We used two different companies in cherry hill before this company and two companies in Philly before that abd without a doubt happy tails of south jersey by Cara Ruth was the best. Cara ruth manages the company, all dog walker assignments matching it to the personality of your dogs. One of our dogs was a bit more challenging to get to walk than the other. Her team members were kind, patient and thoughtful with both dogs- we worked with Lauren, Kara, Justine, and Julie. They were all great. Pricing is reasonable as well! The online app they have is a great way to schedule, communicate (in private w Cara or in public with the team). We used them for private dog walks for both our dogs 2-3 times a day but they also do group walks which could be great for social and physically active dogs. Prior to working with Daniel, my dog, Eugene, would bark, spin, mouth, run, and turn into a high-energy dog whenever someone entered my space, then stay high-energy after they left. It made me nervous having guests over. I put off dog training because I thought I could Google and read my way to a solution, we had a decent foundation in obedience on our own, and, frankly, Eugene and I had been stuck in our ways for some five years together. I wasn't sold on dog training. How wrong I was! Daniel's expertise went above and beyond anything I could've figured out myself. He helped me apply the obedience work we'd already done to create stronger boundaries and a better relationship. He noticed a few quirks in Eugene that meant generic dog advice just wasn't enough. Because Daniel has read so extensively in addition to his real-life experience, he could call out advice I'd picked up that wasn't serving us or help put it in context. After getting them the family found out the male was extremely aggressive & wasn't acting like a typical healthy macaw. The baby got sick shortly after getting her home as well. Todd Marcus' son, Chris, told them to hand feed her formula. After numerous conversations & some advice from Chris, he was informed about the second bird also being positive for ABV & after that he never returned any messages. The family is now left with two sick birds, one which isn't doing well & probably won't end up making it, after spending thousands of dollars. Todd Marcus has no sympathy & is placing blame on the family, rather than taking accountability or trying to be helpful. Investing so much money into animals that become a part of your family, your best friends, just to watch them wither away & know there is nothing you can do to help save them is the most heartbreaking & devastating thing imaginable to people who truly care about their pets. If you intend on purchasing a bird from this facility, please think twice as this disease is contagious & it is fatal, & the birds the family have were at the pet store which means all other birds that they had at the time & even now, could've potentially been exposed & could also be sick - even if they show no noticeable signs. Do not take your dogs to this kennel if you truly care about your dogs!!! The rescue I volunteer…read morewith learned the hard way. There is no way to know the level of care the dogs receive while here. Vicki is an older woman who has one staff member who helps in the mornings. This is the second kennel we have dealt with who have the funds and don't hire staff, which can only point to greed. That means Vicki herself is taking caring of her human partner in the home and their 8 animals, as well as the countless dogs being boarded there. Vicki is so up and down mood wise. She's terrible to "work with". She has been over 30 minutes late numerous times when dogs are being picked up or dropped off by rescue volunteers. She made everything difficult for the rescue I volunteer with, almost causing countless volunteers to quit. She makes up rules and regulations as she pleases. She has 3 dogs who were abandoned at the kennel who she won't even allow to find homes, instead they rot in those kennels. She has a Pitbull, shepherd, and senior Chihuahah who were dumped there and live there to this day. She had a rescue at her finger tips who has helped placed other abandoned dogs and yet she would rather these poor dogs suffer in a cage for the rest of their lives. This is not someone who cares about animals. This is someone who cares about money and that's it. The kennels are in bad shape and instead of repairing them, she doesn't. She has her own partner's dog and 2 cats inside the home. She has 2 of her own dogs in the home who live solely on the porch and 1 more who lives in the indoor kennels. These animals are not getting the attention and care when there are at least 20 kennels who often have animals in them. That is around 27 animals being fed by 1 person at night and 27 being fed in the morning by 2 people. Take your dogs to a kennel who truly cares about their dogs, who allow you to see the kennels with your own eyes and who have STAFF. This place needs to be shut down and it's only a matter of time until it happens.
