Employees where not friendly! The dogs that were there did not look to be having fun. Refused at answer my questions.

If I could give zero stars I would. I JUST left this petsmart. Let me preface that I normally take my dog to a petsmart as he normally gets a warm welcome/good experience. Not today, I took him in for a simple nail trim, first off the "greeting area" was full of mixes of hair and a nice pile of dog poop. My dog laid down which be normally does not do which I should've taken as a sign from him. The woman (short spiky blonde hair, older, stocky) dragged him without a welcome at all back into the area until he got up. No petting, warm welcome. He was leashed and a muzzle put on him and as soon as she started he was barking and "trying to bite" but had a muzzle on. He kept barking and trying to jump so she used her own body as leverage to hold him down. Enough was enough to me I went in and said "I'll just take him" and another girl there said "you should probably take him to a vet"I said "he has NEVER acted like this, that's not the problem" and left. I paid anyway but I will NEVER be back as my dog is a part of my family not just some wild animal he deserves to be treated like a family pet. I strongly suggest you take a cue from your animal before using this grooming facility. He was clearly a dollar sign not a pet. read more

Ashley in the Grooming Salon is the BEST!! I took our dogs there for the 3 years we lived in the Des Moines area, and we were extremely spoiled. She is so caring and loving and does a phenomenal job. I really wish she would transfer to Council Bluffs or Omaha (where we reside) as Berkley and Nova really miss her!!! We haven't been able to find someone as good as her. Petsmart Grooming had poor customer service. No greeting when I came in. Workers were talking badly about coworkers and customers. The place was dirty and the nail trim job was done poorly. Some nails were left untrimmed. read more

Horrible! Recently visited this place- unprofessional staff. Feces on floor, which looked like it had been there awhile, very dirty! Staff decided they wouldn't complete my pet's nail trim and other services, supposedly because she was uncooperative. I've been taking her to other petsmart locations in another state for years and have never had an issue. Staff treated my pet as if they weren't important. Although I was not charged because they didn't do anything, they offered me to come back when they weren't so busy. If the issue was temperament, then why offer to make me come back! A bunch of nonsense. They were busy and didn't want to take the time to do their job and take care of my pet! Horrible! The store is also very disgusting, I had to wait and walking through the store noticed dried urine on the shelving all over the place in various places! Just nasty! No helpful staff anywhere to speak of! Take your pet to a place that truly cares- Three Tails Wagging on 100th! I took my pet there immediately after this incident and they are wonderful! I took my dog in for the first time for the groomers just this past Saturday I made the appointment on Tuesday 7 a.m. So when I arrived me and several other people were waiting in line and it was past seven o'clock so number one they were late number 2 they said they had no record of my dogs appointment or her name or any information when I did call in to make an appointment on Tuesday they even call the day before to remind me of the appointment and claim they did not call when they did they left me a voicemail then I told the groomer exactly what I wanted done to my dog I asked that she be bathed and trimmed and combed out but when I came back to pick her up not only she wasn't done but the groomer sheared her like a sheep took off all her fur to almost nothing I was very upset because that is not what I told this person to do. so I spoke with the store manager about the incident they did not charge me for it so now it's going to be 3 to 4 months before her fur grows back. Not only was bad service and not a friendly staff at all I will not return to have my dog groomed there ever again later on that day the manager of the salon decided to call me as I told her what took place she was not very kind number one acted like she did not believe my story number 2 number 3 also acted like it was my fault these people are very incompetent and unprofessional and obviously do not listen to the customer I told them I wanted her to be groomed and combed out not sheared like a sheep very disappointed with this place very unprofessional rude and act like they know what's better for my dog instead of listening to the customer the manager of the grooming needs to be fired as well as the lady that did my dog and ruined her for now I will not ever come back I will find a Professional Groomer not a sheep shearing barnyard with incompetent and unprofessional people that don't listen to what the customer stated. do not take your animal 2b groomed here the word is spreading very fast and how awful of a place this is for grooming and several people even agree with me on it. read more

I have given them 5 chances. The customer service I have experienced in the grooming salon is awful. The employees consistently treat my dog and I like an inconvenience. They have charged me for services that I haven't received on two occasions. I do not recommend, I will not be returning. read more

It was the first time I went to that location and I won't go back. I needed crickets and wet car food and the choice wasn't even close to the locations I'm used to go. It was a Saturday afternoon, it smelled bad. read more

My daughter and I brought her Maltese to the University location on Dec 8, 2015 per the apt that was made the prior week. We have taken her dog here for the past couple years but the past three times there has been nothing but problems. The appointment was for 12:30. We had another appointment scheduled around this appointment so we dropped her dog off at 11:50. The only thing in the grooming salon at this time was a poor dog that was tied up on the floor in the filth of dog hair. He continued to bark at us as we waited. I pushed the button on the wall for an Associate TWICE. The phone continued to ring. After a 15 minute wait...an associate came and helped us. She looked the dog up on the computer system and tried to tell us that there was NO appointment made. I remember very clearly making the appointment as it worked well with the other appointment we had. The associate was rude and was in no way going to make it work. I asked to speak to the manager and so she paged him. His name was Steve...maybe Stephen. As we waited for him, another associate walked in that claimed to be the grooming salon manager. We explained the situation to her and she proceeded to look up the same information that the first associate did....to tell us the same thing. She questioned what number we called and we looked it up on the phone. Yep.. we had the right store...also the time of day we made it. They blamed the error on a new computer system but that did not help us. We drove nearly 2 hours for this appointment. We were reminded that they were short staffed from both associates....also that she was not even o the clock yet to be helping us..SERIOUSLY! NOT OUR PROBLEM and it should not have been made our problem. Rather than apologizing for their error, we were rudely treated as if our business did not matter to them. They apparently forgot that it is us paying customers that pay their wages! After standing there for 30 minutes the 2nd associate decided she could "Squeeze" the dog in but could not give any approximate time as to when or how long it would be. We had no choice as we could not take the dog to the next appointment. I felt bad for the dog, fearing they were going to take it all out on him. We left and received a text around 4:00 that the dog was ready. I went to get him and could not believe the chop job he was given! The hair in his ears was not trimmed out, his nails were ugly...uneven and rough! His hair was way short in some areas but not others. We later at home noticed he had been nicked in a couple places where he hair was too short. I contacted PetSmart.com to complain about this situation, only to receive back a message that they would pass it on to the Clive manager and he would be getting back to me within 24-48 hours. I never received that call so I sent a second complaint. I again was told that they would resend my complaint and I would be contacted. That was 6 days ago and I have not heard a word!! I will NEVER return to this salon nor will the dog. It is apparent that they do not need the business! I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone! read more
