the other groomers. My first visit I had Delana B. she was excellent. I enjoyed the experience and scheduled another appointment for Delana. It was at my second visit everything went bad. First thing I noticed was that Delana wasn't there. I felt like since I had an appointment with her and she wasn't there I should have been called and given the option to reschedule. Even upon arriving no one told me that Delana was not going to be in instead I was told very rudely that it would be at least a four hour wait before they could even get to my puppy and when I asked Why so long when I had an appointment, Cecelia turns to another groomer and says, " last time she had Delana and she takes her appointments right away. She doesn't know we take a few hours." Even though I was being helped by Robert every question I asked was answered rudely by Cecelia. Not wanting my puppy left in a kennel for hours I left without getting any services done. I not be returning to PetSmart again. This is my first puppy and second grooming appointment ever. Based off my first experience with Delana, I thought with an appointment your puppy was seen at that time not thrown in a kennel until they get to it. Also like I stated had I known Delana was not going to be there I would not have wasted my time coming in. Cecelia is exactly how other reviews say she is. Very rude and unhelpful. I won't be the only customer lost because of experiences with her. read more

DO NOT groom your dog with CECILIA. All she cares about is the money not your dog. I went there for the first time with my new 2 month old puppy. I waited 25 minutes for the groomer Cecilia. Another groomer offer to take my puppy because she was taking to long just as Cecilia showed up. Cecilia then tells me she needs to put my puppy in a kennel and my poor puppy was shaking so much. Naturally I ask her if she can just do the grooming and she said it was $11 more for an express wash. What made me so upset was she didn't have any other dogs. The second groomer very nicely offer again to take her, she didn't have any dogs, I agree because this groomer was not going to put her in the kennel, she was going to do the grooming straight through. Well that is when Cecilia gets upset saying how she is taking her only dog. If she was your only dog, why insist on putting her in the kennel?She then tells me, next time your going to have to pay for the express, to this I said that I should just go to another place and very rude she responds that I should. As she is being so mean my 7 year is just starting at her and getting scared. People like her should not work there she didn't care that my it was my dogs first time, that she was shaking so much and that she was scared. All she cares about is charging more. The other groomer was super nice and honestly she is the only reason I gave them any stars. I will not go back to this pet smart as long as people like Cecilia work there. When I confronted the girl who helped me (droopy eyed brunette) she was rude about it claiming that she did. She most certainly did not! I had to get a manager involved to formally complain about this employees poor attitude. Use one of the other local groomers. They may cost a hair more, no pun intended, but the job you'll get is much better. They cut my English Springer like a Cocker Spaniel to add insult to injury. Dropped my dog off at 7:50am for her 8:00 appointment. Didn't get a call until 1:30pm telling me she's ready. NEVER have I ever had to wait 5 1/2 hours for a fucking groom. Been going to PetsMart in Las Vegas for years with the same 2 poodle groomers. 2 hours MAX with the early morning appointments. If they were behind or had a problem, they need to make a call & explain what's going on so dog owners like me don't go waiting & waiting & waiting getting all upset about to cause hell.
