The front is easily accessible by wheelchair. The perfect place to get all of your pets necessities! Nestled in the shopping center surrounding the Fairfield Mall, and next to Party City. The store is well maintained and kept clean, even if your furry friend has an accident. The vet is located at the back of the store. They have a variety of reptiles, small furries, and cats to adopt to the back right of the shop. Whether it's a leash, dog food, cat treats, guinea pig hay, fish tanks, or crickets for your reptilians, they got you covered. It's always easy to find the staff if you need help, and they will never turn you away. Always great customer service here, and great deals!

Just got a new puppy, so I'll be here frequently! This store is a couple doors down from Barnes & Noble, and is pretty decently sized. I came in looking for a kennel and cushion for the kennel, and found a pretty good selection to choose from. I wasn't shopping for anything else, but could tell that there's a huge selection of food, toys, and pretty much anything else you would need for your pet. Checkout was quick and friendly as well. I'll probably be back at some point this weekend. Raising an 8 week old puppy is no chore, lol!

I took my Maltipoo in for grooming. I typically have Liz work on both my dogs however she wasn't available. I booked with Vee (only groomer with an opening) and SPECIFICALLY asked that she keep my dog as fluffy as possible. She said she would be able to keep his face somewhat fluffy but his ears were a bit matted and would try her best. I was called three hours after the drop off and told my dog was ready and she tried her best but could only keep his head fluffy. When I picked my dog up I nearly cried! She shaved him bald with several areas on his body shaved bare and other parts with hair. He looked like a rat! I was extremely upset! Vee clearly isn't skilled with her technique. If she was she would have been able to leave a little hair as opposed to shaving him bald! DO NOT GO TO VEE! She obviously lacked in skill and ability as a groomer and wanted to make it easy for her and just shaved all his hair off! I also didn't like the fact that she was bad mouthing Liz (another groomer) stating she didn't fill out the paperwork correctly on another client in front of us. She then said "Oh, never mind, she wrote it on the top of the form!" Please refrain from bad mouthing your co-workers, it gives negative vibes.

Terrible. I always ask for a certain length or cut and they always send my dog home bald. I brush him everyday, so they can never blame the cut on matts or tangles. Also, their Bath & Brush is terrible. I paid $40 for a between cut maintenance (see below). And all they do is give him a bath and brush him out. They did not trim his nails, complete a sanitary trim, shave his paw pads or clean his anal glands. 3 hours and $40 later and all I get is a bathed dog. I could've done that myself. When I mentioned it and showed it to the staff they rolled their eyes and told me he was done and handed me the bill.

This review is for Lisa, one of the few people I trust to train my puppy, Enzo (a French bulldog). First of, I don't live in Fairfield. I was in town one day and I went to Petsmart and Petco and Fairfield, I read Lisa's biography inside the PetSmart store, and that's how I choose Lisa as Enzo's dog trainer. He started off in the Beginner Class with Lisa. She called me weeks before the class started and explained to me the different dogs in the class and how the other dogs in the class may react to Enzo (due to the fact at the time Enzo was the youngest dog in the class). Lisa made all the efforts to answer my questions and ensuring I was ready for day 1 of the class. She provided me information on how vaccinations should be complete prior to class and recommended what treats I should purchase for Enzo in order for him to pay attention in class. She even recommended the best vests/ collars for all the dogs in the class to help keep them safe from pulling/ running away/ into the other dogs in the class. Enzo completed the beginner class in 6 weeks. If you were unable to make a class, Lisa worked around her schedule to make sure that you can have a make up class, which I thought was very thoughtful: she made sure you got your money's worth. Lisa is a straightforward type of trainer, she will tell you if you are doing something incorrect, but she does this in order to break habits and help your dogs learn. Which I appreciate the most because now I am told I have a well trained Frenchie, he knows his commands really well. Enzo went on to the intermediate class with Lisa, and handful of the puppies from the beginner class, where also in the intermediate class as well. Again, Lisa called us a week before the class started, gave us information on what to expect, what dogs would be in the class, and answered all the questions we had. Enzo then went on to the Brain Games class with Lisa (the best class I have to say). She really took the time to make sure pet parents knew their marker words, and this class was really fun with Lisa. She took the time to make sure that all the dogs knew their games. Lisa is such a good dog trainer. I do not mind driving 20 minutes from home just to go to her classes. My Enzo really loves Lisa and really listens to her. I appreciate her knowledge and the fact that she is very passionate about what she does, which is why the dogs do so great in the class because she loves what she does!

