My wife and I went to this location in Broomfield, CO today looking for some advice on a different dog food as our 14 year old Westie seems to have developed a possible allergy to chicken (per our vet) and turning his nose up to what we were feeding him. We went to the checkout lane to ask for help and Maren immediately called for someone to cover her cash register so she could help us (she has a cat with a similar issue). We have been taking our dog hear for years and Brittany was been great. Today we had to book with another groomer . She manhandled the dog to the point of agitation. She then called two hours later for me to pick her up because she was too anxious. She should not be around animals. Now i have half groomed and very anxious dog. I also agree with other comments. Worst customer service consistently and shadiest computer system for cheating your money/misleading advertisement ! If items are on sale, they do not post the sale signs on the shelves properly, so you will not know sometimes; I asked the cashier how the price works when I was checking out (isn't it nice to know how much you are getting charged before you swipe?) the young lady kept arguing all the signs are up and I should have known; when I said do you want to take a walk with me to see it yourself when a whole section doesn't have any sign? She changed her statement right away, saying the store was about to close so they tear down all the sale labels because "we want to go home right after work just as much as you do" in an irritated tone. Also, I bought three treats at $19.99 each (advertised as buy 2 get 1 free, equal or less value), as well as three other treats at $3.99 each, same deal. I end up paying $19.99 for all three more expensive treats and got the one $3.99 for free instead of the $19.99 for free. If you are not checking your receipt, this will easily fool you. I bought three toys for about $20 each another time (also advertised as buy 2 get 1 free), and when I was at the the register, the cashier asked me if I want to donate $5 plush toy for Children's hospital. I said yes. Guess what? I end up paying full price for all the three toys I bought and got that $5 plush donation toy for free, which overcharged me $15. You are ruining my trust and good heart for charity PetSmart!!! Don't even get me started with how unhelpful and rude the cashiers are! This place is the worst! Back around Thanksgiving we brought our 6 month old puppy in because he was acting weird. We had him to another vet that took xrays and they didn't see anything and then we took him here to Banfield and they said they couldn't see anything and couldn't help him because it was the day before Thanksgiving but they did give him a prescription food for bad gastrointestinal issues. We finally took him to a real doctor and they showed us a blockage. If we wouldn't have taken him to emergency surgery he would have died. So now I have a bag of expensive dog food and I forget about it. When I tried to return it they said that they couldn't take it back because of Covid but the manager assured me they would take it back. So I try to return it today and they say they won't accept it because it's too late now. I spend thousands upon thousands of dollars with this location whether it is food, pet hospital, pet supplies, grooming etc... even supporting them when everything else is shut down due to Covid and the smart thing to do is order online and they can't take back a small return? I typically get my cat's prescription food from this store. I went on Thursday and they did not have the kind I needed. I called on Monday and they said they would get some in the following day. When I arrived, they did not have the food I requested. The staff, Andy called 3 other stores and the Orchard store had 5 cans. She did not communicate to save them for me and when I went over there, they had no cans. All the staff and supervisors, Richie from the Larkridge store and Shannon from the Orchard store were not helpful from that point on and refused to help me find a store that has the prescription cat food that I needed. Additionally, I requested for the managers to call me and it has been 2 days and no call. Petsmart does not care about helping customers. I will not be returning to Petsmart. read more

I'm giving them 2 stars over 1 because a lovely girl by the name Alexa answered my phone call first and was kind and polite and asked me for all the information I had because asking for help from a manager, she was amazing. However, in talking to the manager I was unable to be helped and was told to speak to the manufacturer about exchanging my product I purchased in this past year (most things have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty). The problem with this is that, having a Top Fin product, PetSmart is the manufacturer, and they don't stand behind their products at all. I suppose I'm upset about a lot of things, but more so the fact that one store (the store in Boulder) was willing to help me if only the product was in stock. Here, the product was in stock, but they would not help me. I just hope there's more consistency in procedures in the future (and for PetSmart to start standing behind their products). read more

