Photo sent by Best Friends of Coconut during his stay.
    Leena S.

I boarded my cat, Coconut, here for a 10 days. Normally, I would leave him at home and have someone come visit him. Unfortunately, two days before my trip he came down with a UTI and was treated, but I didn't want to leave him home alone in case of an accident. For those with a cat, you can understand the mess and stench created by cat urine! I didn't know if finding a place last minute would be easy. Best Friends was able to take Coconut and their rates at $19 / day for cat boarding were slightly cheaper than another local pet boarder. Since this was his first stay they gave us 1 day free. I felt awful boarding him. He's 2 1/2 years old and had never been boarded before. There were no other cats being boarded during his time there. There were plenty of big loud dogs in cages in an area preceding the cat boarding area. Coconut had an entire cage with his food and water. They came and played with him for 15 minutes every day. They also sent me a photo of him once during that week, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and liked animals.

We leave our dog here when we travel and have found they take great care with her. Upon pickup she is well fed and hydrated and happy. The staff is responsive and careful. We never worry. We love Best Friends.

I'm so happy with the service Best Friends provides!

Exceptional support and genuine care -- ARC with Love truly puts the dogs first…read more Our experience with ARC has been nothing short of compassionate and supportive. From the very beginning of our adoption journey with our puppy Rio, the team was incredibly responsive, patient, and genuinely invested in making sure both the dog and our family were comfortable. As first-time puppy parents juggling full-time work and kids, we had moments of overwhelm and uncertainty. ARC -- especially Louise -- handled every question, concern, and even our emotional back-and-forth with grace and understanding. Whether it was guidance on feeding, vaccinations, behavior, or just reassurance during anxious moments, they were always there to help. What stood out most was how deeply they care about the well-being of their dogs. Their priority is clearly to ensure each puppy goes to a safe, loving, and committed home -- and they take that responsibility very seriously. At the same time, they showed empathy toward us as a family trying to do the right thing. Thanks to their support and encouragement, we were able to work through our initial challenges and confidently welcome Rio into our home. We are so grateful for ARC with Love's dedication, transparency, and heart. If you are considering adopting, know that ARC with Love will walk alongside you every step of the way -- with honesty, kindness, and the dog's best interest at heart. Highly recommend!

The last part she made up about me referring friends and family to her. I'm disgusted with this situation. More so that a woman takes advantage of poor innocent animals to make money. No one drives from MA to NJ to adopt a dog,, spends $895 on one and just decides for no reason to bring the dog back 400 miles there and 400 miles back. Please, just do your homework on this woman and notice she adopts 90% cute little puppies and kittens.

For years, we received excellent service and great kindness from the married veterinarians who operated the clinic. From providing me with excellent references when I wanted to adopt a cat to offering sensitive services in helping to see each kitty cross the "Rainbow Bridge," this was a highly empathetic and ethical veterinary practice. The doctors Miele retired and sold the practice, and I did not have any problems until recently when I took my 14-year-old Himalayan, Dexter, for a checkup. He is very healthy but has some tummy issues. There was no discussion of costs prior to the exam and I did not think that was odd because I always assumed they would be fair. I was asked if I wanted to include a recommended blood test - I said yes, not realizing it was about $350. I had planned on spending about $500 and was shocked when the bill was $1000! I explained that I thought that was high but I would pay $500 now and the balance the following Monday. This arrangement was not acceptable - The office manager, a woman with few people skills or empathy, insisted I pay the entire amount and made veiled threats that included stating that leaving without paying the full amount was equivalent to walking out of a store without paying. They treated me like a potential criminal instead of a long-term client and refused to send the blood test out until I paid the full amount. I am an 83-year-old senior citizen with a serious lung condition. I am on O2 24/7. I have lived in the same condo for 35 years and have run a successful business since moving here. I have no record of any kind beyond traffic tickets. Did this witch and the equally unhelpful women manning the desk at Princeton Animal Hospital think that I was going to toss all that, grab my cat and flee into the night between Thursday and Monday, just to avoid paying $500? Luckily, I had Dexter in his carrier and in my hand because I feel certain they would have held him hostage. I admit that my Irish temper flared but I have a lot to cope with being ill with a terminal disease and being threatened with more financial hassles and stress. So, I just left. I called the next day - the Manager was off and I was told that the blood test would not be sent out until I paid the $500. They could not guarantee the specimen would still be viable and I might have to bring Dexter in again for a new test! As if! I just cancelled the blood test and asked them to invoice me the balance which they did. I am going into this kind of detail to show how far Princeton Animal Hospital has fallen and to tell you that they may be within their rights. This is becoming a common practice in New York, according to a friend of mine, cat care expert and groomer, Anitra Frazier. My advice would be to discuss the costs in advance before even bringing your dog or cat to any vet. And to certainly avoid Princeton Animal Hospital. So, now I need to find a new vet for Dexter. (I should have noted earlier that my quarrel is not with Princton Animal Hospital's veterinarians but with its obnoxious clerical staff.) It is really sad to see how far this one excellent practice has fallen.