I went in to get my kitten some things and was checked out by Alisyn, who was extremely rude when I had to ask her to back and get the 2 mo dose of Kitten Advantage instead of the 6 mo. I was nothing but nice and apologized profusely as she kept sighing loudly and didn't speak to me. I then came to my car and realized that the medication came up to $43 and I always pay $26 and the Petco website said it was $26 as well so I went back in. I went to John this time in hopes that he would be more friendly, but that was not the case. He made it seem like it was my fault (it was no ones fault) and kept repeating that it was my responsibility to price check with them. I told him I was confused because I had never paid that much, but he continued to scold me. He was just as hostile and rude to me as Alisyn. They were both extremely unprofessional and seemed like they didn't want to be there. This was my first time at Petco and they made such a terrible first impression of the store. read more

I recently purchased a self cleaning litter box at the PetSmart location in Folsom on my way home from visiting family. After reading mixed reviews I decided I wanted to return the litter box. The Fairfield location is the closest PetSmart to where I live in Napa. I drove to the Fairfield location with receipt in hand only to be turned away. The manager on duty explained to me that they could not take a return from another PetSmart location if the purchase is over $25. After nicely asking if there was anything they could do for me to avoid driving all the way back to Folsom to make my return, she basically told me I was s**t out of luck & my only option was returning the item where it came from. The cashier behind her basically laughed at me and told me "it's not that big of a deal, I've sent people away with a much further drive ahead". After leaving the store I called the Folsom location & spoke to the manager on duty. She told me this didn't sound right, that if this happened in her store she would have accepted the return regardless of what location the item was purchased. She apologized for my inconvenience & how I was treated at the Fairfield location. I guess next time I will shop at either Petco or Pet Food Express. Even better I might just order off Amazon, that way if I decide to return all I will have to do is go to the nearest UPS location, where they will pack it up & ship it back for me free of cost. read more

I brought my sister's Maltese here for grooming yesterday. I initially just wanted a trim for him but they insisted he had knots and needed to be shaved down. I relented. I suspected they just wanted to make things easy for themselves, since it seemed every dog there was getting shaved down. They told me it would be a couple of hours. About three hours later I called and was told it would be another hour or so. I finally picked the dog up 4.5 hours after dropping him off. He was shaking, probably from hunger because when I took him home he tore into his food like he was starving. The haircut looked uneven in most places - kind of a bad sign that they can't even get a simple shave right. But the real problem are his nails - they're terribly jagged and I've got two pretty bad scratches after playing catch with him. Most dog groomers are booked up weeks in advance but this place had an opening the next day. Big red flag, now that I think of it. The problem isn't necessarily the sloppy cut or even the jagged nails. The dog came home acting traumatized and the fact that he endured almost 5 hours locked up there and hungry, is reason enough for me not to bring him back to this place. read more

Lisa M. The dog trainer was horrible. I had a very bad experience with the way she communicated and instructed the owners of the dog. Training was every Saturday 12 to 1 pm. During the training, as I have observed her, she has less patience with owners who just can't follow instructions immediately. She even tapped my head for not getting it right. She even told me to give up my dog if I cannot get him potty trained consistently. She even instructed me to place my dog in the bathroom while I am at work instead of in a crate. She should have suggested to get a pen for more space for my dog instead of in the bathroom which is a four-wall close area. I felt so degraded when she tapped my head when I could not get her instructions at once. I am a first time dog owner. Her instructions include skills to train dog owners of course this is like a step by step training and not a fast track thing. She should have considered background and aituations of each owner. I want a refund or at least partial one. I felt frustrated because of the experience with her. I finished the course because I love my dog. But my experience was not great. When my dog had an accident on the floor, she stated "You should have let him pee and poo before class. I will have to mopp the floor before next class then." When she tapped my head for not being able to follow her instructions I felt bad. She is not professional enough to deal with owners like me just learning how to train my dog behaviorally. She doesn't have good communication skills. She was intimidating and overbearing. How could you learn if she is not patient enough to teach? Teaching entails patience and understanding. I will not recommend her as an instructor. read more

Terrible experience. My dog has been at this location before, and never had an issue. As soon as she was dropped off, they called me several times so I can go pick her up, because she was distressed. I am at work, so my husband, who dropped her off, also went to pick her up. The rep that called me said my dog bit the groomer, my husband said when he picked her up she was in a kennel in the back very anxious. This is very unlike her, because she is very social, and has never bitten anyone. Just about 30 min ago, my husband said someone is ringing the bell and is a sheriff d4opping off a paper my dog is in quarantine. The rep that called me from Petsmart never warned me or explain anything else My dog was not able to be groomed. Im very dissapointed because I always had a good experience until today. Needless to say, will not eve go back there, and of course, DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to take their pet there. I really want to know what happened since my dog is usually very social. read more

I had to make an account on here just to tell everyone that that is the best pet store I've ever been to and I'm never going to a different one after what happened last week. Lauren may have just saved my lizards life with her advice. My brother got my kids a bearded dragon for their birthdays but his health was terrible the past few weeks and without this store I think he would have died. His health bounced back so fast that we brought him in for her to see and she had so many educating stories and pictures of her dragon and other pets for my kids to see. She and the entire store staff are the nicest and most helpful I've ever experienced. Don't go anywhere else cause if I could give this store more stars I would! If you have any troubles with your pets you need to see lauren, she's the one with the cute buttons on her shirt. read more

I visited the store to help my niece pick out her first fish for her fish tank. Jasmine helped us from start to finish and we didn't really know what we were doing. Jasmine did a great job making sure we had all the information we needed to set up our tank successfully while still supporting what we were looking for. Things got busy but Jasmine made sure to see us through what we needed while getting other customers got taken care of to. Great customer service made all the difference and got me wanting to set up a tank of my own. read more