Ugh. I've debated leaving this review for a while. I'll address the store as a whole and their grooming department. Disclaimer: I am a dog trainer by trade, so, about some things I might come off harshly. Grooming: where do I start? I have a blind pug who's nails grow like speed racers. I stopped bringing her to Petsmart because. 6x in a row, I would return to pick her up, and the nails would have been trimmed to different lengths. One time, I wasn't even sure they had trimmed her nails. Upon requesting they re trim her nails, the techs would argue with me that I was wrong. I took my girl immediately to another grooming place and they agreed her nails had been left WAY too long. Boo urns. Store: It's always well stocked and clean. But, the staff feel like a weird cult that the customers are clearly not a part of. They stand in groups and chat. They greet you,sure, but it feels more like an imposition than a nicety. I can rarely find help when I have a product question. Their staff's product knowledge is very weak. I like to bring my dogs everywhere I can because it's good for training. I have one dog who doesn't like being touched on the head. I have him wear a bandana saying," ask before petting." While other customers are really respectful of this, it's always Petsmart staff who are reaching to randomly touch my dogs without asking. For a place which also provides training, you'd think they'd have their trainers tell staff how to and how not to approach people's pets. Because any experienced pet owner or trainer knows, every dog has different needs. It's always so surprising when they walk past and randomly pet my dog without asking. Bad form Petsmart! I have it 2 stars because of the terrible grooming experiences I've had, the lack of service and staff knowledge, and for their in appropriate handling of animals in their stores. Sorry! read more

Grommers are unprofessional! Do not get your dogs groomed here! When I brought my dog in, they checked him out prior to taking him back. They said his coat looked fine and wouldn't be a problem getting it to the length we agreed on. A few minutes later they called and said they had to go shorter than what we had talked about. So I told them that it was fine to go one length shorter... MY DOG CAME BACK WITH ALMOST NO HAIR AT ALL! Almost like they didn't want to deal with all the work that she needed to do on my dog. I paid extra for nail clipping and his nails were not cut and I was still charged for the service. Now I have to wait 3-4 months for my dog's hair to grow back how it was before. The store itself is nice and very clean, and I go here for all my pet needs. The people are nice and know me well enough that we are on a first name basis. Today, some pink haired young boy was working the sales floor. I asked him if they had cat eye drops in stock. Without even looking up from his phone- he was on Snapchat- he said, "If you don't see it on the shelf, we don't have it." Okay. I would normally accept that as fact, but I called and they said it was in stock. I go to the pet hospital tech, who doesn't even work the sales floor, and she went and got it for me. Everyone is normally so helpful, but this snotty teen couldn't be bothered to check the top stock for me. I work retail, so I get it, but it was like five feet from where he had been. Put in some initiative, kid. Other than this rude teen, everyone and everything is great. read more

I stopped by this Petsmart on my way home from out of town. I was happy to find they had my dog's prescription dog food. Overall, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to take me right to the food when I asked by name. Downside, you have to get a prescription from their in-house vet in order to get prescription dog food from them. First time getting my dog's hair cut here for his first time and it worked out well in the end. When I first took him in for grooming, I had to come back again since his haircut was barely a 'haircut' it was more like a light trim (which I could have done myself), but I had to reschedule again and come in a second time to re-groom my dog. After the second groom, it worked out pretty good. I now take him here for his grooming since they do a pretty good job of what I expect. So far I usually come out to this location even though there are several locations closer because even though it can be busy here, it's not as bad as the other suburban areas. EDIT: 5/17/12 Took my dog here to get his grooming done after a year and a half now, I'm still not sure why I come here, but after I told the lady to not BUZZ my dogs hair and instead TRIM him, she obviously didn't get the message and buzzed the hair off of him. Done with this place, and am investing in my own hair kit for my dog. read more

Service is definitely hit and miss. Sometimes I need to go to the cashier and make them call someone, usually repeatedly, to come Help me with crickets. Because there's no one to be found on the floor.Crickets being on hand has been an issue, but I get it. It's a 3rd party item they have to order, with limited 'shelf life' and have no real way of knowing the exact demand. Shipping delays and extreme heat or cold could destroy a shipment. Today, The fish / reptile gentleman who helped me with purchasing two reptile tanks and the crickets I actually came in for was super helpful, friendly, and even helped me load my tanks! The gentleman at the register was also very nice and friendly, like he actually wanted to be there! (A rare quality in retail cashiers) or he faked it very well, either way... Well I have tried the grooming here and OMG they are AWESOME! I have moved away and had to take my dog elsewhere and WOW the poor quality of grooming is a shock! I will make the 30-40 min drive to have Dawn groom my golden mix....she gets a feather trim and she looks so AWESOME when Dawn is done with her! We have brought my border collie/Aussie mix here for about 5-6 different grooming services in the past year and a half. We showed up today for our appointment, and they refused to take my pup because they lost her rabies info. They switched POS systems and lost many customers info. Did they tell me this when they scheduled the appointment? No. Since the appointment was for a Sunday, they could not reach our vet for proof. We will not be using this petsmart ever again. The groomer, Stephanie, was very unapologetic and made it seem like it was our fault that they dropped the ball. Very disappointed because we loved using Ashley as a groomer. read more

They rarely have feeder fish and when they do, they're decidedly not the most healthy. Crickets are hit or miss. There's never enough help in the fish section and you're hard pressed to get there and have more than one register open. I've never seen an adoption event here. They moved the fish expert to another area and the friendly cashiers rarely have hours here now. read more

This is the most poorly run Petsmart I have ever been to. We went to have our dog's nails trimmed and were told there was a 15 minute wait and they would page us when ready. After 20 minutes and not having been paged, we went back to the grooming department where several of the employees were standing around talking to each other. They were extremely rude when speaking to us. We wandered the store while waiting for our dog, and were passed by several employees, none of whom offered to help us or even said hi. Took my little guy to the groomer this past Saturday. I will definitely not have him endure that experience again at this petsmart. I decided to take him here as it was the only petsmart with an opening this day...bad idea. We knew his grooming would take approximately 4 hours and so we planned our day around it. Alas, as 4 hours pass and not a word in sight of him being finish, we decided to stroll in and see his progress. As we walk in, we didn't see him and asked if he was done. The lady inform us to our astonishment that they won't start on him for another 10 minutes and that it would be another 45 minutes until he's finish. Are you kidding me! The manager was very generous and offered us a free groom but we felt bad for having him brave the kennel for 3-4 hours and took our business elsewhere. I would never go here again for his grooming. I'm usually very busy so I thought possibly I made it at a different Petsmart I check my phone records I call my vet to see where they faxed the rabies cert to and I'm at the correct Petsmart with nobody to groom my dog. I was going to another petsmart and loved it. Well I moved and ended up stuck with this one. When I took my dog, I let them know she has separation anxiety-after all, the other petsmart I went to helped a lot with that. Within 5 mins of me dropping my dog off, I got a phone call to pick my dog up immediately. They didn't even TRY to work with her. She was wet from them trying to wash her and they gave me a whole attitude. Needless to say, I will never take her back. If a place refuses to work with a dog after only 5 mins, that tells me they could really care less. these people don't know what they are doing with dogs in my opinion. I now take my dog to "adorable dogs" in thornton. I drive an extra 20 minutes to do that so my dog is well taken care of. They do a wonderful job with her there and her hair is cut much more professionally. If u want a caring groomer, avoid this particular petsmart. read more

We are new pet owners (of a baby bunny) and came to this location to get the cage and everything else needed. We went to the aisle for small pets and had no idea what we needed for the bunny. We walked past the nearest aisles and were frustrated to find no help. So we went to the front where the cash registers are and finally found someone. We told her it was our first pet and she was really really helpful!! She was nice and definitely made us feel less frustrated. She answered all of our questions as best she could and offered a pet guide for bunnies/rabbits for the questions she couldn't answer. Once we got what we needed we headed towards the check out and the lady at the cash register was incredibly rude. We got a starter kit of a guinea pig and the only thing we needed to switch out was the food for rabbit food instead. It was the same price and size but she said there was nothing she could do to help us. We ended up asking the guy at the register over (I think he was the manager) and he was able to help us with no problems at all. I was disappointed in the fact that we couldn't find a soul to help us for a while and the lady at the check out was so rude and difficult and unwilling to help. We ended up standing by the check out lanes for almost ten minutes!! The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars vs 1 or none is because the lady that helped us was really kind. We won't be visiting this location again and will find a different pet store that has a friendlier staff. read more
